The reaction of a Lewis acidic borane with an alkyne is a key step in a diverse range of main group transformations. Alkyne 1,1-carboboration, the Wrackmeyer reaction, is an archetypal transformation of this kind. 1,1-Carboboration has been proposed to proceed through a zwitterionic intermediate. We report the isolation and spectroscopic, structural and computational characterization of the zwitterionic intermediates generated by reaction of B(C6F5)3 with alkynes. The stepwise reactivity of the zwitterion provides new mechanistic insight for 1,1-carboboration and wider B(C6F5)3 catalysis. Making use of intramolecular stabilization by a ferrocene substituent, we have characterized the zwitterionic intermediate in the solid state and diverted reactivity towards alkyne cyclotrimerization.  相似文献

The vicinal P/B frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) Mes2PCH2CH2B(C6F5)2 undergoes 1,1‐carboboration reactions with the Me3Si‐substituted enynes to give ring‐enlarged functionalized C3‐bridged P/B FLPs. These serve as active FLPs in the activation of dihydrogen to give the respective zwitterionic [P]H+/[B]H? products. One such product shows activity as a metal‐free catalyst for the hydrogenation of enamines or a bulky imine. The ring‐enlarged FLPs contain dienylborane functionalities that undergo “bora‐Nazarov”‐type ring‐closing rearrangements upon photolysis. A DFT study had shown that the dienylborane cyclization of such systems itself is endothermic, but a subsequent C6F5 migration is very favorable. Furthermore, substituted 2,5‐dihydroborole products are derived from cyclization and C6F5 migration from the photolysis reaction. In the case of the six‐membered annulation product, a subsequent stereoisomerization reaction takes place and the resultant compound undergoes a P/B FLP 1,2‐addition reaction with a terminal alkyne with rearrangement.  相似文献

In this study the scope of the 1,1‐carboboration reaction was extended to the preparation of mixed heterole‐based conjugated π‐systems. Two arylbis(alkynyl)phosphane starting materials 2 were synthesized bearing two thiophene isomers at the alkyne units and the bulky tipp‐substituent (tipp=2,4,6‐triisopropylphenyl) at the phosphorous atom. The bis(thienylethynyl)phosphanes 2 were converted into the corresponding 2,5‐thienyl‐substituted 3‐borylphospholes 4 in a double 1,1‐carboboration reaction sequence employing the strongly electrophilic B(C6F5)3 reagent under mild reaction conditions. Subsequent Suzuki–Miyaura type cross‐coupling yielded the corresponding 3‐phenylphospholes 7 in a one‐pot procedure from phosphanes 2 in high yields. Phospholes 7 were converted into the respective phosphole oxides 8 . A photophysical characterization of derivatives 7 and 8 was carried out. The results presented here demonstrate the suitability of the 1,1‐carboboration reaction for the preparation of phosphole‐/thiophene‐based, light‐emitting systems.  相似文献

The 1,2‐bis[(diarylphosphino)ethynyl]benzene derivatives 1a (R=Ph) and 1b (R=o‐tolyl) undergo 1,1‐carboboration at one of their acetylene units upon treatment with (C6F5)3B at elevated temperature to give the products 5a and 5b , respectively. At room temperature, we observed the formation of the corresponding phosphireniumborate zwitterions, 7a and 7b , respectively, which may be intermediates of the 1,1‐carboboration reactions. The reaction of the more bulky 1,2‐bis[(dimesitylphosphino)ethynyl]benzene 1c with (C6F5)3B takes a different course. At 110°, we observed the complete conversion to the benzopentafulvene derivative 8 which is probably formed in a typical carbocation rearrangement sequence after the initial (C6F5)3B Lewis acid‐addition step. The compounds 5a, 5b, 7b , and 8 were characterized by X‐ray crystal‐structure analyses.  相似文献

