Three lanthanide‐based two‐dimensional (2D) coordination polymers (CPs), [Ln(L)(H2O)2]n, {H3L=(HO)2P(O)CH2CO2H; Ln=Dy3+ (CP 1 ), Er3+ (CP 2 )} and [{Gd2(L)2(H2O)3}.H2O]n, (CP 3 ) were hydrothermally synthesized using phosphonoacetic acid as a linker. Structural features revealed that the dinuclear Ln3+ nodes were present in the 2D sheet of CP 1 and CP 2 while in the case of CP 3 , nodes were further connected to each other forming a chain‐type arrangement throughout the network. The magnetic studies show field‐induced slow magnetic relaxation property in CP 1 and CP 2 with Ueff values of 72 K (relaxation time, τ0=3.05×10?7 s) and 38.42 K (relaxation time, τ0=4.60×10?8 s) respectively. Ab‐initio calculations suggest that the g tensor of Kramers doublet of the lanthanide ion (Dy3+ and Er3+) is strongly axial in nature which reflects in the slow magnetic relaxation behavior of both CPs. CP 3 exhibits a significant magnetocaloric effect with ?ΔSm=49.29 J kg?1 K?1, one of the highest value among the reported 2D CPs. Moreover, impedance analysis of all the CPs show high proton conductivity with values of 1.13×10?6 S cm?1, 2.73×10?3 S cm?1 and 2, 6.27×10?6 S cm?1 for CPs 1 – 3 , respectively, at high temperature (>75 °C) and maximum 95 % relative humidity (RH).  相似文献

We report the first f-block-ruthenocenophane complexes 1 (Dy) and 2 (Tb) and provide a comparative discussion of their magnetic structure with respect to earlier reported ferrocenophane analogues. While axial elongation of the rare trigonal-prismatic geometry stabilizes the magnetic ground state in the case of Dy3+ and results in a larger barrier to magnetization reversal (U), a decrease in U is observed for the case of Tb3+.  相似文献

Two novel trinuclear complexes [ZnCl(μ‐L)Ln(μ‐L)ClZn][ZnCl3(CH3OH)]?3 CH3OH (LnIII=Dy ( 1 ) and Er ( 2 )) have been prepared from the compartmental ligand N,N′‐dimethyl‐N,N′‐bis(2‐hydroxy‐3‐formyl‐5‐bromo‐benzyl)ethylenediamine (H2L). X‐ray studies reveal that LnIII ions are coordinated by two [ZnCl(L)]? units through the phenoxo and aldehyde groups, giving rise to a LnO8 coordination sphere with square‐antiprism geometry and strong easy‐axis anisotropy of the ground state. Ab initio CASSCF+RASSI calculations carried out on 1 confirm that the ground state is an almost pure MJ=±15/2 Kramers doublet with a marked axial anisotropy, the magnetic moment is roughly collinear with the shortest Dy?O distances. This orientation of the local magnetic moment of the DyIII ion in 1 is adopted to reduce the electronic repulsion between the oblate electron shape of the MJ=±15/2 Kramers doublet and the phenoxo‐oxygen donor atoms involved in the shortest Dy?O bonds. CASSCF+RASSI calculations also show that the ground and first excited states of the DyIII ion are separated by 129 cm?1. As expected for this large energy gap, compound 1 exhibits, in a zero direct‐current field, thermally activated slow relaxation of the magnetization with a large Ueff=140 K. The isostructural Zn–Er–Zn species does not present significant SMM behavior as expected for the prolate electron‐density distribution of the ErIII ion leading to an easy‐plane anisotropy of the ground doublet state.  相似文献

