In this paper, we introduce weighted variational inequalities over product of sets and system of weighted variational inequalities. It is noted that the weighted variational inequality problem over product of sets and the problem of system of weighted variational inequalities are equivalent. We give a relationship between system of weighted variational inequalities and systems of vector variational inequalities. We define several kinds of weighted monotonicities and establish several existence results for the solution of the above-mentioned problems under these weighted monotonicities. We introduce also the weighted generalized variational inequalities over product of sets, that is, weighted variational inequalities for multivalued maps and systems of weighted generalized variational inequalities. Extensions of weighted monotonicities for multivalued maps are also considered. The existence of a solution of weighted generalized variational inequalities over product of sets is also studied. The existence results for a solution of weighted generalized variational inequality problem give also the existence of solutions of systems of generalized vector variational inequalities. The boundary element approximation of the parabolic variational inequalities of the second kind is discussed. First, the parabolic variational inequalities of the second kind can be reduced to an elliptic variational inequality by using semidiscretization and implicit method in time; then the existence and uniqueness for the solution of nonlinear non-differentiable mixed variational inequality is discussed. Its corresponding mixed boundary variational inequality and the existence and uniqueness of its solution are yielded. This provides the theoretical basis for using boundary element method to solve the mixed vuriational inequality.  相似文献

Vector Variational Inequality and Vector Pseudolinear Optimization   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7
The study of a vector variational inequality has been advanced because it has many applications in vector optimization problems and vector equilibrium flows. In this paper, we discuss relations between a solution of a vector variational inequality and a Pareto solution or a properly efficient solution of a vector optimization problem. We show that a vector variational inequality is a necessary and sufficient optimality condition for an efficient solution of the vector pseudolinear optimization problem.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We study the inverse problem of identifying a variable parameter in variational and quasi-variational inequalities. We consider a quasi-variational inequality involving a multi-valued monotone map and give a new existence result. We then formulate the inverse problem as an optimization problem and prove its solvability. We also conduct a thorough study of the inverse problem of parameter identification in noncoercive variational inequalities which appear commonly in applied models. We study the inverse problem by posing optimization problems using the output least-squares and the modified output least-squares. Using regularization, penalization, and smoothing, we obtain a single-valued parameter-to-selection map and study its differentiability. We consider optimization problems using the output least-squares and the modified output least-squares for the regularized, penalized and smoothened variational inequality. We give existence results, convergence analysis, and optimality conditions. We provide applications and numerical examples to justify the proposed framework.  相似文献

We consider a useful modification of the inexact implicit method with a variable parameter in Wang et al. J Optim Theory 111: 431–443 (2001) for generalized mixed monotone variational inequalities. One of the contributions of the proposed method in this paper is that the restrictions imposed on the variable parameter are weaker than the ones in Wang et al. J Optim Theory 111: 431–443 (2001). Another contribution is that we establish a sufficient and necessary condition for the convergence of the proposed method to a solution of the general mixed monotone variational inequality.  相似文献

Extended Projection Methods for Monotone Variational Inequalities   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this paper, we prove that each monotone variational inequality is equivalent to a two-mapping variational inequality problem. On the basis of this fact, a new class of iterative methods for the solution of nonlinear monotone variational inequality problems is presented. The global convergence of the proposed methods is established under the monotonicity assumption. The conditions concerning the implementability of the algorithms are also discussed. The proposed methods have a close relationship to the Douglas–Rachford operator splitting method for monotone variational inequalities.  相似文献

This paper studies the variational inequality problem over a fuzzy domain and variational inequalities for fuzzy mappings over a fuzzy domain. It is shown that such problems can be reduced to bilevel programming problems. A penalty function algorithm is introduced with a convergence proof. Numerical examples are also included to illustrate the solution procedure.  相似文献

We start with a mathematical model which describes the sliding contact of a viscoelastic body with a moving foundation. The contact is frictional and the wear of the contact surfaces is taken into account. We prove that this model leads to a differential variational inequality in which the unknowns are the displacement field and the wear function. Then, inspired by this model, we consider a general differential variational inequality in reflexive Banach spaces, governed by four parameters. We prove the unique solvability of the inequality as well as the continuous dependence of its solution with respect to the parameters. The proofs are based on arguments of monotonicity, compactness, convex analysis and lower semicontinuity. Then, we apply these abstract results to the mathematical model of contact for which we deduce the existence of a unique solution as well as the existence of optimal control for an associate optimal control problem. We also present the corresponding mechanical interpretations.  相似文献