A series of propargyl amides were prepared and their reactions with the Lewis acidic compound B(C6F5)3 were investigated. These reactions were shown to afford novel heterocycles under mild conditions. The reaction of a variety of N‐substituted propargyl amides with B(C6F5)3 led to an intramolecular oxo‐boration cyclisation reaction, which afforded the 5‐alkylidene‐4,5‐dihydrooxazolium borate species. Secondary propargyl amides gave oxazoles in B(C6F5)3 mediated (catalytic) cyclisation reactions. In the special case of disubstitution adjacent to the nitrogen atom, 1,1‐carboboration is favoured as a result of the increased steric hindrance (1,3‐allylic strain) in the 5‐alkylidene‐4,5‐dihydrooxazolium borate species.  相似文献

The zirconocene complex [{(C6F5)2B‐(CH2)3‐Cp}(Cp‐PtBu2)ZrCl2] ( 6 ; Cp=cyclo‐C5H4) was prepared by hydroboration of [(allyl‐Cp)(Cp‐PtBu2)ZrCl2] ( 5 ) with HB(C6F5)2 (“Piers’ borane”). It represents a frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) in which both the Lewis acid and the Lewis base were attached at the metallocene framework. Its reaction with 1‐pentyne did not result in the 1,2‐addition of or deprotonation reaction by the FLP, but rather in the 1,1‐carboboration of the triple bond, thereby obtaining a Z/E mixture (1.2:1) of the respective organometallic substituted alkenes 7 . The analogous reaction of 1‐pentyne with the phosphorous‐free system [{(C6F5)2B‐(CH2)3‐Cp)}CpZrCl2] ( 9 ) gave the respective 1,1‐carboboration products ( Z‐10 / E‐10 ≈1.3:1).  相似文献

Hydroboration of the conjugated enynes 1 a and 1 b with Piers’ borane [HB(C6F5)2] gave the respective dienylboranes trans‐ 2 c and trans‐ 2 d . Their photolysis resulted in the formation of the dihydroborole products 3 c and 3 d . Both were converted to their pyridine adducts 5 c and 5 d , respectively. Compounds 3 c and 5 c,d were characterized by X‐ray diffraction. The reaction of the bis(enynyl)boranes 6 a and 6 b with B(C6F5)3 resulted in the formation of the dihydroboroles 7 a and 7 b , respectively. This reaction is thought to proceed by 1,1‐carboboration of one of the enynyl substituents at boron to generate the dienylborane intermediates 8 a / 8 b , followed by thermally induced bora‐Nazarov ring‐closure and subsequent stabilizing 1,2‐pentafluorophenyl group migration from boron to carbon. Compound 7 a was characterized by X‐ray diffraction and solid‐state 11B NMR spectroscopy.  相似文献

The bis(alkynyl)diisopropyl‐aminoboranes 7 were prepared by treatment of iPr2NBCl2 with two molar equivalents of 1‐pentynyl lithium or lithium phenylacetylenide, respectively. Their reaction with one molar equivalent of B(C6F5)3 resulted in the formation of the 1,1‐carboboration products 8 that were subsequently stabilized by adduct formation ( 9 ) with tert‐butyl isocyanide. Thermolysis of 8a (R=nPr) proceeded with hydride transfer from a N‐isopropyl substituent to the distal carbon atom of the remaining pentynyl unit at boron to give the zwitterionic five‐membered heterocyclic product 10a in good yield. The analogous product 10b (R=Ph) was obtained upon photolysis of 8b . The compounds 7b , 9b , 10a , and 10b were characterized by X‐ray crystal structure analysis.  相似文献

