The 313-220 rotational transition of water vapor at 183 GHz was studied using modern resonator spectroscopy methods at atmospheric pressures in the broad frequency range 130-205 GHz down to far wings. The experimental method of sample substitution for the exclusion of the apparatus function was used. The air broadening parameter value was defined as 3.84±0.04 MHz/Torr at 298 K. The observed atmosphere water vapor line center was found to be shifted down at about 53 MHz from the line center at low pressures, which gives a value of −0.07±0.02 MHz/Torr for the air pressure shift parameter. Measurements of broadening and shifting of the water line in pure nitrogen and oxygen atmosphere were also performed. Calculated then parameters of air broadening and shifting agree with directly measured ones within the errors quoted. Measurement of the integral intensity of the line was done. The directly measured integral line intensity coincides with a value given in GEISA and HITRAN databases within experimental error. The results are compared with previous experimental laboratory and satellite data.  相似文献

This paper proposes an integrated roughness measurement system that is based on adaptive optics (AO) and binary analysis of speckle pattern images. The aim of this study was to demonstrate the necessity for AO compensation in regions containing both heat and fluid flow turbulences. A speckle image was obtained by projecting a laser beam onto the specimen surface, and the laser pattern image reflected from the surface was binarized to experimentally correlate the intensity with the surface roughness. In the absence of the AO correction scheme, induced turbulences can severely increase the residual rms error from 0.14 to 1.4 μm. After a real-time closed-loop AO correction, we can reduce the wavefront root mean square (rms) error to 0.12 μm, which not only compensates for the aberration error from induced disturbances but also improves the overall performance of the optical system. In addition, an AO system having different gains was investigated, and a threshold gain value was found to be able to steadily compensate for the wavefront errors in less than 2 s. Measurement results of five steel samples having roughness ranging from 0.2 to 3.125 μm (0.3λ and 5λ, where λ is the diode laser wavelength) demonstrate an excellent correlation between the intensity distribution of binary images and average roughness with a correlation coefficient of 0.9982. Furthermore, the proposed AO-assisted system is in good agreement with the stylus method and less than 9.73% error values can be consistently obtained.  相似文献

3D ultrasound is a promising imaging modality for clinical diagnosis and treatment monitoring. Its cost is relatively low in comparison with CT and MRI, no intensive training and radiation protection is required for its operation, and its hardware is movable and can potentially be portable. In this study, we developed a portable freehand 3D ultrasound imaging system for the assessment of musculoskeletal body parts. A portable ultrasound scanner was used to obtain real-time B-mode ultrasound images of musculoskeletal tissues and an electromagnetic spatial sensor was fixed on the ultrasound probe to acquire the position and orientation of the images. The images were digitized with a video digitization device and displayed with its orientation and position synchronized in real-time with the data obtained by the spatial sensor. A program was developed for volume reconstruction, visualization, segmentation and measurement using Visual C++ and Visualization toolkits (VTK) software. A 2D Gaussian filter and a Median filter were implemented to improve the quality of the B-scan images collected by the portable ultrasound scanner. An improved distance-weighted grid-mapping algorithm was proposed for volume reconstruction. Temporal calibrations were conducted to correct the delay between the collections of images and spatial data. Spatial calibrations were performed using a cross-wire phantom. The system accuracy was validated by one cylinder and two cuboid phantoms made of silicone. The average errors for distance measurement in three orthogonal directions in comparison with micrometer measurement were 0.06 ± 0.39, −0.27 ± 0.27, and 0.33 ± 0.39 mm, respectively. The average error for volume measurement was −0.18% ± 5.44% for the three phantoms. The system has been successfully used to obtain the volume images of a fetus phantom, the fingers and forearms of human subjects. For a typical volume with 126 × 103 × 109 voxels, the 3D image could be reconstructed from 258 B-scans (640 × 480 pixels) within one minute using a portable PC with Pentium IV 2.4 GHz CPU and 512 MB memories. It is believed that such a portable volume imaging system will have many applications in the assessment of musculoskeletal tissues because of its easy accessibility.  相似文献

A comparison between roughness data obtained with an atomic force microscope (AFM) on different surfaces requires reliable roughness parameters. In order to specify the appropriate parameters for nanoscale roughness measurements, we compared the root mean square (rms) roughness and the relative surface area (sdr) as function of varying scan size, speed and pixel size. By using oxygen plasma (24 kJ) treated SU-8 with an average rms roughness of 2.6 ± 0.5 nm as reference surface, the repeatability of the method was evaluated for dynamic (tapping) and contact mode. The evaluation of AFM images indicated a decrease of the effective tip radius after a few measurements. This degradation of the tip lowers the resolution of the image and can affect roughness measurements.  相似文献

