Abstract

Solvent extraction of lead halides with 18-crown-6 (18C6), dicyclohexano-18-crown-6 (DC18C6, cis-syn-cis and cis-anti-cis isomers) in chloroform was studied, and the extraction constants corrected for side reactions and ionic strength effects were obtained. The compounds of the same composition as those being extracted were also isolated in crystal form. The molecular structure of the [Pb(18C6)I2] complex has been determined. Crystals are monoclinic, P21/n, a = 11.237(2), b = 10.992(2), c = 8.139(2)Å, β = 97.32(3)°, V = 997.1(7)Å3, Dcalc = 2.416(2)gcm?3, Z = 2 for the composition C12H24O6PbI2. The final R-factor is 0.043 for 558 unique reflections. The lead atom is coordinated to six oxygen atoms of the crown ether and two iodine atoms forming a hexagonal bipyramidal coordination polyhedron. The 18C6 molecule and the two halogen atoms form a hydrophobic coating for the lead atom which may be assumed to be the main reason of high extraction constants of the iodine complexes. For 10-coordinate lead ion (bidentate counter ions) the cis-syn-cis isomer of DC18C6 appears to be the best extraction reagent, while for 8-coordinate lead ion (monodentate halide anion) no difference between isomers was observed.  相似文献

The stability constant of the dibenzo-18-crown-6·H3O+ cationic complex species dissolved in nitrobenzene saturated with water has been determined from extraction experiments in the two-phase water–nitrobenzene system and from γ-activity measurements. Various structures of protonated dibenzo-18-crown-6 are discussed.  相似文献

The coextraction of water with benzo-15-crown-5 (B1SC5), benzo-18-crown-6 (B18C6) and the B18C6-K+ complex into seven low-polar solvents, i.e., carbon tetrachloride (CTC), chloroform (CF), dichloromethane (DCM), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCE), benzene (BZ), chlorobenzene (CB) and o-dichlorobenzene (o-DCB), has been investigated. The mean hydration number, nH2O, of these solutes in the water-saturated organic solvents was determined. There is a trend that the nH2O values for any solutes increase with increasing the water concentration in the solvents. Those of B18C6 and B15C5 converge at almost 0.8 for B18C6 and 0.4 - 0.5 for B15C5 in the solvents with the relatively high water concentration, i.e., CF, 1,2-DCE, DCM, and nitorobenzene (NB). The nH2O value of B15C5 is about one-half of that of B18C6 for a given organic solvent. The dominant species of the B18C6-K+ complex in these solvents is non-hydrated. From these results, the hydration equilibrium constants, KH2O, in the organic solvents were estimated.  相似文献

The complexation of protonated amino acid methylesters and amino alcohols bythe ligands 18-crown-6 (18C6) and benzo-18-crown-6 (B18C6) has been studiedin methanol using calorimetric titrations. No influence of the anions upon thestability constants and thermodynamic data for the reaction of protonated aminoacid methylesters with both ligands has been noticed, which indicates the completedissociation of the salts employed. A similar effect has been observed for thecomplexation of protonated and unprotonated amino alcohols with 18C6 andB18C6. The values obtained of the reaction enthalpies for the complexation ofprotonated amino acid methylesters with 18C6 are larger than those correspondingto the complexation with B18C6. The results demonstrate that the complex formationof unprotonated amino alcohols is favored by entropic contributions, while thecomplexation of protonated amino alcohols is favored by enthalpic contributionswith both ligands. The influence of various substituents on the complexation behaviorof amino acid and amino alcohol has also been investigated.  相似文献

A new method for the preconcentration and determination of trace amounts of lead at the μg/L level in natural waters has been established based on the formation of the thenoyltrifluoroacetone (TTA) complex with dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6) by means of synergistic extraction and back-extraction combined with atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). The effect of various factors (synergism with TTA and DB18C6, shaking time, preconcentration factor, composition of the extracted species, and foreign ions etc.) on the extraction and back-extraction of lead has been investigated in detail. The lead-TTA chelate in o-dichlorobenzene forms a stable adduct with DB18C6 as Pb(TTA)2 DB18C6. The stability constant (β) of the adduct determined by curve fitting method was log β = 4.2. The amount of lead in natural waters such as tap water (Kanazawa University) and Kakehashi river (Komatsu City) determined by the present method was found to be 0.64 ± 0.02 μg/L and 5.10 ± 0.03 μg/L, respectively.  相似文献

The extraction of La(III), Gd(III), and Lu(III) with 18-crown-6 (18C6) has been studied using pentadecafluorooctanoate (PDFO) as a counter anion. Very high extractability of La(III) was observed in various organic solvents such as benzene, chloroform, 1,2-dichloroethane, and nitrobenzene. The predominant species extracted into benzene was found to be Ln(PDFO)3 (18C6), and the extraction constants (K ex,s1 =[Ln(PDFO)3 (18C6)]org/[Ln3+][PDFO]3[18C6]org) were 1013.12 for La(III), 109.74 for Gd(III), and 109.67 for Lu(III). These values are 1010 times higher than those in the trichloroacetate-18C6 system reported previously. The present PDFO-18C6 system was superior to the picrate- and hexafluoroacetylacetonate-18C6 system for the separation efficiency of light lanthanides(III).  相似文献

