By using the generalized Riccati transformation and the inequality technique, we establish a few new oscillation criterions for certain second-order half-linear delay dynamic equations with damping on a time scale. Our results extend and improve some known results, but also unify the oscillation of the second-order half-linear delay differential equation with damping and the second-order half-linear delay difference equation with damping.  相似文献

The article is concerned with oscillation of nonautonomous neutral dynamic delay equations on time scales. Sufficient conditions are established for the existence of bounded positive solutions and for oscillation of all solutions of this equation. Some results extend known results for difference equations when the time scale is the set Z of positive integers and for differential equations when the time scale is the set R of real numbers.  相似文献

A new type of linear observer based projective, projective anticipating and projective lag synchronization of time-delayed Rössler system is studied. Along with this, the approach arbitrarily scales a drive system attractor and hence a similar chaotic attractor of any desired scale can be realized with the help of a synchronizing scaling factor. A scalar synchronizing output is considered where the output equation includes both the delay and non-delay terms of the nonlinear function. The condition for synchronization is derived analytically and the values of the coupling parameters are obtained. Analytical results are verified through numerical investigation and the effect of modulated time delay in the method is discussed. An important aspect of this method is that it does not require the computation of conditional Lyapunov exponents for the verification of synchronization.  相似文献

Washout filter is a simple filter that can be designed easily. In this paper, a system for controlling a neural equation with discrete time delay based on Washout filter is presented. The transcendental equation of the corresponding linearized system is analyzed. In this control system, it is found that Hopf bifurcation occurs when the control parameters are chosen properly and that a chaotic orbit can be controlled to a stable periodic solution. The stability condition for bifurcating periodic solutions and the direction of Hopf bifurcation are studied by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Some numerical results are also presented to illustrate the correctness of our results.  相似文献

We present analytical and computational results concerning the linear stability and instability of the uniform steady-state solution of a system of reaction-diffusion equations where a parameter in the kinetic terms is periodic in time. Under suitable assumptions the system is equivalent to a scalar equation with a periodically varying delay. Such a varying delay can model the seasonal fluctuations to the regeneration time of a resource. We study the effect such a varying delay can have on the stability of the spatially uniform steady-state. Analytical results reveal that instability can set in if the delays are large, while computational methods of analysing the stability equations reveal the precise shape of the instability boundary. The nonlinear stability of the uniform state is also examined using ladder methods.  相似文献

Oscillation criteria are established for a second-order forced dynamic equation on time scales containing both delay and advance arguments. Moreover, the potentials are allowed to change sign. Several nontrivial examples from difference equations are provided to illustrate the easy application of the results. The theory can be applied to second-order dynamic equations regardless of the choice of delta or nabla derivatives.  相似文献

This paper deals with the existence of solitary waves for Korteweg-de Vries equation with time delay. Based upon the inertial manifold theory and differential manifold geometric theory, the existence of solitary wave solution is proved when the delay is small enough. 研究了轴向激励作用下受控斜拉索系统主参数共振的时滞效应,考虑了拉索垂度和几何非线性的影响,基于Hamilton变分原理建立了受控斜拉索系统轴向激励下的非线性参数振动方程,利用Galerkin方法得到时滞动力系统,运用多尺度法对受控系统的主参数共振进行了分析,得到了不同时滞值、控制增益时参数振动稳定域和受控拉索的时程曲线.研究表明,时滞影响下斜拉索振动控制系统的效果变差,参数共振的稳定域发生偏移,对受控斜拉索系统的控制效果随着时滞的增大而变差,从而对控制系统的参数设计起到指导作用.  相似文献

The eigenvalues of a class of third order boundary value problem on time scales is investigated. It is shown that this kind of third order boundary value problem has finite number of eigenvalues, and the same results on time scales are previously known only for even order cases. The critical delays of a delay‐differential equation can be computed by solving a nonlinear two‐parameter eigenvalue problem. The solution of this two‐parameter problem can be translated to solving a quadratic eigenvalue problem of squared dimension. We present a structure preserving QR‐type method for solving such quadratic eigenvalue problem that only computes real‐valued critical delays; that is, complex critical delays, which have no physical meaning, are discarded. For large‐scale problems, we propose new correction equations for a Newton‐type or Jacobi–Davidson style method, which also forces real‐valued critical delays. We present three different equations: one real‐valued equation using a direct linear system solver, one complex valued equation using a direct linear system solver, and one Jacobi–Davidson style correction equation that is suitable for an iterative linear system solver. A reaction-diffusion population model with a general time-delayed growth rate per capita is considered. The growth rate per capita can be logistic or weak Allee effect type. From a careful analysis of the characteristic equation, the stability of the positive steady state solution and the existence of forward Hopf bifurcation from the positive steady state solution are obtained via the implicit function theorem, where the time delay is used as the bifurcation parameter. The general results are applied to a “food-limited” population model with diffusion and delay effects as well as a weak Allee effect population model.  相似文献

We investigate the interaction effect of fast vertical parametric excitation and time delay on self-oscillation in a van der Pol oscillator. We use the method of direct partition of motion to derive the main autonomous equation governing the slow dynamic and then we apply the averaging technique on this slow dynamic to derive a slow flow. In particular we analyze the slow flow to analytically approximate regions where self-excited vibrations can be eliminated. Numerical integration is performed and compared to the analytical results showing a good agreement for small time delay. It was shown that vertical parametric excitation, in the presence of delay, can suppress self-excited vibrations. These vibrations, however, persist for all values of the excitation frequency in the case of a fast vertical parametric excitation without delay [Bourkha R, Belhaq M. Summary Stability properties of the solutions of a Volterra's population equation including infinite delay and diffusion terms are studied via a linearized stability argument, which leads to investigating on operational characteristic equation. The interaction of toxic-phytoplankton-zooplankton systems and their dynamical behavior will be considered in this paper based upon nonlinear ordinary differential equation model system. We induced a discrete time delay to the both of the consume response function and distribution of toxic substance term to describe the delay in the conversion of nutrient consumed to species and the fact that the time required for the phytoplankton species to mature before they can produce toxic substances. We generalized the model in [1] and explicit results are derived for globally asymptotically stability of the boundary equilibrium. Using numerical simulation method, we determine there is a parameter range for the delay parameter τ where more complicated dynamics occurs, and this appears to be a new result. Significant outcomes of our numerical findings and their interpretations from ecological point of view are provided in this paper.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

A class of semilinear parabolic reaction diffusion equations with multiple time delays is considered. These time delays and corresponding weights are to be optimized such that the associated solution of the delay equation is the best approximation of a desired state function. The differentiability of the mapping is proved that associates the solution of the delay equation to the vector of weights and delays. Based on an adjoint calculus, first-order necessary optimality conditions are derived. Numerical test examples show the applicability of the concept of optimizing time delays.  相似文献