Two new arene inverted‐sandwich complexes of uranium supported by siloxide ancillary ligands [K{U(OSi(OtBu)3)3}2(μ‐η66‐C7H8)] ( 3 ) and [K2{U(OSi(OtBu)3)3}2(μ‐η66‐C7H8)] ( 4 ) were synthesized by the reduction of the parent arene‐bridged complex [{U(OSi(OtBu)3)3}2(μ‐η66‐C7H8)] ( 2 ) with stoichiometric amounts of KC8 yielding a rare family of inverted‐sandwich complexes in three states of charge. The structural data and computational studies of the electronic structure are in agreement with the presence of high‐valent uranium centers bridged by a reduced tetra‐anionic toluene with the best formulation being UV–(arene4?)–UV, KUIV–(arene4?)–UV, and K2UIV–(arene4?)–UIV for complexes 2 , 3 , and 4 respectively. The potassium cations in complexes 3 and 4 are coordinated to the siloxide ligands both in the solid state and in solution. The addition of KOTf (OTf=triflate) to the neutral compound 2 promotes its disproportionation to yield complexes 3 and 4 (depending on the stoichiometry) and the UIV mononuclear complex [U(OSi(OtBu)3)3(OTf)(thf)2] ( 5 ). This unprecedented reactivity demonstrates the key role of potassium for the stability of these complexes.  相似文献

Novel 4‐hydroxyquinoline (4HQ) based tautomeric switches are reported. 4HQs equipped with coordinative side arms (8‐arylimino and 3‐piperidin‐1‐ylmethyl groups) were synthesized to access O or N‐selective chelation of Zn2+ and Cd2+ ions by 4HQ. In the case of the monodentate arylimino group, O chelation of metal ions induces concomitant switching of phenol tautomer to the keto form in nonpolar or aprotic media. This change is accompanied by selective and highly sensitive fluorometric sensing of Zn2+ ions. In the case of the bidentate 8‐(quinolin‐8‐ylimino)methyl side arm, NMR studies in CD3OD indicated that both Cd2+ and Zn2+ ions afford N chelation for 4HQ, coexisting with tautomeric switching from quinolin‐4(1H)‐one to quinolin‐4‐olate. In corroboration, UV/Vis‐monitored metal‐ion titrations in toluene and methanol implied similar structural changes. Additionally, fluorescence measurements indicated that the metal‐triggered tautomeric switching is associated with compound signaling properties. The results are supported by DFT calculations at the B3LYP 6‐31G* level. Several X‐ray structures of metal‐free and metal‐chelating 4HQ are presented to support the solution studies.  相似文献

Two series of isostructural C3‐symmetric Ln3 complexes Ln3 ? [BPh4] and Ln3 ? 0.33[Ln(NO3)6] (in which LnIII=Gd and Dy) have been prepared from an amino‐bis(phenol) ligand. X‐ray studies reveal that LnIII ions are connected by one μ2‐phenoxo and two μ3‐methoxo bridges, thus leading to a hexagonal bipyramidal Ln3O5 bridging core in which LnIII ions exhibit a biaugmented trigonal‐prismatic geometry. Magnetic susceptibility studies and ab initio complete active space self‐consistent field (CASSCF) calculations indicate that the magnetic coupling between the DyIII ions, which possess a high axial anisotropy in the ground state, is very weakly antiferromagnetic and mainly dipolar in nature. To reduce the electronic repulsion from the coordinating oxygen atom with the shortest Dy?O distance, the local magnetic moments are oriented almost perpendicular to the Dy3 plane, thus leading to a paramagnetic ground state. CASSCF plus restricted active space state interaction (RASSI) calculations also show that the ground and first excited state of the DyIII ions are separated by approximately 150 and 177 cm?1, for Dy3 ? [BPh4] and Dy3 ? 0.33[Dy(NO3)6], respectively. As expected for these large energy gaps, Dy3 ? [BPh4] and Dy3 ? 0.33[Dy(NO3)6] exhibit, under zero direct‐current (dc) field, thermally activated slow relaxation of the magnetization, which overlap with a quantum tunneling relaxation process. Under an applied Hdc field of 1000 Oe, Dy3 ? [BPh4] exhibits two thermally activated processes with Ueff values of 34.7 and 19.5 cm?1, whereas Dy3 ? 0.33[Dy(NO3)6] shows only one activated process with Ueff=19.5 cm?1.  相似文献

