The Vlasov equation for charged particles is analyzed in an axially symmetric toroidal plasma configuration with an elliptic cross section of magnetic surfaces. The asymptotic solution of the Vlasov equation is found. The analytical expressions for the perpendicular component of the dielectric permittivity tensor are obtained. These expressions are used for theoretical analyses of the trapped and untrapped ion influence on the collisionless cyclotron wave dissipation. The evaluated dielectric tensor components can be used for computer calculations of the radio frequency field structure and the collisionless dissipated power related to trapped and untrapped ions in tokamak plasmas. It is shown that ion cyclotron resonance dissipation in tokamaks depends on toroidicity and ellipticity parameters and does not depend on plasma temperature. 熔锥型保偏耦合器的传输特性决定了其光学原理与功能的实现。为了从理论上分析各参量对保偏耦合器传输特性的影响,基于热-结构-电磁多物理场耦合理论,建立了熔锥型熊猫光纤耦合器双锥模型,应用有限元法,分析了各参量对熊猫光纤耦合器传输特性的影响。结果表明应力区与包层折射率差影响耦合区纵向电磁场的分布,折射率差越大,纵向电磁场分布的变形也越大;HE1x1模和HEy11模的传播常量对偏振主轴角度差不敏感,偏振主轴角度差是通过耦合系数进而影响保偏光纤耦合器的消光比的;HE1x1模的传播常量对熔锥的熔锥区横截面椭圆率比较敏感,横截面椭圆率变化6.67%时Δβx11变化0.14%,计算结果表明当熔锥区横截面椭圆率为0.56时可获得较高性能的耦合器。  相似文献

A ballooning mode equation for tokamak plasma, with the toroidicity and the Shafranov shift effects included, is derived for a shift circular flux tokamak configuration. Using this equation, the stability of the plasma configuration with an internal transport barrier (ITB) against the high n (the toroidal mode number) ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) ballooning mode is analysed. It is shown that both the toroidicity and the Shaftanov shift effects are stabilizing. In the ITB region, these effects give rise to a low shear stable channel between the first and the second stability regions. Out of the ITB region towards the plasma edge, the stabilizing effect of the Shaftanov shift causes the unstable zone to be significantly narrowed.  相似文献

The combined plasma non-uniformity effects on the energy deposition of Alfvén waves launched by an external antenna in pre-heated spherical tokamaks are investigated. The following relevant physical processes are here possible: (a) the emergence of gaps in the shear Alfvén continuum spectrum and the generation of discrete global Alfvén eigenmodes with frequencies inside the gaps; (b) multi-wave interactions, interactions of gaps of the same kind (e.g., toroidicity induced) and of different kinds (toroidicity, ellipticity and triangularity induced) as well as of secondary order gaps arising when a pair of modes is coupled to one or more modes through other coupling parameters; (c) basic wave-plasma interactions as propagation, reflection, mode-conversion, tunneling and deposition. Thus, we solved numerically the full 2D wave equations for the vector and scalar potentials, using a quite general two-fluid resistive tensor-operator, without any geometrical limitations. The results obtained indicate the existence of antenna-launched wave characteristics for which the power is most efficiently coupled in outer regions of plasmas, which is of special interest for low aspect ratio tokamaks, e.g., for the generation of non-inductive current drive as well as for turbulence suppression and transport barriers formation.  相似文献

Elliptical deformation of oversized, smooth-wall circular waveguides can produce choosable elliptical or circular polarization from a linearly polarized TE11 or TM11 mode used as intermediate linearly polarized modes in TEO1 to HE11 mode conversion sequences in electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH) of magnetically confined thermonuclear fusion plasmas with high-power gyrotrons. Mode coupling in elliptically distorted overmoded circular waveguides has been studied theoretically and experimentally in order to optimize TE11 (and TM11) polarizers (I.D.=27.79 mm) for the 1 MW/70 GHz long-pulse (3s) ECRH system on the Garching Stellarator W VII-AS. Coupling coefficients for ellipticity coupling of non-degenerate modes are given (coupled-mode differential equations formalism). The polarization converters essentially consist of smooth-wall circular waveguides which are gradually squeezed. A sine-squared function of the length coordinate is used to get an almost elliptical crosssection in the middle and circular cross sections at both ends. Arbitrary elliptical polarization states can be generated introducing an extremely low level (<<1%) of undesired spurious modes. Well defined differential phase characteristics have been achieved.  相似文献

本文定量推导了轴上物点发出的部分偏振光通过透镜时其偏振度、偏振分量方位角和椭率角与透镜参数和入射光参量间的关系。对已知参数的透镜进行了定量计算,表明处于一定偏振状态的部分偏振光经透镜后其偏振度、偏振分量方位角和椭率角在出射光束截面上呈一定分布,产生偏振像差。给出了部分偏振光基本参量变化的数量级。指出在高精度光学测量中为避免透镜偏振像差影响,应尽可能减小光束半径和发散角。  相似文献

