The ambifunctional monomer, 1-propenyl glycidyl ether, was prepared from allyl glycidyl ether, by a ruthenium-catalyzed isomerization reaction in high yield. 1-Propenyl glycidyl ether undergoes facile photoinduced cationic polymerization to yield a crosslinked polymer. The structure of this polymer was studied using 1H- and, 13C-NMR spectroscopies and employing well-characterized related polymers as models. The model polymers were prepared by the cationic polymerization of allyl glycidyl ether with BF3OEt2 followed by isomerization of the pendant allyl groups by a ruthenium catalyst. Subsequently, the resulting polyether-bearing pendant 1-propenyl ether groups was subjected to a diaryliodonium salt-photoinitiated polymerization. A comparison of the spectra of the polymers indicated the presence of cyclic acetal units in the polymer backbone. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

A series of aromatic monomers bearing cationically polymerizable propenyl groups were prepared and characterized using the readily available starting materials: isoeugenol and o-allyl phenol. Monomers with both propenyl and vinyl ether functional groups were also synthesized by the reaction of these starting materials with chloroethyl vinyl ether. The reactivity of the resulting monomers in photoinitiated cationic polymerization was studied using differential scanning photocalorimetry and photogel point measurements. A series of nine difunctional 1-propenyl ether monomers bearing ether, ester, carbonate, and urethane groups were prepared based on trimethylolpropane diallyl ether as the starting material. The monomers were fully characterized and then subjected to photoinitiated cationic polymerization using diaryliodonium salts as photoinitiators. The course of the polymerizations was followed using Fourier transform real-time infrared spectroscopy and the relative reactivities of the various monomers were determined. It could be shown that the differences in reactivity could be related mainly to the basicity of the functional group introduced into the molecule. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

A series of aryl 1-propenyl ethers (ArPE) were prepared by the isomerization of the corresponding allyl aryl ethers (AArE) and used for photoinduced cationic polymerization studies. Attempted polymerization reactions using diaryliodonium salts as photoinitiators generally resulted in low yields of oligomers. Further studies revealed that these compounds have much lower reactivity in cationic vinyl polymerization as compared to their alkyl analogues. Moreover, side reactions resulting from chain transfer due to Friedel–Crafts alkylations take place and compete with vinyl polymerization. These side reactions are responsible for the low molecular weights observed in the cationic photopolymerization of aryl 1-propenyl ether monomers. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Novel mono‐ and multifunctional vinyl ester monomers containing thioether groups were synthesized via an amine‐catalyzed Michael addition reaction between vinyl acrylate and multifunctional thiols. Using photo‐differential scanning calorimetry and real‐time Fourier transform infrared (RTIR) spectroscopy, the polymerization kinetics and oxygen inhibition of the homopolymerizations of the vinyl ester monomers were investigated. The effect of the vinyl ester and thioether group on acrylate/vinyl ester and thiol/vinyl ester copolymerizations was determined using real‐time IR spectroscopy to monitor polymerization rates of acrylate, vinyl, and thiol groups simultaneously. Polymerization of the vinyl esters used was found to be relatively insensitive to oxygen inhibition. We propose that the thioether group is responsible for reducing oxygen inhibition by a series of chain transfer/oxygen‐scavenging reactions. In polymerization of a acrylate/vinyl ester mixture both in nitrogen and in air, the vinyl ester monomer significantly enhances the polymerization rates and the conversion of the acrylate double bonds via plasticization of the crosslinked matrix and reduction of inhibition by oxygen. Ultimately, the vinyl ester monomer is incorporated into the polymer network. Thiol/vinyl ester free‐radical copolymerization is much faster than either thiol/allylether copolymerization or vinyl ester homopolymerization. The synthesis of 1-propenyl ether-functionalized siloxanes (PFS) has been achieved by the controlled, rhodium-catalyzed, chemoselective hydrosilation of 1-allyloxy-4(1-propen-oxy) butane with various H-functional siloxanes. It was shown that the hydrosilation pro-ceeds exclusively at the allyl ether group of 1-allyloxy-4(1-propenoxy) butane without par-ticipation at the 1-propenyl ether group. The photoinduced cationic polymerization of these monomers was studied using various analytical techniques and found to take place very rapidly. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

