In this paper, taking the partially coherent flat-topped (PCFT) beam as an example, we investigate the intensity distribution of broadband beams with astigmatic aberration propagating through a turbulent atmosphere. The analytic expressions for the intensity of the beams propagating through the turbulent atmosphere are derived. It is shown that the intensity distribution of the broadband aberrated PCFT beams in the turbulent atmosphere are closely related with the astigmatism aberration, the strength of atmospheric turbulence, the order of flatness, the correlation of source and the bandwidth of PCFT beams. It is important to note that the position of the focal plane of the broadband aberrated (or not) PCFT beams can be modulated by changing the aberration, the order of flatness, the correlation and the bandwidth of PCFT beams.  相似文献

Analytical expression for the propagation factor of a truncated partially coherent flat-topped (FT) beam in turbulent atmosphere is derived based on the extended Huygens-Fresnel integral and the second-order moments of the Wigner distribution function. Numerical results show that the radius of the aperture (i.e., truncation parameter) has strong influence on the evolution properties of the propagation factor of a truncated partially coherent FT beam, and the advantage of a truncated partially coherent FT beam over a truncated Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) beam or a truncated coherent FT beam for overcoming the turbulence-induced degradation disappears gradually with the decrease of the radius of the aperture.  相似文献

The closed-form expression for the angular spread of partially coherent annular flat-topped beams propagating through atmospheric turbulence is derived by using the integral transform technique. In comparison with previous work, the results obtained in this paper are more general. It is shown that, except for equivalent Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) beams as pointed out in Ref. [T. Shirai, A. Dogariu, E. Wolf, Opt. Lett. 28 (2003) 610], there also exist equivalent annular and non-annular beams which may generate the same directionality as the corresponding fully coherent Gaussian beam both in free space and in turbulence. The theoretical results are illustrated by numerical examples and interpreted physically.  相似文献

Spectral characteristics of partially coherent flat-topped (PCFT) beams propagated in a turbulent atmosphere are investigated and an analytical formula for the spectrum S(ω) is derived. It is shown that, if the scaling law is valid, the normalized spectrum S(ω) of PCFT beams propagating through turbulent atmosphere is the same as the normalized source spectrum S(0)(ω), this similarity is valid for any arbitrary order of the circular flat-topped “N”. It is proved that if the scaling law is not valid, S(ω) of PCFT is different from S(0)(ω). Also spectral behavior of PCFT beams in free space and turbulence media is investigated in detail.  相似文献

Based on the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle, the propagation formulate for partially coherent aberrated beam in a turbulent atmosphere has been derived. Then the propagation of such beams in the turbulent atmosphere has been studied in great detail. It is found that beams with spherical aberration spread more rapidly than those without spherical aberration. It is also found that the beam spreads more rapidly for a stronger turbulence or a source with lower coherence. In addition, some explanation to those results is also given.  相似文献

采用相屏近似处理方法对激光通过湍流大气的传输进行了数值模拟。从数值模拟的结果拟合出两个公式:一是通过湍流前后部分相干平顶高斯光束的束宽平方比随阶数、传输距离和湍流强度的变化关系式;一是通过湍流后的相干长度随初始光束相干长度、湍流相干长度的变化关系式。研究发现:部分相干平顶高斯光束分解为相互独立的厄米-高斯光束的叠加;相干性越差的光束受到湍流的影响程度就越小;湍流对光束传输的影响与光束自身相干特性对其传输的影响之间是不相关的。  相似文献

The propagation of flat-topped beam passing through a paraxial optical ABCD system is extended to partially coherent case and has been studied in detail. Based on Wigner distribution function (WDF), the irradiance distribution of partially coherent flat-topped beam is derived. 基于广义惠更斯-菲涅尔原理,并采用将部分相干双曲余弦高斯光束用厄米-高斯光束的非相干叠加表示的方法,研究了部分相干双曲余弦高斯光束通过湍流大气的光束扩展问题,推导出了部分相干双曲余弦高斯光束通过湍流大气均方根束宽的解析表达式.研究表明,部分相干双曲余弦高斯光束的扩展随着湍流大气的折射率结构常数C2n和光束离心参数δ的增大而加剧.但是,随着δ的增大,部分相干双曲余弦高斯光束受到湍流的影响减小. 关键词: 部分相干双曲余弦高斯光束 湍流大气 光束扩展  相似文献