In this article, we use degree theory developed in Kien et al. [B.T. Kien, M.-M. Wong, N.C. Wong, and J.C. Yao, Degree theory for generalized variational inequalities and applications, Eur. J. Oper. Res. 193 (2009), pp. 12–22.] to prove a result on the existence of solutions to set-valued variational inequality under a weak coercivity condition, provided that the set-valued mapping is upper semicontinuous with nonempty compact convex values. If the set-valued mapping is pseudomonotone in the sense of Karamardian and upper semicontinuous with nonempty compact convex values, it is shown that the set-valued variational inequality is strictly feasible if and only if its solution set is nonempty and bounded.  相似文献

In this note, by using some well-known results on properly efficient solutions of vector optimization problems, we show that the Pareto solution set of a vector variational inequality with a polyhedral constraint set can be expressed as the union of the solution sets of a family of (scalar) variational inequalities.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce new dual problems of generalized vector variational inequality problems with set-valued maps and we discuss a link between the solution sets of the primal and dual problems. The notion of solutions in each of these problems is introduced via the concepts of efficiency, weak efficiency or Benson proper efficiency in vector optimization. We provide also examples showing that some earlier duality results for vector variational inequality may not be true. This work was supported by the Brain Korea 21 Project in 2006.  相似文献

In scalar optimization it is well known that a solution of a Minty variational inequality of differential type is a solution of the related optimization problem. This relation is known as “Minty variational principle.” In the vector case, the links between Minty variational inequalities and vector optimization problems were investigated in [F. Giannessi, On Minty variational principle, in: New Trends in Mathematical Programming, Kluwer Academic, Dordrecht, 1997, pp. 93-99] and subsequently in [X.M. Yang, X.Q. Yang, K.L. Teo, Some remarks on the Minty vector variational inequality, J. Optim. Theory Appl. 121 (2004) 193-201]. In these papers, in the particular case of a differentiable objective function f taking values in Rm and a Pareto ordering cone, it has been shown that the vector Minty variational principle holds for pseudoconvex functions. In this paper we extend such results to the case of an arbitrary ordering cone and a nondifferentiable objective function, distinguishing two different kinds of solutions of a vector optimization problem, namely ideal (or absolute) efficient points and weakly efficient points. Further, we point out that in the vector case, the Minty variational principle cannot be extended to quasiconvex functions.  相似文献

We motivate the study of a vector variational inequality by a practical flow equilibrium problem on a network, namely a generalization of the well-known Wardrop equilibrium principle. Both weak and strong forms of the vector variational inequality are discussed and their relationships to a vector optimization problem are established under various convexity assumptions.  相似文献

The hemivariational inequality approach is applied to establish the existence of solutions to a large class of nonconvex constrained problems in a reflexive Banach space. The admissible sets are supposed to be star-shaped with respect to a ball. Due to a discontinuity property of the Clarke directional differential related to the corresponding distance functions, the proposed method permits one to attain the solution without passing to zero with the penalization parameter. Some applications to nonconvex constrained variational problems illustrate the theory.  相似文献

Verma introduced a system of nonlinear variational inequalities and proposed projection methods to solve it. This system reduces to a variational inequality problem under certain conditions. So, at least in form, it can be regarded as a extension of a variational inequality problem. In this note, we show that solving this system coincides exactly with solving a variational inequality problem. Therefore, we conclude that it suffices to study the corresponding variational inequalities. This work was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Grant 10571134.Communicated by M. Vector complementarity and minimal element problems   总被引:13,自引:0,他引:13
In this paper, vector complementarity problems are introduced as weak versions of vector variational inequalities in ordered Banach spaces. New dual cones are introduced and proved to be closed. In the sense of efficient point, we prove that the minimal element problem is solvable if a vector variational inequality is solvable; we also prove that any solution of a strong vector variational inequality or positive vector complementarity problem is a solution of the minimal element problem. This work was done while the author was with the Chongqing Institute of Architecture and Engineering, Chongqing, P. In this paper, we present a continuous method for convex programming (CP) problems. Our approach converts first the convex problem into a monotone variational inequality (VI) problem. Then, a continuous method, which includes both a merit function and an ordinary differential equation (ODE), is introduced for the resulting variational inequality problem. The convergence of the ODE solution is proved for any starting point. There is no Lipschitz condition required in our proof. We show also that this limit point is an optimal solution for the original convex problem. Promising numerical results are presented. This research was supported in part by Grants FRG/01-02/I-39 and FRG/01-02/II-06 of Hong Kong Baptist University and Grant HKBU2059/02P from the Research Grant Council of Hong Kong. The author thanks Professor Bingsheng He for many helpful suggestions and discussions.
