Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometrical structure and vibrational wavenumbers of ferulic acid (FA) (4-hydroxy-3-methoxycinnamic acid) were carried out by using density functional (DFT/B3LYP/BLYP) method with 6-31G(d,p) as basis set. The optimized geometrical parameters obtained by DFT calculations are in good agreement with single crystal XRD data. The vibrational spectral data obtained from solid phase FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra are assigned based on the results of the theoretical calculations. The observed spectra are found to be in good agreement with calculated values. The electric dipole moment (μ) and the first hyperpolarizability (β) values of the investigated molecule have been computed using ab initio quantum mechanical calculations. The calculation results also show that the FA molecule might have microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with non-zero values. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of FA was also reported. The energy and oscillator strength calculated by time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) results complements with the experimental findings. The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies shows that charge transfer occur within the molecule. The theoretical FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra for the title molecule have been constructed.  相似文献

The infrared and Raman spectra of (E)-4-((anthracen-9-ylmethylene)amino)-N-carbamimidoylbenzene sulfonamide have been recorded and analysed. Geometry and harmonic vibrational wavenumbers were calculated theoretically using Gaussian03 set of quantum chemistry codes. The data obtained from vibrational wavenumber calculations are used to assign vibrational bands found in infrared and Raman spectra of the studied molecule. The red-shift of the NH stretching band in the infrared spectrum from the computed wavenumber indicates the weakening of the NH bond. The NH stretching band has split into a doublet in the IR spectrum owing to the Davydov coupling between neighbouring units. The geometrical parameters of the title compound are in agreement with the reported similar derivatives. The calculated first hyperpolarizability is comparable with the reported value of similar structures and may be an attractive object for further studies on non-linear optics. The important thermodynamical parameters are also reported.  相似文献

The Fourier-transform infrared spectrum of 1,2-dichloro-4-nitrobenzene (DCNB) was recorded in the region 4000-400cm(-1). The Fourier-transform Raman spectrum of DCNB was also recorded in the region 3500-50cm(-1). Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometrical structure and vibrational wavenumbers of DCNB were carried out by ab initio HF and density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP) method with 6-31+G(d,p) basis set. The difference between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals is very small. The values of the total dipole moment (μ) and the first-order hyperpolarizability (β) of the investigated compound were computed using ab initio quantum mechanical calculations. The calculated results also show that the DCNB might have microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with non-zero values. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of DCNB is also reported based on total energy distribution (TED). The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies shows that charge transfer occur within the molecule. The theoretical FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra for the title compound have also been constructed.  相似文献

The geometry, frequency and intensity of the vibrational bands of 8-hydroxyquinoline (8-HOQ) were obtained by HF and density functional theory (DFT) with BLYP and B3LYP functionals and 6-31G(d) as the basis set. The optimized bond lengths and bond angles are in good agreement with the X-ray data. The vibrational spectra of 8-HOQ which is calculated by the HF and DFT methods, reproduces the vibrational wavenumbers and intensities with an accuracy, which allows reliable vibrational assignments. Complexes of the type Hg(8-HOQ)X(2) [where X = Cl , Br] have been studied in the 4000-200 cm(-1) region, and assignment of all the observed bands were made. The analysis of the infrared spectra indicates that there are some structure-spectra correlations.  相似文献

This study reports the characterization of disperse red 1 acrylate compound by spectral techniques and quantum chemical calculations. The spectroscopic properties were analyzed by FT-IR, UV-vis, (1)H NMR and (13)C NMR techniques. FT-IR spectrum in solid state was recorded in the region 4000-400 cm(-1). The UV-vis absorption spectrum of the compound that dissolved in methanol was recorded in the range of 200-800 nm. The (1)H and (13)C NMR spectra were recorded in CDCl(3) solution. The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecule in the ground state were calculated using density functional theory (DFT) employing B3LYP exchange correlation and the 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational wavenumbers were calculated and scaled values were compared with experimental FT-IR spectrum. A satisfactory consistency between the experimental and theoretical spectra was obtained and it shows that the hybrid DFT method is very useful in predicting accurate vibrational structure, especially for high-frequency region. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the experimental results and total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. Isotropic chemical shifts were calculated using the gauge-invariant atomic orbital (GIAO) method. A study on the electronic properties were performed by timedependent DFT (TD-DFT) and CIS(D) approach. To investigate non linear optical properties, the electric dipole moment μ, polarizability α, anisotropy of polarizability Δα and molecular first hyperpolarizability β were computed. The linear polarizabilities and first hyperpolarizabilities of the studied molecule indicate that the compound can be a good candidate of nonlinear optical materials.  相似文献