4,5‐Dimethyl‐1,2‐bis(1‐naphthylethynyl)benzene ( 12 ) undergoes a rapid multiple ring‐closure reaction upon treatment with the strong boron Lewis acid B(C6F5)3 to yield the multiply annulated, planar conjugated π‐system 13 (50 % yield). In the course of this reaction, a C6F5 group was transferred from boron to carbon. Treatment of 12 with CH3B(C6F5)2 proceeded similarly, giving a mixture of 13 (C6F5‐transfer) and the product 15 , which was formed by CH3‐group transfer. 1,2‐Bis(phenylethynyl)benzene ( 8 a ) reacts similarly with CH3B(C6F5)2 to yield a mixture of the respective C6F5‐ and CH3‐substituted dibenzopentalenes 10 a and 16 . The reaction is thought to proceed through zwitterionic intermediates that exhibit vinyl cation reactivities. Some B(C6F5)3‐substituted species ( 26 , 27 ) consequently formed by in situ deprotonation upon treatment of the respective 1,2‐bis(alkynyl)benzene starting materials ( 24 , 8 ) with the frustrated Lewis pair B(C6F5)3/P(o‐tolyl)3. The overall formation of the C6F5‐substituted products formally require HB(C6F5)2 cleavage in an intermediate dehydroboration step. This was confirmed in the reaction of a thienylethynyl‐containing starting material 21 with B(C6F5)3, which gave the respective annulated pentalene product 23 that had the HB(C6F5)2 moiety 1,4‐added to its thiophene ring. Compounds 12 – 14 , 23 , and 26 were characterized by X‐ray diffraction.  相似文献

A germylene/borane Lewis pair ( 2 ) was prepared from a 1,1‐carboboration of amidinato phenylethynylgermylene ( 1 ) by B(C6F5)3. Compound 2 reacted with iPrNCO and (4‐MeOC6H4)C(O)Me, respectively, with cleavage of the C=O double bond. In the first instance, O and iPrNC insert separately into the Ge?B bond to yield a GeBC2O‐heterocycle ( 3 ) and a GeBC3‐heterocycle ( 4 ). In the second case (4‐MeOC6H4)(Me)C inserts into the Ge?N bond of 2 while O is incorporated in the Ge?B bond to form a Ge‐centered spiroheterocycle ( 5 ). The reaction of 2 with tBuNC to give 6 , which has almost the same structure as 4 , proved the formation of the isonitrile during transformation from 2 and iPrNCO to 3 and 4 . The kinetic study of the reaction of 2 and iPrNCO gave evidence of proceeding through a GeBC3O‐heterocycle intermediate. In addition, a DFT study was performed to elucidate the reaction mechanism.  相似文献

The germylene species (CH{(CMe)(2,6-iPr2C6H3N)}2)GePCO 1 is shown to react with the Lewis acids (E(C6F5)3 E=B, Al). Nonetheless, 1 participates in FLP chemistry with electron deficient alkynes or olefins, acting as an intramolecular FLP. In contrast, in the presence of B(C6F5)3 and an electron rich alkyne, 1 behaves as Ge-based nucleophile to effect intermolecular FLP addition to the alkyne. This reactivity demonstrates that the reaction pathway is controlled by the nature of the electrophile and nucleophile generated in solution, as revealed by extensive DFT calculations.  相似文献

Diphenyldiazomethane reacts with HB(C6F5)2 and B(C6F5)3, resulting in 1,1‐hydroboration and adduct formation, respectively. The hydroboration proceeds via a concerted reaction involving initial formation of the Lewis adduct Ph2CN2BH(C6F5)2. The highly sensitive adduct Ph2CN2(B(C6F5)3) liberates N2 and generates Ph2CB(C6F5)3. DFT computations reveal that formation of Ph2CN2B(C6F5)3 from carbene, N2, and borane is thermodynamically favourable, suggesting steric frustration could preclude carbene–borane adduct formation and affect FLP‐N2 capture.  相似文献

We describe the reactivity of two linkage isomers of a boryl-phosphaethynolate, [B]OCP and [B]PCO (where [B]=N,N’-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-1,3,2-diazaboryl), towards tris- (pentafluorophenyl)borane (BCF). These reactions afforded three constitutional isomers all of which contain a phosphaalkene core. [B]OCP reacts with BCF through a 1,2 carboboration reaction to afford a novel phosphaalkene, E-[B]O{(C6F5)2B}C=P(C6F5), which subsequently undergoes a rearrangement process involving migration of both the boryloxy and pentafluorophenyl substituents to afford Z-{(C6F5)2B}(C6F5)C=PO[B]. By contrast, [B]PCO undergoes a 1,3-carboboration process accompanied by migration of the N,N’-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-1,3,2-diazaboryl to the carbon centre.  相似文献

