Herein, we developed a partially controlled pyrolysis strategy to create evenly distributed NiO nanoparticles within NiFe-MOF nanosheets (MOF NSs) for electrochemical synthesis of H2O2 by a two-electron oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). The elemental Ni can be partially transformed to NiO and uniformly distributed on the surface of the MOF NSs, which is crucial for the formation of the particular structure. The optimized MOF NSs-300 exhibits the highest activity for ORR with near-zero overpotential and excellent H2O2 selectivity (ca. 99 %) in 0.1 m KOH solution. A high-yield H2O2 production rate of 6.5 mol gcat−1 h−1 has also been achieved by MOF NSs-300 in 0.1 m KOH and at 0.6 V (vs. RHE). In contrast to completely pyrolyzed products, the enhanced catalytic activities of partially pyrolyzed MOF NSs-300 originates mainly from the retained MOF structure and the newly generated NiO nanoparticles, forming the coordinatively unsaturated Ni atoms and tuning the performance towards electrochemical H2O2 synthesis.  相似文献

The electrochemical synthesis of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) via a two-electron (2 e) oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) process provides a promising alternative to replace the energy-intensive anthraquinone process. Herein, we develop a facile template-protected strategy to synthesize a highly active quinone-rich porous carbon catalyst for H2O2 electrochemical production. The optimized PCC900 material exhibits remarkable activity and selectivity, of which the onset potential reaches 0.83 V vs. reversible hydrogen electrode in 0.1 M KOH and the H2O2 selectivity is over 95 % in a wide potential range. Comprehensive synchrotron-based near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy combined with electrocatalytic characterizations reveals the positive correlation between quinone content and 2 e ORR performance. The effectiveness of chair-form quinone groups as the most efficient active sites is highlighted by the molecule-mimic strategy and theoretical analysis.  相似文献

Channel‐rich RuCu snowflake‐like nanosheets (NSs) composed of crystallized Ru and amorphous Cu were used as efficient electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER), hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), and overall water splitting in pH‐universal electrolytes. The optimized RuCu NSs/C‐350 °C and RuCu NSs/C‐250 °C show attractive activities of OER and HER with low overpotentials and small Tafel slopes, respectively. When applied to overall water splitting, the optimized RuCu NSs/C can reach 10 mA cm?2 at cell voltages of only 1.49, 1.55, 1.49 and 1.50 V in 1 m KOH, 0.1 m KOH, 0.5 m H2SO4 and 0.05 m H2SO4, respectively, much lower than those of commercial Ir/C∥Pt/C. The optimized electrolyzer exhibits superior durability with small potential change after up to 45 h in 1 m KOH, showing a class of efficient functional electrocatalysts for overall water splitting.  相似文献

A facile synthesis of partially hydroxy‐modified MOF‐5 and its improved H2‐adsorption capacity by lithium doping are reported. The reaction of Zn(NO3)2 ? 6 H2O with a mixture of terephthalic acid (H2BDC) and 2‐hydroxyterephthalic acid (H2BDC‐OH) in DMF gave hydroxy‐modified MOF‐5 (MOF‐5‐OH‐x), in which the molar fraction (x) of BDC‐OH2? was up to 0.54 of the whole ligand. The MOF‐5‐OH‐x frameworks had high BET surface areas (about 3300 m2 g?1), which were comparable to that of MOF‐5. We suggest that the MOF‐5‐OH‐x frameworks are formed by the secondary growth of BDC2?‐rich MOF‐5 seed crystals, which are nucleated during the early stage of the reaction. Subsequent Li doping into MOF‐5‐OH‐x results in increased H2 uptake at 77 K and 0.1 MPa from 1.23 to 1.39 wt. % and an increased isosteric heat of H2 adsorption from 5.1–4.2 kJ mol?1 to 5.5–4.4 kJ mol?1.  相似文献

The direct detection of nanoparticles is at the forefront of research owing to their environmental and toxicological applications. Herein, we studied the inherent electrochemistry of Ni and NiO nanoparticles and proposed a simple and direct electrochemical method for the determination of the concentrations of both nickel (Ni) and nickel oxide (NiO) nanoparticles in alkaline solution. A highly sensitive voltammetry technique was used to measure the oxidative signal of Ni(OH)2 that formed spontaneously on the surface of Ni and NiO nanoparticles in alkaline media. Detection limits of 220 μg mL?1 for Ni and 13 μg mL?1 for NiO nanoparticles were obtained. Ni and NiO nanoparticles are used as electrode modifiers or as electrochemical signal labels in various biosensing applications. Therefore, methods to rapidly quantify the amount of Ni and NiO nanoparticles are of widespread potential use.  相似文献