The characteristics of partially coherent Bessel-Gaussian beams propagating in turbulent atmosphere are investigated. Based on the extended Huygens–Fresnel principle, the influence of topological charges and coherence of the source on the intensity and the degree of coherence in the received plane are considered. The influence of atmospheric turbulence on beam profile and coherence in the received plane is also analyzed. It is found that a Bessel-Gaussian shaped intensity distribution will eventually transform into a Gaussian distribution after propagating in turbulent atmosphere. Meanwhile, topological charges, coherence of the source and atmospheric turbulence will also influence the propagation characterizations of the beams.  相似文献

This paper is based on the unified theory of coherence and polarization of stochastic electromagnetic beams and the extended Huygens–Fresnel principle, combined with the quadratic approximation of Rytov’s phase structure function and the generalized Stokes parameters. We have derived the novel expressions for the cross-spectral density matrix elements and the degree of cross-polarization of a class of elliptically polarized spatially and spectrally partially coherent Electromagnetic Gaussian-Schell model pulse (EGSMP) beams propagating through atmospheric turbulence along a slant path. Additionally, we calculate and analyze the effects of the turbulent intensity, the initial pulse duration, waist width of the beam, the spatial coherence length and temporal coherence length et al. on the polarization properties of fully polarized and partially coherent EGSMP beams. Finally, a comparison of the impact of those factors on the partially polarization beams is made. The results show that the influences of the turbulent intensity, the initial pulse duration, waist width of the beam, the spatial coherence length and temporal coherence length et al. on the polarization properties of fully polarized and partially coherent EGSMP beams are larger. While the effects of those parameters on the partially polarization and partially coherent EGSMP beams are smaller. It is noted that the results of this paper have established sound theoretical basis on the topic of improving performance of the laser system propagating through the atmospheric turbulence.  相似文献

 从推广的惠更斯-菲涅尔原理出发,推导出了部分相干电磁光束的偏振态在湍流介质中传输的表达式。并以电磁高斯-谢尔模型(EGSM)光束为例,研究了湍流对电磁高斯-谢尔模型光束偏振态的影响。研究结果表明,对于轴上点,湍流介质的折射率结构常数越大,偏振度趋于最大值的速度越快,达到的最大值越小;光斑越大,偏振度达到最大值的位置离光源越远,在光斑增大的过程中,偏振度所达到的极大值会先增大后减小,最后保持与光源相同的偏振度不变。对于轴外点,一个固定的z,光的偏振度随着离轴距离的增大而逐渐下降,并最终等于零。折射率结构常数越大,偏振度随离轴距离的增大而下降得越缓慢;光斑越大,偏振度随离轴距离的增大下降得越快。  相似文献

To study the propagation properties of partially coherent Laguerre-Gaussian (PLG) beams through turbulent atmosphere, the analytical formulas are derived for the angular width and the beam-propagation factor (M2-factor) of PLG beams by using the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle and the second-order moments of the Wigner distribution function (WDF). The corresponding numerical results are also calculated. When propagation distance increases, the angular width is found to spread faster for PLG beams with higher beam order, smaller correlation length and bigger structure constant The angular width of PLG beams decreases with increase in waist width (w0).The M2-factor of PLG beams with higher beam order and smaller correlation length is less affected by turbulence with increase in propagation distance. The propagation properties of the M2-factor for PLG beams with the smaller structure constant are better than that with bigger structure constant . The M2-factor of PLG beams decreases with increase in the wavelength λ, and it is also less affected by turbulence for beams with higher order and smaller correlation length. Furthermore, for the PLG beams with the same beam order, the angular width and the M2-factor keep invariable in free space.  相似文献
