We reconsider the model used by Serrano and Yosha (1993) who were interested in information revelation in markets with pairwise meetings. We prove that there exists an additional equilibrium not detected in the original paper and show that this equilibrium is characterized by incomplete revelation of information which was not the case of the other already identified equilibria of the model.  相似文献

In this paper, we examine whether a more ambiguity-averse individual will invest in more effort to shift her initial starting wealth distribution toward a better target distribution. We assume that the individual has ambiguous beliefs regarding two target (starting) distributions and that one distribution is preferred to the other. We find that an increase in ambiguity aversion will decrease (increase) the optimal effort when the cost of effort is non-monetary. When the cost of effort is monetary, the effect depends on whether the individual would make more effort when the target (starting) distribution is the preferred distribution than the target (starting) distributions, the inferior one. We further characterize the individual’s higher-order risk preferences to examine the sufficient conditions.  相似文献

We present a multidimensional flow exhibiting a Rovella-like attractor: a transitive invariant set with a non-Lorenz-like singularity accumulated by regular orbits and a multidimensional non-uniformly expanding invariant direction. Moreover, this attractor has a physical measure with full support and persists along certain sub-manifolds of the space of vector fields. As in the 3-dimensional Rovella-like attractor, this example is not robust. As a sub-product of the construction we obtain a new class of multidimensional non-uniformly expanding endomorphisms without any uniformly expanding direction, which is interesting by itself. Our example is a suspension (with singularities) of this multidimensional endomorphism.  相似文献

In this paper we present an approximation problem of parametric curves and surfaces from a Lagrange or Hermite data set. In particular, we study an interpolation problem by minimizing some functional on a Sobolev space that produces the new notion of interpolating variational spline. This paper addresses the problem of constructing some free-form curves and surfaces from given to different types of data: exact and noisy data. We extend the theory of DmDm-splines over a bounded domain for noisy data to the smoothing variational vector splines. Both results of convergence for respectively the exact and noisy data are established, as soon as some estimations of errors are given.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a diffusive three-species ratio-dependent food chain model, using differential inequality, to obtain sufficient conditions that ensure the permanence of the system and the extinction of predator species. Our results reinforce the main result of Sun Wen, Shihua Chen and Huihai Mei [Positive periodic solution of a more realistic three-species Lotka-Volterra model with delay and density regulation, Chaos, Solitons and Fractals, in press].  相似文献

Let be an ideal of Noetherian ring R and let s be a non-negative integer. Let M be an R-module such that is finite R-module. If s is the first integer such that the local cohomology module is non -cofinite, then we show that is finite. In particular, the set of associated primes of is finite. Let be a local Noetherian ring and let M be a finite R-module. In this paper we initiate the study of the ω-Turing reducibility between sequences of sets of natural numbers. We shall prove that the induced degree structure is an extension of the structure of the Turing degrees and that the two structures are closely connected, but different enough. We identify some remnants of normality and call them rudimentary normality, generalize the concept of submetacompact spaces to that of a weakly subparacompact space and that of a weakly? subparacompact space, and make a simultaneous generalization of collectionwise normality and screenability with the introduction of what is to be called collectionwise σ-normality. With these weak properties, we show that,1) on weakly subparacompact spaces, countable compactness = compactness, ω1-compactness = Lindelöfness;2) on weakly subparacompact Hausdorff spaces with rudimentary normality, regularity = normality = countable paracompactness; and3) on weakly subparacompact regular T1-spaces with rudimentary normality, collectionwise σ-normality = screenability = collectionwise normality = paracompactness.The famous Normal Moore Space Conjecture is thus given an even more striking appearance and Worrell and Wicke?s factorization of paracompactness (over Hausdorff spaces) along with Krajewski?s are combined and strengthened. The methodology extends itself to the factorization of paracompactness on locally compact, locally connected spaces in the manner of Gruenhage and on locally compact spaces in that of Tall, and to the factorization of subparacompactness and metacompactness in the genre of Katuta, Chaber, Junnila and Price and Smith and that of Boone, improving all of them.  相似文献

The converse problem of Lyapunov stability for systems of ODEs of Caratheodory type is considered. It is proved that if the right hand side of an ODE satisfies only the Osgood condition, the uniform stability of the origin is sufficient to the existence of a locally Lipschitz continuous Lyapunov function. Actually, the uniform stability is equivalent to the robust stability in this case. Moreover, as an auxiliary result, the generalization of the famous Gronwall-Bellman-Bihari inequality is also proved.  相似文献

In this paper, we present an interpolation method for curves from a data set by means of the optimization of the parameters of a quadratic functional in a space of parametric cubic spline functions. The existence and the uniqueness of this problem are shown. Moreover, a convergence result of the method is established in order to justify the method presented. The aforementioned functional involves some real non-negative parameters; the optimal parametric curve is obtained by the suitable optimization of these parameters. Finally, we analyze some numerical and graphical examples in order to show the efficiency of our method.  相似文献

Each element $x$ of the commutator subgroup $[G, G]$ of a group $G$ can be represented as a product of commutators. The minimal number of factors in such a product is called the commutator length of $x$. The commutator length of $G$ is defined as the supremum of commutator lengths of elements of $[G, G]$. We show that for certain closed symplectic manifolds $(M,\omega)$, including complex projective spaces and Grassmannians, the universal cover $\widetilde{\hbox{\rm Ham}\, (M,\omega)$ of the group of Hamiltonian symplectomorphisms of $(M,\omega)$ has infinite commutator length. In particular, we present explicit examples of elements in $\widetilde{\hbox{\rm Ham}\, (M,\omega)$ that have arbitrarily large commutator length -- the estimate on their commutator length depends on the multiplicative structure of the quantum cohomology of $(M,\omega)$. By a different method we also show that in the case $c_1 (M) = 0$ the group $\widetilde{\hbox{\rm Ham}\, (M,\omega)$ and the universal cover ${\widetilde{\Symp}}_0\, (M,\omega)$ of the identity component of the group of symplectomorphisms of $(M,\omega)$ have infinite commutator length.  相似文献