Magnetic dipole interactions are dominate in quasi one‐dimensional (1D) molecular magnetic materials, in which TbNcPc units (Tb3+=terbium(III) ion, Nc2?=naphthalocyaninato, Pc2?=phthalocyaninato) adopt a structure similar to TbPc2 single‐molecule magnets (SMMs). The magnetic properties of the [TbNcPc]0/+ (neutral 1 and cationic 2 ) with 1D structures are significantly different from those of a magnetically diluted sample ( 3 ). In particular, the magnetic relaxation time (τ) of 2 in the low‐temperature region is five orders of magnitude slower than that of 3 . Furthermore, the coercivity (HC) of 2 remained up to about 20 K. The single‐ion anisotropy of Tb3+ ions in a 1D structure and the magnetic dipole interactions acting among molecules determines the direction of the magnetic properties. These results show that the spin dynamics can be improved by manipulating the arrangement of SMMs in the solid state.  相似文献

Three new Dy complexes have been prepared according to a complex‐as‐ligand strategy. Structural determinations indicate that the central Dy ion is surrounded by two LZn units (L2? is the di‐deprotonated form of the N2O2 compartmental N,N′‐2,2‐dimethylpropylenedi(3‐methoxysalicylideneiminato) Schiff base. The Dy ions are nonacoordinate to eight oxygen atoms from the two L ligands and to a water molecule. The Zn ions are pentacoordinate in all cases, linked to the N2O2 atoms from L, and the apical position of the Zn coordination sphere is occupied by a water molecule or bromide or chloride ions. These resulting complexes, formulated (LZnX)‐Dy‐(LZnX), are tricationic with X=H2O and monocationic with X=Br or Cl. They behave as field‐free single‐molecule magnets (SMMs) with effective energy barriers (Ueff) for the reversal of the magnetization of 96.9(6) K with τ0=2.4×10?7 s, 146.8(5) K with τ0=9.2×10?8 s, and 146.1(10) K with τ0=9.9×10?8 s for compounds with Zn?OH2, Zn?Br, and Zn?Cl motifs, respectively. The Cole–Cole plots exhibit semicircular shapes with α parameters in the range of 0.19 to 0.29, which suggests multiple relaxation processes. Under a dc applied magnetic field of 1000 Oe, the quantum tunneling of magnetization (QTM) is partly or fully suppressed and the energy barriers increase to Ueff=128.6(5) K and τ0=1.8×10?8 s for 1 , Ueff=214.7 K and τ0=9.8×10?9 s for 2 , and Ueff=202.4 K and τ0=1.5×10?8 s for 3 . The two pairs of largely negatively charged phenoxido oxygen atoms with short Dy?O bonds are positioned at opposite sides of the Dy3+ ion, which thus creates a strong crystal field that stabilizes the axial MJ=±15/2 doublet as the ground Kramers doublet. Although the compound with the Zn?OH2 motifs possesses the larger negative charges on the phenolate oxygen atoms, as confirmed by using DFT calculations, it exhibits the larger distortions of the DyO9 coordination polyhedron from ideal geometries and a smaller Ueff value. Ab initio calculations support the easy‐axis anisotropy of the ground Kramers doublet and predict zero‐field SMM behavior through Orbach and TA‐QTM relaxations via the first excited Kramers doublet, which leads to large energy barriers. In accordance with the experimental results, ab initio calculations have also shown that, compared with water, the peripheral halide ligands coordinated to the Zn2+ ions increase the barrier height when the distortions of the DyO9 have a negative effect. All the complexes exhibit metal‐centered luminescence after excitation into the UV π–π* absorption band of ligand L2? at λ=335 nm, which results in the appearance of the characteristic DyIII (4F9/26HJ/2; J=15/2, 13/2) emission bands in the visible region.  相似文献

