A new heterogeneous precipitate of an organic-inorganic composite cation-exchanger poly-o-toluidine Zr(IV) phosphate was utilized for the preparation of a Hg(II) ion-sensitive membrane electrode for the determination of Hg(II) ions in real aqueous as well as in real samples. The electrode showed good potentiometric response characteristics, and displayed a linear log[Hg(2+)] versus EMF response over a wide concentration range of 1 x 10(-1) - 1 x 10(-6) M with a Nernstian slope of 30 mV per decade change in concentration with a detection limit of 1 x 10(-6). The membrane electrode showed a very fast response time of 5 s and could be operated well in the pH range 2 - 8. The selectivity coefficients were determined by the mixed-solution method, and revealed that the electrode was selective in the presence of interfering cations; however most of these did not show significant interference in the concentration range of 1 x 10(-1) - 1 x 10(-4) M. The lifetime of the membrane electrode was observed to be 120 days. The analytical utility of this electrode was established by employing it as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titrations of Hg(2+) ions from a synthetic mixture as well as drain water.  相似文献

A new membrane ion selective electrode sensitive to selenite ion has been developed. The electrode consisted of 1,2-phenylenediamine selen complex PIS (piaselenol) as the active material, PVC or SR (silicon rubber) as membrane matrix and DBF (dibutylphtalate) as plasticizer. This electrode showed linear response for selenite ion in the 10(-5)-10(-1)M concentration range. The slope of the linear portion was 21 mV/10-fold change in selenite concentration. The effect of membrane composition and membrane thickness on electrode response was studied and the electrode which contains 2% PIS, 49% PVC and 49% DBF was found to be the most sensitive one to selenite. The slope of the electrode did not change for 2 months and the pH change did not affect the response of the electrode in pH range of 3-9. The interferences of SO(4)(2-), SO(3)(2-), S(2-), HPO4(2-), CI(-), Br(-), and I(-) are investigated and while no interference was observed for SO(4)(2-), SO(3)(2-), S(2-) and I(-), a very small interference was observed for CI(-) and Br(-). The selenium present in anodic slime is determined using this electrode.  相似文献

A novel ion-selective PVC membrane sensor for Al(III) ions based on 6-(4-nitrophenyl)-2-phenyl-4-(thiophen-2-yl)-3,5-diaza-bicyclo[3.1.0]hex-2-ene (NTDH) as a new ionophore has been prepared and studied. The electrode exhibit a good response for aluminum ion over concentration range of 1.0x10(-6) to 1.0x10(-1) mol L(-1) with a Nernstian slope of 19.6+/-0.4 mV per decade and low detection limit of 6.3x10(-7) mol L(-1). The best performance was obtained with membrane composition 30% poly(vinyl chloride), 62% acetophenone, 5% oleic acid, 3% ionophore and 2 ml tetrahydrofuran. NTDH-based electrode was suitable for aqueous solutions of pH 3. It has relatively fast response time (approximately 10 s) and can be used at least for 3 months without any considerable divergence in potentials. The proposed membrane electrode revealed good selectivity for Al(III) ions over a wide variety of other cations. The standard electrode potentials were determined at different temperatures and used to calculate the isothermal coefficient of the electrode. The formation constant and stoichiometry ratio of ionophore-Al(III) complex were calculated at 25 degrees C by using segmented sandwich membrane method. It was used in non-aqueous solvents and also as indicator electrode in potentiometric determination of Al(III) ions in some real samples.  相似文献

We have developed a highly La(III)-selective PVC membrane electrode based on a hexaaza macrocycle, 8,16-dimethyl-6,14-diphenyl-2,3,4:10,11,12-dipyridine-1,3,5,9,11,13-hexaazacyclohexadeca-3,5,8,11,13,16-hexaene [Bzo2Me2Pyo2(16)-hexaeneN6] (I) as membrane carrier, dibutylbutyl phosphonate (DBBP) as solvent mediator and sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB) as lipophilic additive. The best performance was given by the membrane of macrocycle I having a composition 10:260:5:120 (I:DBBP:NaTPB:PVC). The electrode exhibits a Nernstian response to La(III) ion in the concentration range 1.0x10(-1)-7.94x10(-7) M with a slope of 19.8+/-0.2 mV/decade of concentration and a detection limit of 5.62x10(-7) M. The response time of the sensor is 12 s and it can be used over a period of 4 months with good reproducibility. The electrode works well over a pH range of 2.5-10.0 and in partially non-aqueous medium with up to 30% organic content. The sensor was also used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of La(III) ions with EDTA and for determining La(III) concentration in real samples.  相似文献

