Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are a class of promising materials for diverse heterogeneous catalysis, but they are usually not directly employed for oxygen evolution electrocatalysis. Most reports focus on using MOFs as templates to in situ create efficient electrocatalysts through annealing. Herein, we prepared a series of Fe/Ni‐based trimetallic MOFs (Fe/Ni/Co(Mn)‐MIL‐53 accordingly to the Material of Institute Lavoisier) by solvothermal synthesis, which can be directly adopted as highly efficient electrocatalysts. The Fe/Ni/Co(Mn)‐MIL‐53 shows a volcano‐type oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity as a function of compositions. The optimized Fe/Ni2.4/Co0.4‐MIL‐53 can reach a current density of 20 mA cm?2 at low overpotential of 236 mV with a small Tafel slope of 52.2 mV dec?1. In addition, the OER performance of these MOFs can be further enhanced by directly being grown on nickel foam (NF).  相似文献

Non‐noble metal‐based metal–organic framework (MOF)‐derived electrocatalysts have recently attracted great interest in the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Here we report a facile synthesis of nickel‐based bimetallic electrocatalysts derived from 2D nanosheet‐assembled nanoflower‐like MOFs. The optimized morphologies and large Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area endow FeNi@CNF with efficient OER performance, where the aligned nanosheets can expose abundant active sites and benefit electron transfer. The complex nanoflower morphologies together with the synergistic effects between two metals attributed to the OER activity of the Ni‐based bimetallic catalysts. The optimized FeNi@CNF afforded an overpotential of 356 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm?2 with a Tafel slope of 62.6 mV dec?1, and also exhibited superior durability with only slightly degradation after 24 hours of continuous operation. The results may inspire the use of complex nanosheet‐assembled nanostructures to explore highly active catalysts for various applications.  相似文献

Chiral metal–organic framework (CMOF) nanosheets only a few layers thick remain a virgin land waiting for exploration. Herein, the first examples of ultrathin CMOF nanosheets are prepared by the confinement growth of two‐dimensional (2D) chiral layers, which are assembled by helical metal–organic chains within microemulsion. This convenient and easily scaled up inverse microemulsion method gives a series of 2D CMOF nanosheets composed of variable metal nodes or chiral ligands. More significantly, thanks to the exceptionally large number of chiral sites exposed on surfaces, the as‐obtained CMOF nanosheets exhibit much higher enantioselectivity in chiral separation compared with their bulk counterparts.  相似文献

The blood–brain barrier (BBB) restricts access to the brain of more than 98 % of therapeutic agents and is largely responsible for treatment failure of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). Therefore, it is of great importance to develop a safe and efficient strategy for more effective drug delivery across the BBB into the brain. Inspired by the extraordinary capability of rabies virus (RABV) to enter the central nervous system, we report the development and evaluation of the metal–organic framework‐based nanocarrier MILB@LR, which closely mimicked both the bullet‐shape structure and surface functions of natural RABV. MILB@LR benefited from a more comprehensive RABV‐mimic strategy than mimicking individual features of RABV and exhibited significantly enhanced BBB penetration and brain tumor targeting. MILB@LR also displayed superior inhibition of tumor growth when loaded with oxaliplatin. The results demonstrated that MILB@LR may be valuable for GBM targeting and treatment.  相似文献

We present a systematic study of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) for the storage of oxygen. The study starts with grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations on a suite of 10 000 MOFs for the adsorption of oxygen. From these data, the MOFs were down selected to the prime candidates of HKUST‐1 (Cu‐BTC) and NU‐125, both with coordinatively unsaturated Cu sites. Oxygen isotherms up to 30 bar were measured at multiple temperatures to determine the isosteric heat of adsorption for oxygen on each MOF by fitting to a Toth isotherm model. High pressure (up to 140 bar) oxygen isotherms were measured for HKUST‐1 and NU‐125 to determine the working capacity of each MOF. Compared to the zeolite NaX and Norit activated carbon, NU‐125 has an increased excess capacity for oxygen of 237 % and 98 %, respectively. These materials could ultimately prove useful for oxygen storage in medical, military, and aerospace applications.  相似文献

Two‐dimensional (2D) materials and ultrathin nanosheets are advantageous for elevating the catalysis performance and elucidating the catalysis mechanism of heterogeneous catalysts, but they are mostly restricted to inorganic or organic materials based on covalent bonds. We report an electrochemical/chemical exfoliation strategy for synthesizing metal–organic 2D materials based on coordination bonds. A catechol functionalized ligand is used as the redox active pillar to construct a pillared‐layer framework. When the 3D pillared‐layer MOF serves as an electrocatalyst for water oxidation (pH 13), the pillar ligands can be oxidized in situ and removed. The remaining ultrathin (2 nm) nanosheets of the metal–organic layers are an efficient catalyst with overpotentials as low as 211 mV at 10 mA cm?2 and a turnover frequency as high as 30 s?1 at an overpotential of 300 mV.  相似文献

