We have explored a new and facile method for the fabrication of metal nanoparticles on the electrode surface. The approach for fabricating metal nanoparticles was carried out by two steps consisting of ion-exchange in nafion film coated on the electrode and subsequent reduction of metal ions to metallic nanoparticles by electrochemical method. The results of characterization by TEM show that metal nanoparticles were nearly monodispersed in the whole nafion film. The average diameters of Cu, Co and Ni nanoparticles were statistically measured to be 5.1 nm ± 0.2 nm, 4.6 nm ± 0.2 nm and 4.7 nm ± 0.2 nm, respectively. The amount of metal nanoparticles can be readily controlled by the amount of nafion coated on the electrode. By performing the H2O2 reduction at the obtained Cu nanoparticles, the high electrocatalytic activity of metal nanoparticles fabricated has been confirmed.  相似文献

A novel strategy to achieve 3D pattern transfer into silicon in a single step without using lithography is presented. Etching is performed electrochemically in HF media by contacting silicon with a positively biased, patterned, metal electrode. Dissolution is localized at the Si/metal contacts and patterning is obtained as the electrode digs into the substrate. Previous attempts at imprinting Si using bulk metal electrodes have been limited by electrolyte blockage. Here, the problem is solved by using, for the first time, a nanoporous metal electrode that allows the electrolyte to access the entire Si/metal interface, irrespective of the electrode dimensions. As a proof of concept, imprinting of well-defined arrays of inverted pyramids has been performed with sub-micrometer spatial resolution over 1 mm2 using a nanoporous gold electrode of the complementary shape. Under a polarization of + 0.3 V/SME in 5 M HF, the etch rate is ~ 0.5 μm min 1. The pyramidal pattern is imprinted independently of the Si crystallographic orientation. This maskless imprinting technique opens new opportunities in the fabrication of Si microstructures.  相似文献

Early stages of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) formation at a tin foil electrode in an ethylene carbonate (EC) based electrolyte were investigated by in situ AFM and cyclic voltammetry (CV) at potentials >0.7 V, i.e., above the potential of Sn–Li alloying. We detected and observed initial steps of the surface film formation at ~2.8 V vs. Li/Li+ followed by gradual film morphology changes at potentials 0.7 < U < 2.5 V. The SEI layer undergoes continuous reformation during the following CV cycles between 0.7 and 2.5 V. The surface film on Sn does not effectively prevent the electrolyte reduction and a large fraction of the reaction products dissolve in the electrolyte. The unstable SEI layer on Sn in EC-based electrolytes may compromise the use of tin-based anodes in Li-ion battery systems unless the interfacial chemistry of the electrode and/or electrolyte is modified.  相似文献

An innovative experimental approach to study the electrodeposition of small nanoparticles and the early stages of electrochemical nucleation and growth is presented. Carbon coated gold TEM grids are used as substrates for the electrodeposition of silver nanoparticles so that electrochemical data, FESEM, HAADF–STEM and HRTEM data can be acquired from the same sample without the need to remove the particles from the substrate. It is shown that the real distribution of nanoparticles cannot be resolved by FESEM whereas HAADF–STEM analysis confirms that a distribution of ‘small’ nanoparticles (d  1–2 nm) coexist with ‘large’ nanoparticles corresponding to a bimodal size distribution. Besides, particles grown under the same conditions have been found to present different structures such as monocrystals, polycrystals or aggregates of smaller particles.  相似文献

In this paper a single electrode supported direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) is fabricated and tested. The novel architecture combines the elimination of the polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) and the integration of the anode and cathode into one component. The thin film fabrication involves a sequential deposition of an anode catalyst layer, a cellulose acetate electronic insulating layer and a cathode catalyst layer onto a single carbon fibre paper substrate. The single electrode supported DMFC has a total thickness of 3.88 × 10?2 cm and showed a 104% improvement in volumetric specific power density over a two electrode DMFC configuration under passive conditions at ambient temperature and pressure (1 atm, 25 °C).  相似文献

