This work is a continuation of our previous work [Z.-Q. Shao, D.-X. Kong, Y.-C. Li, Shock reflection for general quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws, Nonlinear Anal. TMA 66 (1) (2007) 93-124]. In this paper, we study the global structure instability of the Riemann solution containing shocks, at least one rarefaction wave for general n×n quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws in the presence of a boundary. We prove the nonexistence of global piecewise C1 solution to a class of the mixed initial-boundary value problem for general n×n quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws on the quarter plane. Our result indicates that this kind of Riemann solution mentioned above for general n×n quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws in the presence of a boundary is globally structurally unstable. Some applications to quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws arising from physics and mechanics are also given.  相似文献

We first represent the pressure in terms of the velocity in . Using this representation we prove that a solution to the Navier-Stokes equations is in under the critical assumption that , with r?3, while for r=3 the smallness is required. In [H.J. Choe, Boundary regularity of weak solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations, J. Differential Equations 149 (2) (1998) 211-247], a boundary L estimate for the solution is derived if the pressure on the boundary is bounded. In our work, we remove the boundedness assumption of the pressure. Here, our estimate is local. Indeed, employing Moser type iteration and the reverse Hölder inequality, we find an integral estimate for L-norm of u.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that directed cyclic Hamiltonian cycle systems of the complete symmetric digraph, , exist if and only if n is odd with n≠15 and npα for p an odd prime and α≥2 or with n≠2pα for p an odd prime and α≥1. In an earlier paper the authors showed that with one exception the nonorientable genus of the graph with mn−1, the join of a complete graph with a large edgeless graph, is the same as the nonorientable genus of the spanning subgraph . The orientable genus problem for with mn−1 seems to be more difficult, but in this paper we find the orientable genus of some of these graphs. In particular, we determine the genus of when n is even and mn, the genus of when n=2p+2 for p≥3 and mn−1, and the genus of when n=2p+1 for p≥3 and mn+1. In all of these cases the genus is the same as the genus of Km,n, namely ⌈(m−2)(n−2)/4⌉.  相似文献

We equip the polytope of n×n Markov matrices with the normalized trace of the Lebesgue measure of Rn2. This probability space provides random Markov matrices, with i.i.d. rows following the Dirichlet distribution of mean (1/n,…,1/n). We show that if is such a random matrix, then the empirical distribution built from the singular values of tends as n to a Wigner quarter-circle distribution. Some computer simulations reveal striking asymptotic spectral properties of such random matrices, still waiting for a rigorous mathematical analysis. In particular, we believe that with probability one, the empirical distribution of the complex spectrum of tends as n to the uniform distribution on the unit disc of the complex plane, and that moreover, the spectral gap of is of order when n is large.  相似文献

This work is a continuation of our previous work, in the present paper we study the generalized nonlinear initial-boundary Riemann problem with small BV data for linearly degenerate quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws with nonlinear boundary conditions in a half space . We prove the global existence and uniqueness of piecewise C1 solution containing only contact discontinuities to a class of the generalized nonlinear initial-boundary Riemann problem, which can be regarded as a small BV perturbation of the corresponding nonlinear initial-boundary Riemann problem, for general n×n linearly degenerate quasilinear hyperbolic system of conservation laws; moreover, this solution has a global structure similar to the one of the self-similar solution to the corresponding nonlinear initial-boundary Riemann problem. Some applications to quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws arising in the string theory and high energy physics are also given.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the generalized Catalan numbers , which we call s-Catalan numbers. For p prime, we find all positive integers n such that pq divides F(pq,n), and also determine all distinct residues of , q?1. As a byproduct we settle a question of Hough and the late Simion on the divisibility of the 4-Catalan numbers by 4. In the second part of the paper we prove that if pq?99999, then is not squarefree for n?τ1(pq) sufficiently large (τ1(pq) computable). Moreover, using the results of the first part, we find n<τ1(pq) (in base p), for which may be squarefree. As consequences, we obtain that is squarefree only for n=1,3,45, and is squarefree only for n=1,4,10.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to solving globally the boundary value problem for the incompressible inhomogeneous Navier-Stokes equations in the half-space in the case of small data with critical regularity. In dimension n?3, we state that if the initial density ρ0 is close to a positive constant in and the initial velocity u0 is small with respect to the viscosity in the homogeneous Besov space then the equations have a unique global solution. The proof strongly relies on new maximal regularity estimates for the Stokes system in the half-space in , interesting for their own sake.  相似文献

For Jacobi matrices with an=1+(−1)nαnγ, bn=(−1)nβnγ, we study bound states and the Szeg? condition. We provide a new proof of Nevai's result that if , the Szeg? condition holds, which works also if one replaces (−1)n by . We show that if α=0, β≠0, and , the Szeg? condition fails. In this paper we consider several examples of sequences of partial sums of triangular arrays of random variables {Xn:n?1}; in each case Xn converges weakly to an infinitely divisible distribution (a Poisson distribution or a centered Normal distribution). For each sequence we prove large deviation results for the logarithmically weighted means with speed function . In this paper, we investigate the mixed initial-boundary value problem for diagonalizable quasilinear hyperbolic systems with nonlinear boundary conditions on a half-unbounded domain . Under the assumptions that system is strictly hyperbolic and linearly degenerate, we obtain the global existence and uniqueness of C1 solutions with the bounded L1L norm of the initial data as well as their derivatives and appropriate boundary condition. Based on the existence results of global classical solutions, we also prove that when t tends to infinity, the solutions approach a combination of C1 travelling wave solutions. Under the appropriate assumptions of initial and boundary data, the results can be applied to the equation of time-like extremal surface in Minkowski space R1+(1+n).  相似文献
