We exam the validity of the definition of the ADM angular momentum without the parity assumption. Explicit examples of asymptotically flat hypersurfaces in the Minkowski spacetime with zero ADM energy–momentum vector and finite non-zero angular momentum vector are presented. We also discuss the Beig–Ó Murchadha–Regge–Teitelboim center of mass and study analogous examples in the Schwarzschild spacetime.  相似文献

We diagonalize the metric Hamiltonian and evaluate the energy spectrum of the corresponding quasiparticles for a scalar field coupled to a curvature in the case of an N-dimensional homogeneous isotropic space. The energy spectrum for the quasiparticles corresponding to the diagonal form of the canonical Hamiltonian is also evaluated. We construct a modified energy–momentum tensor with the following properties: for the conformal scalar field, it coincides with the metric energy–momentum tensor; the energies of the particles corresponding to its diagonal form are equal to the oscillator frequency; and the number of such particles created in a nonstationary metric is finite. We show that the Hamiltonian defined by the modified energy–momentum tensor can be obtained as the canonical Hamiltonian under a certain choice of variables.  相似文献

We consider the gravimagnetization of the N=2 supersymmetric vacuum in the presence of the ??-deformation. We argue that the Seiberg-Witten prepotential is related to the vacuum density of the angular momentum in the Euclidean space ? 4 . We conjecture the possible role of the dyonic instantons as the microscopic angular momentum carriers that could yield a spontaneous vacuum gravimagnetization. We interpret the dyonic instanton as an analogue of the Euclidean bounce in ? 4 . Such a bounce is related to the Schwinger pair production. We also briefly discuss the induced angular momentum in ? 4 in the dual Liouville formulation of the SU(2) theory in terms of the hypothesis of the Alday-Gaiotto-Tachikawa correspondence.  相似文献

We construct a family of triangle-ladder diagrams that can be calculated using the Belokurov-Usyukina loop reduction technique in d=4?2? dimensions. The main idea of the approach we propose is to generalize this loop reduction technique existing in d=4 dimensions. We derive a recurrence relation between the result for an L-loop triangle-ladder diagram of this family and the result for an (L-1)-loop triangleladder diagram of the same family. Because the proposed method combines analytic and dimensional regularizations, we must remove the analytic regularization at the end of the calculation by taking the double uniform limit in which the parameters of the analytic regularization vanish. In the position space, we obtain a diagram in the left-hand side of the recurrence relations in which the rung indices are 1 and all other indices are 1 - ? in this limit. Fourier transforms of diagrams of this type give momentum space diagrams with rung indices 1 - ? and all other indices 1. By a conformal transformation of the dual space image of this momentum space representation, we relate such a family of triangle-ladder momentum diagrams to a family of box-ladder momentum diagrams with rung indices 1 - ? and all other indices 1. Because any diagram from this family is reducible to a one-loop diagram, the proposed generalization of the Belokurov-Usyukina loop reduction technique to a noninteger number of dimensions allows calculating this family of box-ladder diagrams in the momentum space explicitly in terms of Appell’s hypergeometric function F 4 without expanding in powers of the parameter ? in an arbitrary kinematic region in the momentum space.  相似文献

Summary. We prove that a standard second order finite difference uniform space discretization of the semilinear wave equation with periodic boundary conditions, analytic nonlinearity, and analytic initial data conserves momentum up to an error which is exponentially small in the stepsize. Our estimates are valid for as long as the trajectories of the full semilinear wave equation remain real analytic. The method of proof is that of backward error analysis, whereby we construct a modified equation which is itself Lagrangian and translation invariant, and therefore also conserves momentum. This modified equation interpolates the semidiscrete system for all time, and we prove that it remains exponentially close to the trigonometric interpolation of the semidiscrete system. These properties directly imply approximate momentum conservation for the semidiscrete system. We also consider discretizations that are not variational as well as discretizations on non-uniform grids. In this paper, we study the relativistic Vlasov-Fokker-Planck-Maxwell system in one space variable and two momentum variables. This non-linear system of equations consists of a transport equation for the phase space distribution function combined with Maxwell's equations for the electric and magnetic fields. It is important in modelling distribution of charged particles in the kinetic theory of plasma. We prove the existence of a classical solution when the initial density decays fast enough with respect to the momentum variables. The solution which shares this same decay condition along with its first derivatives in the momentum variables is unique.  相似文献

We consider a scalar field with a Gauss–Bonnet-type coupling to the curvature in a curved space–time. For such a quadratic coupling to the curvature, the metric energy–momentum tensor does not contain derivatives of the metric of orders greater than two. We obtain the metric energy–momentum tensor and find the geometric structure of the first three counterterms to the vacuum averages of the energy–momentum tensors for an arbitrary background metric of an N-dimensional space–time. In a homogeneous isotropic space, we obtain the first three counterterms of the n-wave procedure, which allow calculating the renormalized values of the vacuum averages of the energy–momentum tensors in the dimensions N=4,5. Using dimensional regularization, we establish that the geometric structures of the counterterms in the n-wave procedure coincide with those in the effective action method.  相似文献

