Nesterenko (Sb. Math. 187:1319–1348, [1996]) proved, among other results, the algebraic independence over ℚ of the numbers π and e π . A very important feature of his proof is a multiplicity estimate for quasi-modular forms associated to SL 2(ℤ) which involves differential properties of certain non-linear differential systems. The aim of this article is to begin the study of the corresponding properties for Hilbert modular and quasi-modular forms, especially those which are associated with the number field . We show that the differential structure of these functions has several analogies with the differential structure of the quasi-modular forms associated to SL 2(ℤ).   相似文献

For a given idealI of a commutative ringA, B=A/I, the vanishing of the second André-Quillen (co)homology functorH 2 (A, B, δ) is characterized in terms of the canonical homomorphism α:S(I)→R(I) from the symmetric algebra of the idealI onto its Rees algebra. This is done by introducing a Koszul complex that characterizes commutative graded algebras which are symmetric algebras.

We give the definition of a standard basis of a T-ideal of the free associative algebra over a field of zero characteristic and indicate some basis called canonical in the linear space of n-linear forms. Using this basis, we construct a standard basis in the T-ideal of identities satisfied by the algebra of upper triangular (n × n)-matrices.  相似文献

Classes of indefinite quadratic forms in a genus are in correspondence with the Galois group of an abelian extension called the spinor class field (Estes and Hsia, Japanese J. Math. 16, 341–350 (1990)). Hsia has proved (Hsia et al., J. Reine Angew. Math. 494, 129–140 (1998)) the existence of a representation field F with the property that a lattice in the genus represents a fixed given lattice if and only if the corresponding element of the Galois group is trivial on F. This far, the corresponding result for skew-hermitian forms was known only in some special cases, e.g., when the ideal (2) is square free over the base field. In this work we prove the existence of representation fields for quaternionic skew-hermitian forms in complete generality.  相似文献

The distribution has been derived in three series forms: (1) a series of Meijer'sG-functions through Mellin transform, (2) an, alternate series using contour, intergration and (3) a series of chi square distributions. The problem of association between two attributes in ap×q contingency table can be looked upon as the problem of relationship between two vector variablesx andy. If there is only one true non-zero canonical correlation betweenx andy, the association between the two attributes is of rank 1 and in this case, one set of scores is adequate to describe the association completely; these scores are nothing but the coefficients in the canonical variates corresponding to the true non-zero canonical correlation. Given a set of hypothetical scoresα 11,⋯,αp for the rows, one is interested in testing their goodness of fit. Tests for this are suggested in this paper. For obtaining these tests, a preliminary result about direction and collinearity factors in discriminant analysis, whenS irrelevant variables are eliminated, is needed. We consider a special space of set-valued functions (multifunctions), the space of densely continuous forms D(X, Y) between Hausdorff spaces X and Y, defined in [HAMMER, S. T.—McCOY, R. A.: Spaces of densely continuous forms, Set-Valued Anal. 5 (1997), 247–266] and investigated also in [HOLá, L’.: Spaces of densely continuous forms, USCO and minimal USCO maps, Set-Valued Anal. 11 (2003), 133–151]. We show some of its properties, completing the results from the papers [HOLY, D.—VADOVIČ, P.: Densely continuous forms, pointwise topology and cardinal functions, Czechoslovak Math. J. 58(133) (2008), 79–92] and [HOLY, D.—VADOVIČ, P.: Hausdorff graph topology, proximal graph topology and the uniform topology for densely continuous forms and minimal USCO maps, Acta Math. Hungar. 116 (2007), 133–144], in particular concerning the structure of the space of real-valued locally bounded densely continuous forms D p *(X) equipped with the topology of pointwise convergence in the product space of all nonempty-compact-valued multifunctions. The paper also contains a comparison of cardinal functions on D p *(X) and on real-valued continuous functions C p (X) and a generalization of a sufficient condition for the countable cellularity of D p *(X).  In a recent paper [Duke Math. J., 97, 219–233], Borcherds asks whether or not the spaces of vector valued modular forms associated to the Weil representation have bases of modular forms whose Fourier expansions have only integer coefficients. We give an affirmative answer to Borcherds' question. This strengthens and simplifies Borcherds' main theorem which is a generalization of a theorem of Gross, Kohnen, and Zagier [Math. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a connected monounary algebra (A, f), under which the lattice R (A, f) of all retracts of (A, f) (together with ∅) is algebraic, are proved. Simultaneously, all connected monounary algebras in which each retract is a union of completely join-irreducible elements of R (A, f) are characterized. Further, there are described all connected monounary algebras (A, f) such that the lattice R (A, f) is complemented. In this case R (A, f) forms a boolean lattice.  相似文献