We prepared and isolated a phenalenyl‐based neutral hydrocarbon ( 1 b ) with a biradical index of 14 %, as well as its charge‐transfer (CT) complex 1 b –F4‐TCNQ. The crystal structure and the small HOMO–LUMO gap assessed by electrochemical and optical methods support the singlet‐biradical contribution to the ground state of the neutral 1 b . This biradical character suggests that 1 b has the electronic structure of phenalenyl radicals coupled weakly through an acetylene linker, that is, some independence of the two phenalenyl moieties. The monocationic species 1 b. + was obtained by reaction with the organic electron acceptor F4‐TCNQ. The cationic species has a small disproportionation energy ΔE for the reaction 2× 1 b. +? 1 b + 1 b 2+, which presumably originates from the independence of the phenalenyl moieties. The small ΔE led to a small on‐site Coulombic repulsion Ueff=0.61 eV in the CT complex. Moreover, a very effective orbital overlap of the phenalenyl rings between molecules afforded a relatively large transfer integral t=0.09 eV. The small Ueff/4t ratio (=1.7) resulted in a metallic‐like conductive behavior at around room temperature. Below 280 K, the CT complex showed a transition into a semiconductive state as a result of bond formation between phenalenyl and F4‐TCNQ carbon atoms.  相似文献

We theoretically design four diaza‐benzo[k]tetraphene‐based diradical isomers ( 1, 2, 3 , and 4 ) with two nitroxide (NO) radical groups as spin sources. The calculations at the B3LYP/6‐311++G(d,p) level suggest that the diaza doping can induce the aromaticity changes and the C C bond rearrangements and, thus, remarkably affect their magnetic coupling magnitudes and even characteristics (ferromagnetic vs. antiferromagnetic). More interestingly, different diaza‐doping positions can lead to distinctly different effects, and further dielectron‐oxidation can also noticeably change the magnetic coupling magnitudes from −919.9 cm−1 ( 1 ) to −158.3 cm−1 ( 1 2+ ) or from −105.1 cm−1 ( 3 ) to −918.9 cm−1 ( 3 2+ ) or induce the magnetic conversions from nonmagnetism ( 2 ) to antiferromagnetism ( 2 2+ , −140.1 cm−1) or from ferromagnetism ( 4 , 108.9 cm−1) to antiferromagnetism ( 4 2+ , −462.5 cm−1). Good matching of two singly occupied molecular orbitals (SOMOs) of the NO groups with the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) of the coupler (for 1 ), or with the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) of the coupler (for 3 2+ and 4 2+ ), available Kekulé structure (for 2 ), aromaticity variations are responsible to strong magnetic couplings. Besides, the HOMO‐LUMO energy gaps of the couplers also considerably affect the magnetic couplings. This work may open a new route for the rational design of the diaza‐benzo[k]tetraphene‐based magnetic molecular modulators or switches.  相似文献

The electronic and magnetic structures of tetragonal, Cu2Sb‐type CrMnAs were examined using density functional theory. To obtain reasonable agreement with reported atomic and low‐temperature magnetic ordering in this compound, the intra‐atomic electron–electron correlation in term of Hubbard U on Mn atoms are necessary. Using GGA + U, calculations identify four low‐energy antiferromagnetically ordered structures, all of which adopt a magnetic unit cell that contains the same direct Cr Cr and Cr Mn magnetic interaction, as well as the same indirect Mn⋅⋅⋅Mn magnetic interaction across the Cr planes. One of these low‐energy configurations corresponds to the reported case. Effective exchange parameters for metal–metal contacts obtained from SPRKKR calculations indicate both direct and indirect exchange couplings play important roles in tetragonal CrMnAs. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

