We report the late-stage chemical modification of ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides (RIPPs) by Diels–Alder cycloadditions to naturally occurring dehydroalanines. The tail region of the thiopeptide thiostrepton could be modified selectively and efficiently under microwave heating and transition-metal-free conditions. The Diels–Alder adducts were isolated and the different site- and endo/exo isomers were identified by 1D/2D 1H NMR. Via efficient modification of the thiopeptide nosiheptide and the lanthipeptide nisin Z the generality of the method was established. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) assays of the purified thiostrepton Diels–Alder products against thiostrepton-susceptible strains displayed high activities comparable to that of native thiostrepton. These Diels–Alder products were also subjected successfully to inverse-electron-demand Diels–Alder reactions with a variety of functionalized tetrazines, demonstrating the utility of this method for labeling of RiPPs.  相似文献

Water-soluble surfactants based on rosin acids were synthesized from condensed rosin acid-formaldehyde. This was completed by esterification of series of rosin acid formaldehyde resins with poly(ethylene glycol) having different molecular weights to produce series of rosin esters. The structure of the produced resins was determined by infrared and 1HNMR analysis. The molecular weight of the produced surfactants was determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) technique. The surface properties of the prepared surfactants were determined by measuring the surface tension at different temperatures. The surface tension, critical micelle concentration (CMC), and surface activities were determined at different temperatures. Surface parameters such as surface excess concentration (Γmax), the area per molecule at interface (Amin), and the effectiveness of surface tension reduction (πCMC) were determined from the adsorption isotherms of the prepared surfactants. Some thermodynamic data for the adsorption process were calculated and are discussed. The dispersion efficiency of the prepared surfactants as petroleum oil spill dispersants was determined and correlated with the surface activity, concentrations of the prepared surfactants and type of petroleum crude oil.  相似文献

