Multi-component MOFs contain multiple sets of unique and hierarchical pores, with different functions for different applications, distributed in their inter-linked domains. Herein, we report the construction of a class of precisely aligned flexible-on-rigid hybrid-phase MOFs with a unique rods-on-octahedron morphology. We demonstrated that hybrid-phase MOFs can be constructed based on two prerequisites: the partially matched topology at the interface of the two frameworks, and the structural flexibility of MOFs with acs topology, which can compensate for the differences in lattice parameters. Furthermore, we achieved domain selective loading of multiple guest molecules into the hybrid-phase MOF, as observed by scanning transmission electron microscopy–energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry elemental mapping. Most importantly, we successfully applied the constructed hybrid-phase MOF to develop a dual-drug delivery system with controllable loading ratio and release kinetics.  相似文献

Epitaxial growth of MOF‐on‐MOF composite is an evolving research topic in the quest for multifunctional materials. In previously reported methods, the core–shell MOFs were synthesized via a stepwise strategy that involved growing the shell‐MOFs on top of the preformed core‐MOFs with matched lattice parameters. However, the inconvenient stepwise synthesis and the strict lattice‐matching requirement have limited the preparation of core–shell MOFs. Herein, we demonstrate that hybrid core–shell MOFs with mismatching lattices can be synthesized under the guidance of nucleation kinetic analysis. A series of MOF composites with mesoporous core and microporous shell were constructed and characterized by optical microscopy, powder X‐ray diffraction, gas sorption measurement, and scanning electron microscopy. Isoreticular expansion of microporous shells and orthogonal modification of the core was realized to produce multifunctional MOF composites, which acted as size selective catalysts for olefin epoxidation with high activity and selectivity.  相似文献

Fabrication of hybrid MOF‐on‐MOF heteroarchitectures can create novel and multifunctional platforms to achieve desired properties. However, only MOFs with similar crystallographic parameters can be hybridized by the classical epitaxial growth method (EGM), which largely suppressed its applications. A general strategy, called internal extended growth method (IEGM), is demonstrated for the feasible assembly of MOFs with distinct crystallographic parameters in an MOF matrix. Various MOFs with diverse functions could be introduced in a modular MOF matrix to form 3D core–satellite pluralistic hybrid system. The number of different MOF crystals interspersed could be varied on demand. More importantly, the different MOF crystals distributed in individual domains could be used to further incorporate functional units or enhance target functions.  相似文献

The structural, compositional, and morphological features of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) govern their properties and applications. Construction of hybrid MOFs with complicated structures, components, or morphologies is significant for the development of well‐organized MOFs. An advanced route is reported for construction of atypical hybrid MOFs with unique morphologies and complicated components: 1) MOF‐on‐MOF growth of a 3D zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF) on a ZIF‐L template, 2) etching of a part of the 2D ZIF‐L template, and 3) structural transformation of 2D ZIF‐L into 3D ZIF. The formation of core–shell‐type MOF rings and plates is controlled by regulating the three processes. The formation route for the core–shell‐type MOF rings and plates was monitored by tracking changes in morphology, structure, and composition. Carbon materials prepared from the pyrolysis of the core–shell‐type hybrid MOFs displayed enhanced oxygen reduction reaction activities compared to their monomeric counterparts.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), as a class of microporous materials with well‐defined channels and rich functionalities, hold great promise for various applications. Yet the formation and crystallization processes of various MOFs with distinct topology, connectivity, and properties remain largely unclear, and the control of such processes is rather challenging. Starting from a 0D Cu coordination polyhedron, MOP‐1, we successfully unfolded it to give a new 1D‐MOF by a single‐crystal‐to‐single‐crystal (SCSC) transformation process at room temperature as confirmed by SXRD. We also monitored the continuous transformation states by FTIR and PXRD. Cu MOFs with 2D and 3D networks were also obtained from this 1D‐MOF by SCSC transformations. Furthermore, Cu MOFs with 0D, 1D, and 3D networks, MOP‐1, 1D‐MOF, and HKUST‐1, show unique performances in the kinetics of the C?H bond catalytic oxidation reaction.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are emerging as leading candidates for nanoscale drug delivery, as a consequence of their high drug capacities, ease of functionality, and the ability to carefully engineer key physical properties. Despite many anticancer treatment regimens consisting of a cocktail of different drugs, examples of delivery of multiple drugs from one MOF are rare, potentially hampered by difficulties in postsynthetic loading of more than one cargo molecule. Herein, we report a new strategy, multivariate modulation, which allows incorporation of up to three drugs in the Zr MOF UiO‐66 by defect‐loading. The drugs are added to one‐pot solvothermal synthesis and are distributed throughout the MOF at defect sites by coordination to the metal clusters. This tight binding comes with retention of crystallinity and porosity, allowing a fourth drug to be postsynthetically loaded into the MOFs to yield nanoparticles loaded with cocktails of drugs that show enhancements in selective anticancer cytotoxicity against MCF‐7 breast cancer cells in vitro. We believe that multivariate modulation is a significant advance in the application of MOFs in biomedicine, and anticipate the protocol will also be adopted in other areas of MOF chemistry, to easily produce defective MOFs with arrays of highly functionalised pores for potential application in gas separations and catalysis.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), with their well‐defined pores and rich structural diversity and functionality, have drawn a great deal of attention from across the scientific community. However, industrial applications are hampered by their intrinsic fragility and poor processability. Stable and resilient MOF devices with tunable flexibility are highly desirable. Herein, we present a solvent‐ and binder‐free approach for producing stable MOF coatings by a unique hot‐pressing (HoP) method, in which temperature and pressure are applied simultaneously to facilitate the rapid growth of MOF nanocrystals onto desired substrates. This strategy was proven to be applicable to carboxylate‐based, imidazolate‐based, and mixed‐metal MOFs. We further successfully obtained superhydrophobic and “Janus” MOF films through layer‐by‐layer pressing. This HoP method can be scaled up in the form of roll‐to‐roll production and may push MOFs into unexplored industrial applications.  相似文献

