We consider the superconducting properties of Lieb lattice, which produces a flat-band energy spectrum in the normal state under the strong electron–electron correlation. Firstly, we show the hole-doping dependent superconducting order amplitude with various electron–electron interaction strengths in the zero-temperature limit. Secondly, we obtain the superfluid weight and Berezinskii–Kosterlitz–Thouless(BKT) transition temperature with a lightly doping level. The large ratio between the gap-opening temperature and BKT transition temperature shows similar behavior to the pseudogap state in high-T_c superconductors. The BKT transition temperature versus doping level exhibits a dome-like shape in resemblance to the superconducting dome observed in the high-T_c superconductors. However, unlike the exponential dependence of T_c on the electron–electron interaction strength in the conventional high-T_c superconductors, the BKT transition temperature for a flat band system depends linearly on the electron–electron interaction strength. We also show the doping-dependent superconductivity on a lattice with the staggered hoping parameter in the end. Our predictions are amenable to verification in the ultracold atoms experiment and promote the understanding of the anomalous behavior of the superfluid weight in the high-T_c superconductors.  相似文献

The phase diagram of a 2D Josephson junction array with large substrate resistance, described by a quantum XY model, is studied by means of Fourier path-integral Monte Carlo. A genuine Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless transition is found up to a threshold value g( small star, filled ) of the quantum coupling, beyond which no phase coherence is established. Slightly below g( small star, filled ) the phase stiffness shows a reentrant behavior with temperature, in connection with a low-temperature disappearance of the superconducting phase, driven by strong nonlinear quantum fluctuations.  相似文献

We present a one-dimensional dynamic model of polydisperse granular mixture with the fractal characteristic of the particle size distribution, in which the particles are subject to inelastic mutual collisions and are driven by Gaussian white noise. The inhomogeneity of the particle size distribution is described by a fractal dimension D. The stationary state that the mixture reaches is the result of the balance between energy dissipation and energy injection. By molecular dynamics simulations, we have mainly studied how the inhomogeneity of the particle size distribution and the inelasticity of collisions influence the velocity distribution and distribution of interparticle spacing in the steady-state.The simulation results indicate that, in the inelasticity case, the velocity distribution strongly deviates from the Gaussian one and the system has a strong spatial clustering. Thus the inhomogeneity and the inelasticity have great effects on the velocity distribution and distribution of interparticle spacing. The quantitative information of the non-Gaussian velocity distribution and that of clustering are respectively represented.  相似文献

In this paper we study the quantum phase transition and low temperature behavior in a square lattice quantum two-dimensional XY model with single-ion anisotropy and spin S=1. Starting with the Villain representation, a Landau-Ginzburg expression is written. The large D phase is studied using the bond operator formalism.  相似文献

We propose a two-dimensional model of polydisperse granular mixtures with a power-law size distribution in the presence of stochastic driving. A fractal dimension D is introduced as a measurement of the inhomogeneity of the size distribution of particles. We define the global and partial granular temperatures of the multi-component mixture. By direct simulation Monte Carlo, we investigate how the inhomogeneity of the size distribution influences the dynamic properties of the mixture, focusing on the granular temperature, dissipated energy, velocity distribution, spatial clusterization, and collision time. We get the following results: a single granular temperature does not characterize a multi-component mixture and each species attains its own "granular temperature"; The velocity deviation from Gaussian distribution becomes more and more pronounced and the partial density of the assembly is more inhomogeneous with the increasing value of the fractal dimension D; The global granular temperature decreases and average dissipated energy per particle increases as the value olD augments.  相似文献

Observation of superconductivity in a single layer of Pb on the (111) surface of bulk silicon has renewed interest in a longstanding question; can superconductivity persist to the ultimate atomic limit? Using first-principles techniques, we investigate the total electron-phonon coupling in monolayer Pb supported by a Si(111) substrate. Our ultra-fine sampling of the electronic structure, lattice dynamics and electron-phonon matrix elements in the nearly two-dimensional Brillouin zone yields a total electron-phonon coupling parameter which explains the experimentally observed superconducting transition temperature of 1.83 K [T. Zhang, et al., Nat. Phys. 6 (2010) 104]. The observed suppression of the superconducting transition temperature from the bulk value of 7.2 K is found to arise from the interplay of reduced electron-phonon matrix elements and a modification of the lattice dynamics resulting from the Pb-Si bonding.  相似文献

We use the density matrix renormalization group method to investigate the role of longitudinal quantized phonons on the Peierls transition in the spin-Peierls model. For both the XY and Heisenberg spin-Peierls model we show that the staggered phonon order parameter scales as sqrt[lambda] (and the dimerized bond order scales as lambda) as lambda-->0 (where lambda is the electron-phonon interaction). This result is true for both linear and cyclic chains. Thus, we conclude that the Peierls transition occurs at lambda=0 in these models. Moreover, for the XY spin-Peierls model we show that the quantum predictions for the bond order follow the classical prediction as a function of inverse chain size for small lambda. We therefore conclude that the zero lambda phase transition is of the mean-field type.  相似文献

