The Keldysh equation is a more general form of the classic Tricomi equation from fluid dynamics. Its well-posedness and the regularity of its solution are interesting and important. The Keldysh equation is elliptic in y>0 and is degenerate at the line y=0 in R2. Adding a special nonlinear absorption term, we study a nonlinear degenerate elliptic equation with mixed boundary conditions in a piecewise smooth domain—similar to the potential fluid shock reflection problem. By means of an elliptic regularization technique, a delicate a priori estimate and compact argument, we show that the solution of a mixed boundary value problem of the Keldysh equation is smooth in the interior and Lipschitz continuous up to the degenerate boundary under some conditions. We believe that this kind of regularity result for the solution will be rather useful.  相似文献

The Dirichlet problem in a rectangle is considered for the elliptic equation ?2Δu = F(u, x, y, ?), where F(u, x, y, ?) is a nonlinear function of u. The method of corner boundary functions is applied to the problem. Assuming that the leading term of the corner part of the asymptotics exists, an asymptotic expansion of the solution is constructed and the remainder is estimated.  相似文献

The problem of shock reflection by a wedge, which the flow is dominated by the unsteady potential flow equation, is a important problem. In weak regular reflection, the flow behind the reflected shock is immediately supersonic and becomes subsonic further downstream. The reflected shock is transonic. Its position is a free boundary for the unsteady potential equation, which is degenerate at the sonic line in self-similar coordinates. Applying the special partial hodograph transformation used in [Zhouping Xin, Huicheng Yin, Transonic shock in a nozzle I, 2-D case, Comm. Pure Appl. Math. 57 (2004) 1-51; Zhouping Xin, Huicheng Yin, Transonic shock in a nozzle II, 3-D case, IMS, preprint (2003)], we derive a nonlinear degenerate elliptic equation with nonlinear boundary conditions in a piecewise smooth domain. When the angle, which between incident shock and wedge, is small, we can see that weak regular reflection as the disturbance of normal reflection as in [Shuxing Chen, Linear approximation of shock reflection at a wedge with large angle, Comm. Partial Differential Equations 21 (78) (1996) 1103-1118]. By linearizing the resulted nonlinear equation and boundary conditions with above viewpoint, we obtain a linear degenerate elliptic equation with mixed boundary conditions and a linear degenerate elliptic equation with oblique boundary conditions in a curved quadrilateral domain. By means of elliptic regularization techniques, delicate a priori estimate and compact arguments, we show that the solution of linearized problem with oblique boundary conditions is smooth in the interior and Lipschitz continuous up to the degenerate boundary.  相似文献

The present paper deals with the mixed boundary value problem for a nonlinear elliptic equation with degenerate rank 0. We first give the formulation of the problem and estimates of solutions of the problem, and then prove the uniqueness and existence of solutions of the above problem for the nonlinear elliptic equation by the extremum principle and the method of parameter extension. The complex method is used to discuss the corresponding problem for degenerate elliptic complex equation of first order and then that of second order.  相似文献

Firstly, the Riemann boundary value problem for a kind of degenerate elliptic system of the first order equations in R 4 is proposed. Then, with the help of the one-to-one correspondence between the theory of Clifford valued generalized regular functions and that of the degenerate elliptic system’s solution, the boundary value problem as stated above is transformed into a boundary value problem related to the generalized regular functions in Clifford analysis. Moreover, the solution of the Riemann boundary value problem for the degenerate elliptic system is explicitly described by using a kind of singular integral operator. Finally, the conditions for the existence of solutions of the oblique derivative problem for another kind of degenerate elliptic system of the first order equations in R 4 are derived.  相似文献

We provide regularity results at the boundary for continuous viscosity solutions to nonconvex fully nonlinear uniformly elliptic equations and inequalities in Euclidian domains. We show that (i) any solution of two sided inequalities with Pucci extremal operators is C 1, α on the boundary; (ii) the solution of the Dirichlet problem for fully nonlinear uniformly elliptic equations is C 2, α on the boundary; (iii) corresponding asymptotic expansions hold. This is an extension to viscosity solutions of the classical Krylov estimates for smooth solutions.  相似文献

A mixed boundary value problem for a singularly perturbed reaction-diffusion equation in an L-shaped domain is considered for when the solution has singularities at the corners of the domain. The densification of the Shishkin mesh near the inner corner where different boundary conditions meet is such that the solution obtained by the classical five-point difference scheme converges to the solution of the initial problem in the mesh norm L ?? h uniformly with respect to the small parameter with almost second order, i.e., as a smooth solution. Numerical analysis confirms the theoretical result.  相似文献

In this paper we will prove existence, uniqueness and regularity of a classical solution to a mixed boundary value problem for Chaplygin's hodograph equation, which is degenerate elliptic on a part of the boundary. This problem is derived from the study of detached bow shock ahead of a straight ramp in uniform supersonic flows in the hodograph plane. The proof depends on Perron's method and some techniques from linear elliptic equations.  相似文献

We study the obstacle problem for a nonlocal, degenerate elliptic Monge–Ampère equation. We show existence and regularity of a unique classical solution to the problem and regularity of the free boundary.  相似文献