Gold nanoparticles have been electrodeposited on an electrode through electrogeneration at an ITO|AuCl4? solution in an ionic liquid|aqueous electrolyte three-phase junction. The electrodeposition was carried out by inverted double-pulse potential chronoamperometry. The direct reduction of AuCl4? ions at the electrode is followed by a counterion transfer through the liquid|liquid interface. Contrary to the electrodeposition from a single ionic liquid phase, scanning electron microscopy reveals that the shape of the resulting nanoparticles is highly angular and well-developed with a diameter of 110 ± 30 nm. Catalytic oxidation of glucose on the modified electrode is demonstrated.  相似文献

We have successfully developed a new process to prepare porous poly(methyl methacrylate-co-acrylonitrile) (P(MMA-AN)) copolymer based gel electrolyte. The porous structure in the polymer matrix is achieved by adding SnO2 nanoparticles which are mostly used as gas sensor materials. The quasi-aromatic solvent, NMP, has an electron-repulsion effect with the space charge layer on the surface of SnO2 nanoparticles and forms a special gas–liquid phase interface. Once the cast polymer solution is stored at an elevated temperature to evaporate the solvent, gas–liquid phase separation happens and spherical pores are obtained. The ionic conductivity at room temperature of the prepared gel polymer electrolyte based on the porous membrane is as high as 1.54 × 10−3 S cm−1 with the electrochemical stability up to 5.10 V (vs. Li/Li+). This method presents another promising way to prepare porous polymer electrolyte for practical use.  相似文献

The effect of electrochemically ageing hydrous nickel oxide films via slow repetitive potential multi-cycling across the main nickel (II/III) redox peak was investigated in an aqueous base environment using cyclic voltammetry and steady state polarisation curves in the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) region. Similarities between hydrous nickel oxide films and electroprecipitated ‘battery type’ nickel oxide were shown due to their similar change in redox and oxygen evolving properties as a result of film ageing. This ageing method was found to significantly enhance the OER performance of the hydrous nickel oxide electrode with the OER overpotential decreasing by 60 ± 2 mV and experiencing a 10 fold increase in OER rate for a fixed overpotential over that of an un-aged electrode. The OER turnover frequency for an aged electrode was found to be 1.16 ± 0.07 s 1 in comparison to 0.05 ± 0.003 s 1 for a hydrous nickel oxide electrode not subjected to ageing.  相似文献

We have explored electrochemically deposited pervoskite nanocrystalline porous bismuth iron oxide (BiFeO3) thin film electrode from alkaline bath for electrochemical supercapacitors. The pervoskite BiFeO3 nanocrystalline thin film electrode showed comparable specific capacitance of 81 F g−1 and electrochemical supercapacitive performance and stability in an aqueous NaOH electrolyte to that of commonly used ruthenium based pervoskites.  相似文献

Porous SnO2 nanotubes were prepared via electrospinning followed by calcination in air. As anode materials for lithium ion batteries, the porous nanotubes delivered a high discharge capacity of 807 mAh g? 1 after 50 cycles. Even after cycled at high rates, the electrode still retained a high fraction of its theoretical capacity. Such excellent performances of porous SnO2 nanotubes could be attributed to the porous and hollow structure which facilitated liquid electrolyte diffusion into the bulk materials and buffered large volume changes during lithium ions insertion/extraction. Furthermore, the nanoparticles of nanotubes provided the shorter diffusion length for lithium ions insertion which benefited in retaining the structural stability and good rate performance. Our results demonstrated that this simple method could be extended for the synthesis of porous metal oxide nanotubes with high performances in the applications of lithium ion batteries and other fields.  相似文献

