The perovskite solid solutions of the type La2xSr2−2xCo2xRu2−2xO6 with 0.25≤x≤0.75 have been investigated for their structural, magnetic and transport properties. All the compounds crystallize in double perovskite structure. The magnetization measurements indicate a complex magnetic ground state with strong competition between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic interactions. Resistivity of the compounds is in confirmation with hopping conduction behaviour though differences are noted especially for x=0.4 and 0.6. Most importantly, low field (50 Oe) magnetization measurements display negative magnetization during the zero field cooled cycle. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements indicate the presence of Co2+/Co3+ and Ru4+/Ru5+ redox couples in all compositions except x=0.5. Presence of magnetic ions like Ru4+ and Co3+ gives rise to additional ferromagnetic (Ru-rich) and antiferromagnetic sublattices and also explains the observed negative magnetization.  相似文献

We observe a sharp increase in negative magneto-resistance ratio up to 40% for x=0.1, in La0.5Sr0.5Co1−xRuxO3 which is due to the magnetic disorder induced by an anti-ferromagnetic interaction between Co and Ru ions. We also observe a metal to insulator and a ferromagnetic to anti-ferromagnetic transition for 0≤x≤0.3. Ruthenium (IV) ion disrupts an intermediate spin state of cobalt (Co3+:t2g5eg1), forcing a double exchange mediated ferromagnetic state to an anti-ferromagnetic spin state for x≥0.2.  相似文献

Exchange bias behavior is observed in Ni slightly doped K0.8Fe2−xNixSe2 (x=0.015) single crystal. Two distinguished phases with epitaxial growth were observed in X-ray diffraction experiments, indicating the structure phase separation in our samples. The magnetic hysteresis loop shifts in both horizontal and vertical directions when the sample was cooled down to 3 K in a magnetic field. The nature of this magnetic anisotropy could be understood as a result of the freezing properties of the local spin disorders in cluster like spin-glass system. Our results suggest that the sample contains short range weak ferromagnetic clusters (phase 2) embedding in the antiferromagnetic backgrounds (phase 1), in which the random distribution of Ni on Fe or Fe-vacancy sites quenched the superconductivity and induced spin disorders.  相似文献

The effects of nonmagnetic impurities (Fe2+ in a low spin state) on the weakferromagnetism in NiS2 were investigated. The weak-ferromagnetic moment decreases rapidly with Fe content (x) and almost vanishes at about x = 0.05. On the other hand, Tc remains quite constant. Above Tc, two anomalies in the temperature dependence of the susceptibility were observed except for samples with x = 0 and 0.006. The effective magnetic determined from the susceptibility above Tc is about 3 μB/Ni, and is independent of x. Discussions are given on the origin of weakferromagnetism and on the hysteresis of the virgin magnetization curve.  相似文献

Polycrystalline Sn1−xMnxO2 (0≤x≤0.05) diluted magnetic semiconductors were prepared by solid-state reaction method and their structural and magnetic properties had been investigated systematically. The three Mn-doped samples (x=0.01, 0.03, 0.05) undergo paramagnetic to ferromagnetic phase transitions upon cooling, but their Curie temperatures are far lower than room temperature. The magnetization cannot be attributed to any identified impurity phase. It is also found that the magnetization increases with increasing Mn doping, while the ratio of the Mn ions contributing to ferromagnetic ordering to the total Mn ions decreases.  相似文献

(In1−xFex)2O3 (x = 0.02, 0.05, 0.2) powders were prepared by a solid state reaction method and a vacuum annealing process. A systematic study was done on the structural and magnetic properties of (In1−xFex)2O3 powders as a function of Fe concentration and annealing temperature. The X-ray diffraction and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy results confirmed that there were not any Fe or Fe oxide secondary phases in vacuum-annealed (In1−xFex)2O3 samples and the Fe element was incorporated into the indium oxide lattice by substituting the position of indium atoms. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed that both Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions existed in the samples. Magnetic measurements indicated that all samples were ferromagnetic with the magnetic moment of 0.49-1.73 μB/Fe and the Curie temperature around 783 K. The appearance of ferromagnetism was attributed to the ferromagnetic coupling of Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions via an electron trapped in a bridging oxygen vacancy.  相似文献

The low temperature magnetization of amorphous FexPd82?xSi18, 2 ? x ? 25, approaches saturation like 1/H. RKKY-type cluster-cluster interactions and single impurity effects are indicated. The effective strength of the RKKY interaction decreases with increasing x. The magnetization of both spin glass-like and weakly ferromagnetic alloys exhibits Bloch's T32 dependence. The spin wave stiffness constants increase linearly with 2 ? x ? 25. The range of exchange interactions decreases with increasing x.  相似文献