A multiplicity result for the singular ordinary differential equation y+λx−2yσ=0, posed in the interval (0,1), with the boundary conditions y(0)=0 and y(1)=γ, where σ>1, λ>0 and γ?0 are real parameters, is presented. Using a logarithmic transformation and an integral equation method, we show that there exists Σ?∈(0,σ/2] such that a solution to the above problem is possible if and only if λγσ−1?Σ?. For 0<λγσ−1<Σ?, there are multiple positive solutions, while if γ=(λ−1Σ?)1/(σ−1) the problem has a unique positive solution which is monotonic increasing. The asymptotic behavior of y(x) as x0+ is also given, which allows us to establish the absence of positive solution to the singular Dirichlet elliptic problem −Δu=d−2(x)uσ in Ω, where ΩRN, N?2, is a smooth bounded domain and d(x)=dist(x,∂Ω).  相似文献

We establish the existence of the classical solution for the pressure-gradient equation in a non-smooth and non-convex domain. The equation is elliptic inside the domain, becomes degenerate on the boundary, and is singular at the origin when the origin lies on the boundary. We show the solution is smooth inside the domain and continuous up to the boundary.  相似文献

We study the nonlinear boundary value problem consisting of the equation y+w(t)f(y)=0 on [a,b] and a multi-point boundary condition. By relating it to the eigenvalues of a linear Sturm-Liouville problem with a two-point separated boundary condition, we obtain results on the existence and nonexistence of nodal solutions of this problem. We also discuss the changes in the existence question for different types of nodal solutions as the problem changes.  相似文献

We study a semilinear elliptic equation Au = f(x, u) with nonlinear Neumann boundary condition Bu = φ(ξ, u) in an unbounded domain Ω ? ?n, the boundary of which is defined by periodic functions. We assume that f and φ and the coefficients of the operators are asymptotically periodic in the space variables. Our main result states the existence of an asymptotically decaying, nontrivial solution of this problem with minimal energy. The proof is based on the concentration-compactness principle.  相似文献

In this paper we study boundary value problems for semilinear equations involving strongly degenerate elliptic differential operators. Via a Pohozaev??s type identity we show that if the nonlinear term grows faster than some power function then the boundary value problem has no nontrivial solution. Otherwise when the nonlinear term grows slower than the same power function, by establishing embedding theorems for weighted Sobolev spaces associated with the strongly degenerate elliptic equations, then applying the theory of critical values in Banach spaces, we prove that the problem has a nontrivial solution, or even infinite number of solutions provided that the nonlinear term is an odd function.  相似文献

This paper deals with development and analysis of finite volume schemes for a one-dimensional nonlinear, degenerate, convection-diffusion equation having application in petroleum reservoir and groundwater aquifer simulation. The main difficulty is that the solution typically lacks regularity due to the degenerate nonlinear diffusion term. We analyze and compare three families of numerical schemes corresponding to explicit, semi-implicit, and implicit discretization of the diffusion term and a Godunov scheme for the advection term. L stability under appropriate CFL conditions and BV estimates are obtained. It is shown that the schemes satisfy a discrete maximum principle. Then we prove convergence of the approximate solution to the weak solution of the problem. Results of numerical experiments using the present approach are reported.  相似文献

The Dirichlet problem in arbitrary domain for degenerate and singular anisotropic parabolic equations with a nonlinear source term is considered. We state conditions that guarantee the existence and uniqueness of a global weak solution to the problem. A similar result is proved for the parabolic p-Laplace equation.  相似文献

We consider a classical semilinear elliptic equation with Neumann boundary conditions on an annulus in R N . The nonlinear term is the product of a radially symmetric coefficient with a pure power. We prove that if the power is sufficiently large, the problem admits at least three distinct positive and radial solutions. In case the coefficient is constant, we show that none of the three solutions is constant. The methods are variational and are based on the study of a suitable limit problem.  相似文献

We investigate the Cauchy problem for linear elliptic operators with C –coefficients at a regular set Ω ? R 2, which is a classical example of an ill-posed problem. The Cauchy data are given at the manifold Γ ? ?Ω and our goal is to reconstruct the trace of the H 1(Ω) solution of an elliptic equation at ?Ω/Γ. The method proposed here composes the segmenting Mann iteration with a fixed point equation associated with the elliptic Cauchy problem. Our algorithm generalizes the iterative method developed by Maz'ya et al., who proposed a method based on solving successive well-posed mixed boundary value problems. We analyze the regularizing and convergence properties both theoretically and numerically.

The purpose of this paper is to study a class of semilinear elliptic boundary value problems with degenerate boundary conditions which include as particular cases the Dirichlet problem and the Robin problem. The approach here is based on the super‐sub‐solution method in the degenerate case, and is distinguished by the extensive use of an Lp Schauder theory elaborated for second‐order, elliptic differential operators with discontinuous zero‐th order term. By using Schauder's fixed point theorem, we prove that the existence of an ordered pair of sub‐ and supersolutions of our problem implies the existence of a solution of the problem. The results extend an earlier theorem due to Kazdan and Warner to the degenerate case. © 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim  相似文献