For the spin models with continuous symmetry on regular lattices and finite range of interactions, the lower critical dimension is d?=?2. In two dimensions the classical XY-model displays Berezinskii–Kosterlitz–Thouless (BKT) transition associated with unbinding of topological defects (vortices and antivortices). We perform a Monte Carlo study of the classical XY-model on Sierpiński pyramids (SPs) whose fractal dimension is D = log?4/log?2?=?2 and the average coordination number per site is ≈ 7. The specific heat does not depend on the system size which indicates the absence of a long-range order. From the dependence of the helicity modulus on the cluster size and on boundary conditions, we draw a conclusion that in the thermodynamic limit there is no BKT transition at any finite temperature. This conclusion is also supported by our results for linear magnetic susceptibility. The lack of finite temperature phase transition is presumably caused by the finite order of ramification of SP.  相似文献

Beyond the usual ferromagnetic and paramagnetic phases present in spin systems, the usual q-state clock model presents an intermediate vortex state when the number of possible orientations q for the system is greater than or equal to 5. Such vortex states give rise to the Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless (BKT) phase present up to the XY model in the limit q. Based on information theory, we present here an analysis of the classical order parameters plus new short-range parameters defined here. Thus, we show that even using the first nearest neighbors spin-spin correlations only, it is possible to distinguish the two transitions presented by this system for q greater than or equal to 5. Moreover, the appearance at relatively low temperature and disappearance of the BKT phase at a rather fix higher temperature is univocally determined by the short-range interactions recognized by the information content of classical and new parameters.  相似文献

The entanglement dynamics of three-qubit states under a general XY spin-chain environment which can exhibit a quantum phase transition is investigated by using negativity as entanglement measure. Our results imply that the entanglement evolution depends not only on the states of concern but also on the system-environment coupling, the anisotropy parameter, the size of the environment, and the strength of the external field applied to the environment. For the cases under study, we find that the entanglement decay is enhanced by quantum phase transition under weak coupling. The conditions to identify quantum decoherence-free subspaces have been discussed.  相似文献

We study a phase transition in a 3D lattice gauge theory, a "coarse-grained" version of a classical dimer model. Duality arguments indicate that the dimer lattice theory should be dual to a XY model coupled to a gauge field with geometric frustration. The transition between a Coulomb phase with dipolar correlations and a long range ordered columnar phase is understood in terms of a Higgs mechanism. Monte Carlo simulations of the dual model indicate a continuous transition with exponents close but apparently different from those of the 3D XY model. The continuous nature of the transition is confirmed by a flowgram analysis.  相似文献

A simple Kronig-Penney model for 1D mesoscopic systems with δ peak potentials is used to study numerically the influence of spatial disorder on conductance fluctuations and distribution at different regimes. The Lévy laws are used to investigate the statistical properties of the eigenstates. It is found that an Anderson transition occurs even in 1D meaning that the disorder can also provide constructive quantum interferences. The critical disorder Wc for this transition is estimated. In these 1D systems, the metallic phase is well characterized by a Gaussian conductance distribution. Indeed, the results relative to conductance distribution are in good agreement with the previous works in 2D and 3D systems for other models. At this transition, the conductance probability distribution has a system size independent shape with large fluctuations in good agreement with previous works.  相似文献

We studied the commensurate semifluxon oscillations of Josephson flux-flow in Bi-2212 stacked structures near Tc as a probe of melting of a Josephson vortex lattice. We found that oscillations exist above 0.5 T. The amplitude of the oscillations is found to decrease gradually with the temperature and to turn to zero without any jump at T = T0 (3.5 K below the resistive transition temperature Tc), thus, indicating a phase transition of the second order. This characteristic temperature T0 is identified as the Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless (BKT) transition temperature, TBKT, in the elementary superconducting layers of Bi-2212 at zero magnetic field. On the basis of these facts, we infer that melting of a triangular Josephson vortex lattice occurs via the BKT phase with formation of characteristic flux loops containing pancake vortices and antivortices. The B-T phase diagram of the BKT phase found from our experiment is consistent with theoretical predictions.  相似文献

We have performed large-scale dynamical simulations on the current-driven three-dimensional frustrated anisotropic XY model with sparse weak columnar defects. Below the matching field, a moving Bose glass phase with superconducting coherence but without spatial order is observed at low temperatures. For very small columnar defect concentrations, a moving Bragg glass phase with both superconducting coherence and hexagonal Bragg peaks can be formed. Both the moving Bose glass and Bragg glass phases dynamically melt into a moving smectic via a first-order phase transition. It is suggested that the proliferation of dislocations mediates the dynamical melting in both cases.  相似文献
