Nanocrystalline manganese-substituted lithium ferrites viz. Li0.5Fe2.5−xMnxO4 (2.5≤x≥0) were prepared by sol-gel autocombustion method. X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed that as the concentration of manganese increases the cubic phase changes to the tetragonal phase. The variation of saturation magnetization was studied as a function of manganese content. All the compositions indicate that they are ferrimagnetic in nature. The dielectric constant, dielectric loss tangent and ac conductivity of all samples were measured at room temperature as a function of frequency. These parameters decrease with increase in frequency for all of the samples. The substitution of manganese plays an important role in changing the structural and magnetic properties of these ferrites. The compositional variation of dielectric constant and d.c. resistivity shows an inverse trend of variation with each other.  相似文献

Polycrystalline soft ferrite samples with general formula ZnNdxFe2−xO4 (where x=0, 0.01, 0.02 and 0.03) were synthesized by oxalate co-precipitation method. The samples were characterized by XRD and SEM techniques. The single phase cubic spinel structure of all the samples was confirmed by XRD. The lattice constant and grain size of the samples are found to decrease with increase in Nd3+ content. Room temperature DC resistivity of the Nd3+ substituted zinc ferrites is 102 times higher than that of zinc ferrite. The dielectric constant (ε′) and dielectric loss (tan δ) of all the samples were measured in the frequency range 20 Hz-1 MHz. The dielectric behaviour is attributed to the Maxwell-Wagner type interfacial polarization. The dielectric loss of the samples is found to decrease with increase in Nd3+ content. High resistivity and low dielectric loss makes these ferrites particularly suitable for high frequency applications.  相似文献

Ferrites with the general formula Cu1−xZnxFeMnO4 (where 0≤x≤1) were prepared through a citrate gel auto-combustion route. Structural characterizations carried out by X-ray diffraction reveal that the lattice constant increases with increase in zinc content. Transmission electron microscopic measurements confirm the nanoscale nature of the particles. Room temperature saturation magnetization was measured as a function of zinc concentration. The saturation magnetization increases up to x=0.25 and then decreases as zinc concentration increases. Dielectric permittivity, dielectric loss tangent, ac conductivity and complex dielectric impedance were studied in the frequency range 20 Hz-1 MHz. The results indicated a usual dielectric dispersion due to the Maxwell-Wagner type of interfacial polarization. Dielectric loss showed similar behavior as dielectric permittivity. The ac conductivity increased linearly with frequency. Complex impedance spectroscopic studies confirmed that conduction in the samples is via grain boundaries. In general, substitution of zinc plays an important role in changing the structural, electrical and magnetic properties of these ferrites.  相似文献

Mixed manganese-zinc and nickel-zinc ferrites of composition Mn0.2Ni0.8−xZnxFe2O4 where x=0.4x=0.4, 0.5 and 0.6 have been synthesized by the citrate precursor technique. Decomposition of the precursor at temperatures as low as 500 °C gives the ferrite powder. The ferrites have been investigated for their electrical and magnetic properties such as saturation magnetization, initial permeability, Curie temperature, AC-resistivity and dielectric constant as a function of sintering temperature and zinc content. Structural properties such as lattice parameter, grain size and density are also studied. The mixed compositions exhibited higher saturation magnetizations at sintering temperatures as low as 1200 °C. While the Curie temperature decreased with zinc content, the permeability was found to increase. The AC-resistivity ranged from 105–107 Ω cm and decreased with zinc content and sintering temperature. The dielectric constants were lower than those normally reported for the Mn–Zn ferrites. Samples sintered at 1400 °C densified to about 94% of the theoretical density and the grain size was of the order of about 1.5 μm for the samples sintered at 1200 °C and increased subsequently with sintering temperature.  相似文献

Li0.5−x/2CuxFe2.5−x/2O4 (where x=0.0-1.0) ferrites have been prepared by solid-state reaction. X-ray diffraction was used to study the structure of the above investigated ferrites at various sintering temperatures. Samples were sintered at 1000, 1100 and 1200 °C for 3 h in the atmosphere. For the sintering temperature of 1000 °C, Li0.5−x/2CuxFe2.5−x/2O4 undergoes cubic to tetragonal transformation for higher Cu content. However, for the sintering temperature of 1100 and 1200 °C, X-ray diffraction patterns are mainly characterized by fcc structure, though presence of tetragonal distortion was found by other temperature dependence of initial permeability curves. The lattice parameter, X-ray density and bulk density were calculated for different compositions. Curie temperature was measured from the temperature dependence of initial permeability curves. Curie temperatures of Li-Cu mixed ferrites were found to decrease with the increase in Cu2+ content due to the reduction of A-B interaction. As mentioned earlier, temperature dependence of initial permeability curves was characterized by tetragonal deformation for the samples containing higher at% of Cu. The complex initial permeability has been studied for different samples. The B-H loops were measured at constant frequency, f=1200 Hz, at room temperature (298 K). Coercivity and hysteresis loss were estimated for different Cu contents.  相似文献