Layered two‐dimensional (2D) conjugated metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) represent a family of rising electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), due to the controllable architectures, excellent electrical conductivity, and highly exposed well‐defined molecular active sites. Herein, we report a copper phthalocyanine based 2D conjugated MOF with square‐planar cobalt bis(dihydroxy) complexes (Co‐O4) as linkages (PcCu‐O8‐Co) and layer‐stacked structures prepared via solvothermal synthesis. PcCu‐O8‐Co 2D MOF mixed with carbon nanotubes exhibits excellent electrocatalytic ORR activity (E1/2=0.83 V vs. RHE, n=3.93, and jL=5.3 mA cm?2) in alkaline media, which is the record value among the reported intrinsic MOF electrocatalysts. Supported by in situ Raman spectro‐electrochemistry and theoretical modeling as well as contrast catalytic tests, we identified the cobalt nodes as ORR active sites. Furthermore, when employed as a cathode electrocatalyst for zinc–air batteries, PcCu‐O8‐Co delivers a maximum power density of 94 mW cm?2, outperforming the state‐of‐the‐art Pt/C electrocatalysts (78.3 mW cm?2).  相似文献

Ultrathin metal–organic framework (MOF) nanosheets (NSs) offer potential for many applications, but the synthetic strategies are largely limited to top‐down, low‐yield exfoliation methods. Herein, Ni–M–MOF (M=Fe, Al, Co, Mn, Zn, and Cd) NSs are reported with a thickness of only several atomic layers, prepared by a large‐scale, bottom‐up solvothermal method. The solvent mixture of N,N‐dimethylacetamide and water plays key role in controlling the formation of these two‐dimensional MOF NSs. The MOF NSs can be directly used as efficient electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction, in which the Ni–Fe–MOF NSs deliver a current density of 10 mA cm?2 at a low overpotential of 221 mV with a small Tafel slope of 56.0 mV dec?1, and exhibit excellent stability for at least 20 h without obvious activity decay. Density functional theory calculations on the energy barriers for OER occurring at different metal sites confirm that Fe is the active site for OER at Ni–Fe–MOF NSs.  相似文献

The electrochemical quartz crystal impedance (EQCI) technique has been applied to investigate glucose oxidation on bare and Ni(OH)2‐modified Au electrodes in 0.2 mol L?1 KOH aqueous solution. The EQCI responses suggest different contributions of H+‐release and OH?‐incorporation reactions of the Ni(OH)2‐film redox process in 0.2 mol L?1 aqueous KOH at different potentials. Glucose adsorption on the Ni(OH)2‐modified Au electrode was studied. A mechanism for potential cyclic redox process of glucose at Ni(OH)2‐modified Au electrode is suggested, mainly based on a comparative EQCI analysis with direct glucose oxidation on bare gold and glucose ad‐/desorption on Ni(OH)2 film.  相似文献

A new sensor was fabricated by MIP synthesized on the surface of magnetic nickel(II) oxide (NiO) nanoparticles which based on the oxidation current change of H2O2. Chlortoluron was selected as template which can be detected indirectly by the decrease of the H2O2 oxidation current on the NiO nanoparticle‐modified GCE caused by the blocking access after rebinding. A high sensitivity was obtained because of the high catalytic effect of NiO nanoparticles on H2O2 oxidation. Chlortoluron was determined from 1.0×10?8/L to 1.0×10?4 mol/L, with a detection limit of 2.4×10?9 mol/L. The proposed method combines the high sensitivity of the catalytic effect and the high selectivity of the MIP technique. Water samples were assayed using the MIP sensor, and recoveries of 96.9 % to 104.7 % were obtained.  相似文献

The synthesis of a metal–organic framework (MOF) named IITI‐1 is reported by employing an H2L linker with Cu(NO3)2?3 H2O in a mixed solvent system of N,N‐dimethyl formamide (DMF) and H2O. Further, in order to explore the energy storage application of IITI‐1 , a IITI‐1/CNT hybrid was prepared by a simple ultrasonication technique. Incorporation of a carbon nanotube (CNT) in the layered IITI‐1 MOF gave rise to enhanced electrolyte accessibility along with improved electrochemical storage capacity. The electrochemical investigations reveal a high specific capacitance (380 F g?1 at 1.6 A g?1) with a good rate performance for IITI‐1/CNT . The IITI‐1 MOF and the IITI‐1/CNT composite were characterized by PXRD, BET, SEM, and TEM techniques. Moreover, IITI‐1 MOF was also confirmed by single‐crystal XRD analysis.  相似文献