In this study, we report the fabrication of the indium tin oxide (ITO) glass electrode modified with iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) and nafion for glucose biosensor applications. The IONPs was synthesized using the precipitation method and functionalized with citric acid (CA) to provide hydrophilic surface and functional group for glucose oxidase (GOx) enzyme immobilization. The structural and morphological studies of CA-IONPs were characterized using X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The size of the IONPs measured from TEM image was ∼17 nm. The bioelectrode designated as Nafion/GOx/CA-IONPs/ITO was developed by drop casting of the CA-IONPs, GOx and nafion on the ITO glass. The Nafion/GOx/CA-IONPs/ITO bioelectrode showed good electrochemical performance for glucose detection. The functionalized CA-IONPs acted as the catalyst and help to improve the electron transfer rate between GOx and ITO electrode. In addition, thin nafion film was coated on the electrode to prevent interference and improve chemical stability. The Nafion/GOx/CA-IONPs/ITO bioelectrode showed high sensitivity of 70.1 μAmM-1cm-2 for the linear range of 1.0-8.0 mM glucose concentrations.  相似文献

The electrode–electrolyte nanocomposites, where the nano-sized NiS electrode with large capacity was embedded in the 80Li2S · 20P2S5 electrolyte with high Li+ conductivity, were successfully prepared by the mechanochemical method. Contact area of solid–solid interface between the electrode and the electrolyte was remarkably increased in the nanocomposites. All-solid-state cell using the nanocomposites as a working electrode exhibited larger capacity and better cycling performance than the cell using the electrode obtained by conventional hand-mixing of powders. The mechanochemical technique sheds light on a new formation process of electrode–electrolyte interfaces endowing solid-state batteries with high power density and high energy density.  相似文献

A simple, cheap and versatile, polyol-mediated fabrication method has been extended to the synthesis of tin oxide nanoparticles on a large scale. Ultrafine SnO2 nanoparticles with crystallite sizes of less than 5 nm were realized by refluxing SnCl2 · 2H2O in ethylene glycol at 195 °C for 4 h under vigorous stirring in air. The as-prepared SnO2 nanoparticles exhibited enhanced Li-ion storage capability and cyclability, demonstrating a specific capacity of 400 mAh g−1 beyond 100 cycles.  相似文献

The Al–Sn, which is immiscible alloy, film was prepared by e-beam deposition to explore the possibility as anode material for lithium ion batteries for the first time. The film has a complex structure with tiny Sn particles dispersed homogeneously in the Al active matrix. The diffusion coefficients of Li+ in these Al–Sn alloy films were determined to be 2.1–3.2 × 10−8 cm2/s by linear sweep voltammetry. The film electrode with high Al content (Al–33wt%Sn) delivered a high initial discharge capacity of 972.8 mA h g−1, while the film electrode with high Sn content (Al–64wt%Sn) with an initial discharge capacity of 552 mA h g−1 showed good cycle performance indicated by retaining a capacity of about 381 mA h g−1 after 60 cycles. Our preliminary results demonstrate that Al–Sn immiscible alloy is a potential candidate for anodic material of lithium ion batteries.  相似文献

All-solid-state phosphate symmetric cells using Li3V2(PO4)3 for both the positive and negative electrodes with the phosphate Li1.5Al0.5Ge1.5(PO4)3 as the solid electrolyte were proposed. Amorphous Li1.5Al0.5Ge1.5(PO4)3 was added into the electrode to increase the interface area between the active materials and the electrolyte. Any other phases were not formed at the electrode/electrolyte interface even after hot pressing at 600 °C. The discharge capacity was 92 mAh g? 1 at 22 µA cm? 2 at 80 °C, and 38 mAh g? 1 at 25 °C, respectively. Symmetric cell configuration leads to simplify the fabrication process for all-solid-state batteries and will reduce manufacturing costs.  相似文献

Vanadium nitride thin film has been coupled with electrodeposited nickel oxide in order to design an electrochemical capacitor microdevice. VN has been used as negative electrode while NiO was used as the positive one in 1 M KOH electrolyte. VN exhibits a pseudo-capacitive behavior while NiO shows a faradaic behavior. This asymmetric microdevice has been operated between 0.5 and up to 1.8 V in aqueous based electrolyte (1 M KOH). Long term cycling ability (10,000 charge/discharge cycles) has been demonstrated with interesting energy (1.0 μW h cm 2) and power (40 mW cm 2) densities.  相似文献