The enantioselective ketimine–ene reaction is one of the most challenging stereocontrolled reaction types in organic synthesis. In this work, catalytic enantioselective ketimine–ene reactions of 2‐aryl‐3H‐indol‐3‐ones with α‐methylstyrenes were achieved by utilizing a B(C6F5)3/chiral phosphoric acid (CPA) catalyst. These ketimine–ene reactions proceed well with low catalyst loading (B(C6F5)3/CPA=2 mol %/2 mol %) under mild conditions, providing rapid and facile access to a series of functionalized 2‐allyl‐indolin‐3‐ones with very good reactivity (up to 99 % yield) and excellent enantioselectivity (up to 99 % ee). Theoretical calculations reveal that enhancement of the acidity of the chiral phosphoric acid by B(C6F5)3 significantly reduces the activation free energy barrier. Furthermore, collective favorable hydrogen‐bonding interactions, especially the enhanced N?H???O hydrogen‐bonding interaction, differentiates the free energy of the transition states of CPA and B(C6F5)3/CPA, thereby inducing the improvement of stereoselectivity.  相似文献

This work showcases a new catalytic cyclization reaction using a highly Lewis acidic borane with concomitant C−H or C−C bond formation. The activation of alkyne‐containing substrates with B(C6F5)3 enabled the first catalytic intramolecular cyclizations of carboxylic acid substrates using this Lewis acid. In addition, intramolecular cyclizations of esters enable C−C bond formation as catalytic B(C6F5)3 can be used to effect formal 1,5‐alkyl migrations from the ester functional groups to unsaturated carbon–carbon frameworks. This metal‐free method was used for the catalytic formation of complex dihydropyrones and isocoumarins in very good yields under relatively mild conditions with excellent atom efficiency.  相似文献

The frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) Mes2PCH2CH2B(C6F5)2 ( 1 ) reacts with an enolizable conjugated ynone by 1,4‐addition involving enolate tautomerization to give an eight‐membered zwitterionic heterocycle. The conjugated endione PhCO‐CH?CH‐COPh reacts with the intermolecular FLP tBu3P/B(C6F5)3 by a simple 1,4‐addition to an enone subunit. The same substrate undergoes a more complex reaction with the FLP 1 that involves internal acetal formation to give a heterobicyclic zwitterionic product. FLP 1 reacts with dimethyl maleate by selective overall addition to the C?C double bond to give a six‐membered heterocycle. It adds analogously to the triple bond of an acetylenic ester to give a similarly structured six‐membered heterocycle. The intermolecular FLP P(o‐tolyl)3/B(C6F5)3 reacts analogously with acetylenic ester by trans‐addition to the carbon–carbon triple bond. An excess of the intermolecular FLP tBu3P/B(C6F5)3, which contains a more nucleophilic phosphane, reacts differently with acetylenic ester examples, namely by O? C(alkyl) bond cleavage to give the {R‐CO2[B(C6F5)3]2?}[alkyl‐PtBu3+] salts. Simple aryl or alkyl esters react analogously by using the borane‐stabilized carboxylates as good leaving groups. All essential products were characterized by X‐ray diffraction.  相似文献

Dimethylamino‐(+)‐camphorenamine reacted with an equimolar amount of Piers’ borane, HB(C6F5)2, to give the corresponding iminium–hydroborate zwitterionic salt. Being in equilibrium with the parent enamine–HB(C6F5)2 N–B pair, this salt was able to split hydrogen heterolytically, hydrogenating the iminium group in the molecule. Detailed studies revealed that the hydrogen splitting in this reaction proceeded through an intermolecular pathway leading to a bornylamine–HB(C6F5)2 adduct. When the starting enamine is present in excess over HB(C6F5)2, the produced bornylamine–HB(C6F5)2 adduct breaks up, eliminating free bornylamine and forming the initial camphorenamine– HB(C6F5)2 pair. This results in hydrogenation of the camphorenamine framework in a catalytic fashion.  相似文献