The dielectric properties, dc and ac electrical resistivities of Mg substituted Ni–Cu ferrites with general formula Ni0.5Cu0.5−xMgxFe2O4 (0.0≤x≤0.5) have been investigated as a function of frequency, temperature and composition. ac resistivity of all the samples decreases with increase in the frequency exhibiting normal ferrimagnetic behavior. The frequency dependence of dielectric loss tangent showed a maximum in between 10 Hz and 1 kHz in all the ferrites. The conductivity relaxation of the charge carriers was examined using the electrical modulus formulism, and the results indicate the presence of the non-Debye type of relaxation in the prepared ferrites. Similar values of activation energies for dc conduction and for conductivity relaxation reveal that the mechanism of electrical conduction and dielectric polarization is the same in these ferrites. A single ‘master curve’ for normalized plots of all the modulus isotherms observed for a given composition indicates that the distribution of relaxation time is temperature independent. The saturation magnetization and coercivity as calculated from the hysteresis loop measurement show striking dependence on composition.  相似文献

We present the results of the effect of Al substitution on the magnetic and electrical properties of Li0.2Zn0.6Fe2.2−xAlxO4 ferrites (0.0≤x≤0.5) prepared by the standard ceramic technique. The characterization has been performed using XRD, SEM, magnetic and dielectric response in frequency. XRD analysis confirms that the system exhibits polycrystalline single phase cubic spinel structure only for low dopant content. Doping decreases the dielectric loss tangent and the ferrite conductivity in more than two orders of magnitude in the whole analyzed frequency range. Attenuation has a maximum intensity (86 dB) near 90 MHz for x=0.4. The wider bandwidth at 20 dB (94.6 MHz) is for x=0.3.  相似文献

The dielectric and magnetic properties of Mg incorporated Ni-Zn spinel ferrites have been investigated. Ni0.5−xZn0.5MgxFe2O4 ferrites have been prepared by sol-gel auto-combustion technique. The as prepared ferrites were annealed at 673, 873 and 1073 K. The X-ray diffraction studies reveal the spinel structure of annealed ferrites. The TEM results are in agreement with XRD results. FTIR study has also been carried out to get insight into the structure of these ferrites. The dielectric measurements show that the dielectric constant (ε′), dielectric loss (tan δ) and conductivity (σac) increase on incorporation of Mg in the Ni-Zn ferrite. ε′, tan δ and σac also show dependence on temperature, frequency of external applied electric field and microstructure of the samples. The magnetic moment measurements reveal that the saturation magnetization (Ms) increases and coercivity (Hc) decreases with the increase in concentration of Mg2+ ions. Ms and Hc also show dependence on the annealing temperature.  相似文献

Polycrystalline ferrites with general formula Co0.5CdxFe2.5−xO4 (0.0?x?0.5) were prepared by sol-gel method. The dielectric properties ε′, ε″, loss tangent tan δ and ac conductivity σac have been studied as a function of frequency, temperature and composition. The experimental results indicate that ε′, ε″, tan δ and σac decrease as the frequency increases; whereas they increase as the temperature increases. These parameters are found to increase by increasing the concentration of Cd content up to x=0.2, after which they start to decrease with further increase in concentration of Cd ion. The dielectric properties and ac conductivity in studied samples have been explained on the basis of space charge polarization according to Maxwell and Wagner's two-layer model and the hoping between adjacent Fe2+ and Fe3+ as well as the hole hopping between Co3+and Co2+ ions at B-sites. The values of activation energies Ef for conduction process are determined from Arrhenius plots, and the variations in these activation energies as a function of Cd content are discussed. The complex impedance analysis is used to separate the grain and grain boundary of the system Co0.5CdxFe2.5−xO4. The variations of both grain boundary and grain resistances with temperature and composition are evaluated in the frequency range 42 Hz-5 MHz.  相似文献

The dielectric relaxation spectroscopes of CdxSe70−xTe30 (where x = 0, 5, 7, 10) alloy have been investigated in the temperature range 298-373 K and in the frequency range 100 Hz to 100 kHz near the percolation threshold. The frequency and temperature dependence on the dielectric constant showed a Debye dielectric relaxation process. Using Debye relation, the dielectric constant (?′), the most probable relaxation time (τ) and the barrier height (W) were estimated for binary ternary chalcogenide systems. In addition, the analysis of the results suggests that the effect of Cd content on electronic conduction of the system. The experimental results support to some extent the above criterion in the case of Cd-Se-Te ternary alloy.  相似文献