Ultrasound Nakagami parametric imaging is a useful tool for tissue characterization. Previous literature has suggested using a square with side lengths corresponding to 3 times the transducer pulse length as the minimum window for constructing the Nakagami image. This criterion does not produce sufficiently smooth images for the Nakagami image to characterize homogeneous tissues. To improve image smoothness, we proposed window-modulated compounding (WMC) Nakagami imaging based on summing and averaging the Nakagami images formed using sliding windows with varying window side lengths from 1 to N times the transducer pulse length in 1 pulse length step. Simulations (the number densities of scatterers: 2–16 scatterers/mm2) and experiments on fully developed speckle phantoms (the scatterer diameters: 20–106 μm) were conducted to suggest an appropriate number of frames N and to evaluate the image smoothness and resolution by analyzing the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the parameter distribution and the widths of the image autocorrelation function (ACF), respectively. In vivo ultrasound measurements on rat livers without and with cirrhosis were performed to validate the practical performance of the WMC Nakagami image in tissue characterization. The simulation results showed that using a range of N from 7 to 10 as the number of frames for image compounding reduces the estimation error to less than 5%. Based on this criterion, the Nakagami parameter obtained from the WMC Nakagami image increased from 0.45 to 0.95 after increasing the number densities of scatterers from 2 to 16 scatterers/mm2. The FWHM of the parameter distribution (bins = 40) was 13.5 ± 1.4 for the Nakagami image and 9.1 ± 1.43 for the WMC Nakagami image, respectively (p-value < .05). The widths of the ACF for the Nakagami and WMC Nakagami images were 454 ± 5.36 and 458 ± 4.33, respectively (p-value > .05). In the phantom experiments, we also found that the FWHM of the parameter distribution for the WMC Nakagami image was smaller than that of the conventional Nakagami image (p-value < .05), and there was no significant difference of the ACF width between the Nakagami and WMC Nakagami images (p-value > .05). In the animal experiments, the Nakagami parameters obtained from the WMC Nakagami image for normal and cirrhotic rat livers were 0.62 ± 0.08 and 0.92 ± 0.07, respectively (p-value < .05). The results demonstrated that the WMC technique significantly improved the image smoothness of Nakagami imaging without resolution degradation, giving Nakagami model-based imaging the ability to visualize scatterer properties with enhanced image quality.  相似文献

We report the results of a computer simulation of the critical relaxation of the magnetization in the two-dimensional Ising model with nonmagnetic impurity atoms frozen at the lattice sites. We assume a square lattice of dimension 4002 with spin concentrationsp=1.0, 0.95, 0.9, 0.85, 0.8, 0.75, 0.7. This paper introduces a novel method for designing the transducer of a highly directional ultrasonic range sensor for detecting obstacles in mobile robot applications. The transducer consists of wave generation, amplification, and radiation sections, and a countermass. The operating principle of this design is based on the parametric array method where the frequency difference between two ultrasonic waves is used to generate a highly directional low-frequency wave with a small aperture. The aim of this study was to design an optimal transducer to generate the two simultaneous longitudinal modes efficiently. We first derived an appropriate mathematical model by combining the continuum model of a bar and countermass with the compatibility condition between a piezoelectric actuator and a linear horn. Then we determined the optimal length of the aluminum horn and the piezoelectric actuator using a finite element method. The proposed sensor exhibited a half-power bandwidth of less than ±1.3° at 44.8 kHz, a much higher directivity than existing conventional ultrasonic range sensors.  相似文献

Nowadays, ultrasonic bone assessment is increasingly being used to assess bone status. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to enhance the precision of ultrasonic bone assessment by reducing the influence of temperature in a dry, gel coupled transducer system. A warm airflow generator was designed to make the measurement temperature constant (35 ± 1 °C). Thirty people were recruited for the evaluation of in-vivo performance. The short-term precision was performed 10 times with repositioning during a consecutive measurement session within 20 min. It was expressed as root-mean square average of coefficient of variation, which is abbreviated for CVRMS. The CVRMS was 3.84% for broadband ultrasound attenuation, and 0.30% for speed of sound. The Pearson correlations between gel coupled transducer system and dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) were 0.808 (p < 0.001) for broadband ultrasound attenuation, and 0.586 (p < 0.005) for speed of sound. The result showed the high performance of reproducibility and the significant (p < 0.005) correlations with DEXA in the dry, gel coupled transducer system.  相似文献