The current work describes the synthesis and full characterization of zerovalent nickel complexes of the type [(dippe)Ni(η2C,C‐Fn‐alkyne)] (dippe=1,2‐bis(di‐isopropylphosphino‐ethane), Fn‐alkyne=fluorinated aromatic alkyne, n=1, 3, 5; 3a , 3b , 3c ) and [{(dippe)Ni}22C,C‐Fn‐alkyne)] ( 4 ). Reactions with complexes 3a , 3b , 3c , and water as the hydrogen source, yield selective semihydrogenation of the bound alkyne to the corresponding alkene, accompanied by partial hydrodefluorination of the aromatic ring. Different alkynes were tested; on using the alkyne with five fluorine atoms over the aromatic ring, partial defluorination was achieved under the mildest reaction conditions, followed in reactivity by the alkyne with three fluorine atoms. The alkyne with only one fluorine atom was barely defluorinated. The use of triethylsilane as a sacrificial hydride source resulted in an overall increase in reactivity towards defluorination.  相似文献

This report describes the first Pd0‐catalyzed cross‐coupling of hexafluorobenzene (C6F6) with diarylzinc compounds to give a variety of pentafluorophenyl arenes. This reaction could be applied to other perfluoroarenes, such as octafluorotoluene, pentafluoropyridine, and perfluoronaphthalene, to give the corresponding polyfluorinated coupling products. The optimal ligand in this catalytic reaction was PCy3, and lithium iodide was indispensable as an additive for the coupling reaction. One of the roles of lithium iodide in this catalytic reaction was to promote the oxidative addition of one C?F bond of C6F6 to palladium. Stoichiometric reactions revealed that an expected oxidative‐addition product, trans‐[Pd(C6F5)I(PCy3)2], generated from the reaction of [Pd(PCy3)2] with C6F6 in the presence of lithium iodide, was not involved in the catalytic cycle. Instead, a transient three‐coordinate, monophosphine‐ligated species, [Pd(C6F5)I(PCy3)], emerged as a potential intermediate in the catalytic cycle. Therefore, we isolated a novel PdII complex, [Pd(C6F5)I(PCy3)(py)], in which pyridine (py) acted as a labile ligand to generate the transient species. In fact, in the presence of lithium iodide, this PdII complex was found to react smoothly with diphenylzinc to give the desired pentafluorophenyl benzene, whereas the same reaction conducted in the absence of lithium iodide resulted in a decreased yield of pentafluorophenyl benzene, which indicated that the other role of lithium iodide was to enhance the reactivity of the organozinc species during the transmetalation step.  相似文献

S‐Nitrosothiols (RSNOs) serve as air‐stable reservoirs for nitric oxide in biology. While copper enzymes promote NO release from RSNOs by serving as Lewis acids for intramolecular electron‐transfer, redox‐innocent Lewis acids separate these two functions to reveal the effect of coordination on structure and reactivity. The synthetic Lewis acid B(C6F5)3 coordinates to the RSNO oxygen atom, leading to profound changes in the RSNO electronic structure and reactivity. Although RSNOs possess relatively negative reduction potentials, B(C6F5)3 coordination increases their reduction potential by over 1 V into the physiologically accessible +0.1 V vs. NHE. Outer‐sphere chemical reduction gives the Lewis acid stabilized hyponitrite dianion trans‐[LA‐O‐N=N‐O‐LA]2? [LA=B(C6F5)3], which releases N2O upon acidification. Mechanistic and computational studies support initial reduction to the [RSNO‐B(C6F5)3] radical anion, which is susceptible to N?N coupling prior to loss of RSSR.  相似文献