We study δ-shocks in a one-dimensional system of zero-pressure gas dynamics. In contrast to well-known papers (see References) this system is considered in the form of mass, momentum and energy conservation laws. In order to define such singular solutions, special integral identities are introduced which extend the concept of classical weak solutions. Using these integral identities, the Rankine–Hugoniot conditions for δ-shocks are obtained. It is proved that the mass, momentum and energy transport processes between the area outside the of one-dimensional δ-shock wave front and this front are going on such that the total mass, momentum and energy are independent of time, while the mass and energy concentration processes onto the moving δ-shock wave front are going on. At the same time the total kinetic energy transforms into total internal energy.  相似文献

We obtain expressions for the vacuum expectations of the energy–momentum tensor of the scalar field with an arbitrary coupling to the curvature in an N-dimensional homogeneous isotropic space for the vacuum determined by diagonalization of the Hamiltonian. We generalize the n-wave procedure to N-dimensional homogeneous isotropic space–time. Using the dimensional regularization, we investigate the geometric structure of the terms subtracted from the vacuum energy–momentum tensor in accordance with the n-wave procedure. We show that the geometric structures of the first three subtractions in the n-wave procedure and in the effective action method coincide. We show that all the subtractions in the n-wave procedure in a four- and five-dimensional homogeneous isotropic space correspond to a renormalization of the coupling constants of the bare gravitational Lagrangian.  相似文献

Using a three- and four-dimensional Pauli–Villars regularization scheme, we investigate quark–antiquark and diquark condensation in the framework of the Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model. Using the particle Fermi momentum as a cutoff parameter, we study the energy gap width and coherence length for the meson condensate\(q\bar q\)〉. We also study the energy gap width and critical coherence length (the distance over which there would be no diquark condensation) for the diquarkqqand the dependence on the Fermi momentum. We obtain an estimate of the Fermi momentum value for meson and diquark condensates with an energy gap width of the order of 100 MeV.  相似文献

We establish a formula that expresses the value of the density of the Temlyakov-type integral with defining domain of type A in terms of the integral itself by means of a differential operator. We extend this operator connection to the Temlyakov–Bavrin-type integral of order k. Our study bases on the method of linear differential operators with variable coefficients which is developed by A. Prior empirical studies find positive and negative momentum effect across the global nations, but few focus on explaining the mixed results. In order to address this issue, we apply the quantile regression approach to analyze the momentum effect in the context of Chinese stock market in this paper. The evidence suggests that the momentum effect in Chinese stock is not stable across firms with different levels of performance. We find that negative momentum effect in the short and medium horizon (3 months and 9 months) increases with the quantile of stock returns. And the positive momentum effect is observed in the long horizon (12 months), which also intensifies for the high performing stocks. According to our study, momentum effect needs to be examined on the basis of stock returns. OLS estimation, which gives an exclusive and biased result, provides misguiding intuitions for momentum effect across the global nations. Based on the empirical results of quantile regression, effective risk control strategies can also be inspired by adjusting the proportion of assets with past performances.  相似文献

We consider a planar particle system obeying a generalized Pauli exclusion principle. In the mean field approximation, this system is described by a Schrödinger equation we recently introduced, containing a complex nonlinearity. The particle number, the total energy, and the angular momentum are conserved in such a system. We consider vortexlike stationary solutions of the form and write the differential equation for the vortex shape. We find an analytic solution of this equation and obtain a closed expression for the vortex profile. We investigate some mean properties and, in particular, calculate the energy spectrum and angular momentum of the vortex.  相似文献

Based on the requirement that the gauge invariance principle for the Poincaré-Weyl group be satisfied for the space-time manifold, we construct a model of space-time with the geometric structure of a Weyl-Cartan space. We show that three types of fields must then be introduced as the gauge (“compensating”) fields: Lorentz, translational, and dilatational. Tetrad coefficients then become functions of these gauge fields. We propose a geometric interpretation of the Dirac scalar field. We obtain general equations for the gauge fields, whose sources can be the energy-momentum tensor, the total momentum, and the total dilatation current of an external field. We consider the example of a direct coupling of the gauge field to the orbital momentum of the spinor field. For one-dimensional simulation of flow in ramified pipe systems loss prediction in junctions is essential. In the standard literature (e.g. [1]) total pressure loss coefficients serve this purpose. Elementary formulas follow from the principle of momentum and some simple assumptions [2]. They yield rather crude estimates, often twice as large as experimental values. Modifications described by Idelchik [3] look nice, but after all turn out to be not more accurate. We explain deviations and propose improved loss formula based on Truckenbrodt's energy and momentum coefficients [4], thus paying regard to velocity distributions over pipe cross-sections.
