This study was designed to examine the chemical composition of the essential oil and the antioxidant activity of the essential oil and methanol extracts of Eucalyptus loxophleba Benth. subsp. The chemical composition of the essential oil of the leaves of E. loxophleba was analysed by GC and GC/MS. The main constituents of the oil were found to be 1,8-cineole (39.4%), methyl amyl acetate (19.8%) and aromadendrene (10%). Antioxidant activities of the samples were determined by two different test systems namely DPPH and β-carotene/linoleic acid. In the DPPH system, the highest radical-scavenging activity was shown by the polar subfraction of the methanol extract (15.2?±?1.7?μg?mL?1). Also, in the second case, the inhibition capacity (%) of the polar subfraction (94.1?±?1.3) was found to be stronger. In addition, the amounts of total phenol components in the polar subfraction (273.0?±?2.6?μg?mg?1) and nonpolar subfraction (146.3?±?2.5?μg?mg?1) were determined.  相似文献

The chemical composition of essential oil obtained by steam distillation of dried aerial parts of Phlomis bovei De Noé subsp. bovei collected from Algeria, was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Seventy five constituents (corresponding to 86.37% of the total weight) were identified. The main components were: germacrene D, beta-caryophyllene, beta-bournonene, thymol and hexahydrofarnesyl acetone. Furthermore, the antimicrobial activity of the oil was evaluated against six gram (+/-) bacteria and three pathogenic fungi, using the agar dilution technique. It was found that the oil exhibited strong antimicrobial activity against most of the tested microorganisms.  相似文献

Sabina chinensis cv. Kaizuca (SCK) is a variant of S. chinensis L. The essential oil from its leaves exhibited α-amylase inhibitory activity in vitro and the IC50 value was 187.08 ± 0.56 μg/mL. Nineteen compounds were identified from this essential oil by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis. The major compounds identified were bornyl acetate (42.6%), elemol (20.5%), β-myrcene (13.7%) and β-linalool (4.0%). In order to study the reason of the α-amylase inhibitory activity of this essential oil, the identified compounds were docked with α-amylase by molecular docking individually. Among these compounds, γ-eudesmol exhibited the lowest binding energy (?6.73 kcal/mol), followed by α-copaen-11-ol (?6.66 kcal/mol), cubedol (?6.39 kcal/mol) and α-acorenol (?6.12 kcal/mol). The results indicated that these compounds were the active ingredients responsible for the α-amylase inhibitory activity of essential oil from SCK.  相似文献

Elsholtzia densa Benth. is a traditional aromatic herb used in the pharmaceutical and flavouring industries. To analyse and compare the chemical composition, the oils and nonvolatile compounds in E. densa and Mosla chinensis Maxim. were extracted via hydrodistillation, solvent extraction or ultrasound-assisted extraction. Seventy-three volatile compounds in the volatile oil (0.35 ± 0.06%) obtained by E. densa via hydrodistillation were investigated by gas chromatography–mass spectrometer and compared based on different parameters. Also, the antioxidant activity and α-glucosidase inhibitory effects of the five sub-fractions of the methanolic extract were studied and the ethyl acetate sub-fraction (EC50 = 7.9 μg/mL) and petroleum ether sub-fraction (EC50 = 0.0955 mg/mL) showed the strongest activity, respectively. This study has provided a scientific basis for scientific collection, effective development, use of E. densa Benth., and suggested that it can be used as a potential source of antioxidants in food and a potential candidate for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus.  相似文献

The anti-inflammatory activity of two extracts from the aerial parts of Ledum palustre has been reported. The volatile oil was obtained by supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) and the essential oil by hydrodistillation (HD). The oils were analysed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry to monitor their composition. Both extracts shared as main compound (41.0–43.4%) ledol (23.3–26.7%) and ascaridole (15.1–4.5%). The anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated by the subcutaneous carrageenan injection-induced hind paw oedema. The treated animals received essential oil (SFE and HD), the reference group received ketoprofen or piroxicam and the control group received NaCl 0.9%. A statistical analysis was performed by the Student t-test. The results show that L. palustre essential oil enhanced a significant inhibition of oedema (50–73%) for HD oil and (52–80%) for SFE oil. These results were similar to those obtained with piroxicam (70%) and ketoprofen (55%).  相似文献