An understanding of solid‐state crystal dynamics or flexibility in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) showing multiple structural changes is highly demanding for the design of materials with potential applications in sensing and recognition. However, entangled MOFs showing such flexible behavior pose a great challenge in terms of extracting information on their dynamics because of their poor single‐crystallinity. In this article, detailed experimental studies on a twofold entangled MOF ( f‐MOF‐1) are reported, which unveil its structural response toward external stimuli such as temperature, pressure, and guest molecules. The crystallographic study shows multiple structural changes in f‐MOF‐1 , by which the 3 D net deforms and slides upon guest removal. Two distinct desolvated phases, that is, f‐MOF‐1 a and f‐MOF‐1 b , could be isolated; the former is a metastable one and transformable to the latter phase upon heating. The two phases show different gated CO2 adsorption profiles. DFT‐based calculations provide an insight into the selective and gated adsorption behavior with CO2 of f‐MOF‐1 b . The gate‐opening threshold pressure of CO2 adsorption can be tuned strategically by changing the chemical functionality of the linker from ethanylene (?CH2?CH2?) in f‐MOF‐1 to an azo (?N=N?) functionality in an analogous MOF, f‐MOF‐2 . The modulation of functionality has an indirect influence on the gate‐opening pressure owing to the difference in inter‐net interaction. The framework of f‐MOF‐1 is highly responsive toward CO2 gas molecules, and these results are supported by DFT calculations.  相似文献

Ionic metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are a subclass of porous materials that have the ability to incorporate different charged species in confined nanospace by ion‐exchange. To date, however, very few examples combining mesoporosity and water stability have been realized in ionic MOF chemistry. Herein, we report the rational design and synthesis of a water‐stable anionic mesoporous MOF based on uranium and featuring tbo‐type topology. The resulting tbo MOF exhibits exceptionally large open cavities (3.9 nm) exceeding those of all known anionic MOFs. By supercritical CO2 activation, a record‐high Brunauer‐Emmett‐Teller (BET) surface area (2100 m2 g?1) for actinide‐based MOFs has been obtained. Most importantly, however, this new uranium‐based MOF is water‐stable and able to absorb positively charged ions selectively over negatively charged ones, enabling the efficient separation of organic dyes and biomolecules.  相似文献

The catalytic acceptorless dehydrogenation (CAD) is an attractive synthetic route to unsaturated compounds because of its high atomic efficiency. Here we report electrochemical acceptorless dehydrogenation of N‐heterocycles to obtain quinoline or indole derivatives using metal‐organic layer (MOL) catalyst. MOL is the two‐dimensional version of metal‐organic frameworks (MOF), and it can be constructed on conductive multi‐walled carbon nanotubes via facile solvothermal synthesis to overcome the conductivity constraint for MOFs in electrocatalysis. TEMPO‐OPO32? was incorporated into the system through a ligand exchange with capping formate on the MOL surface to serve as the active catalytic centers. The hybrid catalyst is efficient in the organic conversion and can be readily recycled and reused.  相似文献

