The Green‘s functions and the correlation functions in spin-2 Bose-Einstein condensates at finite temperature are defined and the generalized Dyson-Beliaev equations are introduced. We discuss the spin conservation in z direction and decouple thre Green‘s functions and the generalized Dyson-Beliaev equations according to different spin conservations in z direction. The anomalous vertex functions are introduced and the self-energies are separated into the proper self-energies and the improper self-energies. The generalized Dyson-Beliaev equations are decoupled according to separation of the self-energies. We calculate the Green‘s functions step by step in the Bogoliubov approximation and discuss the collective excitations in spin-2 Bose-Einstein condensates in the polar, ferromagnetic, and cyclic cases, respectively.  相似文献

We numerically simulate the dynamics of a spin-2 Bose-Einstein condensate. We find that the initial phase plays an important role in the spin component oscillations. The spin mixing processes can fully cancel out due to quantum interference when taking some initial special phase. In all the spin mixing processes, the total spin is conversed. When the initial population is mainly occupied by a component with the maximal or minimal magnetic quantum number, the oscillations of spin components cannot happen due to the total spin conversation. The presence of quadratic Zeeman energy terms suppresses some spin mixing processes so that the oscillations of spin components are suppressed in some initial spin configuration. However, the linear Zeeman energy terms have no effects on the spin mixing processes.  相似文献

Spatial Chaos of Bose-Einstein Condensates in a Cigar-Shaped Trap   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The spatial chaos of Bose-Einstein condensates in a cigar-shaped trap is studied. For a system with a steady current, we construct the general solution of the 1st-order equation. From the boundedness condition of the general solution, we obtain the Melnikov function predicting the onset of chaos. The unpredictability of the system's distribution of atom density is also theoretically analyzed. For a 23Na system meeting the perturbation condition, numerical simulations show the existence of chaos, which is in accordance with our analytical results. Numerical simulations of a 87 Rb system dissatisfying the perturbation condition also demonstrate that there exists chaos in the system. The case without a current is also investigated.  相似文献

It is shown that the atomic tunneling current and the Shapiro-like steps strongly depend on the initial number of atoms in each condensate and the initial phase difference between the two condensates which are initially in even(odd) coherent states. The nonlinearity of interatomic interactions in the two condensates may lead to the atomic tunneling current and Shapiro-like step between the two condensates. It is found that the interatomic nonlinear interactions can induce the atomic tunneling current and Shapiro-like step between two condensates even though there does not exist the interspecies Josephson-like tunneling coupling. The static atomic tunneling current flows in positive or negative direction, which depends on the phase difference of the two-species condensates.  相似文献

The higher-order interactions of Bose-Einstein condensate in multi-dimensional optical lattices are discussed both analytically and numerically. It is demonstrated that the effects of the higher-order atomic interactions on the sound speed and the stabilities of Bloch waves strongly depend on the lattice strength. In the presence of higher-order effects, tighter and high-dimensional lattices are confirmed to be two positive factors for maintaining the system's energetic stability, and the dynamical instability of Bloch waves can take place simultaneously with the energetic instability. In addition,we find that the higher-order interactions exhibit a long-range behavior and the long-lived coherent Bloch oscillations in a tilted optical lattice exist. Our results provide an effective way to probe the higher-order interactions in optical lattices.  相似文献

Using variational method, the wave function of a quasi two-dimensionalBose-Einstein Condensate in an anharmonic trap is analyzed and the influence of gravity on the collective excitations is studied. It is found that the effect of gravity on the condensate has got crucial dependence on the anharmonicity of the trap.  相似文献

The Rabi oscillations in two-component Bose-Einstein condensates with a coupling drive are studiedby means of a pair of bosonic operators. The coupling drive and initial phase difference will affect the amplitudeand the period of the Rabi oscillations. The Rabi oscillations will vanish in the evolution of the condensate densityfor some special initial phase differences (ψ = 0 or π). Our theory provides not only an analytical framework forquantitative predictions for two-component condensates, but also gives an intuitive understanding of some mysteriousfeatures observed in experiments and numerical. simulations.  相似文献