The pyrolyzed carbon supported ferrum polypyrrole(Fe-N/C) catalysts are synthesized with or without selected dopants, p-toluenesulfonic acid(TsOH), by a facile thermal annealing approach at desired temperature for optimizing their activity for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) in O2-saturated 0.1 mol/L KOH solution. The electrochemical techniques such as cyclic voltammetry(CV) and rotating disk electrode(RDE) are employed with the Koutecky-Levich theory to quantitatively obtain the ORR kinetic constants and the reaction mechanisms. It is found that catalysts doped with TsOH show significantly improved ORR activity relative to the TsOH-free one. The average electron transfer numbers for the catalyzed ORR are determined to be 3.899 and 3.098, respectively, for the catalysts with and without TsOH-doping. The heat-treatment is found to be a necessary step for catalyst activity improvement, and the catalyst pyrolyzed at 600℃ gives the best ORR activity. An onset potential and the potential at the current density of-1.5 mA/cm2 for TsOH-doped catalyst after pyrolysis are 30 mV and 170 mV, which are more positive than those without pyrolized. Furthermore, the catalyst doped with TsOH shows higher tolerance to methanol compared with commercial Pt/C catalyst in 0.1 mol/L KOH. To understand this TsOH doping and pyrolyzed effect, X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope(SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) are used to characterize these catalysts in terms of their structure and composition. XPS results indicate that the pyrrolic-N groups are the most active sites, a finding that is supported by the correspondence between changes in pyridinic-N content and ORR activity that occur with changing temperature. Sulfur species are also structurally bound to carbon in the forms of C–Sn–C, an additional beneficial factor for the ORR.  相似文献

Single‐atom catalysts (SACs) have great potential in electrocatalysis. Their performance can be rationally optimized by tailoring the metal atoms, adjacent coordinative dopants, and metal loading. However, doing so is still a great challenge because of the limited synthesis approach and insufficient understanding of the structure–property relationships. Herein, we report a new kind of Mo SAC with a unique O,S coordination and a high metal loading over 10 wt %. The isolation and local environment was identified by high‐angle annular dark‐field scanning transmission electron microscopy and extended X‐ray absorption fine structure. The SACs catalyze the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) via a 2 e? pathway with a high H2O2 selectivity of over 95 % in 0.10 m KOH. The critical role of the Mo single atoms and the coordination structure was revealed by both electrochemical tests and theoretical calculations.  相似文献

In this study, a laser‐induced graphene (LIG) loaded platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) was prepared for precise, rapid and non‐enzymatic electrochemical detection of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The commercial PI films were used as the substrate of LIG. In order to improve the electrochemical performance of LIG, a layer of PtNPs catalyst was fabricated through a magnetron sputtering process on the surface of LIG (PtLIG). Under optimized conditions, a linear relationship between H2O2 reduction current and H2O2 concentration was recorded, the correlation coefficient R2 is 0.9919 with the detection limit of 0.1 μM (S/N=3) and the sensitivity of 248.4 μA mM?1cm?2. Moreover, the PtLIG exhibits excellent selectivity, reproducibility and repeatability. Because of these remarkable advantages, we believe that PtLIG will provide a wider range of applications in biosensors and bioelectronic devices.  相似文献

Glucose concentration monitoring is important for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diabetes. In this work, a composite material of AgNPs/MOF‐74(Ni) was prepared for electrochemical determination of glucose. AgNPs/MOF‐74(Ni) was characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The electrochemical properties of the glassy carbon electrodes modified with the AgNPs/MOF‐74(Ni) composites were characterized by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and current‐time curve (I‐t curve) with three electrode system. The determination of glucose with the electrode modified by AgNPs/MOF‐74(Ni) has a linear range of 0.01~4 mM with the correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.994. The detection limit is 4.7 μM (S/N=3) and the sensitivity is 1.29 mA ? mM?1 ? cm?2. In addition, this sensing system possesses reasonable reproducibility and stability. The good performance of electrochemical determination for glucose is attributed to the concerted effect of silver nanoparticles and MOF‐74(Ni) on the promotion of glucose oxidation  相似文献

We describe the preparation and optical–electrical characterization of thin electrochromic layers based on nickel oxide (NiOx). These layers were deposited by reactive radiofrequency (r.f.) sputtering from nickel or nickel oxide targets, maintaining the r.f. power and varying the oxygen flow in a gas mixture of Ar and O2 from 5% up to 30%. The Ni/O ratio in the deposited thin films was determined by Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy (RBS) and the microstructure was investigated by x‐ray diffraction. The deposition rate was found to be strongly dependent on the type of target used. The electrochromic behaviour in aqueous alkaline electrolyte (0.1 N KOH solution) was investigated by electrochemical cyclization. Samples deposited by the NiO target exhibited the lowest N/O ratio (0.5) and the highest value of intercalated charge (~4.9 × 10?2 mC cm?2 nm?1). Among the same samples the highest value of the intercalated charge was found for those deposited at low oxygen flow, but these samples exhibit the smallest reversible changes in optical absorption in the wavelength range 330–1200 nm. Samples deposited by the nickel target do not exhibit significant variations in the value of the exchanged charge; the measured Ni/O ratio indicates a stoichiometry closer to NiO. We also observed the switching behaviour by analysing the films in cyclic time mode at a fixed wavelength. The commutation response time is estimated by measurement under the application of a step waveform potential. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

