In this paper, we introduce the complex completely positive tensor, which has a symmetric complex decomposition with all real and imaginary parts of the decomposition vectors being non-negative. Some properties of the complex completely positive tensor are given. A semidefinite algorithm is also proposed for checking whether a complex tensor is complex completely positive or not. If a tensor is not complex completely positive, a certificate for it can be obtained; if it is complex completely positive, a complex completely positive decomposition can be obtained.  相似文献

In this article, the index of imprimitivity of an irreducible nonnegative matrix in the famous PerronFrobenius theorem is studied within a more general framework, both in a more general tensor setting and in a more natural spectral symmetry perspective. A k-th order tensor has symmetric spectrum if the set of eigenvalues is symmetric under a group action with the group being a subgroup of the multiplicative group of k-th roots of unity. A sufficient condition, in terms of linear equations over the quotient ring, for a tensor possessing symmetric spectrum is given, which becomes also necessary when the tensor is nonnegative, symmetric and weakly irreducible, or an irreducible nonnegative matrix. Moreover, it is shown that for a weakly irreducible nonnegative tensor, the spectral symmetries are the same when either counting or ignoring multiplicities of the eigenvalues. In particular, the spectral symmetry(index of imprimitivity) of an irreducible nonnegative Sylvester matrix is completely resolved via characterizations with the indices of its positive entries. It is shown that the spectrum of an irreducible nonnegative Sylvester matrix can only be 1-symmetric or 2-symmetric, and the exact situations are fully described. With this at hand, the spectral symmetry of a nonnegative two-dimensional symmetric tensor with arbitrary order is also completely characterized.  相似文献

Finding the minimal H-eigenvalue of tensors is an important topic in tensor computation and numerical multilinear algebra. This paper is devoted to a sum-of-squares (SOS) algorithm for computing the minimal H-eigenvalues of tensors with some sign structures called extended essentially nonnegative tensors (EEN-tensors), which includes nonnegative tensors as a subclass. In the even-order symmetric case, we first discuss the positive semi-definiteness of EEN-tensors, and show that a positive semi-definite EEN-tensor is a nonnegative tensor or an M-tensor or the sum of a nonnegative tensor and an M-tensor, then we establish a checkable sufficient condition for the SOS decomposition of EEN-tensors. Finally, we present an efficient algorithm to compute the minimal H-eigenvalues of even-order symmetric EEN-tensors based on the SOS decomposition. Numerical experiments are given to show the efficiency of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

Examples show that many integral forms can be efficiently verified to be positive through a special form of variable substitutions, i.e., weighted difference substitutions (WDS), but it was unknown how many steps of substitutions are needed, or furthermore, whether this method is adapted for checking positivity of all integral forms. In this paper, we give upper bounds of step numbers of WDS required in checking whether an integral form is positive or nonnegative, thus deducing that the positivity of integral forms can be completely verified through the WDS method.  相似文献

Finding the maximum eigenvalue of a tensor is an important topic in tensor computation and multilinear algebra. Recently, for a tensor with nonnegative entries (which we refer it as a nonnegative tensor), efficient numerical schemes have been proposed to calculate its maximum eigenvalue based on a Perron–Frobenius-type theorem. In this paper, we consider a new class of tensors called essentially nonnegative tensors, which extends the concept of nonnegative tensors, and examine the maximum eigenvalue of an essentially nonnegative tensor using the polynomial optimization techniques. We first establish that finding the maximum eigenvalue of an essentially nonnegative symmetric tensor is equivalent to solving a sum of squares of polynomials (SOS) optimization problem, which, in its turn, can be equivalently rewritten as a semi-definite programming problem. Then, using this sum of squares programming problem, we also provide upper and lower estimates for the maximum eigenvalue of general symmetric tensors. These upper and lower estimates can be calculated in terms of the entries of the tensor. Numerical examples are also presented to illustrate the significance of the results.  相似文献

Nonnegative tensor decomposition allows us to analyze data in their ‘native’ form and to present results in the form of the sum of rank-1 tensors that does not nullify any parts of the factors. In this paper, we propose the geometrical structure of a basis vector frame for sum-of-rank-1 type decomposition of real-valued nonnegative tensors. The decomposition we propose reinterprets the orthogonality property of the singularvectors of matrices as a geometric constraint on the rank-1 matrix bases which leads to a geometrically constrained singularvector frame. Relaxing the orthogonality requirement, we developed a set of structured-bases that can be utilized to decompose any tensor into a similar constrained sum-of-rank-1 decomposition. The proposed approach is essentially a reparametrization and gives us an upper bound of the rank for tensors. At first, we describe the general case of tensor decomposition and then extend it to its nonnegative form. At the end of this paper, we show numerical results which conform to the proposed tensor model and utilize it for nonnegative data decomposition.  相似文献