Two new benzoxazole or benzothiazole‐containing diimide‐dicarboxylic acid monomers, such as 2‐[3,5‐bis(N‐trimellitimidoyl)phenyl]benzoxazole ( 2 o ) or 2‐[3,5‐bis(N‐trimellitimidoyl)phenyl]benzothiazole ( 2 s ) were synthesized from the condensation reaction between 3,5‐diaminobenzoic acid and 2‐aminophenol or 2‐aminothiophenol in polyphosphoric acid (PPA) with subsequent reaction of trimellitic anhydride in the presence of glacial acetic acid, respectively, and two new series of modified aromatic poly(amide‐imide)s were prepared. This preparation was done with pendent benzoxazole or benzothiazole units from the newly synthesized diimide‐dicarboxylic acid and various aromatic diamines by triphenyl phosphite‐activated polycondensation. In addition, the corresponding unsubstituted poly(amide‐imide)s were prepared under identical experimental conditions for comparative purposes. Characterization of polymers was accomplished by inherent viscosity measurements, FT‐IR, UV–visible, 1H‐NMR spectroscopy and thermogravimetry. The polymers were obtained in quantitative yields with inherent viscosities between 0.39 and 0.81 dl g?1. The solubilities of modified poly(amide‐imide)s in common organic solvents as well as their thermal stability were enhanced compared to those of the corresponding unmodified poly(amide‐imide)s. The glass transition temperature, 10% weight loss temperature, and char yields at 800°C were, respectively, 7–26°C, 17–46°C and 2–5% higher than those of the unmodified polymers. Diels–Alder reactions of 5‐[methoxypoly(oxyethylene)]‐(3E)‐1,3‐pentadiene ( 1a ) with maleic anhydride, diethyl acetylenedicarboxylate (DADC), and acrolein were investigated for the synthesis of new poly(ethylene glycol) derivatives. To facilitate the characterization of the derivatives, Diels–Alder reactions of 5‐methoxyethoxy‐(3E)‐1,3‐pentadiene ( 1b ) with the aforementioned dienophiles were also studied. The reaction of o‐toluidine with the cycloaddition product from maleic anhydride and 1b resulted in the corresponding amide products. The reactions of 2,3‐dichloro‐5,6‐dicyano‐1,4‐benzoquinone with cycloadducts derived from 1a and 1b with DADC resulted in the aromatization of the corresponding products. An NMR analysis of the adducts obtained from 1a and acrolein in water and from 1b and acrolein in water/acetonitrile (4:1 v/v) indicated a mixture of endo and exo, with the endo concentration being approximately 80%. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Poly(epoxy imide)s were prepared by a reaction between a hydroxyl‐group‐containing soluble copolyimide and commercial epoxy resins at 220 °C for 2 h. Poly(epoxy imide) thin films exhibited higher thermal stability and lower dielectric constants than a commercial flip‐chip package material (U300). The thermal stabilities of the poly(epoxy imide)s were 1.4–2.0 times higher than that of U300. The thermal stability increased with increasing crosslink density and with decreasing bulky CF3 groups (which were easily decomposable). The dielectric constants of the poly(epoxy imide)s were 1.1–1.3 times lower than that of U300, and this is highly desirable for the microelectronic packaging industry. The dielectric constant dramatically decreased when bulky CF3 groups were added and when the functionalities of epoxy resins decreased. The residual stresses, slopes in the cooling curves, and glass‐transition temperatures of the poly(epoxy imide)s were measured with a thin‐film stress analyzer. Low residual stresses and slopes in the cooling curves were achieved with a higher crosslink density. However, in the presence of bulky CF3 groups, the copolyimide backbone structure did not affect the residual stress values. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Two new bio‐based diacylhydrazide monomers, namely, 4,4′‐(propane‐1,3‐diylbis(oxy))bis(3‐methoxybenzohydrazide) and 4,4′‐(propane‐1,3‐diylbis(oxy))bis(3,5‐dimethoxybenzohydrazide) were synthesized starting from lignin‐derived phenolic acids, namely, vanillic acid and syringic acid. A series of poly(amide imide)s was synthesized by polycondensation of these diacylhydrazide monomers with commercially available aromatic dianhydrides. Poly(amide imide)s showed inherent viscosity in the range 0.44–0.56 dL g?1 and exhibited good solubility in organic solvents. Poly(amide imide)s could be cast into transparent, flexible, and tough films from their N ,N‐dimethylacetamide solutions. Poly(amide imide)s showed 10% weight loss in the temperature range 340–364 °C indicating their good thermal stability. Glass transition temperature (T g) of poly(amide imides)s were measured by DSC and DMA which were in the range 201–223 °C and 214–248 °C, respectively. The T g values of poly(amide imide)s were dependent on the number methoxy substituents on aromatic rings of diacylhydrazide monomers. Diels–Alder reactions of 5‐methylthio‐2‐vinyl‐1H‐pyrroles with maleimides followed by isomerization gave tetrahydroindoles in moderate to good yield. Aromatization using activated MnO2 in refluxing toluene gave the corresponding 2‐methylthioindoles in good yields, and demethylthioation using Raney nickel gave the 2‐H indoles in excellent yields. The protection of the adducts produced aromatization in improved yield, demonstrating the effectiveness of the methylthio group as a protecting group for pyrroles; however, 5‐methylthio‐2‐vinylpyrrole was shown to perform with slightly less efficiency than 2‐vinylpyrrole in Diels–Alder reactions, indicating the protective group was more deactivating than desired. This route toward indoles offers high convergency and conveniently available starting materials that are easily purified. Bis‐methylthioated vinylpyrroles were shown to have potential as highly activated Diels–Alder dienes.  相似文献

