The Planck's formula connecting an energy and frequency of quantum is known more than half-century. However there are obscure appearances and processes defining nature of the electromagnetic field quantum and reducing to this formula. The path to a solution of these problems uncloses a new solution of a problem of the dipole radiation. Hertz obtained the first solution describing of a dipole radiator field. However this solution and all subsequent ones are incomplete and they not give a complete exposition of the dipole field. In this paper we will show a possibility of complete exposition of a dipole radiator field by using both a complete set of the electromagnetic field equations obtained in [1] and also solution for a radiator of a longitudinal electromagnetic wave. The obtained solution is of great importance in understanding of a nature of quantum properties of electromagnetic field. The work contains series of assumptions about existence of some constants characterizing electromagnetic field.  相似文献

In this article, we describe how to develop a mode converter that transforms a plane electromagnetic wave into an inward-moving dipole wave. The latter one is intended to bring a single atom or ion from its ground state to an excited state by absorption of a single photon wave packet with near-100% efficiency. Refraction of an electromagnetic wave from a point source to a medium with a negative refractive index is considered. An electric Hertz dipole that is located in air and directed parallel to a plane interface is considered as the point source. It is rigorously shown that the electromagnetic radiation propagated from the dipole into the medium with the negative refractive index is focused within a certain region in this medium. The sizes of the focusing region are determined. As a result, it is pointed out that the diffraction limit cannot be overcome by using homogeneous materials with negative refractive indices.  相似文献

Starting from Maxwell's equations and considering the quadratic electro-optic effect as a perturbation, we present a generalized wave coupling theory of quadratic electro-optic effect in linear absorbent centrosymmetric medium. Reflection and Refraction of Light by an Anisotropic Layer The linear problem of reflection and refraction of plane monochromatic electromagnetic waves by a plane-parallel homogeneous anisotropic layer between (in general different) homogeneous optically isotropic semiinfinite media is treated on the basis of MAXWELL 's equations and the boundary conditions following from them. The permittivity tensor of the anisotropic layer is assumed to be widely arbitrary and therefore asymmetric, neglecting only the spatial dispersion, i. e., the dependence on the wave vector. The electrical fields of reflected, refracted, and transmitted waves are calculated in dependence on the electric field of the incident wave. The conditions for waveguide modes of the layer in the absence of incident waves are obtained from the vanishing of a determinant. The general formulae are specialized to the cases of normal incidence and also of perpendicular and parallel polarisation, relatively to the plane of incidence, of the refracted partial waves in the anisotropic layer thus obtaining simplifications in these cases. The interesting cases of uniaxial layers, when the optic axis lies either parallel or perpendicular to the plane of incidence, belong to the last mentioned special cases of perpendicular and parallel polarisation relatively to the plane of incidence.  相似文献

The reflection of an intense light wave from the boundary of a semiinfinite magnetic crystal is investigated theoretically. Expressions are obtained for the rotation angle of the polarization ellipse and the degree of ellipticity of the reflected wave as a function of the polarization of the incident radiation. We find the rms voltage on a receiving dipole antenna in the electromagnetic field of a quasipotential-wave packet in a magnetoplasma in the resonance frequency band. It is shown that this voltage can be determined as a product of the electromagnetic-field amplitude of the incident wave by the effective length Leff of the receiving antenna. For a short dipole whose length is much smaller than the electromagnetic-mode wavelength, the antenna effective length is proportional to the product of the dipole effective length in free space by the excitation coefficient of quasielectrostatic waves (non-normalized electric-field pattern of a dipole). In the case where the receiving antenna is located in proximity to the resonance cone on the lighted side, this excitation coefficient is much greater than unity. Therefore, the determined voltage differs significantly from the conventional estimate which is based on formulas valid for antennas in free space. We perform our derivations using the reciprocity theorem and the fluctuation-dissipation theorem applied to a regular electromagnetic field and a receiving antenna, which constitute the special case of a system which is not in equilibrium but allows an equilibrium (stationary state) to be reached between the incident radiation field and the electromagnetic field reemitted by the antenna. The emphasis is placed on the universal nature of the applied calculation procedure which is valid for arbitrary antennas and matters.  相似文献

The scattering of a plane electromagnetic wave by a solitary scatterer randomly positioned near a perfectly reflecting surface is investigated in the dipole approximation taking into account infinite multiplicity of scattering. It is shown that the presence of multiply reflected waves increases the “effective” polarizability of the particle and adds another component of the dipole moment along the normal to the surface. As a result, the backscattering enhancement effect becomes stronger, and the angle of incidence at which amplification of the p-polarized wave vanishes becomes smaller. Focusing of an electromagnetic wave radiated by a point source and transmitted through a plane layer filled with a medium with negative refractive index is considered. An elementary electric Hertzian dipole located in the air (or vacuum) parallel to the boundaries of the layer is considered as a point source of radiation. It is rigorously shown that, after transmitting through a layer with negative refractive index, the electromagnetic wave of the dipole is focused into a certain domain. The dimensions of the focusing region are investigated. The results of the investigation show that the use of homogeneous materials with negative refraction does not allow one to overcome the diffraction limit.  相似文献