Pr3+-doped Ni-Zn ferrites with a nominal composition of Ni0.5Zn0.5PrxFe2−xO4 (where x=0-0.08) were prepared by a one-step synthesis. The magnetic and dielectric properties of the as-prepared Ni-Zn ferrites were investigated. X-ray diffraction data indicated that, after doping, all samples consisted of the main spinel phase in combination of a small amount of a foreign PrFeO3 phase. The lattice constants of the ferrites initially increased after Pr3+ doping, but then became smaller with additional Pr3+ doping. The addition of Pr3+ resulted in a reduction of grain size and an increase of density and densification of the as-prepared samples. Magnetic measurement revealed that the saturation magnetization of the as-prepared ferrites, Ms, decreased, while the coercivity, Hc, increased with increasing substitution level, x, and the Curie temperature, Tc, kept a rather high value, fluctuating between 308 and 320 °C. Both the real and imaginary parts of permeability of the ferrites decreased slightly after Pr3+ doping. However, the natural resonance frequency shifted towards higher frequency from 13.07 to 36.17 MHz after the addition of Pr3+, driving the magnetic permeability to much higher frequency, reaching the highest value (36.17 MHz) when x=0.04. Introduction of Pr3+ ions into the Ni-Zn ferrite reduced the values of the dielectric loss tangent, especially in the frequency range of 1-400 MHz. However, the magnitude of dielectric loss of the samples doped with different amounts of Pr3+ raised little.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline La-substituted Zn–Cu–Cr ferrites Zn0.6Cu0.4Cr0.5LaxFe1.5−xO4 (x=0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06) were prepared by a rheological phase reaction method. The obtained powders were characterized by X-ray diffractometer, transmission electron microscopy and vibrating sample magnetometer. Permeability of the samples was investigated using an impedance analyzer. The results indicated that ferrite samples had the single spinel phase at low La content. Lattice parameter increased with increasing La content, while particle size calculated from Scherrer's formula decreased with increasing La content in La-substituted ferrite samples. The magnetic properties of La-substituted ferrites were strongly affected by La content. The saturation magnetization decreased, while coercivity increased with increasing La content. The variation of real permeability with La content was investigated in the frequency range of 1 MHz–1 GHz.  相似文献

Nanometric nickel copper ferrites Ni1−xCuxFe2O4, 0≤x≤0.45 were prepared by the citrate precursor method. X-ray diffraction measurements confirm the formation of single phase cubic spinel structure. The lattice parameter (a) is increased with increasing Cu2+ ion substitution. The crystallite size was calculated from XRD data and compared with that obtained from TEM micrographs. A significant increase in the density is observed with increasing Cu content. The IR absorption spectra were used for the detection and confirmation of the chemical bonds in spinel ferrites. The dielectric constant ε′ and dielectric loss showed a decrease with increasing frequency for all samples. The decrease in the ac conductivity was ascribed to the increase in hopping length.  相似文献

Electrical properties as a function of composition, frequency and temperature for a series of W-type hexagonal ferrites with the general formula BaCoZn1−xMgxFe16O27; 0≤x≤0.6 prepared using the conventional ceramic method were studied. These samples are semiconductor-like materials, where the ac conductivity increases with increasing temperature. The results show that the conduction mechanism depends on the Mg2+ substitution. The transition temperature (Tσ) increases with increasing Mg content and gives a hump at x=0.5; after that Tσ decreases again. Both the ac conductivity and dielectric constant vary with Mg content and reach the highest value at x=0.5, due to the highest value of the ratio of Fe2+/Fe3+ at x=0.5. The peak value of the dielectric constant depends on the Mg content x.  相似文献

Cu substituted Ni-Li spinel ferrites were prepared by a conventional sol-gel auto-combustion method. The structure, surface morphology, dielectric and magnetic properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, impedance spectroscopy and vibrating sample magnetometer, respectively. X-ray diffraction studies reveal the single phase spinel structure of the ferrites and the crystallite size varies from 23 to 35 nm. Incorporation of Cu in the Ni-Li ferrites increases the grain size. The dielectric parameters such as ε´, ε′′, loss tan δ and ac conductivity (σac) have been measured for the annealed samples in the temperature range from 35 to 200 °C and over the frequency range from 101 to 107 Hz. The saturation magnetization and coercivity show a dependence on the composition and microstructure. The values of saturation magnetization vary from 25.6 to 33.6 emu/g with increase in x for samples annealed at 600 °C. The values of the coercivity increase from 170 to 203 Oe with increase in x.  相似文献