A method for modifying the external surfaces of a series of nanoscale metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with 1,2‐dioleoyl‐sn‐glycero‐3‐phosphate (DOPA) is presented. A series of zirconium‐based nanoMOFs of the same topology (UiO‐66, UiO‐67, and BUT‐30) were synthesized, isolated as aggregates, and then conjugated with DOPA to create stably dispersed colloids. BET surface area analysis revealed that these structures maintain their porosity after surface functionalization, providing evidence that DOPA functionalization only occurs on the external surface. Additionally, dye‐labeled ligand loading studies revealed that the density of DOPA on the surface of the nanoscale MOF correlates to the density of metal nodes on the surface of each MOF. Importantly, the surface modification strategy described will allow for the general and divergent synthesis and study of a wide variety of nanoscale MOFs as stable colloidal materials.  相似文献

The loading of a metal‐organic framework (MOF), [Cu3(btc)2xH2O] HKUST‐1, with europium β‐diketonate complexes is studied with the goal to using the porous molecular framework as a photonic antenna. Whereas loading of HKUST‐1 powder particles produced via the conventional solvothermal synthesis method was strongly hindered, for HKUST‐1 SURMOFs, thin MOF films fabricated using the liquid phase epitaxy method, a high filling factor can be achieved. The optical properties of the HKUST‐1‐MOFs before and after loading were analysed with the aid of luminescence spectroscopy. Careful analysis of the absorption spectra reveals the presence of an effective energy transfer between the HKUST‐1 framework and the Eu3+ centers.  相似文献

A UiO‐66‐NCS MOF was formed by postsynthetic modification of UiO‐66‐NH2. The UiO‐66‐NCS MOFs displays a circa 20‐fold increase in activity against the chemical warfare agent simulant dimethyl‐4‐nitrophenyl phosphate (DMNP) compared to UiO‐66‐NH2, making it the most active MOF materials using a validated high‐throughput screening. The ?NCS functional groups provide reactive handles for postsynthetic polymerization of the MOFs into functional materials. These MOFs can be tethered to amine‐terminated polypropylene polymers (Jeffamines) through a facile room‐temperature synthesis with no byproducts. The MOFs are then crosslinked into a MOF–polythiourea (MOF–PTU) composite material, maintaining the catalytic properties of the MOF and the flexibility of the polymer. This MOF–PTU hybrid material was spray‐coated onto Nyco textile fibers, displaying excellent adhesion to the fiber surface. The spray‐coated fibers were screened for the degradation of DMNP and showed durable catalytic reactivity.  相似文献

Multicomponent metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) are built up from multiple ligands that are geometrically distinct. These ligands occupy specific positions in the MOF lattice. Installing different functionalities at precise locations in the framework is an important step in making MOFs for specific applications. This can be achieved by designing functionalized ligands for multicomponent MOFs. Here, we report a simple synthetic procedure for a new tritopic triazatruxene based tricarboxylic acid, H3tat. We show that this ligand can be symmetrically derivatized with various substituents on its nitrogen centres. We report a new isoreticular series of well‐ordered quaternary MOFs based on these new triazatruxene ligands together with two linear carboxylate ligands and Zn4O clusters. These MOFs are isostructural to the previously reported MUF‐77 series and show similar high surface areas and large pore volumes. Furthermore, H‐bonding between the NH sites of the incorporated triazatruxene ligands and guest molecules is employed to modify their fluorescence behavior.  相似文献

Semiconductive metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged in applications such as chemical sensors, electrocatalysts, energy storage materials, and electronic devices. However, examples of semiconductive MOFs within flexible electronics have not been reported. We present flexible X‐ray detectors prepared by thermoplastic dispersal of a semiconductive MOF ( SCU‐13 ) through a commercially available polymer, poly(vinylidene fluoride). The flexible detectors exhibit efficient X‐ray‐to‐electric current conversion with enhanced charge‐carrier mobility and low trap density compared to pelleted devices. A high X‐ray detection sensitivity of 65.86 μCGyair?1 cm?2 was achieved, which outperforms other pelleted devices and commercial flexible X‐ray detectors. We demonstrate that the MOF‐based flexible detectors can be operated at multiple bending angles without a deterioration in detection performance. As a proof‐of‐concept, an X‐ray phase contrast under bending conditions was constructed using a 5×5 pixelated MOF‐based imager.  相似文献