Studies on La0.7Sr0.3Co1−xMnxO3 (x=0-0.5) compounds evidence that the interaction between Mn and Co ions in this system is antiferromagnetic super-exchange and not ferromagnetic (FM) double-exchange (DE). As a result, antiferromagnetism and magnetic glassiness develop steadily with increasing Mn content and the system becomes a spin glass at x∼0.1. Analyses of high-field magnetization data indicate that the system consists of two major phases: a metallic FM phase which magnetically saturates in rather low field, and an insulating non-FM phase which has a linear dependence of magnetization on magnetic field. In the low doping regime, the fraction of the non-FM component expands with temperature at the expense of the FM phase and becomes maximal at TC. Ferromagnetism reappears in highly doped (x≥0.2) compounds due to the presence of DE interaction between the Mn ions. The small volume fraction of the FM phase derived from the M(H) data in high-field region supports the coexistence of insulating and FM behaviors in the highly doped samples.  相似文献

The Hall resistivity and magnetization have been investigated in the ferromagnetic state of the bilayered manganite La2−2xSr1+2xMn2O7 (x=0.36). The Hall resistivity shows an increase in both the ordinary and anomalous Hall coefficients at low temperatures below 50 K, a region in which experimental evidence for the spin glass state has been found in a low magnetic field of 1 mT. The origin of the anomalous behavior of the Hall resistivity relevant to magnetic states may lie in the intrinsic microscopic inhomogeneity in a quasi-two-dimensional electron system.  相似文献

The magnetization and electrical resistivity of Mn3−xFexSnC (0.5≤x≤1.3) were measured to investigate the behavior of the complicated magnetic phase transitions and electronic transport properties from 5 to 300 K. The results obtained demonstrate that Fe doping at the Mn sites of Mn3SnC induces a more complicated magnetic phase transition than that in its parent phase Mn3SnC from a paramagnetic (PM) state to a ferrimagnetic (FI) state consisting of antiferromagnetic (AFM) and ferromagnetic (FM) components, while, with the change of Fe-doped content and magnetic field, there is a competition between the AFM component and FM component in the FI state. Both the Curie temperature (TC) and the saturated magnetization Ms increase with increasing x. The FM component region becomes broader with further increasing Fe-doped content x. The external magnetic field easily creates a saturated FM state (and increased TC) when . Fe doping quenches the negative thermal expansion (NTE) behavior from 200 to 250 K reported in Mn3SnC.  相似文献

Si1−xMnx diluted magnetic semiconductor (DMS) bulks were formed by using an implantation and annealing method. Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and double-crystal rocking X-ray diffraction (DCRXD) measurements showed that the grown materials were Si1−xMnx crystalline bulks. Hall effect measurements showed that annealed Si1−xMnx bulks were p-type semiconductors. The magnetization curve as a function of the magnetic field clearly showed that the ferromagnetism in the annealed Si1−xMnx bulks originated from the interaction between interstitial and substitutional Mn+ ions, which was confirmed by the DCRXD measurements. The magnetization curve as a function of the temperature showed that the ferromagnetic transition temperature was approximately 75 K. The present results can help to improve understanding of the formation mechanism of ferromagnetism in Si1−xMnx DMS bulks.  相似文献

A theoretical expression for the line shape of the Mössbauer spectra in the presence of electron hopping between Fe2+ and Fe3+ is obtained by using a simple stochastic model. Analyses based upon this expression show that the origin of the complicated Mössbauer spectra observed in the magnetic semiconductors Fe1?xCuxCr2S4 (0<x<0.5) at 77 K is electron hopping between Fe+2 and Fe3+ This hopping occurs at a rate of a few MHz. Quantitative estimates are given for some parameters; the isomer shifts, the internal magnetic fields, the quadrupole splittings and the proportions of Fe2+ and Fe3+. The valence distribution in this system is determined from the results. For example, the distribution Fe2+0.69Fe3+0.29Cu1+0.02Cr3+1.72Cr2+0.28S2?4 is obtained for x = 0.02. The existence of Cr2+ is concluded.  相似文献

Physical properties of polycrystalline samples of CeCuxGa4−x (x = 0.2–1.4), crystallizing in the tetragonal BaAl4-type structure (space group I 4/mmm), were studied by means of X-ray powder diffraction, magnetization, specific heat, electrical resistivity and magnetoresistivity measurements in wide temperature and magnetic fields ranges. The unit-cell volume of the system was found to decrease with increasing x (in total by about 4%) but the magnetic moments of Ce3+ ions remain localized in the whole x-range studied. The alloys exhibit ferromagnetic order at low temperatures, which manifests itself as distinct and relatively sharp anomalies in all the temperature characteristics measured. The ordering temperature decreases with increasing the Cu content from 5.5(1) K for x = 0.2 down to 1.35(5) K for x = 1.4, and the electrical transport properties of the system show some features characteristic of Kondo lattices.  相似文献