The present study reports the chemical composition and antioxidant activities of the essential oil extracted from the leaves and tender branches of Hypericum gaitii Haines (Hypericaceae) – an endemic plant of Eastern India. On hydrodistillation, the fresh leaves and tender parts of H. gaitii yielded 0.43% (v/w) of pale yellowish essential oil. Gas chromatography mass spectrometry analysis revealed the presence of 40 compounds, which represent 96.9% of the total oil. Monoterpene hydrocarbons (79.3%) predominated followed by sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (12.6%). Of these, α-pinene (69.5%), β-caryophyllene (10.5%), sabinene (5.6%), myrcene (3.0%) and geranyl acetate (2.0%) were the main constituents. Antioxidant activities of oil were evaluated by three different systems namely 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2-azinobis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) and reducing power assay. Essential oil exhibited moderate antioxidant activities compared to butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and ascorbic acid.  相似文献

The antibacterial effects of Thymus vulgaris (Lamiaceae), Lavandula angustifolia (Lamiaceae), and Calamintha nepeta (Lamiaceae) Savi subsp. nepeta var. subisodonda (Borb.) Hayek essential oils on five different bacteria were estimated. Laboratory control strain and clinical isolates from different pathogenic media were researched by broth microdilution method, with an emphasis on a chemical composition–antibacterial activity relationship. The main constituents of thyme oil were thymol (59.95%) and p-cymene (18.34%). Linalool acetate (38.23%) and β-linalool (35.01%) were main compounds in lavender oil. C. nepeta essential oil was characterized by a high percentage of piperitone oxide (59.07%) and limonene (9.05%). Essential oils have been found to have antimicrobial activity against all tested microorganisms. Classification and comparison of essential oils on the basis of their chemical composition and antibacterial activity were made by utilization of appropriate chemometric methods. The chemical principal component analysis (PCA) and hierachical cluster analysis (HCA) separated essential oils into two groups and two sub-groups. Thyme essential oil forms separate chemical HCA group and exhibits highest antibacterial activity, similar to tetracycline. Essential oils of lavender and C. nepeta in the same chemical HCA group were classified in different groups, within antibacterial PCA and HCA analyses. Lavender oil exhibits higher antibacterial ability in comparison with C. nepeta essential oil, probably based on the concept of synergistic activity of essential oil components.  相似文献

Essential oil of Artemisia argyi Lévl. et Vant inflorescence was obtained by supercritical CO(2) extraction and hydrodistillation. The oil was analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry to characterize its components and was also tested for antifungal activity. A total of 61 compounds were identified in the hydrodistilled oil. The major components were 1,8-cineole (4.46%), borneol (3.58%), terpinol (10.18%), spathulenol (10.03%), caryophyllene oxide (6.51%), juniper camphor (8.74%), Camazulene (2.05%), and camphor (3.49%). By using supercritical CO(2) at 50 degrees C and 10 MPa, the concentrations of previous main components were lower than oil obtained by hydrodistillation, while miscellaneous compounds were higher. The essential oil extracted by these two methods exhibited antifungal activity against Botrytis cinerea and Alternaria alternate, two common storage pathogens of fruits and vegetables. The inhibition of B. cinerea and A. alternate were 93.3 and 84.7% for oil extracted by hydrodistillation when exposed to a concentration of 1,000 mg L(-1), while values of 70.8 and 60.5% were observed from oil extracted by supercritical CO(2).  相似文献