This paper addresses the formulae and numerical issues related to the possibility that fast wave may be grown when a relativistic electron beam through an ion channel in a cylindrical metal waveguide.To derive the dispersion equations of the beam-wave interaction,it solves relativistic Lorentz equation and Maxwell’s equations for appropriate boundary conditions.It has been found in this waveguide structure that the TM 0m modes are the rational operating modes of coupling between the electromagnetic modes and the betatron modes.The interaction of the dispersion curves of the electromagnetic TM 0m modes and the upper betatron modes is studied.The growth rates of the wave are obtained,and the effects of the beam radius,the beam energy,the plasma frequency,and the beam plasma frequency on the wave growth rate are numerically calculated and discussed.  相似文献

We consider propagation of coupled waves (polaritons) formed by a scalar electromagnetic wave and excitations of a finite one-dimensional chain of dipoles. It is shown that a microscopic defect (an impurity dipole) embedded in the chain causes resonance tunneling of the electromagnetic wave with a macroscopic wavelength through the forbidden band between two polariton branches. We demonstrate that the resonance tunneling occurs due to local polariton states caused by the defect.  相似文献

One-quantum bound-bound transitions between high-excited states of a hydrogen atom are considered. Electron wave functions involving an electromagnetic field even in a zero-order approximation are constructed semiclassically. With these functions, it is shown that transitions accompanied by violation of the dipole selection rules are possible in strong fields. The propagation of an electromagnetic wave through a barrier with a periodic structure is considered. An interesting manifestation of electromagnetic wave tunneling through a barrier with a periodic structure is revealed. Specifically, it is theoretically and experimentally shown that, when an electromagnetic wave passes through a medium with a periodic structure in the diffraction mode within a photonic band gap, the field in the medium is localized near its boundaries. Theoretical calculations have been performed for a cholesteric liquid crystal layer of finite thickness and for a 1D photonic crystal. The experiment was carried out with perfect Si single crystals in reflection from the $ (2\bar 20)$ (2\bar 20) and $ (4\bar 40)$ (4\bar 40) planes using MoK α X rays.  相似文献

The perturbation method is employed to analyse the guided waves in a borehole surrounded by a cubic crystal medium for the first time. The cubic crystal medium is regarded as a reference unperturbed isotropic state added to the perturbation. The dispersion characteristics of Stoneley wave, pseudo-Rayleigh wave, flexural wave, and screw wave are investigated in detail. It is found that dispersion of the guided waves excited by monopole and dipole sources does not depend on the azimuth of the source, whereas the dispersion of screw wave excited by quadrupole source is significantly related to the azimuth of the source. Screw waves propagated along different azimuth in the borehole can be split. This is different from screw waves in transversely isotropic media (hexagonal crystal), which have been widely studied.  相似文献

The formulae for the momentum of quasi-monochromatic wave packets of transverse and longitudinal waves in a plasma without a magnetic field are derived including the terms of the second order in the amplitude of the electromagnetic field. The well-known increase of the momentum of the transverse wave penetrating into the plasma is given by the momentum (transported with the group velocity of the wave) of the averaged motion of the plasma. 利用微腔之间的立体耦合,提出了基于无源材料硅的双层光子晶体薄板H1(DLPCS-H1)腔,薄板之间为空气层.使用三维时域有限差分方法和Padé近似方法分析了DLPCS-H1腔的偶极模的场分布和品质因子.通过对中间空气层高度的优化使DLPCS-H1腔的偶极模的品质因子得到了显著的提高,大约为单层光子晶体薄板H1腔的偶极模的品质因子的4倍.此外,还研究了三层光子晶体薄板H1腔,它的偶极模的品质因子约为单层光子晶体薄板H1腔的偶极模的品质因子的7倍.  相似文献

The lattice-vibrating metal photonic crystal is exactly a system of dynamical Casimir effect connected in series, and so we can expect that a dynamical Casimir effect is enhanced by the photonic band effect. In the present study, when an electromagnetic field between metal plates is in the ground state in a one-dimensional metal photonic crystal, the radiation of electromagnetic wave in excited states has been investigated by artificially introducing lattice vibration to the photonic crystal. In this case as well as a dynamical Casimir effect, it has been shown that the harmonics of a ground state are generated just by vibrating a photonic crystal even without an incident wave. The dependencies of the radiating power on the number of layers and on the wavenumber of the lattice vibration are remarkable. It has been found that the radiation amplitude on lower excited states is not necessarily large and radiation on specific excited levels is large.  相似文献