Experimental evidence is presented for the existence of the theoretically predicted odd toroidicity induced Alfvén eigenmode (TAE) from the simultaneous appearance of odd and even TAEs in a normal shear discharge of the joint European torus. The modes are observed in low central magnetic shear plasmas created by injecting lower hybrid current drive. A fast ion population was created by applying ion cyclotron heating at the high-field side to excite the TAEs. The odd TAEs were identified from their frequency, mode number, and timing relative to the even TAEs.  相似文献

Applying the finite element analysis on the photonic band-gap materials with a cavity at the center for two types of structures, circular and square shape holes with the same cross section, filtering operation of these structures is simulated and compared. Any variations in the structure parameters, such as cavity length, period and hole dimensions, change the transmission peak and frequency bandwidth of these structures. The effects of rotation of square holes and ellipticity of circular holes on filtering operation are studied. Other new structures such as tapered, shortened and non-uniform rotated structures are proposed and filtering characteristics of them are discussed. It is found that, by rotating the square holes around their axis, it is possible to have a blue-shift in the transmission peak wavelength without notable variations in the filter peak and bandwidth. It is concluded that the increase of elliptical holes diameters length causes the decrease of transmission peak and increase of bandwidth with blueshift of the peak wavelength. This shift is larger for one of the elliptical diameter values considered that is along the waveguide length.  相似文献

采用全腔输出结构后,相对论磁控管径向尺寸显著减小,轴向长度也有较大幅度的缩短.但是,由于输出结构为三个相对独立的扇形波导,实际应用时,一般需要对微波输出模式进行转换.针对全腔输出相对论磁控管,本文研究了两种输出模式转换结构并利用三维全电磁粒子模拟程序对其进行了研究.首先研究了将三个扇形波导角向增宽从而渐变或者突变为一个同轴波导的情况,研究结果表明,两种情况下输出微波功率均大于采用传统三个独立扇形波导输出时的90%,输出模式主要是TEM模.其次研究了输出区由三个扇形输出波导分别变换为三个截面大小与之接近的矩形输出波导的可行性,研究结果表明,注入扇形波导中的TE11模式几乎全部转换为矩形波导中的TE10模式.实际应用时,可根据需要选择上述输出模式转换结构.  相似文献

Rayleigh scattering cross sections are measured for nine combustion species (Ar, N2, O2, CO2, CO, H2, H2O, CH4, and C3H8) at wavelengths of 266, 355, and 532 nm and at temperatures ranging from 295 to 1525 K. Experimental results show that, as laser wavelengths become shorter, polarization effects become important and the depolarization ratio of the combustion species must be accounted for in the calculation of the Rayleigh scattering cross section. Temperature effects on the scattering cross section are also measured. Only a small temperature dependence is measured for cross sections at 355 nm, resulting in a 2-8% increase in cross section at temperatures of 1500 K. This temperature dependence increases slightly for measurements at 266 nm, resulting in a 5-11% increase in cross sections at temperatures of 1450 K.  相似文献

从弗拉索夫方程出发,导出了托卡马克等离子体中漂移不稳定性的回旋动理学二维本征模积分方程组。该方程组保留了离子的动理学效应,包括沿磁场的运动、磁场梯度和曲率漂移以及有限拉莫半径效应。与传统的采用气球模表象得到的一维回旋动理学方程(其只能给出不稳定模沿磁场线的结构)不同,该方程组不仅能给出托卡马克等离子体中漂移不稳定模的径向结构,同时还考虑了由离子的环形性漂移引起的相邻极向模之间的线性耦合,进而得到模的极向结构。该结果为相应的数值模拟研究提供了理论基础。  相似文献

The relativistic amplitude for the incoherent photoproduction of η mesons on nuclei is calculated taking into account the nonlocal effects in the propagation of the S11 resonance and the nucleon Born terms. The effects of the possible changes in the S11 properties in the nuclear medium are also investigated within the nonlocal approach. Taking 12C as example, it is found that the nonlocality leads to a slight increase of the cross section to isovector states at photon energies near threshold and decreases the cross section at higher energies. The size of these effects depends on the final state interactions of the η meson. For excitation of the isoscalar states the nonlocality effects are small, consistent with the small contributions of the S11 to these excitations. Density dependent broadening of the width leads to moderate suppression of the cross section for isovector states. Density dependent reduction in mass also leads to reduced incoherent cross sections.  相似文献

本文给出了光纤中包层模的电场形式,指出包层膜的电场形式与弱导光纤中导模的电场形式不同,对光纤中基模与包层模电场沿光纤横截面分布的重叠情况的分析表明,长周期光纤光栅除了能将HE11导模耦合到HE1p包层模外,也可以将其耦合到EH1p包层模。基于耦合模理论的计算表明,耦合到EH1p和EH1,p-1包层模的耦合波长相近,对于典型的单模光纤,当p>4时耦合到这两个模式的耦合系数是可比的。  相似文献