In this paper, tunnelling dynamics of squeezed Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC's) in the presence of the nonlinear self-interaction of each species, the interspecies nonlinear interaction, and the Josephson-like tunnelling interaction is investigated by using the second quantization approach. The influence of BEC squeezing on macroscopic quantum self-trapping (MQST) and quantum coherent atomic tunnelling is analyzed in detail. It is shown that the MQST and coherent atomic tunnelling between two squeezed BEC's can be manipulated through changing squeezing amplitude and squeezing phase of BEC squeezed states.  相似文献

We derive an approximate analytical expression for the ground state of double-well BEC's, which reproduces highly accurately the numerical solution for the whole parameter regimes of the two-body repulsive interaction strength, the total number of atoms, and the hopping parameter.  相似文献

The entanglement entropy of an acoustic black hole in a Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC) is derived, which is associated with the phonons generated via the Hawking mechanism in a sonic hole. Considering the dispersion relation of a BEC, we recalculate the entanglement entropy of the acoustic black hole by means of statistical method in two limits. We find that the entropy is still proportional to the area of event horizon, but with a coefficient dependent on the infrared cutoff.  相似文献

The interference of the two-component Bose-Einstein condensates with a coupling drive in the presence of the dissipation is studied. We find that when the two-component Bose-Einstein condensates are initially in the coherent states, for the smaller dissipation parameters compared with that of the rf frequency ωrf, the interference intensity exhibits damply oscillation behavior, whereas when the dissipation parameters are larger than that of the ωrf, the interference intensity exhibits a fast attenuation behavior. As a comparison, the interference intensity in the absence of the dissipation is also studied. We conclude that the dissipation of the system can be evaluated by selecting the ωrf experimentally.  相似文献

We investigate the Landau--Zener tunnelling of two-componentBose-Einstein condensates (BECs) in optical lattices. In the neighborhood of the Brillouin zone edge, the system can be reduced to two coupled nonlinear two-level models. From the models, we calculate the change of the tunnelling probability for each component with the linear sweeping rate. It is found that the probability for each component exhibits regular oscillating behavior for the larger sweeping rate, but for smaller rate the oscillation is irregular. Moreover, the asymmetry of the tunnelling between the two components can be induced by the unbalanced initial populations or the inequality of the twoself-interactions when the cross-interaction between the components exists. The result can not be found in the single component BECs.  相似文献

For Bose-Einstein condensates trapped in a harmonic potential well, we present numerical results from solving the tlme-dependent nonlinear Schrolinger equation based on the Crank-Nicolson method. With this method we are able to find the ground state wave function and energy by evolving the trial initial wave function in real and imaginary time spaces, respectively. In real time space, the results are in agreement with [Phys. Rev. A 51 (1995) 4704], but the trial wave function is restricted in a very small range. On the contrary, in imaginary time space, the trial wave function can be chosen widely, moreover, the results are stable.  相似文献

The stability of the ground state of two-component Bose-Einstein condensates (BEGs) loaded into the central well of an axially symmetric Bessel lattices (BLs) potential with attractive or repulsive atoms interactions is studied using the time-dependent Gross-Pitaevskii equation (GPE). By using the variational method, we find that stable ground state of two-component BEGs can exist in BLs. The BLs's depth and the intra-species atom interaction play an important role in the stability of ground state. The collapse of two-component BEGs in BLs is also studied and a collapse condition for trapped two-component BEGs is obtained. It is shown that the two-component BEGs exhibit rich collapse dynamics. That is, the two-component BEGs can collapse in the system with both intra- and inter-attractive, or with intra-attractive and inter-repulsive, or with intra-repulsive and inter-attractive atom interactions. Furthermore, the control of the collapse of the two-component BEGs in BLs is discussed in detail. The stability diagram of the ground state in parameter space is obtained. The results show that the collapse of two-component BEGs can be controlled by temporal modulation of the atom interaction.  相似文献
