We report an all-fiber high power,single frequency large-mode area (LMA) linearly polarized ytterbiumdoped fiber amplifiers (YDFA) module,which is based on the master oscillator multi-stage power amplifiers (MOPA).The maximum output power is 43.8 W at a wavelength of 1064 nm when 60-W launched pump light is coupled,with high slope efficiency of 88%,polarization extinction rate (PER) >17.2 dB and nearly diffraction-limited beam quality (M 2 <1.1).  相似文献

研制了一台全光纤结构主振荡功率放大型掺镱单频光纤激光器。该光纤激光器包括种子激光器和级联放大器两部分。种子激光器是自行搭建的环形腔结构的单频窄线宽光纤激光器。在976 nm半导体激光器泵浦下,能够输出线宽为10 MHz量级、波长为1 079.88 nm的单频光,激光功率为10.02 W,光-光转化效率为58.9%,斜率效率为65.3%。  相似文献

近年来,掺Tm3+:ZBLANP玻璃已成为固体材料激光冷却领域中最有希望的新材料之一,但有关掺Tm3+:ZBLANP光纤的激光冷却尚未见到理论研究与实验报道.本文采用一个简单的理论模型,就Tm3+:ZBLANP光纤的激光冷却进行了理论研究与分析,讨论了量子效率、抽运功率、背景吸收、出射荧光波长变化和环境黑体辐射等对激光制冷效果的影响,得到了一些有趣的重要结果,可为掺Tm3+:ZBLANP光纤的激光冷却实验提供可靠的理论依据.  相似文献

Laser emission in the range of 1.88-1.99 micrim from a Tm3+ -doped tellurite fiber is demonstrated when pumped with a diode-pumped Er3+/Yb3+-doped silica fiber laser operating at 1.57-1.61 microm. This pump source excites the Tm3+ ions directly into the F43 upper laser level and yields an output power of 280 mW with a slope efficiency of 76% in a 99%-12% laser cavity arrangement and a 32 cm long fiber. This result is very close to the Stokes efficiency limit of approximately 80%. This is, to the authors' knowledge, the first demonstration of high efficiency lasing in a tellurite fiber at wavelengths longer than 1.56 microm.  相似文献

The CW 25.6 W output power with a slope efficiency of 30.6% respected to the pump power from a CW single transverse mode all-fiber Tm3+-doped Silica Fiber Laser is reported. The all-fiber laser is made up by progressively splicing the pigtail fiber, matched FBG fiber and Tm fiber. The reflective FBG and Tm3+-doped fiber end Fresnel reflection build up the laser resonance cavity. Due to the multi-mode FBG as the reflective mirror, the output laser spectrum is multi-peaks at high output power, but the spectrum width is less than 2 nm at 1.94 μm. We estimate the beam quality to be M 2 = 2.39, clearly indicating nearly diffraction-limited beam propagation.  相似文献

High-power operation of diode-pumped fiber lasers at wavelength near 2μm are demonstrated with short length of heavily Tm3 -doped silica glass fibers. With 7-cm long fiber, a laser at near 2 μm is obtained with the threshold of 135 mW, maximum output power of 1.09 W, and slope efficiency of 9.6% with respect to the launched power from a laser diode at 790 nm. The output stability of this fiber laser is within 5%.The dependence of the performance of fiber lasers on the operation temperature and cavity configuration parameters is also investigated.  相似文献

We report here the efficiency improvement in a fiber Raman laser by splicing to it short pieces of 10000-ppm Yb3+-doped fibers. The amplified spontaneous emission produced by the doped fiber started the stimulated Raman scattering earlier than the spontaneous scattering in the 350-m silica-fiber cavity. In the best case, when splicing to the cavity 127 cm of doped fiber, the pump threshold decreased from 2.9 down to 1.27 W, representing a 56% improvement. This power was close to the theoretical minimum of 1.25 W for very long fibers. The second stokes signal (1175 nm) was only present when the doped fibers were inserted. At 4-W pump, the non-doped cavity delivered 2 W of first stokes signal (1117 nm) that represent a 50% efficiency compared to ~3 W delivered (~75%) when a 34-cm doped fiber was inserted. This improvement is intended to reduce the cost of fiber Raman lasers because less powerful sources or shorter fibers are necessary to produce more stokes components.  相似文献