As a kind of soft magnetic metallic material, flaky FeSiAl powders have been studied and used widely. Transition metal chromium can improve the magnetic properties of FeSiAl. This article prepared Fe85Si9.5-xAl5.5Crx (x=0, 2, 4, 6 wt%) alloys powders by adding chromium to replace silicon in alloys. The morphology and microstructure of alloys powders were studied, electromagnetic parameters were measured and microwave absorption properties in the frequency range from 0.5 to 18 GHz were analyzed. With the increase of Cr content, α-Fe (Al, Si) superlattice phases appeared in alloys powders, and then disappeared. Excessive Cr precipitated from the alloys when its content reaches 6 wt%. The minimum reflection loss (-20 dB) among the four powders was 2 wt% Cr content at the frequency of 11.5 GHz. The peaks of reflection loss shifted to the low frequency range with increase in Cr content.  相似文献

Manganese zinc ferrites (MZF) have resistivities between 0.01 and 10 Ω m. Making composite materials of ferrites with either natural rubber or plastics will modify the electrical properties of ferrites. The moldability and flexibility of these composites find wide use in industrial and other scientific applications. Mixed ferrites belonging to the series Mn(1−x)ZnxFe2O4 were synthesized for different ‘x’ values in steps of 0.2, and incorporated in natural rubber matrix (RFC). From the dielectric measurements of the ceramic manganese zinc ferrite and rubber ferrite composites, ac conductivity and activation energy were evaluated. A program was developed with the aid of the LabVIEW package to automate the measurements. The ac conductivity of RFC was then correlated with that of the magnetic filler and matrix by a mixture equation which helps to tailor properties of these composites.  相似文献

A series of polycrystalline ferrites having nominal chemical composition Co0.50−xMnxZn0.5Fe2O4 (0<x<0.4) have been synthesized by the solid-state reaction technique. The XRD analysis confirms single phase cubic spinel structure for all compositions. Lattice constant increases from 0.84195 to 0.84429 nm with the increasing Mn content and obeys Vegard's law. The average grain size increases by increasing both Mn content and sintering temperatures. Room temperature saturation magnetization increases for x=0.1 and decreases for increasing Mn content. The coercivity decreases with increasing Mn content due to the decrease of anisotropy constant. A reentrant spin glass behavior of these samples is observed from the zero field cooled magnetization measurements. The real part of the initial permeability increases by increasing both Mn content and sintering temperatures. This is due to the homogeneous grain growth and densification of the ferrites. The highest initial permeability 137 is observed for x=0.4 sintered at 1573 K on the other hand, the highest relative quality factor (2522) is obtained for the sample Co0.2Mn0.3Zn0.5Fe2O4 sintered at 1523 K. The Mn substituted Co0.50−xMnxZn0.5Fe2O4 ferrites showed improved magnetic properties.  相似文献

The mixed spinel-perovskite composites of xMnFe2O4-(1-x)BiFeO3 with x=0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 were prepared by solid state reaction method. The structure and grain size were examined by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), respectively. The XRD results showed that the composites consisted of spinel MnFe2O4 and perovskite BiFeO3 phases after being calcined at the temperature 950 °C for 2 h. The grain size ranged from 0.8 to 1 μm. Magnetization was found to increase with increasing concentration of ferrite content. The variation of dielectric constant and dielectric loss with frequency showed dispersion in the low frequency range. Magnetocapacitance was also observed in the prepared composites, which may be the sign of magnetoelectric coupling in the synthesized composites at room temperature.  相似文献

Present study reports the structural, optical and dielectric properties of Ni substituted NdFe1−xNixO3 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5) compounds prepared through the ceramic method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed an orthorhombic crystal structure of all the samples. Both unit cell volume and grain size were found to decrease with an increase in Ni concentration. Morphological study by Scanning electron microscope (SEM) shows less porosity with Ni substitution in present system. From UV–vis spectroscopy, the optical band gap was found to increase with Ni doping. This observed behavior was explained on the basis of reduction in crystallite size, unit cell volume and its impact on the crystal field potential of the system after Ni substitution. The dielectric properties (?′ and tanδ) as a function of frequency or temperature, and the ac electrical conductivity (σac) as a function of frequency have been studied. Hopping of charge carriers between Fe2+ → Fe3+ ions and Ni2+ → Ni3+ ions are held responsible for both electrical and dielectric dispersion in the system. Wide optical band gap and a very high dielectric constant of these materials promote them to be a suitable candidate for memory based devices in electronic industry.  相似文献