High oxygen reduction (ORR) activity has been for many years considered as the key to many energy applications. Herein, by combining theory and experiment we prepare Pt nanoparticles with optimal size for the efficient ORR in proton‐exchange‐membrane fuel cells. Optimal nanoparticle sizes are predicted near 1, 2, and 3 nm by computational screening. To corroborate our computational results, we have addressed the challenge of approximately 1 nm sized Pt nanoparticle synthesis with a metal–organic framework (MOF) template approach. The electrocatalyst was characterized by HR‐TEM, XPS, and its ORR activity was measured using a rotating disk electrode setup. The observed mass activities (0.87±0.14 A mgPt?1) are close to the computational prediction (0.99 A mgPt?1). We report the highest to date mass activity among pure Pt catalysts for the ORR within similar size range. The specific and mass activities are twice as high as the Tanaka commercial Pt/C catalysis.  相似文献

Carbon‐supported NiII single‐atom catalysts with a tetradentate Ni‐N2O2 coordination formed by a Schiff base ligand‐mediated pyrolysis strategy are presented. A NiII complex of the Schiff base ligand (R,R)‐(?)‐N,N′‐bis(3,5‐di‐tert‐butylsalicylidene)‐1,2‐cyclohexanediamine was adsorbed onto a carbon black support, followed by pyrolysis of the modified carbon material at 300 °C in Ar. The Ni‐N2O2/C catalyst showed excellent performance for the electrocatalytic reduction of O2 to H2O2 through a two‐electron transfer process in alkaline conditions, with a H2O2 selectivity of 96 %. At a current density of 70 mA cm?2, a H2O2 production rate of 5.9 mol gcat.?1 h?1 was achieved using a three‐phase flow cell, with good catalyst stability maintained over 8 h of testing. The Ni‐N2O2/C catalyst could electrocatalytically reduce O2 in air to H2O2 at a high current density, still affording a high H2O2 selectivity (>90 %). A precise Ni‐N2O2 coordination was key to the performance.  相似文献

A novel nanocomposite designed by the assembly of the positively charged poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) protected gold nanoparticles (PDDA‐GNPs), and the negatively charged multi‐walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) on ITO electrode via electrostatic interaction, was used as a supporting matrix for immobilizing hemoglobin (Hb) to develop a high‐performance hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) biosensor. The cyclic voltammetrys of immobilized Hb showed a pair of well‐defined and quasi‐reversible redox peaks with the formal potential of ‐0.205V (vs. SCE) and the peak‐to‐peak potential separation of 44 mV at a scan rate of 100 mV×s?1 in 0.1 mol×L?1 pH 7.0 PBS. Under the optimized experimental conditions, a linearity range for determination of H2O2 was from 2.0 × 10?6 to 5.2 × 10?4 mol×L?1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.9994 (n = 37) and a detection limit of 8.4 × 10?7 mol×L?1. The biosensor displayed excellent electrochemical and electrocatalytic response to the reduction of H2O2, high sensitivity, long‐term stability, good bioactivity and selectivity.  相似文献

To apply electrically nonconductive metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) in an electrocatalytic oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), we have developed a new method for fabricating various amounts of CuS nanoparticles (nano‐CuS) in/on a 3D Cu–MOF, [Cu3(BTC)2?(H2O)3] (BTC=1,3,5‐benzenetricarboxylate). As the amount of nano‐CuS increases in the composite, the electrical conductivity increases exponentially by up to circa 109‐fold, while porosity decreases, compared with that of the pristine Cu‐MOF. The composites, nano‐CuS(x wt %)@Cu‐BTC, exhibit significantly higher electrocatalytic ORR activities than Cu‐BTC or nano‐CuS in an alkaline solution. The onset potential, electron transfer number, and kinetic current density increase when the electrical conductivity of the material increases but decrease when the material has a poor porosity, which shows that the two factors should be finely tuned by the amount of nano‐CuS for ORR application. Of these materials, CuS(28 wt %)@Cu‐BTC exhibits the best activity, showing the onset potential of 0.91 V vs. RHE, quasi‐four‐electron transfer pathway, and a kinetic current density of 11.3 mA cm?2 at 0.55 V vs. RHE.  相似文献