In this work, CW laser operation of Tm3+-doped LiNbO3 channel waveguides has been modelled. The model is based on time dependent laser rate equations coupled with the laser signal and pump photon flux equations. Steady state solutions for the population densities, pump and signal powers are obtained by using finite difference discretization of the active volume. The effects of spectroscopic parameters such as concentration dependent cross-relaxation and excess waveguide loss have been analyzed. We demonstrate good agreement with experimental data previously reported in Zn-diffused LiNbO3:Tm3+ channel waveguide lasers. It is shown also that laser performance can be substantially improved by optimizing the cavity length.  相似文献

研究了一种混合掺铒/铒镱共掺光纤放大器,用掺铒光纤放大器作为输入信号的预放大器,用铒镱共掺双包层光纤放大器作为主放大器。掺铒光纤放大器采用20m长掺铒光纤作为增益介质,采用最大输出功率318mW的单模半导体激光器二极管作为泵浦源,预放大器获得的最大输出功率是113mW。铒镱共掺光纤放大器采用14m长铒镱共掺双包层光纤作为增益介质,采用2个915nm多模半导体激光二极管作为泵浦源,在输入信号功率为10mW、信号波长1555nm时,混合光纤放大器获得了最大输出功率为32.04dBm,即1.6W,与此相应的混合光纤放大器的光-光转换效率为18.5%。  相似文献

An all-fiber Yb3+-doped double-clad fiber laser using FBGs as cavity mirrors is investigated in this paper. Continuous-wave (CW) output power of 1.18 W with defined wavelength at 1.06 um and narrow line-width of less than 0.1 nm is obtained. The slope efficiency and the maximum optical-to-optical efficiency of laser output are 68% and 51%, respectively, with respect to absorbed pump power.  相似文献

Er^3+-doped phosphor-tellurite glass for broadband short-length Er^3+-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) is fabricated and characterized. The differential value (AT) of onset crystalline temperature (Tx) and glass transition temperature (Tg) is 206 ℃. The stimulated emission cross section of Er^3+ is calculated from absorption spectrum by McCumber theory and is 0.87 × 10 ^-20 cm^2 at 1532 nm. A broad 1.5-μm fluorescence spectrum with 54-nm full-width at half maximum (FWHM) is demonstrated. Especially, the maximum phonon energy of undoped phosphor-tellurite glass is 1100 cm^- 1, which restricts the upconversion luminescence. It is possible to pump efficiently at 980 nm. These results indicate Er^3+-doped phosphor-tellurite glass is suitable for fabricating broadband short-length EDFA.  相似文献

A diode-pumped Q-switched Tm(3+)-doped double-clad silica fiber laser is reported providing average powers of up to 30 W at pulse widths of only 41 ns and repetition rates in the range of 10-125 kHz. Up to 270 microJ pulse energy was produced. Amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) buildup limits the maximum peak power, and the pump power and average output power at the point of ASE induced clamping were found to depend linearly on the repetition rate.  相似文献

A peak output power of greater than 4.1 kW and a pulse duration at FWHM of 150 ns have been obtained in a Q-switched Tm3+-doped silica fiber laser in the wavelength region near 2 microm when the laser was pumped with a Nd:YAG laser operating at 1.319 microm. An acousto-optic modulator was used as a Q-switching element and operated at repetition rates of as much as 30 kHz. A core diameter of 17 microm was used to increase the laser gain volume, permitting high-pump-power absorption and an output of high pulse energy and peak power. Stimulated Brillouin scattering was directly observed in the output pulse, and as much as 10 orders of stimulated Brillouin scattering was recorded. This is the first report to the authors' knowledge of high-peak-power operation of a Tm3+-fiber laser.  相似文献

A new transparent Tm3+-doped ZrF4-based nanocrystallized glass with the composition of 55ZrF4-20BaF2-18.8YF3-5AlF5-1.2TmF3 (mol%) (ZBYA) has been prepared by a conventional melting quenching technique and the subsequent heat treatment processes. The glass characteristic temperatures, the apparent activation energy, and the Avrami parameter for crystallization are estimated on the basis of different scanning calorimetry (DSC). The sizes of grown nanocrystals in the glass matrix appear to be 30-36.5 nm and it is studied as a function of the nucleation temperature, also the peak intensity of the nanocrystalline is studied as a function of the nucleation temperature from the X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurement. The microhardness measurement shows that the Vickers microhardness (Hv) values of the heat-treated glass samples are larger than that of the based glass about 17.26%-42.04%.  相似文献