Fourier transform infrared and Fourier transform Raman spectra of Cu(II) bis-acetylacetone have been obtained. The geometry, frequency and intensity of the vibrational bands of this compound and its 1,5-(13)C(2), 3-(13)C, 1,3,5-(13)C(3), 2,4-(13)C(2), (18)O(2) and 2,4-(13)C(2)-(18)O(2) derivatives were obtained by the density functional theory (DFT) with the B3LYP functional and using the 6-31G(*) and 3-21G(*) basis sets. The calculated frequencies are compared with the solid infrared and Raman spectra. All the measured infrared and Raman bands were interpreted in terms of the calculated vibrational modes. The percentage of deviation of the bond lengths and bond angles gives a good picture of the normal modes, and serves as a basis for the assignment of the wavenumbers. Most computed bands are predicted to be at higher wavenumbers than the experimental bands. The calculated geometrical parameters show slight differences compared with the experimental results. These differences can be explained by the different physical state of Cu(II) bis-acetylacetone. The DFT-B3LYP calculations assumed a free molecule in the gas phase. Analysis of the vibrational spectra indicates a strong coupling between the chelated ring modes.  相似文献

In this work, the vibrational spectral analysis was carried out by using Raman and infrared spectroscopy in the range 100-4000 cm(-1) and 50-4000 cm(-1) respectively, for the title molecules. The molecular structure, fundamental vibrational frequencies and intensity of the vibrational bands are interpreted with the aid of structure optimizations and normal coordinate force field calculations based on Hartee-Fock (HF) and density functional theory (DFT) method and different basis sets combination. The complete vibrational assignments of wavenumbers were made on the basis of potential energy distribution (PED). The scaled B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) results show the best agreement with the experimental values over the other methods. The effects due to the substitutions of amino group and halogen bond were investigated. The results of the calculations were applied to simulate spectra of the title compounds, which show excellent agreement with observed spectra.  相似文献

The gas phase infrared spectrum of 3-aminoacetophenone (3AAP) was measured in the range 5000-500cm(-1) and with a resolution of 0.5cm(-1). The Fourier transform Raman (FT-Raman) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra of 3AAP were recorded in the solid phase. Geometry optimizations were done without any constraint and several thermodynamic parameters were calculated for the minimum energy conformer at ab initio and density functional theory (DFT) levels invoking 6-311G(2df 2p) basis set and the results are compared with the experimental values. Harmonic-vibrational wavenumber was also calculated for the minimum energy conformer at ab initio and DFT levels using 6-31G(d,p) basis set and the results are compared with related molecules. With the help of specific scaling procedures, the observed vibrational wavenumbers in gas phase, FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra were analyzed and assigned to different normal modes of the molecule. Most of the modes have wavenumbers in the expected range, the error obtained was in general very low. The appropriate theoretical spectrogram for the FT-IR spectra of the title molecule is also constructed.  相似文献

The infrared and Raman spectra of 1-phenyl-5-mercaptotetrazole (PMT) and 1-phenyl-5-mercaptotetrazole sodium salt in the solid state and in solution have been measured. Detailed vibrational assignments of PMT and 1-phenyl-5-mercaptotetrazolate (PMTA) have been performed. In order to give a firmer basis to the interpretation of the vibrational spectra, harmonic wavenumbers of PMT and PMTA have been calculated by means of MP2 and DFT/BPW91 calculations. The DFT calculations provide a satisfactory agreement between the calculated and observed wavenumbers without using scaling factors. Experimental evidence shows that PMT is present in the thione tautomer both in the solid state and in solution of polar solvents.  相似文献

The complete vibrational assignment and analysis of the fundamental modes of the compound were carried out using the observed FTIR and FT-Raman data. The normal coordinate analysis was also carried out with ab initio force fields utilising Wilson's FG matrix method. The interactions of cyano and carboxylic acid groups with the skeletal vibrational modes were investigated.  相似文献

The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 5-Fluorouracil were recorded in the solid phase in the regions 400-4000 cm(-1) and 50-4000 cm(-1), respectively. The vibrational spectra were analysed and the observed fundamentals were assigned to different normal modes of vibration. The experimental wavenumbers were compared with the scaled vibrational values using DFT methods: the Ar matrix data were related to gas phase calculations, while the values of the solid state spectra were compared to those with dimer simulations. The study indicates that some features that are characteristic of vibrational spectra of uracil and its derivatives are retained in the spectrum of 5-fluorouracil and it exists in ketonic form in the solid phase. The tautomerism was also studied and the spectra of the two most stable forms were simulated. The calculated wavenumbers have been employed to yield thermodynamic properties.  相似文献

Fourier-transform-Raman and infrared spectrum of 4-azatricyclo [5.2.2.02,6] undecane-3,5,8-trione were recorded and analyzed. The vibrational wavenumbers were examined theoretically using the Gaussian03 set of quantum chemistry codes, and the normal modes were assigned by potential energy distribution (PED) calculations. The first hyperpolarizability, predicted infrared intensities and Raman activities are reported. The calculated first hyperpolarizability is comparable with reported values of similar structures which makes this compound an attractive object for future studies of nonlinear optics. Optimized geometrical parameters of the compound are in agreement with similar reported structures. The red shift of the NH stretching wavenumber in the infrared spectrum from the computational wavenumber indicates the weakening of NH bond.  相似文献