The potentiometric response characteristics of cesium ion selective PVC membrane electrode employing calix[4]crown ether-ester as an ionophore were investigated. The electrode exhibit a good response for cesium ion over wide concentration range of 5.0x10(-6)-1.0x10(-1) M with a Nernstian slope of 59 mV per decade. The detection limit of electrode is 5.0x10(-6) M. The electrode was found to have selectivity for cesium ion over alkali, alkaline and transition metals. The response time of the electrode is less than 20 s and can be used for more than 4 months without observing any divergence in potentiometric response. The electrode response was stable over wide pH range.  相似文献

A solid membrane electrode selective to chloride ions has been prepared from Fe-Zr mixed hydrous oxide (with iron as a major constituent) with polystyrene as binder. Although the response of the electrode is non-Nernstian it can be utilized to estimate chloride in the concentration range 10(-4)-10(-1)M. The potentials generated across the membrane are reproducible within +/-0.2 mV and the response time is a few seconds. The standard deviation of the potential measurements is 0.4 mV at the 0.1M level. The useful pH range is 4-7 and the electrode can also be used in partially non-aqueous systems. The electrode exhibits fairly good selectivity for chloride.  相似文献

A novel herbicide biosensor with a thylakoid modified membrane electrode is presented. Thylakoid, isolated from spinach leaves, was entrapped in a membrane of poly (vinylalcohol) with the styrylpyridinium group (PVA-SbQ). The thylakoid membrane was fixed on the surface of a platinum electrode. It was found that the enzymes in thylakoid kept their activity for several months in the membrane. The oxidative current of hydrogen peroxide in a Tris-HCl buffer solution (pH 7.4) was detected at the modified electrode by a differential pulse voltammetric method. In the presence of herbicides, the oxidation current from the hydrogen peroxide decreased due to an inhibitor effect on the enzymes in thylakoid compared with that in the absence of the herbicides. The changes in the oxidation current at the electrode were proportional to the herbicide concentrations. The sensor could be used to detect herbicides in concentration ranges of 3 x 10(-9) - 1.5 x 10(-7) M for paraquat, 1 x 10(-8) - 3 x 10(-7) M for diuron, 4 x 10(-8) - 3 x 10(-6) M for prometryn, 5 x 10(-8) - 5 x 10(-6) M for atrazine and 1 x 10(-7) - 5 x 10(-6) M for ametryn, respectively. The enzyme activity on scavenging hydrogen peroxide in the modified PVA-SbQ membrane was examined.  相似文献

A novel membrane coated platinum-wire electrode (MCPWE) based on N,N'-bis(2-thienylmethylene)-1,2-diaminobenzene (BTMD) for highly selective determination of Ag+ ion has been developed. The influences of membrane composition and pH on the potentiometric responses of electrode were investigated. The potentiometric responses are independent of the pH of the test solution in the range of 5.0 - 9.0. The electrode shows a linear response for Ag+ ion over the concentration range of 1.0 x 10(-60 to 1.0 x 10(-1) M with a lower detection limit of 6.0 x 10(-7) M. The electrode possesses a Nernstian slope of 59.7 mV decade(-1) and a fast response time of < or = 17 s and can be used for at least 2 months without any observable deviation. The proposed electrode displayed very good selectivity for Ag+ ion with respect to NH4+ and alkali, alkaline earth and some common transition metal ions. The practical utility of the electrode has been demonstrated by its use as the indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of an AgNO3 solution with a NaI solution and in determination of the silver content of a developed radiological film.  相似文献

A strontium Schiff's base complex (SS) can be used as a suitable ionophore to prepare a sulfate-selective PVC-based membrane electrode. The use of oleic acid (OA) and hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (HTAB), as additives, and nitrobenzen (NB), dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and benzyl acetate (BA) as solvent mediators, were investigated. The best performance was observed with a membrane composition PVC: NB: SS: HTAB of 30%: 62%: 5%: 3% ratio. The resulting sensor works well over a wide concentration range (1.0 x 10(-2)-1.0 x 10(-6) M) with a Nernstian slope of -29.2 mV per decade of sulfate activity over a pH range 4.0-7.0. The limit of detection of the electrode is 5 x 10(-7) M. The proposed sensor shows excellent discriminating ability toward SO4(2-) ions with regard to many anions. It has a fast response time of about 15 s. The membrane electrode was used to the determination of zinc in zinc sulfate tablets. The sensor was also used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of SO4(2-) against barium ion.  相似文献

The potentiometric response characteristics of a poly(vinyl chloride) membrane electrode for heroin based on its ion-pair complex with tetraphenylborate were examined. The influence of pH, temperature and time on the performance of the electrode system was investigated. The electrode shows a near-Nernstian response over the heroin concentration range 10(-2)-10(-4) M with good precision. The mean relative standard deviation for the determination of heroin in 40 micrograms ml-1(-1) mg ml-1 aqueous heroin hydrochloride solutions is 1.2%. The electrode exhibits good selectivity for heroin in the presence of a number of adulterants and basic organic compounds commonly present in illicit heroin powders. The method was applied to the direct potentiometric determination of heroin in illicit powders (10-36% heroin) and the results agreed fairly well with those obtained by gas - liquid chromatography.  相似文献