Recently, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with multifunctional pore chemistry have been intensively investigated for positioning the desired morphology at specific locations onto substrates for manufacturing devices. Herein, we develop a micro‐confined interfacial synthesis (MIS) approach for fabrication of a variety of free‐standing MOF superstructures with desired shapes. This approach for engineering MOFs provides three key features: 1) in situ synthesis of various free‐standing MOF superstructures with controlled compositions, shape, and thickness using a mold membrane; 2) adding magnetic functionality into MOF superstructures by loading with Fe3O4 nanoparticles; 3) transferring the synthesized MOF superstructural array on to flat or curved surface of various substrates. The MIS route with versatile potential opens the door for a number of new perspectives in various applications.  相似文献

Porous metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) loading metal nanoparticles to form a composite photocatalyst demonstrated unique advantages. Modification of the electron donating group on the aromatic linkers of MOFs could increase the absorption range of light, thereby increasing the photocatalytic activity. In this study, we prepared a composite photocatalyst using a stable NH2‐functionalized MOF (UiO‐66‐NH2) to load semiconductor Ag/AgBr nanoparticles, and the resultant composites have intense optical absorption throughout visible light range. The greatly enhanced optical absorption and the unique hetero‐junction between Ag/AgBr and UiO‐66‐NH2 render efficient separation and utilization of photogenerated electron‐hole pairs. Therefore, Ag/AgBr@UiO‐66‐NH2 showed much more excellent photocatalytic activity, compared with unmodified UiO‐66 loading Ag/AgBr (Ag/AgBr@UiO‐66) and reported AgX@MOF catalysts. Moreover, the composite photocatalysts showed excellent stability during cycling experiment.  相似文献

Two metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with Zr–oxo secondary building units (SBUs) were prepared by using p,p′‐terphenyldicarboxylate (TPDC) bridging ligands pre‐functionalized with orthogonal succinic acid (MOF‐ 1 ) and maleic acid groups (MOF‐ 2 ). Single‐crystal X‐ray structure analysis of MOF‐ 1 provides the first direct evidence for eight‐connected SBUs in UiO‐type MOFs. In contrast, MOF‐ 2 contains twelve‐connected SBUs as seen in the traditional UiO MOF topology. These structural assignments were confirmed by extended X‐ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) analysis. The highly porous MOF‐ 1 is an excellent fluorescence sensor for metal ions with the detection limit of <0.5 ppb for Mn2+and three to four orders of magnitude greater sensitivity for metal ions than previously reported luminescent MOFs.  相似文献

Versatility in metal substitution is one of the key aspects of metal‐organic framework (MOF) chemistry, allowing properties to be tuned in a rational way. As a result, it important to understand why MOF syntheses involving different metals arrive at or fail to produce the same topological outcome. Frequently, conditions are tuned by trial‐and‐error to make MOFs with different metal species. We ask: is it possible to adjust synthetic conditions in a systematic way in order to design routes to desired phases? We have used in situ X‐ray powder diffraction to study the solvothermal formation of isostructural M2(bdc)2dabco (M=Zn, Co, Ni) pillared‐paddlewheel MOFs in real time. The metal ion strongly influences both kinetics and intermediates observed, leading in some cases to multiphase reaction profiles of unprecedented complexity. The standard models used for MOF crystallization break down in these cases; we show that a simple kinetic model describes the data and provides important chemical insights on phase selection.  相似文献

Micro/nanoscale multicolor barcodes with unique identifiability and a small footprint play significant roles in applications such as multiplexed labeling and tracking systems. Now, a strategy is reported to design multicolor photonic barcodes based on 1D Ln‐MOF multiblock heterostructures, where the domain‐controlled emissive colors and different block lengths constitute the fingerprint of a corresponding heterostructure. The excellent heteroepitaxial growth characteristics of MOFs enable the effective modulation of the coding structures, thereby remarkably increasing the encoding capacity. The as‐prepared multicolor barcodes enable an efficient authentication and exhibit great potential in fulfilling the functions of anti‐counterfeiting, information security, and so on. The results will pave an avenue to novel hybrid MOFs for optical data recording and security labels.  相似文献