New fluorinated, polyfunctional propenyl ether functionalized resins were synthesized, and their behavior in cationic photopolymerization was investigated. The photopolymerization proceeded efficiently with a high double‐bond conversion (>90%), giving rise to UV‐cured coatings characterized by low glass‐transition temperatures (?33 °C ≤ glass‐transition temperature ≤ ?15 °C) and hydrophobic surface properties. A fluorinated additive was also employed as a reactive additive in the cationic photopolymerization of trimethylolpropane tripropenyl ether, increasing the double‐bond conversion, polymer network flexibility, thermal stability, and surface hydrophobicity. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new AB2 monomer was synthesized for use in the preparation of a hyperbranched poly(aryl ether oxadiazole) with terminal phenol functionality. The AB2 monomer contains two phenolic groups and a single aryl fluoride group that is activated toward nucleophilic displacement by the attached oxadiazole ring. The nucleophilic substitution of the fluoride with the phenolate groups led to the formation of an ether linkage. Subsequently, a hyperbranched poly(aryl ether oxadiazole) having approximately a 44% degree of branching, as determined by a combination of model compound studies and 1H NMR, was obtained. The terminal phenolic groups underwent facile functionalization, furnishing hyperbranched polymers with a variety of functional chain ends. The nature of the chain‐end groups had a significant influence on the physical properties of the polymers, such as the glass‐transition temperature and their solubility. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Two poly(aryl ether)s containing naphthyl moieties were prepared from bis(3,5-dimethyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)naphthyl methane (monomer 1) via nucleophilic aromatic substitution polycondensation with bis(4-fluorophenyl) ketone and bis(4-fluorophenyl) sulfone.The structures of these polymers were confirmed by ~1H NMR.The M_n values of the two polymers were 96,200 and 88,600, respectively.The polymers exhibited good thermal stabilities with 5%mass loss at T>400℃and high glass-transition temperature(T_g) of T>250℃...  相似文献

A novel alkoxysilyl-functionalized poly(phthalazinone ether ketone)(PPEK)was prepared for the boundary lubricant application in micro-electro-mechanical system(MEMS).The synthesis of functionalized PPEK was started from the hydro- xylation of PPEK,then following with the corresponding ring-opening reaction of 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane(GPTMS). Silicon-containing divinyl ether monomers were synthesized by the addition reaction of glycidyl vinyl ether ( 1 ) with various silyl dichlorides using tetra-n-butylammonium bromide (TBAB) as a catalyst. The reaction of 1 with diphenyl dichlorosilane gave bis-[1-(chloromethyl)-2-(vinyloxy)-ethyl]diphenyl silane ( 3a ) in 89% yield. Polycondensations of 3a with terephthalic acid were also carried out using 1,8-Diazabicyclo[5.4.0]-7-undecene (DBU) to afford silicon-containing polyfunctional vinyl ether oligomers ( 5 ). A multifunctional Si-monomer with both vinyl ether and methacrylate groups ( 7 ) was prepared by the reaction of 3a with potassium methacrylate using TBAB as a phase transfer catalyst. Photoinitiated cationic polymerizations of these vinyl ether compounds proceeded rapidly using the sulfonium salt, bis-[4-(diphenyl-sulfonio)phenyl]sulfide-bis-hexafluorophoshate (DPSP), as the cationic photoinitiator in neat mixtures upon UV irradiation. Multifunctional monomer 7 with both vinyl ether and methacrylate groups showed “hybrid curing properties” using both DPSP and the radical photoinitiator, 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphoshine oxide (TPO). © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A new series of cationically polymerizable mono-, di- and multifunctional 1-butenyl ether monomers have been prepared in high yields by the ruthenium catalyzed isomerization of the corresponding crotyl (2-butenyl) ethers. Their straightforward synthesis and high reactivity in photoinitiated cationic polymerization make these monomers highly attractive for a variety of applications. A novel series of poly(aryl ether sulfone ketone)s (PPESKs) containing phthalazinone and biphenyl moieties were prepared by two-step nucleophilic polycondensation reaction. The ^-Mw values of these copolymers were between 38,330 and 67,900. The glass transition temperatures (Tg) and 5% decomposition temperatures were ranged in 253-269 ℃ and 488-500 ℃, respectively, The structures of these copolymers were confirmed by FT-IR and ^1H NMR. Moreover, all the resultant copolymers were amorphous determined by wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD).  相似文献