The reaction of 1,2-phenylenediamine with a variety of silicon- or germanium-containing 2-furaldehydes or 2-thienylcarbaldehydes in DMFA gave the corresponding benzimidazole derivatives in moderate yields (36–49%) in the presence of sodium hydrogen sulfite. As a result, a new series of silyl, germyl substituted hetarylbenzimidazoles were synthesized and their in vitro cytotoxicity was studied. The quaternisation of N-substituted benzimidazoles by heating with various alkyl, allyl and propargyl chlorides and bromides leads to the formation of benzimidazolinium salts. Potential cytotoxic activity of synthesized new benzimidazoles and benzimidazolinium salts was tested in vitro on two monolayer tumour cell lines: MG-22A (mouse hepatoma), HT-1080 (human fibrosarcoma) and normal mouse fibroblasts (NIH 3T3) and compared with corresponding benzimidazoles.  相似文献

Due to the negative impact of the presence of fatty acid methyl esters in kerosene for the aviation industry, in this work a comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography method with flame ionization detector for the determination of trace levels of fatty acid methyl esters in kerosene was developed. It is based on the use of a first dimension polar column and a second dimension non-polar column. Identification of fatty acid methyl esters is based on retention times and the external standard calibration is used for quantitation. Results were compared with those obtained from the GC–MS reference method; good recoveries, close to 100 %, and limit of detection in a range from 3 to 6 μg kg−1 were found without requiring a specific detector.

A new offline-pyrolysis rig has been designed to allow multifunctional experiments for preparative and analytical purposes. The system conditions can be set and monitored, e.g. temperature, its gradients and heat flux. Some special features include (1) high heating rates up to 120 °C/s with pyrolysis temperatures up to 850 °C at variable pyrolysis times and (2) the selection of different atmospheres during pyrolysis. A complete mass balance of products and reactants (gas, liquids and solids) by gravimetric methods and sequential chromatographic analyses was obtained. The pyrolytic behaviour and the decomposition products of lignin-related compounds were studied under different conditions: heating rates (from 2.6 °C/s up to 120 °C/s), pyrolysis temperatures at 500 °C and 800 °C in different atmospheres (N2, H2, and mixtures of N2 and acetylene). Kraft lignin, soda lignin, organosolv lignin, pyrolytic lignin from pine bio-oil, residues from biomass hydrolysis and fermentation were studied. The obtained pyrolysis products were classified into three general groups: coke, liquid phase and gas phase (volatile organic compounds (VOC) and permanent gases). The liquid fraction was analysed by GC–MS/FID. In addition, comprehensive two-dimensional GC was applied to further characterise the liquid fraction. VOCs were semi-quantified by a modified headspace technique using GC–MS/FID analysis. The micro-pyrolysis rig proved to be an efficient and useful device for complex pyrolysis applications.  相似文献

The present study investigated the essential oil obtained from Campomanesia guazumifolia (Cambess.) O. Berg, an aromatic plant used in Brazilian folk medicine. The chemical composition was performed by GC×GC/qMS. The antioxidant and antimicrobial activities were evaluated by DPPH and BCB and, MIC assays, respectively. Sixty-eight compounds were identified in the oil, where the major compounds were bicyclogermacrene (15%), globulol (5%) and spathulenol (5%). Sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (29 compounds) and oxygenated sesquiterpenes (20 compounds) were the most representative classes of terpenes. DPPH (IC50 value 26.1 ± 0.5 μg/mL) and BCB (68.3 ± 1.5%) values indicated a significant antioxidant activity. The essential oil strongly inhibited Staphylococcus aureus (MIC 15 ± 0.1 μg/mL), Escherichia coli (MIC 25 ± 0.2 μg/mL) and Candida albicans (MIC 5 ± 0.1 μg/mL). The results give a deeper understanding of the chemical composition and report for the first time the antioxidant and antimicrobial potential of the C. guazumifolia essential oil.  相似文献