A diimide dicarboxylic acid, 1,4‐bis(4‐trimellitimidophenoxy)naphthalene (1,4‐BTMPN), was prepared by condensation of 1,4‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)naphthalene and trimellitic anhydride at a 1 : 2 molar ratio. A series of novel poly(amide‐imide)s (IIa–k) with inherent viscosities of 0.72 to 1.59 dL/g were prepared by triphenyl phosphite‐activated polycondensation from the diimide‐diacid 1,4‐BTMPN with various aromatic diamines (Ia–k) in a medium consisting of N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone (NMP), pyridine, and calcium chloride. The poly(amide‐imide)s showed good solubility in NMP, N,N‐dimethylacetamide, and N,N‐dimethylformamide. The thermal properties of the obtained poly(amide‐imide)s were examined with differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry analysis. The synthesized poly(amide‐imide)s possessed glass‐transition temperatures in the range of 215 to 263°C. The poly(amide‐imide)s exhibited excellent thermal stabilities and had 10% weight losses at temperatures in the range of 538 to 569°C under a nitrogen atmosphere. A bioinsipred gold‐catalyzed tandem Diels–Alder/Diels–Alder reaction of an enynal and a 1,3‐diene, forming the highly‐strained benzotricyclo[3.2.1.02,7]octane skeleton, was reported. In contrast, a Diels–Alder/Friedel–Crafts tandem reaction occurred instead when silver salts were used as the catalyst. Although both reactions experienced the similar Diels–Alder reaction of a pyrylium intermediate with a 1,3‐diene, they have different reaction mechanisms. The former proceeded with a stepwise Diels–Alder reaction, while the latter one with a concerted one.  相似文献

A series of ethynylated silanes, including tetraethynylsilane, was treated with tetraphenylcyclopentadienone at 300 °C under microwave irradiation to give the aromatized Diels–Alder adducts as sterically encumbered mini‐dendrimers with up to 20 benzene rings. The sterically most congested adducts display red‐shifted emission through intramolecular π–π interactions in the excited state.  相似文献

A three‐step procedure involving Diels–Alder condensation of maleic anhydride with furane, formation of N‐substituted imide upon reaction with appropriate diamine, and a final retro Diels–Alder regeneration of the maleic carbon–carbon double bond is proposed for an unequivocal synthesis of N‐substituted basic maleimides. The novel method is characterized by mild reaction conditions, easy work‐up, high yields, and no need for additional catalysis.  相似文献

Rate constants of the Diels–Alder cycloaddition reaction of anthracene with tetracyanoethylene, enthalpy of solution of reactants and adduct, enthalpy of the reaction in solution, enthalpy and entropy of activation of the forward and retro‐Diels–Alder reactions were determined in 14 solvents. Temperature and pressure effects on the rate of the decomposition of the adduct formed from 9‐chloroanthracene and tetracyanoethylene were studied. Since the electrostriction effect can be excluded from the consideration of the isopolar Diels–Alder reaction, negative values of the activation volume in the retro‐Diels–Alder reactions can be caused by the different possibilities of penetration of the solvent molecules to large steric branched structures of the transition states and adducts. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We have quantum chemically studied alkali cation‐catalyzed aromatic Diels‐Alder reactions between benzene and acetylene forming barrelene using relativistic, dispersion‐corrected density functional theory. The alkali cation‐catalyzed aromatic Diels‐Alder reactions are accelerated by up to 5 orders of magnitude relative to the uncatalyzed reaction and the reaction barrier increases along the series Li+ < Na+ < K+ < Rb+ < Cs+ < none. Our detailed activation strain and molecular‐orbital bonding analyses reveal that the alkali cations lower the aromatic Diels‐Alder reaction barrier by reducing the Pauli repulsion between the closed‐shell filled orbitals of the dienophile and the aromatic diene. We argue that such Pauli mechanism behind Lewis‐acid catalysis is a more general phenomenon. Also, our results may be of direct importance for a more complete understanding of the network of competing mechanisms towards the formation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in an astrochemical context.  相似文献

Ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) was carried out on Diels‐Alder adducts formed from reactions between chalcones and cyclopentadiene. Most of the chalcones gave predominantly endo‐adducts and the exo‐adducts were obtained in good yields from reacting cyclopentadiene with furfurylidine acetone and N,N,diethylaminobenzylidine‐(4‐hydroxy)acetophenone. These exo‐adducts were subjected to ROMP using Grubbs catalyst, bis(tricyclohexylphosphine)benzylidinedichloride. The monomers and polymers were characterized using spectroscopic techniques like FT‐IR, 1HNMR. The polymers were characterized using TGA, DSC, and GPC. The polymers were found to possess fluorescent properties and poly[2‐(4‐diethylamino)phenyl‐3,5‐divinylcyclopentyl](4‐hydroxyphenyl) methanone was found to have good emissive property at two wavelengths. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The Diels–Alder reaction between 2,7‐cyclooctadienone and cyclopentadiene goes to completion to produce a bis adduct and mono adduct under InCl3 conditions. 2,6‐Cycloheptadienone undergoes sequential Diels–Alder reactions in the presence of AlCl3 with cyclohexadiene and cyclopentadiene to produce the bis adduct. The bis adducts were oxidatively cleaved to produce the [5.8.5] and [5.7.6] tricyclic systems.  相似文献