The laser-induced fluorescence spectra of jet-cooled benzo-18-crown-6 (B18C6) and dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6) exhibit a number of vibronic bands in the 35 000-37 000 cm(-1) region. We attribute these bands to monomers and hydrated clusters by fluorescence-detected IR-UV and UV-UV double resonance spectroscopy. We found four and two conformers for bare B18C6 and DB18C6, and the hydration of one water molecule reduces the number of isomers to three and one for B18C6-(H(2)O)(1) and DB18C6-(H(2)O)(1), respectively. The IR-UV spectra of B18C6-(H(2)O)(1) and DB18C6-(H(2)O)(1) suggest that all isomers of the monohydrated clusters have a double proton-donor type (bidentate) hydration. That is, the water molecule is bonded to B18C6 or DB18C6 via two O-H[dot dot dot]O hydrogen bonds. The blue shift of the electronic origin of the monohydrated clusters and the quantum chemical calculation suggest that the water molecule in B18C6-(H(2)O)(1) and DB18C6-(H(2)O)(1) prefers to be bonded to the ether oxygen atoms near the benzene ring.  相似文献

In our publication (1), the extraction of uranium with dicyclohexano-18-crown-6 (mixed isomers) has been described. The extraction equilibrium of uranium(VI) from aqueous hydrochloric acid solution with dicyclohexano-18-crown-6 isomer A (Ia) and isomer B (Ib) in 1,2-dichloroethane is presented in this paper. The extracted species are found to be 1:2 (metal/crown) for Ia and 2:3 for Ib from slope analysis and direct determination of extracted complexes. The extraction equilibrium constants (Kex) have been determined at 25°C, and equal 29.5 for the former and 0.208 for the latter. It is concluded that Ia has stronger coordinate ability for uranium than Ib. The different orientation of the lone pairs of the oxygen atoms in both isomers will be taken into account for interpreting above results. The extraction of uranium(VI) with dicyclohexano-18-crown-6 (mixed isomers) or Ia from aqueous hydrochloric acid solution is effective and selective. In 0.1M crown ether-1,2-dichloroethane-6N HCl system, the separation factor U(VI)/Th(IV) exceeds 1000. The result can be taken in separating uranium and thorium.  相似文献

The complexation reaction of phenylaza-15-crown-5, and 4-nitrobenzo-15-crown-5, benzo-15-crown-5 and dibenzopyrdino-18-crwon-6, dibenzo-18-crown-6,dicyclohexyl-18-crown-6(cis and trans), and 18-crown-6 with Na+ ion in methanol have been studied by potentiometric method. The Na+ ion-selective electrode has been used both as indicator and reference electrode. The stoichiometry and stability constants of complexes of these crown ethers with sodium ion were evaluated by MINIQUAD program. The major trend of stability of resulting complexes of these macrocycle with Na+ ion varied in the order DCY18C6 > DB18C6 > 18C6 > DBPY18C6 > phenylaza-15C5 > benzo-15C5 > 4-nitrobenzo-15C5. The obtained results in particular stability constant of complexes of DBPY18C6, phenylaza-15C5 and 4-nitrobenzo-15C5 with sodium ion in comparison with other crowns ether are novel, and interesting.  相似文献

The complex formation of Ag+ with polyether 18-crown-6 (18C6) and their solvation have been studied using calorimetric and potentiometric methods in H2O-EtOH solvents in wide range of ethanol concentration. The standard enthalpies of dissolution AgNO3, AgClO4 and 18C6 in aqueous-ethanol solvents are obtained. The stability of a complex [Ag18C6]+ grows with increasing the EtOH content a solvent. Using the method based on the thermodynamic characteristics of solvation of metal-ion, ligand and complex-ion the interpretation of the results has been given. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Synergic extraction of trivalent Eu, Gd and Am from aqueous perchlorate medium has been studied using mixtures of thenoyltrifluoroacetone (HTTA) and 15-crown-5 or 18-crown-6 (CE) in chloroform at (25±1) °C. Slope analysis of the extraction results indicated a general formula of M(TTA)3·(CE)2 for the extracted species. The stability order took the sequence Eu(TTA)3·(CE)2>Am(TTA)3)·(CE)2>>Gd(TTA)3·(CE)2 with 15C5 and Am(TTA)3·(CE)2>Eu(TTA)3·(CE)2>Gd(TTA)3·(CE)2 with 18C6. The synergic factors, extracton constants and formation constants of the extracted species were determined and discussed in terms of the correspondence between cavity size of the crown ethers and ionic crystal radii.  相似文献

From extraction experiments with 22Na tracer, the exchange extraction constants corresponding to the NH4 +(aq) + NaL+ (nb)NH4L+(nb) + Na+ (aq) equilibrium taking place in the two-phase water-nitrobenzene system (L = 18-crown-6, dicyclohexyl-18-crown-6, dibenzo-18-crown-6 and dibenzo-24-crown-8; aq = aqueous phase, nb = nitrobenzene phase) were evaluated. Furthermore, the stability constants of the NH4L+ complexes in nitrobenzene saturated with water were calculated; they were found to increase in the order dibenzo-24-crown-8 (DB24C8) < dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6) < dicyclohexyl-18-crown-6 (DCH18C6) < 18-crown-6 (18C6).  相似文献