Above‐room‐temperature polar magnets are of interest due to their practical applications in spintronics. Here we present a strategy to design high‐temperature polar magnetic oxides in the corundum‐derived A2BB′O6 family, exemplified by the non‐centrosymmetric (R3) Ni3TeO6‐type Mn2+2Fe3+Mo5+O6, which shows strong ferrimagnetic ordering with TC=337 K and demonstrates structural polarization without any ions with (n?1)d10ns0, d0, or stereoactive lone‐pair electrons. Density functional theory calculations confirm the experimental results and suggest that the energy of the magnetically ordered structure, based on the Ni3TeO6 prototype, is significantly lower than that of any related structure, and accounts for the spontaneous polarization (68 μC cm?2) and non‐centrosymmetry confirmed directly by second harmonic generation. These results motivate new directions in the search for practical magnetoelectric/multiferroic materials.  相似文献

The synthesis of new molecular complexes of U2+ has been pursued to make comparisons in structure, physical properties, and reactivity with the first U2+ complex, [K(2.2.2‐cryptand)][Cp′3U], 1 (Cp′=C5H4SiMe3). Reduction of Cp′′3U [Cp′′=C5H3(SiMe3)2] with KC8 in the presence of 2.2.2‐cryptand or 18‐crown‐6 generates [K(2.2.2‐cryptand)][Cp′′3U], 2‐K(crypt) , or [K(18‐crown‐6)(THF)2][Cp′′3U], 2‐K(18c6) , respectively. The UV/Vis spectra of 2‐K and 1 are similar, and they are much more intense than those of U3+ analogues. Variable temperature magnetic susceptibility data for 1 and 2‐K(crypt) reveal lower room temperature χMT values relative to the experimental values for the 5f3 U3+ precursors. Stability studies monitored by UV/Vis spectroscopy show that 2‐K(crypt) and 2‐K(18c6) have t1/2 values of 20 and 15 h at room temperature, respectively, vs. 1.5 h for 1 . Complex 2‐K(18c6) reacts with H2 or PhSiH3 to form the uranium hydride, [K(18‐crown‐6)(THF)2][Cp′′3UH], 3 . Complexes 1 and 2‐K(18c6) both reduce cyclooctatetraene to form uranocene, (C8H8)2U, as well as the U3+ byproducts [K(2.2.2‐cryptand)][Cp′4U], 4 , and Cp′′3U, respectively.  相似文献

The ex‐situ qualitative study of the kinetic formation of the poly‐oxo cluster U38, has been investigated after the solvothermal reaction. The resulting products have been characterized by means of powder XRD and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for the solid phase and UV/Vis, X‐ray absorption near edge structure (XANES), extended X‐ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS), and NMR spectroscopies for the supernatant liquid phase. The analysis of the different synthesis batches, stopped at different reaction times, revealed the formation of spherical crystallites of UO2 from t=3 h, after the formation of unknown solid phases at an early stage. The crystallization of U38 occurred from t=4 h at the expense of UO2, and is completed after t=8 h. Starting from pure uranium(IV) species in solution (t=0–1 h), oxidation reactions are observed with a UIV/UVI ratio of 70:30 for t=1–3 h. Then, the ratio is inversed with a UIV/UVI ratio of 25/75, when the precipitation of UO2 occurs. Thorough SEM observations of the U38 crystallites showed that the UO2 aggregates are embedded within. This may indicate that UO2 acts as reservoir of uranium(IV), for the formation of U38, stabilized by benzoate and THF ligands. During the early stages of the U38 crystallization, a transient crystallized phase appeared at t=4 h. Its crystal structure revealed a new dodecanuclear moiety (U12), based on the inner hexanuclear core of {U6O8} type, decorated by three additional pairs of dinuclear U2 units. The U12 motif is stabilized by benzoate, oxalates, and glycolate ligands.  相似文献

