Some very unusual features of the hadron structure functions, obtained in generalized QCD sum rules, like the surprisingly strong difference between longitudinally and transversally polarized ρ-meson structure functions and the strong suppression of the gluon sea in the longitudinally polarized ρ meson, are discussed. The polarized distribution functions of mesons, including pion, kaon and eta, using the proton structure function, are calculated. We are looking for a relationship between the polarized distribution of mesons and the polarized structure of nucleons. We show that the meson polarized parton distributions leads to zero total spin for the concerned mesons, considering the orbital angular momentum of quarks and gluons inside the meson. Two separate Monte Carlo algorithms are applied to compute the polarized parton distributions of the kaon.Via the mass dependence of quark distributions, the distribution function of the eta meson is obtained.A new method by which the polarized sea quark distributions of protons are evolved separately-which cannot be performed easily using the standard solution of DGLAP equations-is introduced. The mass dependence of these distributions is obtained, using the renormalization group equation which makes their evolutions more precise.Comparison between the evolved distributions and the available experimental data validates the suggested solutions for separated evolutions.  相似文献

We use the constituent quark model to extract polarized parton distributions and finally polarized nucleon structure function.Due to limited experimental data which do not cover whole(x,Q2)plane and to increase the reliability of the fitting,we employ the Jacobi orthogonal polynomials expansion. It will be possible to extract the polarized structure functions for Helium, using the convolution of the nucleon polarized structure functions with the light cone moment distribution. The results are in good agreement with available experimental data and some theoretical models.  相似文献

We present a fit to spin asymmetries which gives polarized quark distributions. These functions are closely related to the ones given by the Martin, Roberts and Stirling fit for unpolarized structure functions. The integrals of polarized distributions are discussed and compared with the corresponding quantities obtained from neutron and hyperon??-decay data. We use the combination of proton, neutron and deuteron spin asymmetries in order to determine the coefficients of our polarized quark distributions. Our fit shows that phenomenologically there is no need for taking polarized gluons into account.  相似文献

Photoemission electron microscopy performed on a well-prepared surface of BaTiO3 reveals the persistence of surface domains at temperatures well above the bulk Curie temperature. Their patterns follow the ferroelectric domain structure observed at 300 K. The contrast between formerly outward polarized domains and in-plane polarized domains is preserved across the transition, while the contrast of inward polarized domains changes sign. The work functions of different possible structures are compared by first-principles calculations. The domain contrast in photoemission above the bulk Curie temperature is associated with a remaining tetragonal distortion of the topmost unit cells which is stabilized by an ionic surface relaxation.  相似文献

Expressions are derived for the vector and axial form factors of nucleons in the covariant parton model. Using core models their asymptotic behaviors are obtained and related to the spin averaged and polarized structure functions of electroproduction, giving rise to relations of the Drell-Yan-West type. It is found that the model is gauge invariant and has no second-class axial currents. For the polarized structure functions, the Drell-Yan-West relation depends on the core spin.  相似文献

Quark mass effects are included in the calculation of polarized structure functions. In particular, the validity of fixed order perturbation theory and of massless evolution is studied in the framework of heavy quarks structure functions. The polarized version of the ACOT and MRRS interpolating schemes for the evolution of massive quarks distributions is also developed and studied. The different behaviours of the various approaches in x and Q2 are shown.  相似文献

A detailed review of the current state of investigations into polarized deep inelastic scattering (DIS) is presented. Special attention is given to the methods of the QCD analysis of experimental data on these processes and to the methods of extrapolation of polarized structure functions and polarized quark distributions in the regions inaccessible to current experiments. In the case of pure inclusive processes, the QCD analysis of all worldwide data, including the latest COMPASS data, is presented in detail. Special attention is given to such important components of the nucleon-spin problem as the polarized strangeness and polarized gluon distribution. The features of SIDIS processes are considered; in particular, the role of fragmentation functions in the analysis of the semi-inclusive data is discussed. The methods of extracting the fragmentation functions from experimental data are considered in detail, and the corresponding results are presented. The results of analysis of the existing semi-inclusive polarized data both in the QCD leading order and in the next-to-leading order are considered. Special attention is given to non-standard, so-called difference asymmetries, which make it possible to minimize the dependence of results of analysis on the fragmentation functions. The current methods of QCD analysis of semi-inclusive polarized data are critically reviewed. An alternative method of QCD analysis of semi-inclusive data is presented for next-to-leading order QCD. Advantages of the method in practical applications are illustrated by the example of analysis of the HERMES data.  相似文献

