L. P. Belluce, A. Di Nola and B. Gerla established a connection between MV-algebras and (dually) lattice ordered semirings by means of so-called coupled semirings. A similar connection was found for basic algebras and semilattice ordered right near semirings by the authors. The aim of this paper is to derive an analogous connection for orthomodular lattices and certain semilattice ordered near semirings via so-called coupled right orthosemirings.  相似文献

Commutative multiplicatively idempotent semirings were studied by the authors and F. ?vr?ek, where the connections to distributive lattices and unitary Boolean rings were established. The variety of these semirings has nice algebraic properties and hence there arose the question to describe this variety, possibly by its subdirectly irreducible members. For the subvariety of so-called Boolean semirings, the subdirectly irreducible members were described by F. Guzmán. He showed that there were just two subdirectly irreducible members, which are the 2-element distributive lattice and the 2-element Boolean ring. We are going to show that although commutative multiplicatively idempotent semirings are at first glance a slight modification of Boolean semirings, for each cardinal n > 1, there exist at least two subdirectly irreducible members of cardinality n and at least 2n such members if n is infinite. For \({n \in \{2, 3, 4\}}\) the number of subdirectly irreducible members of cardinality n is exactly 2.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the properties of prime ideals in semirings of continuous functions with values in the unit interval [0, 1] on topological spaces. We describe maximal and pure ideals of such semirings. We study homomorphisms of semirings of continuous [0, 1]-valued functions. In terms of semirings of functions we characterize some properties of compacta. We show that the theory of ideals in these semirings differs from the case of rings of continuous functions.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider reduced semirings with supplementary conditions of annihilators, namely these are Rickart and weakly Rickart semirings. The main aim of the paper is to study functional representations of semirings. Kuich showed that a locally closed commutative semiring is an iteration semiring (is also a Conway semiring). By study of polynomial semirings and matrix semirings, we obtain new expressions of certain polynomials and show that all matrix semirings over a locally closed semiring are also locally closed, and so a locally closed semiring (which need not be commutative) is an iteration semiring.  相似文献

In this paper, we define finitely additive, probability and modular functions over semiring-like structures. We investigate finitely additive functions with the help of complemented elements of a semiring. We also generalize some classical results in probability theory such as the law of total probability, Bayes’ theorem, the equality of parallel systems, and Poincaré’s inclusion-exclusion theorem. While we prove that modular functions over a couple of known semirings are almost constant, we show it is possible to define many different modular functions over some semirings such as bottleneck algebras and the semiring (Id(D),+,?), where D is a Dedekind domain.  相似文献

This paper concerns two notions of column rank of matrices over semirings; column rank and maximal column rank. These two notions are the same over fields but differ for matrices over certain semirings. We determine how much the maximal column rank is different from the column ran for all m×n matrices over many semirings. In this paper we consider O-simple semirings S, where O denotes the multiplicative zero of S, which may be in particular the additive neutral o of S at the same time. In this context we give some statements on matrix semirings and introduce contracted semigroup semirings in §3, a matter of interest of its own. We further use our results to compare the usual concept of division semirings with a new one introduced in [18], and we show that a corresponding theorem in [18] is in general only valid for division semirings in the usual meaning. In this article, the e-invertible matrices over commutative semirings are studied. Some properties and equivalent characterizations of the e-invertible matrices are given. Also, the interrelationships between invertible matrices and e-invertible matrices over commutative semirings are discussed. In this paper, we introduce Green's .-relations on semirings and define [left, right] adequate semirings to explore additively non-regular semirings. We characterize the semirings which are strong b-lattices of [left, right] skew-halfrings. Also, as further generalization, the semirings are described which are subdirect products of an additively commutative idempotent semiring and a [left, right] skew-halfring. We extend results of constructions of generalized Clifford semirings (given by M. K. Sen, S. K. MaRy, K. P. Shum, 2005) and the semirings which are subdirect products of a distributive lattice and a ring (given by S. Ghosh, 1999) to additively non-regular semirings.  相似文献

In this paper we give characterisations of FP-injective semirings (previously termed “exact” semirings in work of the first author). We provide a basic connection between FP-injective semirings and P-injective semirings, and establish that FP-injectivity of semirings is a Morita invariant property. We show that the analogue of the Faith-Menal conjecture (relating FP-injectivity and self-injectivity for rings satisfying certain chain conditions) does not hold for semirings. We prove that the semigroup ring of a locally finite inverse monoid over an FP-injective ring is FP-injective and give a criterion for the Leavitt path algebra of a finite graph to be FP-injective.  相似文献