Several mu-oxo-bismetalloporphyrin complexes were synthesized for preparing fluoroborate sensors. The electrode based on mu-oxo-bis[tetra(p-chlorophenyl)porphinatomanganese(III)] with an optimized membrane composition shows a potentiometric response towards fluoroborate ion over the concentration range from 4.3 x 10(-7) to 1.0 x 10(-1) mol l-1 with a Nernstian slope, a wide working pH range from 5.5 to 12.0 and a fast response time of 30 s. The electrode shows anti-Hofmeister selectivity towards BF4- with respect to common co-existing ions, which is an improvement over methods reported so far. As electroactive materials, several mu-oxo-bismetalloporphyrins with different substituents on the benzene rings were compared for potentiometric response characteristics. The interaction between BF4- and bismetalloporphyrin was investigated using UV/VIS spectrophotometry. The electrode was applied to the determination of fluoroborate in electroplating solutions.  相似文献

The construction, performance characteristics, and application of a novel polymeric membrane coated on a graphite electrode with unique selectivity towards SCN- are reported. The electrode was prepared by incorporating Ni(II)-2,2,4,9,9,11-hexamethyltetraazacyclotetradecanediene perchlorate into a plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) membrane. The influences of membrane composition, pH and foreign ions were investigated. The electrode displays a near Nernstian slope (-57.8 mV decade-1) over a wide concentration range of 1 x 10(-7)-1 x 10(-1) M of SCN- ion. The electrode has a detection limit of 4.8 x 10(-8) M (2.8 ng/cm3) SCN- and shows response times of about 15 s and 120 s for low to high and high to low concentration sequences, respectively. The proposed sensor shows high selectivity towards SCN- over several common organic and inorganic anions. The electrode revealed a great enhancement in selectivity coefficients and detection limit for SCN-, in comparison with the previously reported electrodes. It was successfully applied to the direct determination of SCN- in milk and biological samples, and as an indicator electrode in titration of Ag+ ions with thiocyanate.  相似文献

[5,10,15,20-Tetrakis(4-N,N-dimethylaminobenzene)porphyrinato]Mn(III) acetate (MnTDPAc) was applied as an ionophore for an iodide-selective PVC membrane electrode. The influences of the membrane composition, pH of the test solution and foreign ions on the electrode performance were investigated. The sensor exhibited not only excellent selectivity to iodide ion compared to Cl- and lipophilic anions such as ClO4- and salicylate, but also a Nernstian response with a slope of -59.4 +/- 1.2 mV per decade for iodide ions over a wide concentration range from 1.0 x 10(-2) to 7.5 x 10(-6) M at 25 degrees C. The potentiometric response was independent of the pH of the solution in the pH range of 2 - 8. The electrode could be used for at least 2 months without any considerable divergence in the potential. Good selectivity for iodide ion, a very short response time, simple preparation and relatively long-term stability were the silent characteristics of this electrode. It was successfully used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of iodide ions, and also in the determination of iodide from seawater samples and drug formulations.  相似文献

Five novel 1,3-alternate calix[4]azacrown ethers having 2-picolyl, 3-picolyl, and benzyl unit on the nitrogen atom were synthesized and used as ionophores for transition metal-selective polymeric membrane electrodes. The electrode based on 2-picolyl armed 1,3-alternate calix [4] azacrown ether exhibited Nernstian response toward copper (II) ion over a concentration range (10(-4.5) M-10(-2.5) M). The detection limit was determined as 10(-5) M in pH 7 and the selectivity coefficients for possible interfering cations were evaluated. Anions in the sample solution strongly affected the electrode response.  相似文献

In this study, an ammonia-gas-sensing liquid-state membrane electrode based on 1-[(2-oxyphenyl)iminomethyl]-2-oxybenzene-O,O',N-ammin-nickel(II) (Ni(II)-Schiff base) as an ionophore was developed. This membrane electrode gave a very good performance and exhibited linear response with near-Nernstian slope of 50.7+/-0.5 mV per decade, within a concentration range of 1.0x10(-1)-1.0x10(-3) M. The electrode performance depends on the pH of the test solution and the optimum pH range was 10.0-11.5. The effect of concentration of internal solutions in the electrode was also investigated. The selectivity properties of the electrode towards aliphatic amines at a pH value of 10.2 were investigated with the mixed-solution method. Furthermore, the response time and lifetime of the electrode prepared were determined.  相似文献