The reaction of 4‐(1,2,4‐triazol‐4‐yl)ethanesulfonate ( L ) with Zn2+, Cu2+, Ni2+, Co2+, and Fe2+ gave a series of analogous neutral trinuclear complexes with the formula [M3(μ‐ L )6(H2O)6] ( 1 – 5 ). These compounds were characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction, thermogravimetry, and elemental analysis. The magnetic properties of compounds 2 – 5 were studied. Complexes 2 – 4 show weak antiferromagnetic superexchange, with J values of ?0.33 ( 2 ), ?9.56 ( 3 ), and ?4.50 cm?1 ( 4 ) (exchange Hamiltonian H=?2 J (S1S2+S2S3)). Compound 5 shows two additional crystallographic phases ( 5 b and 5 c ) that can be obtained by dehydration and/or thermal treatment. These three phases exhibit distinct magnetic behavior. The Fe2+ centers in 5 are in high‐spin (HS) configuration at room temperature, with the central one exhibiting a non‐cooperative gradual spin transition below 250 K with T1/2=150 K. In 5 b , the central Fe2+ stays in its low‐spin (LS) state at room temperature, and cooperative spin transition occurs at higher temperatures and with the appearance of memory effect (T1/2↑=357 K and T1/2↓=343 K). In the case of 5 c , all iron centers remain in their HS configuration down to very low temperatures, with weak antiferromagnetic coupling (J=?1.16 cm?1). Compound 5 b exhibits spin transition with memory effect at the highest temperature reported, which matches the remarkable features of coordination polymers.  相似文献

A pyrene‐labeled uridine (UPy) monomer for a pyrrolidinyl peptide nucleic acid with an alternating proline/2‐aminocyclopentanecarboxylic acid backbone (acpcPNA) was synthesized and incorporated into the PNA. The UPy base in acpcPNA could specifically recognize the base A in its complementary DNA strand as determined by thermal denaturation (Tm) experiments. The fluorescence of the UPy‐containing single‐stranded acpcPNA was very weak in aqueous buffer. In the presence of a complementary DNA target, the fluorescence was enhanced significantly (2.7–41.9 folds, depending on sequences). The fluorescence enhancement was specific to the pairing between UPy and dA, making the UPy‐modified acpcPNA useful as a hybridization‐responsive fluorescence probe for DNA‐sequence determination.  相似文献

The scaffold geometries, stability and magnetic features of the (pyridine‐2‐yl)methanolate (L) supported wheel‐shaped transition‐metal complexes with compositions [M6L12] ( 1 ), [Na?(ML2)6]+ ( 2 ), and [M′?(ML2)6]2+ ( 3 ), in which M=CoII, NiII, CuII, and ZnII were investigated with density functional theory (DFT). The goals of this study are manifold: 1) To advance understanding of the magnetism in the synthesized compounds [Na?(ML2)6]+ and [M′?(ML2)6]2+ that were described in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2010 , 49, 4443 ( I ‐{Na?Ni6}, I ‐{Ni′?Ni6}) and Dalton Trans. 2011 , 40, 10526 ( II ‐{Na?Co6}, II ‐{Co′?Co6}); 2) To disclose how the structural, electronic, and magnetic characteristics of 1 , 2 , and 3 change upon varying MII from d7 (Co2+) to d10 (Zn2+); 3) To estimate the influence of the Na+ and M′2+ ions (XQ+) occupying the central voids of 2 and 3 on the external and internal magnetic coupling interactions in these spin structures; 4) To assess the relative structural and electrochemical stabilities of 1 , 2 , and 3 . In particular, we focus here on the net spin polarization, the determination of the strength and the sign of the exchange coupling energies, the rationalization of the nature of the magnetic coupling, and the ground‐state structures of 1 , 2 , and 3 . Our study combines the broken symmetry DFT approach and the model Hamiltonian methodology implemented in the computational framework CONDON 2.0 for the modeling of molecular spin structures, to interpret magnetic susceptibility measurements of I ‐{Na?Ni6} and I ‐{Ni′?Ni6}. We illustrate that whereas the structures, stability and magnetism of 1 , 2 , and 3 are indeed influenced by the nature of 3d transition‐metals in the {M6} rims, the XQ+ ions in the inner cavities of 2 and 3 impact these properties to an even larger degree. As exemplified by I ‐{Ni′?Ni6}, such heptanuclear complexes exhibit ground‐state multiplets that cannot be described by simplistic model of spin‐up and spin‐down metal centers. Furthermore, we assess how future low‐temperature susceptibility measurements at high magnetic fields can augment the investigation of compound 3 with M=Co, Ni.  相似文献