Cd/p-Si Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs) with and without the native oxide layer have been fabricated to determine the importance of the fact that the series resistance value is considered in calculating the interface state density distribution (ISDD) from the forward bias current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of the Cd/p-Si SBDs. The statistical analysis yielded mean values of 0.71 ± 0.02 eV and 1.24 ± 0.12 for the BH and ideality factor of the Cd/p-Si SBDs (15 dots) without the native oxide layer (MS), respectively, and mean values of 0.79 ± 0.02 eV and 1.36 ± 0.06 eV for the Cd/p-Si SBDs (28 dots) with the native oxide layer (metal-insulating layer-semiconductor (MIS)). The interface state density (Nss) distributions of the devices were calculated taking into account their series resistance values. At the same energy position near the top of the valence band, the interface state density values without taking into account the series resistance value of the devices are almost one order of magnitude larger than Nss obtained taking into account series resistance value.  相似文献

In an ultrasound image-guided High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) surgery, reflected HIFU waves received by an imaging transducer should be suppressed for real-time simultaneous imaging and therapy. In this paper, we investigate the feasibility of pulse compression scheme combined with notch filtering in order to minimize these HIFU interference signals. A chirp signal modulated by the Dolph-Chebyshev window with 3-9 MHz frequency sweep range is used for B-mode imaging and 4 MHz continuous wave is used for HIFU. The second order infinite impulse response notch filters are employed to suppress reflected HIFU waves whose center frequencies are 4 MHz and 8 MHz. The prototype integrated HIFU/imaging transducer that composed of three rectangular elements with a spherically con-focused aperture was fabricated. The center element has the ability to transmit and receive 6 MHz imaging signals and two outer elements are only used for transmitting 4 MHz continuous HIFU wave. When the chirp signal and 4 MHz HIFU wave are simultaneously transmitted to the target, the reflected chirp signals mixed with 4 MHz and 8 MHz HIFU waves are detected by the imaging transducer. After the application of notch filtering with pulse compression process, HIFU interference waves in this mixed signal are significantly reduced while maintaining original imaging signal. In the single scanline test using a strong reflector, the amplitude of the reflected HIFU wave is reduced to −45 dB. In vitro test, with a sliced porcine muscle shows that the speckle pattern of the restored B-mode image is close to that of the original image. These preliminary results demonstrate the potential for the pulse compression scheme with notch filtering to achieve real-time ultrasound image-guided HIFU surgery.  相似文献

Clinical trials have demonstrated that hyperthermia improves cancer treatments. Previous studies developed ultrasound temperature imaging methods, based on the changes in backscattered energy (CBE), to monitor temperature variations during hyperthermia. Echo shift, induced by increasing temperature, contaminates the CBE image, and its tracking and compensation should normally ensure that estimations of CBE at each pixel are correct. To obtain a simplified algorithm that would allow real-time computation of CBE images, this study evaluated the usefulness of CBE imaging without echo shift compensation in detecting distributions in temperature. Experiments on phantoms, using different scatterer concentrations, and porcine livers were conducted to acquire raw backscattered data at temperatures ranging from 37 °C to 45 °C. Tissue samples of pork tenderloin were ablated in vitro by microwave irradiation to evaluate the feasibility of using the CBE image without compensation to monitor tissue ablation. CBE image construction was based on a ratio map obtained from the envelope image divided by the reference envelope image at 37 °C. The experimental results demonstrated that the CBE image obtained without echo shift compensation has the ability to estimate temperature variations induced during uniform heating or tissue ablation. The magnitude of the CBE as a function of temperature obtained without compensation is stronger than that with compensation, implying that the CBE image without compensation has a better sensitivity to detect temperature. These findings suggest that echo shift tracking and compensation may be unnecessary in practice, thus simplifying the algorithm required to implement real-time CBE imaging.  相似文献

Purpose

To assess the feasibility and to optimize imaging parameters of diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) in human kidneys.

Methods

The kidneys of ten healthy volunteers were examined on a clinical 3 T MR scanner. For DKI, respiratory triggered EPI sequences were acquired in the coronal plane (3 b-values: 0, 300, 600 s/mm2, 30 diffusion directions). A goodness of fit analysis was performed and the influence of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) on the DKI results was evaluated. Region-of-interest (ROI) measurements were performed to determine apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), fractional anisotropy (FA) and mean kurtosis (MK) of the cortex and the medulla of the kidneys. Intra-observer and inter-observer reproducibility using Bland-Altman plots as well as subjective image quality of DKI were examined and ADC, FA, and MK parameters were compared.