Facile preparation of low-cost electrocatalysts for efficient oxygen evolution reaction (OER) remains a big challenge. Herein, a novel strategy for ultrafast (20 s) transformation of bulk metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) into ultrathin metal oxyhydroxide nanosheets for efficient OER has been developed. For two isomeric MOFs ( FJI-H25Fe and FJI-H25FeCo ), only the metastable FJI-H25FeCo bulk can immediately transform into FeCo-oxyhydroxides nanosheets through electric-field assisted hydrolysis. The potential evolution process from MOF bulk to FeCo-oxyhydroxides nanosheets has been investigated in detail. The as-made nanosheets exhibit excellent OER performances, showing an extremely low overpotential of 231 mV at the current density of 10 mA cm−2, a relatively small Tafel slope of 42 mV dec−1, and long-term durability of at least 30 h. This work not only provides a novel strategy for facile preparation of low-cost and efficient OER electrocatalysts, but also represents a new way for preparation of metal oxyhydroxides nanosheets with good crystallinity and morphology, and a fresh method for mild synthesis of nanosized derivatives from MOF materials.  相似文献

Circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) is attractive in understanding the excited‐state chirality and developing advanced materials. Herein, we propose a chiral reticular self‐assembly strategy to unite achiral AIEgens, chirality donors, and metal ions to fabricate optically pure AIEgen metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) as efficient CPL materials. We have found that CPL activity of the single‐crystal AIEgen MOF was generated by the framework‐enabled strong emission from AIEgens and through‐space chirality transfer from chirality donors to achiral AIEgens via metal‐ion bridges. For the first time, a dual mechano‐switched blue and red‐shifted CPL activity was achieved via ultrasonication and grinding, which enabled the rotation or stacking change of AIEgen rotors with the intact homochiral framework. This work provided not only an insightful view of the aggregation induced emission (AIE) mechanism, but also an efficient and versatile strategy for the preparation of stimuli‐responsive CPL materials.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and their derivatives are considered as promising catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER), which are important for many energy provision technologies, such as electrolyzers, fuel cells and some types of advanced batteries. In this work, a “strain modulation” approach has been applied through the use of surface‐mounted NiFe‐MOFs in order to design an advanced bifunctional ORR/OER electrocatalyst. The material exhibits an excellent OER activity in alkaline media, reaching an industrially relevant current density of 200 mA cm?2 at an overpotential of only ≈210 mV. It demonstrates operational long‐term stability even at a high current density of 500 mA cm?2 and exhibits the so far narrowest “overpotential window” ΔEORR‐OER of 0.69 V in 0.1 m KOH with a mass loading being two orders of magnitude lower than that of benchmark electrocatalysts.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) provide a tunable platform for hierarchically integrating multiple components to effect synergistic functions that cannot be achieved in solution. Here we report the encapsulation of a Ni‐containing polyoxometalate (POM) [Ni4(H2O)2(PW9O34)2]10? ( Ni4P2 ) into two highly stable and porous phosphorescent MOFs. The proximity of Ni4P2 to multiple photosensitizers in Ni4P2 @MOF allows for facile multi‐electron transfer to enable efficient visible‐light‐driven hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) with turnover numbers as high as 1476. Photophysical and electrochemical studies established the oxidative quenching of the excited photosensitizer by Ni4P2 as the initiating step of HER and explained the drastic catalytic activity difference of the two POM@MOFs. Our work shows that POM@MOF assemblies not only provide a tunable platform for designing highly effective photocatalytic HER catalysts but also facilitate detailed mechanistic understanding of HER processes.  相似文献

Understanding the driving forces controlling crystallization is essential for the efficient synthesis and design of new materials, particularly metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), where mild solvothermal synthesis often allows access to various phases from the same reagents. Using high‐energy in situ synchrotron X‐ray powder diffraction, we monitor the crystallization of lithium tartrate MOFs, observing the successive crystallization and dissolution of three competing phases in one reaction. By determining rate constants and activation energies, we fully quantify the reaction energy landscape, gaining important predictive power for the choice of reaction conditions. Different reaction rates are explained by the structural relationships between the products and the reactants; larger changes in conformation result in higher activation energies. The methods we demonstrate can easily be applied to other materials, opening the door to a greater understanding of crystallization in general.  相似文献

Electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 to a single product at high current densities and efficiencies remains a challenge. However, the conventional electrode preparation methods, such as drop‐casting, usually suffer from low intrinsic activity. Herein, we report a synthesis strategy for preparing heterogeneous electrocatalyst composed of 3D hierarchical Cu dendrites that derived from an in situ electrosynthesized hollow copper metal–organic framework (MOF), for which the preparation of the Cu‐MOF film took only 5 min. The synthesis strategy preferentially exposes active sites, which favor's the reduction of CO2 to formate. The current density could be as high as 102.1 mA cm?2 with a selectivity of 98.2 % in ionic‐liquid‐based electrolyte and a commonly used H‐type cell.  相似文献

