Let {T p:q 1 p q 2} be a family of consistent C 0 semigroups on L p(), with q 1,q 2 [1,) and open. We show that certain commutator conditions on T p and on the resolvent of its generator A p ensure the p independence of the spectrum of A p for p [q 1,q 2.Applications include the case of Petrovskij correct systems with Hölder continuous coefficients, Schrödinger operators, and certain elliptic operators in divergence form with real, but not necessarily symmetric, or complex coefficients.  相似文献

Summary We prove existence and optimal decay properties of a Green's matrix for elliptic systems of second order. The results follow from regularity theorems in weak Lebesgue spaces which can be obtained from the classicalL p theory using interpolation theorems. Semiregular relative difference sets (RDS) in a finite group E which avoid a central subgroup C are equivalent to orthogonal cocycles. For example, every abelian semiregular RDS must arise from a symmetric orthogonal cocycle, and vice versa. Here, we introduce a new construction for central (p a , p a , p a , 1)-RDS which derives from a novel type of orthogonal cocycle, an LP cocycle, defined in terms of a linearised permutation (LP) polynomial and multiplication in a finite presemifield. The construction yields many new non-abelian (p a , p a , p a , 1)-RDS. We show that the subset of the LP cocycles defined by the identity LP polynomial and multiplication in a commutative semifield determines the known abelian (p a , p a , p a , 1)-RDS, and give a second new construction using presemifields.We use this cohomological approach to identify equivalence classes of central (p a , p a , p a , 1)-RDS with elementary abelian C and E/C. We show that for p = 2, a 3 and p = 3, a 2, every central (p a , p a , p a , 1)-RDS is equivalent to one arising from an LP cocycle, and list them all by equivalence class. For p = 2, a = 4, we list the 32 distinct equivalence classes which arise from field multiplication. We prove that, for any p, there are at least a equivalence classes of central (p a , p a , p a , 1)-RDS, of which one is abelian and a – 1 are non-abelian.  相似文献

Associated with the L p -curvature image defined by Lutwak, some inequalities for extended mixed p-affine surface areas of convex bodies and the support functions of L p -projection bodies are established. As a natural extension of a result due to Lutwak, an L p -type affine isoperimetric inequality, whose special cases are L p -Busemann-Petty centroid inequality and L p -affine projection inequality, respectively, is established. Some L p -mixed volume inequalities involving L p -projection bodies are also established.  相似文献

In a linear control system over a fixed time interval, we treat steering to the origin by controls (i) having realistic constraints on their values, while minimizing theL 1-cost of control, (ii) without such constraints, and (iii) minimizing the coordinate bound, with or without a givenL 1-cost restriction. Existence (also, nonexistence) results are obtained, together with further necessary conditions for control optimality.The author was introduced to these problems by Professors P. Hagedorn and W. Krabs and profited much by discussions with them and with other workers at the TH Darmstadt. The incisive idea that feedback controls still exist if state space is augmented by one dimension (see Example, Section 1) is due to Professor Hagedorn and obviously merits further treatment. Professor E. N. Chukwu pointed out an error in a preprint version of this paper, and the present formulation of Theorem 4.6 is the result of discussions with him. In a colloquium at Würzburg University, Professor P. C. Parks made the point that a portion ofmodern control theory is implicit in the work of Achiezer: in connection with the present material, the so-called M-moment problem, and our Theorem 4.6. The referee kindly pointed out the reference for the example in Section 1. We derive W 2,p (Ω)-a priori estimates with arbitrary p ∈(1, ∞), for the solutions of a degenerate oblique derivative problem for linear uniformly elliptic operators with low regular coefficients. The paper proves a new result similar to the well known theorems of G. Szego and A. Kolmogorov on the best approximation by analytic polynomials in weighted L p spaces. Such results are essential in prediction theory for stationary processes. It is well known, that for one step prediction, the size of the best approximation is the same for all p. Under some conditions we prove that the convergence of a sequence of functions in the space of P-adic generalized functions is equivalent to its convergence in the space of locally integrable functions. In this paper we present some results on the global existence of weak solutions to a nonlinear variational wave equation and some related problems. We first introduce the main tools, the L p Young measure theory and related compactness results, in the first section. Then we use the L p Young measure theory to prove the global existence of dissipative weak solutions to the asymptotic equation of the nonlinear wave equation, and comment on its relation to Camassa-Holm equations in the second section. In the third section, we prove the global existence of weak solutions to the original nonlinear wave equation under some restrictions on the wave speed. In the last section, we present global existence of renormalized solutions to two-dimensional model equations of the asymptotic equation, which is also the so-called vortex density equation arising from sup-conductivity.  相似文献

The goal of this paper is to compute the shape Hessian for a generalized Oseen problem with nonhomogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition by the velocity method. The incompressibility will be treated by penalty approach. The structure of the shape gradient and shape Hessian with respect to the shape of the variable domain for a given cost functional are established by an application of the Lagrangian method with function space embedding technique. We prove firstly the classification theorem for p-harmonic morphisms between Euclidean domains. Secondly, we show that if is a p-harmonic morphism (p ≥ 2) from a complete Riemannian manifold M of nonnegative Ricci curvature into a Riemannian manifold N of non-positive scalar curvature such that the L q -energy is finite, then is constant, which improve the corresponding result due to G.