Deep inelastic scattering of neutrinos and antineutrinos by polarized protons is considered in the quark-parton model. For processes with charged currents, a connection is obtained between the asymmetry of the differential cross sections corresponding to different spin directions of the target proton and the distribution functions of the polarized partons in the polarized proton (d for neutrinos and u for antineutrinos). It is shown that the presence of an x dependence of the asymmetry parameter corresponds to a difference between the distribution functions of partons with opposite helicity. For processes with neutral currents, relations are obtained between the asymmetry parameters and the constants that determine the helicity structure of the weak neutral quark current.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 4, pp. 41–45, April, 1980.I thank Professor B. The computation of nucleon structure functions within the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio chiral soliton model is outlined. After some technical remarks on the issue of regularization numerical results for the both unpolarized and polarized structure functions are presented. The generalization to flavor SU(3) is sketched.  相似文献

Target mass correction (TMC) is employed to amend the polarized helium structure functions, 3He . The structure function can be obtained via the convolution of the light cone momentum distribution with the polarized structure of the proton and neutron. The calculation of the polarized structure function of the nucleon is based on the constituent quark model. The analytical result for 3He polarized structure function at low values of Q2 is not in good agreement with the available experimental data. The reliability of calculations is increased using TMC effect. New comparison confirms a better agreement with the experimental data.  相似文献

We determine the quark distributions and structure functions for both unpolarized and polarized DIS of leptons on nucleons and nuclei. The scalar and vector mean fields in the nucleus modify the motions of the quarks inside the nucleons. By taking into account this medium modification, we are able to reproduce the experimental data on the unpolarized EMC effect, and to make predictions for the polarized EMC effect. We discuss examples of nuclei where the polarized EMC effect could be measured. We finally present an extension of our model to describe fragmentation functions.  相似文献

The polarized parton distribution functions (PDFs) and nuclear structure functions are evaluated by the phenomenological Thermodynamical Bag Model for nuclear media 7Li and 27Al. The Fermi statistical distribution function which includes the spin degree of freedom is used in this statistical model. We predict a sizeable polarized EMC effect. The results of quark spin sum and axial coupling constant of bound nucleons are compared with theoretical predictions of modified Nambu–Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model by Bentz et al.  相似文献

Formal expressions are derived for all possible polarization observables in deuteron electrodisintegration with longitudinally polarized incoming electrons, oriented deuteron targets and polarization analysis of outgoing nucleons. They are given in terms of general structure functions which can be determined experimentally. These structure functions are Hermitean forms of theT-matrix elements which, in principle, allow the determination of allT-matrix elements up to an arbitrary common phase. Since the set of structure functions is overcomplete, linear relations among various structure functions exist which are derived explicitly.Supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (SFB 201)  相似文献

Some non-perturbative aspects of the nucleon quark spin structure are reviewed. The first part is a brief summary of early theoretical developments in the field of polarized deep inelastic scattering of electrons on polarized nucleons and an illustration of the non-perturbative power of lattice QCD 25 years later. The second part is a short pedagogical introduction to the analysis of high energy scattering in the complex angular momentum plane, with particular emphasis on spin-dependent deep inelastic electron-nucleon scattering. The third part comprises a brief introduction to lattice QCD and its applications in the non-perturbative determination of the spin-dependent structure functions.  相似文献

The spin structure of nucleons is presented in the framework of an extended quark model which in addition to the conventional qqq structure also takes into account qqqq(q) admixtures in the nucleon wave functions, where the qqqq(q) components are in colored quark cluster configurations. The axial vector weak coupling constant and spin distributions for polarized nucleons as well as spin content are obtained for the lowest positive parity qqqq(q) configurations in flavor-spin dependent interaction. In particular, the contributions of the down and strange quarks to the proton spin and the sum rule for polarized neutron are negative, in agreement with recent experiments.  相似文献