Simultaneous incorporation of both CoII and CoIII ions within a new thioether S‐bearing phenol‐based ligand system, H3L (2,6‐bis‐[{2‐(2‐hydroxyethylthio)ethylimino}methyl]‐4‐methylphenol) formed [Co5] aggregates [CoIICoIII4L2(μ‐OH)2(μ1,3‐O2CCH3)2](ClO4)4?H2O ( 1 ) and [CoIICoIII4L2(μ‐OH)2(μ1,3‐O2CC2H5)2](ClO4)4?H2O ( 2 ). The magnetic studies revealed axial zero‐field splitting (ZFS) parameter, D/hc=?23.6 and ?24.3 cm?1, and E/D=0.03 and 0.00, respectively for 1 and 2 . Dynamic magnetic data confirmed the complexes as SIMs with Ueff/kB=30 K ( 1 ) and 33 K ( 2 ), and τ0=9.1×10?8 s ( 1 ), and 4.3×10?8 s ( 2 ). The larger atomic radius of S compared to N gave rise to less variation in the distortion of tetrahedral geometry around central CoII centers, thus affecting the D and Ueff/kB values. Theoretical studies also support the experimental findings and reveal the origin of the anisotropy parameters. In solutions, both 1 and 2 which produce {CoIII2(μ‐L)} units, display solvent‐dependent catechol oxidation behavior toward 3,5‐di‐tert‐butylcatechol in air. The presence of an adjacent CoIII ion tends to assist the electron transfer from the substrate to the metal ion center, enhancing the catalytic oxidation rate.  相似文献

Spin‐labeled nitroxide derivatives of podophyllotoxin had better antitumor activity and less toxicity than that of the parent compounds. However, the 2‐H configurations of these spin‐labeled derivatives cannot be determined by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) methods. In the present paper, a high‐performance liquid chromatography‐diode array detection (HPLC‐DAD) and a high‐performance liquid chromatography‐electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC‐ESI/MS/MS) method were developed and validated for the separation, identification of four pairs of diastereoisomers of spin‐labeled derivatives of podophyllotoxin at C‐2 position. In the HPLC‐ESI/MS spectra, each pair of diastereoisomers of the spin‐labeled derivatives in the mixture was directly confirmed and identified by [M+H]+ ions and ion ratios of relative abundance of [M‐ROH+H]+ (ion 397) to [M+H]+. When the [M‐ROH+H]+ ions (at m/z 397) were selected as the precursor ions to perform the MS/MS product ion scan. The product ions at m/z 313, 282, and 229 were the common diagnostic ions. The ion ratios of relative abundance of the [M‐ROH+H]+ (ion 397) to [M+H]+, [A+H]+ (ion 313) to [M‐ROH+H]+, [A+H‐OCH3]+ (ion 282) to [M‐ROH+H]+ and [M‐ROH‐ArH+H]+ (ion 229) to [M‐ROH+H]+ of each pair of diastereoisomers of the derivatives specifically exhibited a stereochemical effect. Thus, by using identical chromatographic conditions, the combination of DAD and MS/MS data permitted the separation and identification of the four pairs of diastereoisomers of spin‐labeled derivatives of podophyllotoxin at C‐2 in the mixture.  相似文献