A symmetric tensor is called copositive if it generates a multivariate form taking nonnegative values over the nonnegative orthant. Copositive tensors have found important applications in polynomial optimization, tensor complementarity problems and vacuum stability of a general scalar potential. In this paper, we consider copositivity detection of tensors from both theoretical and computational points of view. After giving several necessary conditions for copositive tensors, we propose several new criteria for copositive tensors based on the representation of the multivariate form in barycentric coordinates with respect to the standard simplex and simplicial partitions. It is verified that, as the partition gets finer and finer, the concerned conditions eventually capture all strictly copositive tensors. Based on the obtained theoretical results with the help of simplicial partitions, we propose a numerical method to judge whether a tensor is copositive or not. The preliminary numerical results confirm our theoretical findings.  相似文献

The Hermitian tensor is an extension of Hermitian matrices and plays an important role in quantum information research. It is known that every symmetric tensor has a symmetric CP-decomposition. However, symmetric Hermitian tensor is not the case. In this paper, we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for symmetric Hermitian decomposability of symmetric Hermitian tensors. When a symmetric Hermitian decomposable tensor space is regarded as a linear space over the real number field, we also obtain its dimension formula and basis. Moreover, if the tensor is symmetric Hermitian decomposable, then the symmetric Hermitian decomposition can be obtained by using the symmetric Hermitian basis. In the application of quantum information, the symmetric Hermitian decomposability condition can be used to determine the symmetry separability of symmetric quantum mixed states.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a fast algorithm for computing the spectral radii of symmetric nonnegative tensors. In particular, by this proposed algorithm, we are able to obtain the spectral radii of weakly reducible symmetric nonnegative tensors without requiring the partition of the tensors. As we know, it is very costly to determine the partition for large‐sized weakly reducible tensors. Numerical results are reported to show that the proposed algorithm is efficient and also able to compute the spectral radii of large‐sized tensors. As an application, we present an algorithm for testing the positive definiteness of Z‐tensors. By this algorithm, it is guaranteed to determine the positive definiteness for any Z‐tensor.  相似文献

In this paper, we mainly focus on new inclusion sets for eigenvalues of a tensor. First, we propose new inclusion sets for eigenvalues of a tensor, which are sharper than some existing inclusion sets, and obtain the law of distribution of the number of eigenvalues for a tensor. Second, two new classes of tensors are introduced. Third, some bounds on the spectral radii for nonnegative tensors are given. Fourth, some checkable sufficient conditions for the positive definiteness (positive semidefiniteness) of some classes of even-order real symmetric tensors are obtained.  相似文献

We introduce a new class of nonnegative tensors—strictly nonnegative tensors.A weakly irreducible nonnegative tensor is a strictly nonnegative tensor but not vice versa. We show that the spectral radius of a strictly nonnegative tensor is always positive. We give some necessary and su?cient conditions for the six wellconditional classes of nonnegative tensors, introduced in the literature, and a full relationship picture about strictly nonnegative tensors with these six classes of nonnegative tensors. We then establish global R-linear convergence of a power method for finding the spectral radius of a nonnegative tensor under the condition of weak irreducibility. We show that for a nonnegative tensor T,there always exists a partition of the index set such that every tensor induced by the partition is weakly irreducible;and the spectral radius of T can be obtained from those spectral radii of the induced tensors. In this way,we develop a convergent algorithm for finding the spectral radius of a general nonnegative tensor without any additional assumption. Some preliminary numerical results show the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm.  相似文献

This paper studies symmetric tensor decompositions. For symmetric tensors, there exist linear relations of recursive patterns among their entries. Such a relation can be represented by a polynomial, which is called a generating polynomial. The homogenization of a generating polynomial belongs to the apolar ideal of the tensor. A symmetric tensor decomposition can be determined by a set of generating polynomials, which can be represented by a matrix. We call it a generating matrix. Generally, a symmetric tensor decomposition can be determined by a generating matrix satisfying certain conditions. We characterize the sets of such generating matrices and investigate their properties (e.g., the existence, dimensions, nondefectiveness). Using these properties, we propose methods for computing symmetric tensor decompositions. Extensive examples are shown to demonstrate the efficiency of proposed methods.  相似文献

