Dispersion relation is obtained for a nonlinear unpolarized surface wave propagating along a boundary between vacuum and a magnetoactive plasma in a geometry when a dc-magnetic field is parallel to both the boundary and the propagation of the surface wave. A general approach used is based on the knowledge of the corresponding first integral of Maxwell's equations. 相似文献

Conclusions In this paper we have studied the dispersion characteristics of nonpotential surface waves in two- and three-layered magnetized wave-bearing structures. For the case of a vacuum cavity in an infinite plasma, we have obtained an analytic solution for the SW frequency in a regime which is highly nonpotential. We have shown that when the thickness of the plasma layer in a vacuum-plsma-vacuum waveguide is reduced, the dispersion changes its character.We have investigated numerically how magnetic fields, the radii of the cylinders, and the azimuthal wave number affect the LF and HF branches of the spectrum of surface waves.Khar'kov State University. The nonlinear properties of surface charges are here analyzed under ideal conditions. We thus deduce a new single equation from the wellknown equations which govern the cold electron plasma motion. Landau studied the longitudinal field penetration into a semi-bounded plasma considering specularly reflecting electrons at the boundary. Kurilko and Popov and then Gorman examined the same problem considering a fraction “p” of all incident electrons reflecting specularly and the remaining portion difusely. Lastly, Mason treated the same problem at length and gave solutions for specular and diffuse reflections. Here the penetration of transverse electromagnetic waves into magnetoactive semi-bounded plasma has been studied and the electric field for specular reflection of electrons is obtained. 相似文献

It is shown that a cylindrical metallic waveguide fully filled with a magnetoactive plasma can propagate coupled ordinarily polarized bulk and extraordinarily polarized surface waves along its azimuthal direction. Interaction between these waves is studied in the case when an external magnetic field has axial and azimuthal components. For the case of a regular profile, a practically convenient analytical expression for a correction to the eigenfrequency of the waves that is due to the external azimuthal magnetic field is derived. 相似文献

The paper derives the general form of the tensor of dielectric permittivity? ij(ω,k), Eq. (15), of non-relativistic hot magnetoactive collisionless plasma taking into consideration the influence of spatial dispersion. The general form of the tensor? ij(ω,k) is used to express the tensorε ij(ω,k) in the region of weak and strong spatial dispersion and in some special cases. A general dispersion equation (30) is derived and an analysis is made of the waves propagating in hot magnetoactive plasma. The stability of high‐frequency potential surface waves at a dense magnetized plasma – metal interface with respect to a low‐frequency plasma density modulation is studied in the point of view of the surface waves control. The discussion is addressed to the situation, when an external steady magnetic field is directed perpendicularly to the interface. The nonlinear interaction process of the high‐frequency surface wave, its satellites and the low‐frequency plasma density perturbation is investigated. It is shown that the low‐frequency plasma density perturbation can be represented as a superposition of forced waves of surface and volume types and can lead to an additional attenuation of the surface waves.