Results

The DKI model fitted better to the experimental data (r = 0.99) with p < 0.05 than the common mono-exponential ADC model (r = 0.96).Calculation of reliable kurtosis parameters in human kidneys requires a minimum SNR of 8.31 on b = 0 s/mm2 images.Corticomedullary differentiation was possible on FA and MK maps. ADC, FA and MK revealed significant differences in medulla (ADC = 2.82 × 10− 3 mm2/s ± 0.25, FA = 0.42 ± 0. 05, MK = 0.78 ± 0.07) and cortex (ADC = 3.60 × 10− 3 mm2/s ± 0.28, FA = 0.18 ± 0.04, MK = 0.94 ± 0.07) with p < 0.001.

Conclusion

Our initial results indicate the feasibility of DKI in the human kidney presuming an adequate SNR. Future studies in patients with kidney diseases are required to determine the value of DKI for functional kidney imaging.  相似文献

The objective of this study is to explore the feasibility of using ultrasound to detect mastoid effusion (ME). In the past, ultrasound has been used to measure middle ear effusion (MEE) by injecting water into the external ear canal to measure echoes from the tympanic membrane, which is uncomfortable for the patient. It has been shown that air cells in the mastoid of patients with MEE are filled with fluid, which implies that ME could be a useful indicator of MEE. This study suggests using ultrasound to detect ME as a potentially noninvasive approach for MEE detection. In vitro experiments were performed on ten cadaver samples of the human ear. A single-element 1 MHz transducer was used to measure the mastoid of each cadaver before and after injecting water into the mastoid. The experimental results showed that the relative amplitudes of ultrasonic signals differed significantly between before (0.24 ± 0.09, mean ± standard deviation) and after (0.15 ± 0.03) the water injection (p < 0.05, t-test), demonstrating that the ultrasonic reflection can be used to detect ME. The location of the human mastoid under the skin behind the ear allows external measurements, and hence ultrasound-based ME detection may be an alternative, noninvasive diagnostic approach to detecting MEE in the future, providing an examination that avoids discomfort.  相似文献

Two silver samples, coarse grained (c-Ag, grain size 300±30 nm) and nanocrystalline (n-Ag, grain size 55±6 nm), are compressed in a diamond anvil cell in separate experiments. The pressure is increased in steps of ∼3 GPa and the diffraction pattern recorded at each pressure. The grain size and compressive strength are determined from the analysis of the diffraction line-widths. The grain size of c-Ag decreases rapidly from 300±30 nm at ambient pressure to 40±8 nm at 15 GPa, and then gradually to 20±3 nm at 40 GPa. After pressure release to ambient condition, the grain size is 25±4 nm. The strength at ambient pressure is 0.18±0.05 GPa and increases to 1.0±0.3 GPa at 40 GPa. The grain size of n-Ag decreases from 55±6 nm at ambient pressure to 17±4 nm at 15 GPa and to 14±3 nm at 55 GPa. After release of pressure to ambient condition, the grain size is 50±7 nm. The strength increases from 0.51±0.07 GPa at ambient pressure to 3.5±0.4 GPa at 55 GPa. The strength is found to vary as the inverse of the square-root of the grain size. The results of the present measurements agree well with the grain-size dependence of strength derived from the hardness versus grain size data at ambient pressure available in the literature.  相似文献

Purpose

To investigate an effective time-resolved variable-density random undersampling scheme combined with an efficient parallel image reconstruction method for highly accelerated aortic 4D flow MR imaging with high reconstruction accuracy.

Materials and Methods

Variable-density Poisson-disk sampling (vPDS) was applied in both the phase-slice encoding plane and the temporal domain to accelerate the time-resolved 3D Cartesian acquisition of flow imaging. In order to generate an improved initial solution for the iterative self-consistent parallel imaging method (SPIRiT), a sample-selective view sharing reconstruction for time-resolved random undersampling (STIRRUP) was introduced. The performance of different undersampling and image reconstruction schemes were evaluated by retrospectively applying those to fully sampled data sets obtained from three healthy subjects and a flow phantom.

Results

Undersampling pattern based on the combination of time-resolved vPDS, the temporal sharing scheme STIRRUP, and parallel imaging SPIRiT, were able to achieve 6-fold accelerated 4D flow MRI with high accuracy using a small number of coils (N = 5). The normalized root mean square error between aorta flow waveforms obtained with the acceleration method and the fully sampled data in three healthy subjects was 0.04 ± 0.02, and the difference in peak-systolic mean velocity was − 0.29 ± 2.56 cm/s.