The effect of a static magnetic field on the evolution of hydrogen gas from a small platinum electrode in an aqueous electrolyte has been studied by recording the noise spectrum of overpotential voltage fluctuations at a constant current density of ?50 mA mm?2. A 1/f2 variation of the power spectrum characteristic of droplet coalescence is found for frequencies >10 Hz. The overpotential for hydrogen evolution decreases with applied field. When the production of gas bubbles is quasiperiodic, there is a threshold field of 0.5 T beyond which the size of the bubbles released is approximately doubled. This is explained by enhanced coalescence of small bubbles swept across the electrode surface by forced convection due to the Lorentz force.  相似文献

Preliminary progress is reported in this communication in building a planar anode-supported low-temperature solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) stack based on gadolinia-doped ceria (GDC) electrolyte, i.e. fabrication and characterization of a Ø80 planar bilayer structure composed of GDC electrolyte film and Ni–GDC anode substrate. The anode substrates were prepared from mixtures of NiO, GDC, and carbon black by die-pressing. After pre-firing to remove the carbon black, the anode substrates were deposited with a GDC layer using a spray coating technique. The green bilayers of anode substrate and electrolyte film were then co-sintered at 1500 °C for 3 h. Through proper control of the sintering process, bilayer structures with excellent flatness were achieved after co-sintering. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation indicated that the electrolyte film was about 22 μm in thickness, highly dense, crack-free, and well-bonded to the anode substrate. Small disks which were cut out from the Ø80 bilayer structure were electrochemically examined in a single button-cell mode incorporating a (LaSr)(CoFe)O3–GDC composite cathode. With humidified hydrogen as the fuel and air as the oxidant, the cell demonstrated an open-circuit voltage of 0.884 V and a maximum power density of 562 mW/cm2 at 600 °C. The results imply that high-quality anode-supported electrolyte/anode bilayer structures were successfully fabricated. Based on them, planar anode-supported SOFC stacks will be assembled in the future.  相似文献

Submicro/micro-scaled spherical Sn–Ni–C alloy powders synthesized from oxides of Sn and Ni via carbothermal reduction at 900 °C were examined for use as anode materials in Li-ion battery. The synthesized spherical Sn–Ni–C particles show a loose micro-sized structure and a multi-phase composition. The reaction product carbon oxide gases yielded in the carbothermal reduction process should be responsible to the loose structure characteristics of Sn–Ni–C particles. The prepared Sn–Ni–C alloy composite electrode exhibits a stable reversible capacity of 310 mA h g−1 at constant current density of 100 mA g−1, and can be retained at 290 mA h g−1 after 25 cycles. The space existing in loose particle can accommodate the large volume changes during charge/discharge cycling. The ductile component Ni plays as a buffer to relieve the mechanical stress induced by the large volume changes upon cycling. The remained carbon can prevent the aggregation between small alloy particles. All these factors contribute greatly to the excellent cycling stability of Sn–Ni–C alloy electrode. This carbothermal reduction method is simple, cheap and mass-productive, thus suitable to large scale production of alloy anode powders used for lithium ion batteries.  相似文献

A novel all-solid-state thin-film-type rechargeable lithium-ion battery employing in situ prepared both positive and negative electrode materials is proposed. A lithium-ion conducting solid electrolyte sheet of Li2O–Al2O3–TiO2–P2O5-based glass–ceramic manufactured by OHARA Inc. (OHARA sheet) was used as the solid electrolyte, which was sandwiched by Cu and Mn metal films. The Cu/OHARA sheet/Mn layer became an all-solid-state lithium-ion battery after applying d.c. 16 V to the layer, and the resultant battery operated at 0.3–0.8 V with reversible capacity of 0.45 μAh cm?2. High voltage battery was successfully prepared by applying the d.c. high voltage to a five-series of Cu/OHARA sheet/Mn layer, resulting in all-solid-state battery operating at 1.5–4.0 V. The proposed fabrication process will become a new technology to develop advanced all-solid-state rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.  相似文献