A series of new poly(aryl ether)s containing the pyrimidine moiety were prepared by a nucleophilic aromatic substitution polymerization reaction in an aprotic solvent (DMAc) in the presence of excess potassium carbonate. These polymers are high molecular weight, amorphous, and soluble in common solvents at room temperature. The polymers are easily cast from solution into flexible, colorless, and transparent films. They showed high glass transition temperatures ranging from 198 to 304°C by DSC analysis. The 5% weight losses by thermogravimetric analysis ranged from 478 to 580°C, indicating that these polymers are very thermostable in nitrogen and air. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Two multifunctional aromatic urethane acrylates, based on 2, 4‐toluene diisocyanate (2, 4‐TDI), β‐hydroxyethyl arcylate (HEA), and synthetic multifunctional hydroxyl compounds, were synthesized by classical condensation reaction. FTIR was used to monitor the process of the reaction. The photopolymerization kinetics of the urethane acrylates with different photoinitiators was studied by Real‐Time Infrared Spectroscopy. The results indicated that different from the commercial urethane acrylate CN 975, the synthetic multifunctional urethane acrylates could be efficiently initiated by BP without the addition of any co‐initiators as they have tertiary amine structures. A novel AB2 monomer, 4‐(fluorophenyl)‐4′,4″‐(bishydroxyphenyl) phosphine oxide, was synthesized. The monomer was successfully polymerized to a modest molecular weight with various catalysts, including K2CO3 and Cs2CO3/Mg(OH)2. 4-Chloro-2,5-bis(4-fluorophenyl)oxazole monomer has successfully been synthesized using cyclization reaction of 4-fluorobenzoyl cyanide with 4-fluorobenzaldehyde. This monomer was converted to poly(aryl ether)s by nucleophilic substitution of the fluorine atoms on the benzene rings of oxazole monomer with bisphenol A. The influence of the reaction time on the molecular weight had been investigated. The polymers were identified by FT-IR,1H-NMR and TGA. The products exhibited weight-average molar masses up to 2.81 x 104g mol−1 in GPC. These poly(aryl ether)s showed very high thermal stability up to 363 °C for 5 % weight loss in TGA under N2.  相似文献

A series of novel poly(aryl ether nitrile)s containing phthalazinone moiety were synthesized by the nucleophilic displacement reaction of bisphenol-like monomers (I) with 2,6-difluorobenzonitrile. The inherent viscosities ranged from 0.46 to 1.07 dL g^-1. The glass transition temperatures were in the range of 277-295℃, and the temperatures for 10% weight loss in nitrogen atmosphere were found between 495 and 527 ℃. The structures of these resultant polymers were confirmed by FT-IR and 1^H NMR. Moreover, the properties of poly(aryl ether nitrile)s including solubility and crystallinity were also studied.  相似文献

Two novel heterocyclic diamine monomers: 1,2-dihydro-2-(4-aminophenyl)-4-[ 4-( 4-aminophenoxy) phenyl ]-(2H )-phtha-lazin-1-one and 1, 2-dihydro-2-( 4-aminophenyl )-4-[ 4-( 4-aminophenoxy) -3, 5-dimethylphenyl ] - (2H) -phthalazin-1-one were successfully synthesized using readily available heterocyclic bisphenol-like monomers through two steps in high yield. A series of novel poly( aryl ether amide)s containing the phthalazinone moiety with inherent viscosities of 1.16-1.67 dL/g were prepared by the direct polymerization of the novel diamines and aromatic dicarboxylic acids using triphenyl phosphite and pyridine as condensing agents. The polymers were readily soluble in a variety of solvents such as N, N-dimethyl-formamide (DMF), N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc), dimethylsulfoxide ( DMSO ), N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP), and pyridine. The polymers had high glass transition temperatures (Tg) in the 291-329℃ range.  相似文献