We study the natural almost CR structure on the total space of a subbundle of hyperquadrics of the tangent bundle T(M) over a semi-Riemannian manifold (M, g) and show that if the Reeb vector ξ of an almost contact Riemannian manifold is a CR map then the natural almost CR structure on M is strictly pseudoconvex and a posteriori ξ is pseudohermitian. If in addition ξ is geodesic then it is a harmonic vector field. As an other application, we study pseudoharmonic vector fields on a compact strictly pseudoconvex CR manifold M, i.e. unit (with respect to the Webster metric associated with a fixed contact form on M) vector fields X ε H(M) whose horizontal lift X↑ to the canonical circle bundle S1 → C(M) → M is a critical point of the Dirichlet energy functional associated to the Fefferman metric (a Lorentz metric on C(M)). We study to classify, up to isomorphism, algebras Λ over a field k such that the radical cubed is zero and Λ modulo the radical is a product of copies of k. The number of local quasi-Frobenius k-algebras with the condition is shown to be not less than the cardinality of k. In particular, the canonical forms of those algebras of dimension 5 are presented and their isomorphism classes are completely determined under some conditions on k.   相似文献

Direct constructions of Diophantine representations for linear recurrent sequences are considered. Diophantine representations of the sets of values for third-order sequences with negative discriminants are found. As an auxiliary problem, we study the structure of the multiplicative group of the ringZ[λ], where λ is an invertible algebraic integer (unit) in a real quadratic field or in a cubic field of negative discriminant. The index of the subgroup {±λ n nZ} in the group (Z[λ])* and the generator of (Z[λ])* are evaluated explicitly. Bibliography: 14 titles. We study the moduli surface for pairs of elliptic curves together with an isomorphism between their N-torsion groups. The Weil pairing gives a “determinant” map from this moduli surface to (Z/N Z)*; its fibers are the components of the surface. We define spaces of modular forms on these components and Hecke correspondences between them, and study how those spaces of modular forms behave as modules for the Hecke algebra. We discover that the component with determinant −1 is somehow the “dominant” one; we characterize the difference between its spaces of modular forms and the spaces of modular forms on the other components using forms with complex multiplication. In addition, we prove Atkin–Lehner-style results about these spaces of modular forms. Finally, we show some simplifications that arise when N is prime, including a complete determination of such CM-forms, and give numerical examples. We define the notion of a (weak) almost para-CR structure on a manifold M as a distribution HMTM together with a field K ∈ Γ(End(HM)) of involutive endomorphisms of HM. If K satisfies integrability conditions, then (HM, K) is called a (weak) para-CR structure. Under some regularity conditions, an almost para-CR structure can be identified with a Tanaka structure. The notion of maximally homogeneous almost para-CR structure of a semisimple type is defined. A classification of such maximally homogeneous almost para-CR structures is given in terms of appropriate gradations of real semisimple Lie algebras. Suppose N∈{13,17,19,21,26,29,31,34,39,41,49,50}. In this paper, we extend previous results of Kohnen–Mason (On the canonical decomposition of generalized modular functions, 2010) to prove that generalized modular forms for Γ 0(N) with rational Fourier expansions whose divisors are supported only at the cusps and at the elliptic points are actually classical modular forms. We discuss possible limitations to this extension and pose questions about possible zeroes for modular forms of prime level.  相似文献

We study a canonical basis for spaces of weakly holomorphic modular forms of weights 12, 16, 18, 20, 22, and 26 on the full modular group. We prove a relation between the Fourier coefficients of modular forms in this canonical basis and a generalized Ramanujan τ-function, and use this to prove that these Fourier coefficients are often highly divisible by 2.  相似文献

 Given a convex stochastic programming problem with a discrete initial probability distribution, the problem of optimal scenario reduction is stated as follows: Determine a scenario subset of prescribed cardinality and a probability measure based on this set that is the closest to the initial distribution in terms of a natural (or canonical) probability metric. Arguments from stability analysis indicate that Fortet-Mourier type probability metrics may serve as such canonical metrics. Efficient algorithms are developed that determine optimal reduced measures approximately. Numerical experience is reported for reductions of electrical load scenario trees for power management under uncertainty. For instance, it turns out that after 50% reduction of the scenario tree the optimal reduced tree still has about 90% relative accuracy.