X‐ray structure determinations on four Diels–Alder adducts derived from the reactions of cyano‐ and ester‐substituted alkenes with anthracene and 9,10‐dimethylanthracene have shown the bonds formed in the adduction to be particularly long. Their lengths range from 1.58 to 1.62 Å, some of the longest known for Diels–Alder adducts. Formation of the four adducts is detectably reversible at ambient temperature and is associated with free energies of reaction ranging from ?2.5 to ?40.6 kJ mol?1. The solution equilibria have been experimentally characterised by NMR spectroscopy. Density‐functional‐theory calculations at the MPW1K/6‐31+G(d,p) level with PCM solvation agree with experiment with average errors of 6 kJ mol?1 in free energies of reaction and structural agreement in adduct bond lengths of 0.013 Å. To understand more fully the cause of the reversibility and its relationship to the long adduct bond lengths, natural‐bond‐orbital (NBO) analysis was applied to quantify donor–acceptor interactions within the molecules. Both electron donation into the σ*‐anti‐bonding orbital of the adduct bond and electron withdrawal from the σ‐bonding orbital are found to be responsible for this bond elongation.  相似文献

A novel method was developed to prepare poly(benzoxazinone‐imide) by the dealcoholization of poly(amide‐imide), having pendent ethoxycarbonyl groups, which was prepared from poly(amide acid). The poly(amide acid) was prepared from the reaction of pyromellitic dianhydride and 4,4′‐diamino‐6‐ethoxycarbonyl benzanilide. The curing behavior of the poly(amide acid) was monitored by DSC, which indicated the presence of two broad endotherms, one with maximum at 153 °C due to imide‐ring formation and the other with maximum at 359 °C due to benzoxazinone‐ring formation. The poly(amide acid) was thermally treated at 300 °C/1 h to get poly(amide‐imide) with pendent ester groups, then at 350 °C/2 h to convert into poly(benzoxazinone‐imide) by dealcoholization. Viscoelastic measurements of the poly(amide‐imide) showed that the storage modulus dropped at about 280 °C with glass‐transition temperature (Tg ) at about 340 °C. The storage modulus of poly(benzoxazinone‐imide), however, was almost constant up to 400 °C and no Tg was detected below 400 °C. Also, the tensile modulus and tensile strength of the poly(benzoxazinone‐imide) was much higher than that of the poly(amide‐imide). The 5% decomposition of poly(benzoxazinone‐imide) film was at 535 °C, which reflects its excellent thermal stability. An efficient and short entry to polyfunctionalized linear triquinanes from 2‐methoxyphenols is described by utilizing the following chemistry. The Diels–Alder reactions of masked o‐benzoquinones, derived from 2‐methoxyphenols, with cyclopentadiene afford tricyclo[5.2.2.02,6]undeca‐4,10‐dien‐8‐ones. Photochemical oxa‐di‐π‐methane (ODPM) rearrangements and 1,3‐acyl shifts of the Diels–Alder adducts are investigated. The ODPM‐rearranged products are further converted to linear triquinanes by using an O‐stannyl ketyl fragmentation. Application of this efficient strategy to the total synthesis of (±)‐Δ9(12)‐capnellene was accomplished from 2‐methoxy‐4‐methylphenol in nine steps with 20 % overall yield.  相似文献

A series of nonplanar tetraphenylethene (TPE)–hexaphenylbenzene (HPB) adducts was designed and synthesized by Diels–Alder reaction of the acetylene precursors and tetraphenylcyclopentadienone. All of the adducts showed aggregation‐induced emission features. The twisting amplitude and steric hindrance of the TPE and HPB units were found to play a crucial role in their fluorescence behaviors in the aggregated state.  相似文献