Versatility in metal substitution is one of the key aspects of metal‐organic framework (MOF) chemistry, allowing properties to be tuned in a rational way. As a result, it important to understand why MOF syntheses involving different metals arrive at or fail to produce the same topological outcome. Frequently, conditions are tuned by trial‐and‐error to make MOFs with different metal species. We ask: is it possible to adjust synthetic conditions in a systematic way in order to design routes to desired phases? We have used in situ X‐ray powder diffraction to study the solvothermal formation of isostructural M2(bdc)2dabco (M=Zn, Co, Ni) pillared‐paddlewheel MOFs in real time. The metal ion strongly influences both kinetics and intermediates observed, leading in some cases to multiphase reaction profiles of unprecedented complexity. The standard models used for MOF crystallization break down in these cases; we show that a simple kinetic model describes the data and provides important chemical insights on phase selection.  相似文献

A porous metal–organic framework, Mn(H3O)[(Mn4Cl)3(hmtt)8] (POST‐65), was prepared by the reaction of 5,5′,10,10′,15,15′‐hexamethyltruxene‐2,7,12‐tricarboxylic acid (H3hmtt) with MnCl2 under solvothermal conditions. POST‐65(Mn) was subjected to post‐synthetic modification with Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu according to an ion‐exchange method that resulted in the formation of three isomorphous frameworks, POST‐65(Co/Ni/Cu), as well as a new framework, POST‐65(Fe). The ion‐exchanged samples could not be prepared by regular solvothermal reactions. The complete exchange of the metal ions and retention of the framework structure were verified by inductively coupled plasma–atomic emission spectrometry (ICP‐AES), powder X‐ray diffraction (PXRD), and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface‐area analysis. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffractions studies revealed a single‐crystal‐to‐single‐crystal (SCSC)‐transformation nature of the ion‐exchange process. Hydrogen‐sorption and magnetization measurements showed metal‐specific properties of POST‐65.  相似文献

Many sophisticated chemical and physical properties of porous materials strongly rely on the presence of the metal ions within the structures. Whereas homogeneous distribution of metals is conveniently realized in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), the limited stability potentially restricts their practical implementation. From that perspective, the development of metal–covalent organic frameworks (MCOFs) may address these shortcomings by incorporating active metal species atop highly stable COF backbones. This Minireview highlights examples of MCOFs that tackle important issues from their design, synthesis, characterization to cutting‐edge applications.  相似文献

Nanoscale metal–organic frameworks (nanoMOFs) are promising porous nanomaterials for diverse applications, such as catalysis, imaging, functional membranes, and drug delivery. At the nanoscale, the size of materials is critical for their properties and utility. Herein, a straightforward and convenient strategy is developed for size precisely controlled synthesis of nanoMOFs. Unlike other approaches, this strategy can directly give nanoMOFs of predicable sizes within a wide range without the time consuming trial‐and‐error process and without the addition of additives. In this approach, the preciseness of size control is ensured by the separated and controlled nucleation and growth. The size controlled synthesis of 9 kinds of most widely studied nanoMOFs confirms the versatility of this strategy. More importantly, this approach can be utilized for scale‐up synthesis of nanoMOFs with the same precise size control.  相似文献

Post‐synthetic ligand exchange in the prototypical zirconium‐based metal–organic framework (MOF) UiO‐66 was investigated by in situ solution 1H NMR spectroscopy. Samples of UiO‐66 having different degrees of defectivity were exchanged using solutions of several terephthalic acid analogues in a range of conditions. Linker exchange only occurred in defect‐free UiO‐66, whereas monocarboxylates grafted at defect sites were found to be preferentially exchanged with respect to terephthalic acid over the whole range of conditions investigated. A 1:1 exchange ratio between the terephthalic acid analogue and modulator was observed, providing evidence that the defects had missing‐cluster nature. Ex situ characterisation of the MOF powders after exchange corroborated these findings and showed that the physical‐chemical properties of the MOF depend on whether the functionalisation occurs at defective sites or on the framework.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of a set of 2D metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) constructed with organosilicon‐based linkers. These oligosilyl MOFs feature linear SinMe2n(C6H4CO2H)2 ligands (lin‐Sin, n=2, 4) connected by Cu paddlewheels. The stacking arrangement of the 2D sheets is dictated by van der Waals interactions and is tunable by solvent exchange, leading to reversible structural transformations between many crystalline and amorphous phases.  相似文献

Herein, we developed a partially controlled pyrolysis strategy to create evenly distributed NiO nanoparticles within NiFe‐MOF nanosheets (MOF NSs) for electrochemical synthesis of H2O2 by a two‐electron oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). The elemental Ni can be partially transformed to NiO and uniformly distributed on the surface of the MOF NSs, which is crucial for the formation of the particular structure. The optimized MOF NSs‐300 exhibits the highest activity for ORR with near‐zero overpotential and excellent H2O2 selectivity (ca. 99 %) in 0.1 m KOH solution. A high‐yield H2O2 production rate of 6.5 mol gcat?1 h?1 has also been achieved by MOF NSs‐300 in 0.1 m KOH and at 0.6 V (vs. RHE). In contrast to completely pyrolyzed products, the enhanced catalytic activities of partially pyrolyzed MOF NSs‐300 originates mainly from the retained MOF structure and the newly generated NiO nanoparticles, forming the coordinatively unsaturated Ni atoms and tuning the performance towards electrochemical H2O2 synthesis.  相似文献