In the present work two types of low-coherence interferometry are used to estimate the ellipticity of the core of an optical fiber in the cross section. Using the time-domain low-coherence interferometry the group-index difference between the degenerate high-order modes is measured. Because of the usage of a short fiber sample the group-index difference between the degenerate fundamental modes is too small to measure. Secondly, a frequency-domain low-coherence interferometry is presented in details. Since it is an all-fiber setup, longer fiber is allowed to be used. The high-order modes are filtered. The group-index difference between the degenerate fundamental modes is obtained. For each of the methods the experimental results are used to estimate the ellipticity of the fiber core in numerical simulations.  相似文献

Scattering and propagation of a UV pulse in soot aerosols are studied using generalized multi-sphere Mie theory (GMM) and a two-frequency mutual coherence function. Soot aerosols are obtained by the diffusion-limited aggregation (DLA) model. Scattering characteristics of aggregate structures in soot aerosols are analyzed by GMM theory in detail. Scattering intensities versus scattering angles are given and discussed. The effects of different-positions of the aggregate on the scattering intensities, scattering cross section, extinction cross section, absorption cross section and asymmetry factor are computed and compared. The two-frequency mutual coherence functions of UV pulses in soot aerosols are simulated, and the effects of optical distance, frequency difference are analyzed.  相似文献

For the detection of direct dark matter, in order to extract useful information about the fundamental interactions from the data, it is crucial to properly determine the nuclear form factor. The form factor for the spin-independent cross section of collisions between dark matter particles and the nucleus has been thoroughly studied by many authors. When the analysis was carried out, the nuclei were always supposed to be spherically symmetric. In this work, we investigate the effects of the deformation of nuclei from a spherical shape to an elliptical one on the form factor. Our results indicate that as long as the ellipticity is not too large, such deformation will not cause any substantial effects. In particular, when the nuclei are randomly orientated in room-temperature circumstances, one can completely neglect them.  相似文献

The design, operation, and characterization of a continuous-wave (CW) tunable second-harmonic 460-GHz gyrotron are reported. The gyrotron is intended to be used as a submillimeter-wave source for 700-MHz nuclear magnetic resonance experiments with sensitivity enhanced by dynamic nuclear polarization. The gyrotron operates in the whispering-gallery mode TE(11,2) and has generated 16 W of output power with a 13-kV 100-mA electron beam. The start oscillation current measured over a range of magnetic field values is in good agreement with theoretical start currents obtained from linear theory for successive high-order axial modes TE(11,2,q). The minimum start current is 27 mA. Power and frequency tuning measurements as a function of the electron cyclotron frequency have also been carried out. A smooth frequency tuning range of 1 GHz was obtained for the operating second-harmonic mode either by magnetic field tuning or beam voltage tuning. Long-term CW operation was evaluated during an uninterrupted period of 48 h, where the gyrotron output power and frequency were kept stable to within ±0.7% and ±6 ppm, respectively, by a computerized control system. Proper operation of an internal quasi-optical mode converter implemented to transform the operating whispering-gallery mode to a Gaussian-like beam was also verified. Based on the images of the gyrotron output beam taken with a pyroelectric camera, the Gaussian-like mode content of the output beam was computed to be 92% with an ellipticity of 12%.  相似文献

Mode coupling in bent, oversized, smooth-wall circular waveguides was studied by means of numerical integration of coupled-mode differential equations in order to optimize high-power TE01-to-TM11 mode transducers at 70 GHz and 140 GHz. Such mode transformers are used in the mode conversion sequence TEOn to TE01 to TM11 to HE11 for generating the almost perfectly linearly polarized Gaussian-like HE11 mode from circular electric TEOn gyrotron modes. This quasi-optical HE11 hybrid mode is in many respects ideal for electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH) of magnetically confined plasmas in thermonuclear fusion research and for other technical applications. Curvature and ellipticity coupling as well as ohmic attenuation of 6 coupled modes (TE01, TM11, TE11, TE12, TE21, TM21) are included in the coupling matrices. Integral expressions were used for deriving the coupling coefficients for arbitrary modes in bent, smooth-wall waveguide. Lowest level of unwanted spurious modes together with highest transmission efficiency (shortest arc length) is achieved with sinusoidal curvature distribution instaed of constant curvature. The calculated conversion efficiencies of 98.0% at 70 GHz and 95.2% at 140 GHz (interior waveguide diameter D=27.8 mm for 200 kW transmission lines) are in excellent agreement with the measured values of (97.6±0.4)% and (95±1)%, respectively.  相似文献

Leaky characteristics of dielectric ridge guide with triangular and trapezoidal cross section are analyzed by a method that combines the mode matching procedure with the staircase approximation and multimode microwave network theory. Our emphasis in this paper is on the parametric effects of cross section profile on leakage and propagation properties of the ridge guide. A new scheme of quasi-optical HE11 mode exciter is presented. It consists of a smooth rectangular horn, dielectric focusing lens and output waveguide section. The main advantages of the converter are frequency broad band operation and simple design. Results of measurements of converter parameters performed at millimeter waves agree well with the design parameters: total conversion efficiency exceeds 96% in the frequency band of 20%.  相似文献