As part of our work on prospecting of Cinnamomum of the Western Ghats, chemical compositions, antioxidant, α-amylase, α-glucosidase and lipase inhibitory activities of leaf essential oil (EO) of Cinnamomum chemungianum were evaluated. Chemical characterisation of the cumin scented leaf EO from five locations in the southern Western Ghats revealed that they were highly varied. EO from Kannikatti (CC2) exhibited good α-amylase inhibitory activity with IC50 value of 5.97 μg/mL, whereas the EOs from Chemungi (CC1) and Athirumala (CC5) showed better α-glucosidase inhibition with IC50 of 56.65 and 62.12 μg/mL, respectively. The EOs from Chemungi, Kannikatti and Athirumala were found to inhibit lipase with IC50 of 919.75, 923.17 and 838.46 μg/mL, respectively. The EO of C. chemungianum may be used in food products as it has cumin scent and mild inhibitory activities.  相似文献

Abstract

Hydro-distilled essential oils, from fresh rhizomes and leaves of Curcuma mutabilis ?korni?k., M.Sabu & Prasanthk., characterized by GC–MS revealed the presence of thirty three and twenty three compounds therein respectively. Whilst estrone methyl ether (3-Methoxyestra-1,3,5(10)-trien-17-one) was the major component in rhizome oil (47.35%), sesquiterpene hydrocarbons predominated as the major group (63.92%) in leaf oil with a higher preponderance of β-caryophyllene (25.48%), β-farnesene (19.47%) and α-humulene (11.01%). Weak antioxidant activities observed in these oils determined by DPPH and ABTS methods were apparently influenced both by the oil composition and the assay conditions. Rhizome oil showed higher antiproliferative activity than leaf oil against leukemic K562 (IC50-6.8µg/mL) and colorectal HCT116 (IC50-8.5µg/mL) cancer cell lines. This first report reveals composition and biological activities of essential oils from C. mutabilis.  相似文献

Synthesis of titanium–magnesium nanocatalyst in a high-pressure reactor under the conditions modeling the industrial conditions was studied. A laboratory scale plant including the units for the product synthesis, washing, and filtration was developed. The effect of elevated pressure (10–90 atm) on the process course, on the properties of the catalyst formed, and on the isoprene polymerization was studied for the first time. An increase in pressure leads to an increase in titanium incorporation into the catalyst from 1.52 to 2–2.3 wt % and simultaneously to an increase in the trivalent titanium content to 81 wt %. The titanium–magnesium nanocatalyst with such properties exhibits enhanced performance in isoprene polymerization without deteriorating the polymer microstructure. The development of the catalyst synthesis procedure on the laboratory scale plant will allow pilot-scale modeling of this process in the future.  相似文献

New compounds of aspartic acid Cs(ASP) · nH2O (n = 0, 1) have been synthesized and characterized by XRD, IR and Raman spectroscopy as well as TG. The structural formula of this new compound was Cs(ASP) · nH2O (n = 0, 1). The enthalpy of solution of Cs(ASP) · nH2O (n = 0, 1) in water were determined. With the incorporation of the standard molar enthalpies of formation of CsOH(aq) and ASP(s), the standard molar enthalpy of formation of −(1202.9 ± 0.2) kJ · mol−1 of Cs(ASP) and −(1490.7 ± 0.2) kJ · mol−1 of Cs(ASP) · H2O were obtained.  相似文献

Platinum containing compounds have shown antineoplastic potential, but their clinical applications have been limited by high toxicity. Ruthenium containing complexes have long been known to be well suited for biological applications, and have long been utilized as replacements to popular platinum based-drugs. Here, we report a novel series of ruthenium(II) arene compounds bearing thiosemicarbazone and isonicotinylhydrazone ligands with potent anticancer activity their structure activity relationships and apoptosis was studied. The cytotoxic activity of the new ruthenium(II) arene compounds has been evaluated in several cell lines (Molt 4/C8, L1210, CEM, HL60 and BEL7402). Among them, ten complexes were found to be excellent in vitro growth inhibitory activity against various cell lines with IC50 in the sub-micromolar range.  相似文献