The magnetic and transport properties of nanocrystalline ZnxFe3−xO4 with x=0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0, respectively, fabricated by the sol-gel method have been investigated. Large magnetoresistance (MR) was observed and found to be originated both from the tunneling of the spin-polarized electrons across the adjacent ferromagnetic grains and the scattering by the canted spins at the grain surface near the grain boundaries. It has been revealed that the MR for the ZnxFe3−xO4 samples (x=0, 0.5 and 1.0) increases with the temperature decreasing from room temperature until a maximum is reached at around 55 K. Then a sharp drop occurs with the further decrease in temperature, regarded as a spin (cluster) glass transition. For the samples studied, a biggest low field (0.5 T) MR value of about 20% for x=0 at 55 K has been obtained. The mechanism of the MR behavior of the materials was discussed.  相似文献

Prussian blue analogue FeII1.1CrIIx[CrIII(CN)6]0.6−x·nH2O nanowires were synthesized by electrodeposition. The magnetic properties investigation indicates that the nanowires exhibit cluster spin-glass behavior, which undergoes a magnetic transition to a frozen state below about 62 K. Spin disorder arising from reduced coordination and broken exchange bonds between spin centers due to the structural defects may be the reason that causes the spin-glass freezing behavior. The negative magnetization observed at temperature lower than the compensation temperature (Tcomp∼43 K) at a field of 10 Oe may be due to the different temperature dependences of the ferromagnetic site Fe-Cr and antiferromagnetic site Cr-Cr.  相似文献

The magnetic behavior of the FeInxCr2−xSe4 system (with x=0.0, 0.2 and 0.4) has been investigated by magnetic and Mössbauer spectroscopy. Hyperfine parameters indicate that iron is in the Fe2+ oxidation state, with a minor (∼9%) Fe3+ fraction, located at different layers in the structure. Low-field magnetization curves as a function of temperature showed that the antiferromagnetic (AFM) order temperature is TN=208(2) K for FeCr2Se4 and decreases to 174(3) K for FeIn0.4Cr1.6Se4. The effective magnetic moment μeff decreases with increasing In contents, and shows agreement with the expected values from the contribution of Fe2+ (5D) and Cr3+ (4F) electronic states. A second, low-temperature transition is observed at TG∼13 K, which has been assigned to the onset of a glassy state.  相似文献

We have studied the effect of Fe substitution on magnetic and magnetocaloric properties in La0.7Sr0.3Mn1−xFexO3 (x=0.05, 0.07, 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20) over a wide temperature range (T=10-400 K). It is shown that substitution by Fe gradually decreases the ferromagnetic Curie temperature (TC) and saturation magnetization up to x=0.15 but a dramatic change occurs for x=0.2. The x=0.2 sample can be considered as a phase separated compound in which both short-range ordered ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic phases coexist. The magnetic entropy change (−ΔSm) was estimated from isothermal magnetization curves and it decreases with increase of Fe content from 4.4 J kg−1 K−1 at 343 K (x=0.05) to 1.3 J kg−1 K−1 at 105 K (x=0.2), under ΔH=5 T. The La0.7Sr0.3Mn0.93Fe0.07O3 sample shows negligible hysteresis loss, operating temperature range over 60 K around room temperature with refrigerant capacity of 225 J kg−1, and magnetic entropy of 4 J kg−1 K−1 which will be an interesting compound for application in room temperature refrigeration.  相似文献

Zn1−xNixO (x=0-0.25) hierarchical microspheres were synthesized via a solvothermal process in ethylene glycol. The magnetic microspheres were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectra, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, room-temperature photoluminescence spectra, and vibrating sample magnetometer. The as-prepared samples take on a well-defined spherical architecture following the processes of spontaneous aggregation and localized Ostwald ripening. Dependence of the magnetization and morphology on Ni2+ content was observed. Magnetic hysteresis loops reveal that the Ni-doped ZnO microspheres exhibit ferromagnetic loops at room temperature.  相似文献

The spontaneous magnetization and principal magnetic susceptibilities of TbFeO3 were measured from 4.2 to 300 K. The weak ferromagnetic moment is along the c crystallographic axis in the entire temperature range. The field dependence of the magnetization at 4.2 K was also studied. The magnetic behavior is interpreted in terms of an interaction between the ordered Fe3+ spin system and the electrons occupying the lowest lying “accidental” doublet of the Tb3+ ions. The FeTb interaction and the Tb3+ Van Vl eck susceptibility along the c axis play significant roles in determining the magnetic configuration of the Fe3+ spin system. No indication was found that the TbTb interaction plays a significant role in the magnetic behavior of TbFeO3 at temperature above 4.2 K.  相似文献