The positive definiteness of elasticity tensors plays an important role in the elasticity theory. In this paper,we consider the bi-block symmetric tensors, which contain elasticity tensors as a subclass.First,we define the bi-block M-eigenvalue of a bi-block symmetric tensor, and show that a bi-block symmetric tensor is bi-block positive(semi)definite if and only if its smallest bi-block M-eigenvalue is(nonnegative)positive. Then,we discuss the distribution of bi-block M-eigenvalues,by which we get a sufficient condition for judging bi-block positive(semi)definiteness of the bi-block symmetric tensor involved.Particularly,we show that several classes of bi-block symmetric tensors are bi-block positive definite or bi-block positive semidefinite, including bi-block(strictly)diagonally dominant symmetric tensors and bi-block symmetric(B)B0-tensors.These give easily checkable sufficient conditions for judging bi-block positive(semi)definiteness of a bi-block symmetric tensor. As a byproduct,we also obtain two easily checkable sufficient conditions for the strong ellipticity of elasticity tensors.  相似文献

We prove the following. Let G be an undirected graph. Every partially specified symmetric matrix, the graph of whose specified entries is G and each of whose fully specified submatrices is completely positive (equal to BBT for some entrywise nonnegative matrix B), may be completed to a completely positive matrix if and only if G is a block-clique graph (a chordal graph in which distinct maximal cliques overlap in at most one vertex). The same result holds for matrices that are doubly nonnegative (entrywise nonnegative and positive semidefinite).  相似文献

Finding the maximum eigenvalue of a symmetric tensor is an important topic in tensor computation and numerical multilinear algebra. In this paper, we introduce a new class of structured tensors called W‐tensors, which not only extends the well‐studied nonnegative tensors by allowing negative entries but also covers several important tensors arising naturally from spectral hypergraph theory. We then show that finding the maximum H‐eigenvalue of an even‐order symmetric W‐tensor is equivalent to solving a structured semidefinite program and hence can be validated in polynomial time. This yields a highly efficient semidefinite program algorithm for computing the maximum H‐eigenvalue of W‐tensors and is based on a new structured sums‐of‐squares decomposition result for a nonnegative polynomial induced by W‐tensors. Numerical experiments illustrate that the proposed algorithm can successfully find the maximum H‐eigenvalue of W‐tensors with dimension up to 10,000, subject to machine precision. As applications, we provide a polynomial time algorithm for computing the maximum H‐eigenvalues of large‐size Laplacian tensors of hyperstars and hypertrees, where the algorithm can be up to 13 times faster than the state‐of‐the‐art numerical method introduced by Ng, Qi, and Zhou in 2009. Finally, we also show that the proposed algorithm can be used to test the copositivity of a multivariate form associated with symmetric extended Z‐tensors, whose order may be even or odd.  相似文献

It is well known that the curvature tensor of a pseudo-Riemannian manifold can be decomposed with respect to the pseudo-orthogonal group into the sum of the Weyl conformal curvature tensor, the traceless part of the Ricci tensor and of the scalar curvature. A similar decomposition with respect to the pseudo-unitary group exists on a pseudo-Kählerian manifold; instead of the Weyl tensor one obtains the Bochner tensor. In the present paper, the known decomposition with respect to the pseudo-orthogonal group of the covariant derivative of the curvature tensor of a pseudo-Riemannian manifold is refined. A decomposition with respect to the pseudo-unitary group of the covariant derivative of the curvature tensor for pseudo-Kählerian manifolds is obtained. This defines natural classes of spaces generalizing locally symmetric spaces and Einstein spaces. It is shown that the values of the covariant derivative of the curvature tensor for a non-locally symmetric pseudo-Riemannian manifold with an irreducible connected holonomy group different from the pseudo-orthogonal and pseudo-unitary groups belong to an irreducible module of the holonomy group.  相似文献

An algorithm is presented for decomposing a symmetric tensor into a sum of rank-1 symmetric tensors. For a given tensor, by using apolarity, catalecticant matrices and the condition that the mapping matrices are commutative, the rank of the tensor can be obtained by iteration. Then we can find the generating polynomials under a selected basis set. The decomposition can be constructed by the solutions of generating polynomials under the condition that the solutions are all distinct which can be guaranteed by the commutative property of the matrices. Numerical examples demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the CP-nuclear value of a completely positive (CP) tensor and study its properties. A semidefinite relaxation algorithm is proposed for solving the minimal CP-nuclear-value tensor recovery. If a partial tensor is CP-recoverable, the algorithm can give a CP tensor recovery with the minimal CP-nuclear value, as well as a CP-nuclear decomposition of the recovered CP tensor. If it is not CP-recoverable, the algorithm can always give a certificate for that, when it is regular. Some numerical experiments are also presented.  相似文献