Conclusion

Qualitative and quantitative evaluation of our preliminary results demonstrate that time-resolved variable-density random sampling is efficient for highly accelerating 4D flow imaging while maintaining image reconstruction accuracy.  相似文献

A prototype split-disk amplifier consisted of four Nd:YAG ceramics and single crystals was demonstrated with a 3.7 cm square clear aperture. A single-pass small-signal gain of 2.0 and a total stored energy of 11.1 J in the eight YAG disks were obtained. The maximum output energy of 10.4 J with the YAG disk amplifier was achieved in a single-shot operation. A near-field pattern of 31 mm × 31 mm square with super Gaussian shape was measured.  相似文献

Real-time distance measurement of a moving object with high accuracy and high resolution using an ultrasonic wave is difficult due to the influence of the Doppler effect or the limit of the calculation cost of signal processing. An over-sampling signal processing method using a pair of LPM signals has been proposed for ultrasonic distance and velocity measurement of moving objects with high accuracy and high resolution. The proposed method consists of cross correlation by single-bit signal processing, high-resolution Doppler velocity estimation with wide measurement range and low-calculation-cost Doppler-shift compensation. The over-sampling cross-correlation function is obtained from cross correlation by single-bit signal processing with low calculation cost. The Doppler velocity and distance of the object are determined from the peak interval and peak form in the cross-correlation function by the proposed method of Doppler velocity estimation and Doppler-shift compensation. In this paper, the proposed method of Doppler-shift compensation is improved. Accuracy of the determined distance was improved from approximately within ±140 μm in the previous method to approximately within ±10 μm in computer simulations. Then, the proposed method of Doppler velocity estimation is evaluated. In computer simulations, accuracy of the determined Doppler velocity and distance were demonstrated within ±8.471 mm/s and ±13.87 μm. In experiments, Doppler velocities of the motorized stage could be determined within ±27.9 mm/s.  相似文献

This paper presents an alternative method for calculating I(E)-spectra for a high index crystal surface using the SATLEED (symmetrized automated tensor-LEED) program. Two test structures, Cu{2 1 1} and Cu{2 1 1}-c(2 × 2)-Cs, have been analyzed. The SATLEED results are compared with results from earlier published CHANGE analyses for the same systems. Relaxations for the first three interlayer spacings of Cu{2 1 1} are −0.09 ± 0.01, −0.05 ± 0.02 and +0.05 ± 0.02 Å, respectively. The corresponding values for the Cs adsorption system are −0.09 ± 0.01, −0.04 ± 0.01 and +0.06 ± 0.01 Å. The adsorption site and effective radius of Cs determined by SATLEED are slightly different from the earlier CHANGE study. Computational and theoretical issues related to the use of these two programs are also discussed.  相似文献

The band offset at the interface of PbTe/Ge (1 0 0) heterojunction was studied by the synchrotron radiation photoelectron spectroscopy. A valence band offset of ΔEV = 0.07 ± 0.05 eV, and a conduction band offset of ΔEC = 0.27 ± 0.05 eV are concluded. The experimental determination of the band offset for the PbTe/Ge interface should be beneficial for the heterojunction to be applied in new optoelectronic and electronic devices.  相似文献

Two-colour polarisation labelling experiments measuring the D-X system of NaK have furnished observations of the D 1Π state of NaK up to v″ = 42. The last observed level is located 7 cm−1 below the Na(3p 2P3/2) + K(4s) atomic asymptote, 22247.15 cm−1 above the minimum of the electronic ground state, clearly indicating the dissociation products of this state. The vibrational progressions all exhibit irregular intervals, predominantly because of strong interactions with the nearby d 3Π state, which also dissociates to Na(3p) + K(4s) atoms. The polarisation data have been combined with some resolved fluorescence D-X transitions, and analysed by fitting to spectroscopic parameters and to an analytical potential curve. A full deperturbation treatment has not been attempted, but a ‘robust’ weighting scheme has been used to reduce the influence of levels that cannot be properly represented by a single channel model. Parameters determined in a fit to a potential curve include Te = 20090.18 ± 0.02 cm−1, well depth 2157.0 ± 0.3 cm−1, Re = 4.1547 ± 0.0002 Å, with an unweighted root mean square error of 0.12 cm−1 for 959 data.  相似文献
