Bifurcation for the generalized Birkhoffian system

The system described by the generalized Birkhoff equations is called a generalized Birkhoffian system. In this paper,the condition under which the generalized Birkhoffian system can be a gradient system is given. The stability of equilibrium of the generalized Birkhoffian system is discussed by using the properties of the gradient system. When there is a parameter in the equations, its influences on the stability and the bifurcation problem of the system are considered.

研究广义Birkhoff系统的平衡稳定性问题.建立了自治广义Birkhoff系统的平衡方程;给出了自治广义Birkhoff系统的一次近似方程,利用Lyapunov一次近似理论,建立了系统平衡状态稳定性的判据;构建了Lyapunov函数,利用Lyapunov直接法,建立了自治广义Birkhoff系统平衡状态稳定性的判据.给出了若干算例以说明结果的应用.     

Symmetry and conserved quantities of discrete generalized Birkhoffian system

The Noether symmetry,the Mei symmetry and the conserved quantities of discrete generalized Birkhoffian system are studied in this paper.Using the difference discrete variational approach,the difference discrete variational principle of discrete generalized Birkhoffian system is derived.The discrete equations of motion of the system are established.The criterion of Noether symmetry and Mei symmetry of the system is given.The discrete Noether and Mei conserved quantities and the conditions for their existence are obtained.Finally,an example is given to show the applications of the results.     

Type of integral and reduction for a generalized Birkhoffian system

This paper studies a type of integral and reduction of the generalized Birkhoffian system. An existent condition and the form of the integral are obtained. By using the integral, the dimension of the system can be reduced two degrees. An example is given to illustrate the application of the results.

Perturbation to Mei symmetry and Mei adiabatic invariants for discrete generalized Birkhoffian system

Based on the concept of discrete adiabatic invariant,this paper studies the perturbation to Mei symmetry and Mei adiabatic invariants of the discrete generalized Birkhoffian system.The discrete Mei exact invariant induced from the Mei symmetry of the system without perturbation is given.The criterion of the perturbation to Mei symmetry is established and the discrete Mei adiabatic invariant induced from the perturbation to Mei symmetry is obtained.Meanwhile,an example is discussed to illustrate the application of the results.

Generalized Birkhoffian representation of nonholonomic systems and its discrete variational algorithm

By using the discrete variational method, we study the numerical method of the general nonholonomic system in the generalized Birkhoffian framework, and construct a numerical method of generalized Birkhoffian equations called a self-adjoint-preserving algorithm. Numerical results show that it is reasonable to study the nonholonomic system by the structure-preserving algorithm in the generalized Birkhoffian framework.     

A complex formulation of generalized Hamiltonian (Birkhoffian) theory

Fundamental analytic, algebraic, and geometric properties of generalized Hamiltonian (Birkhoffian) theory are compared with the properties of a covering unitary phase-space formulation based on complex variables of the form (p+iq). Technical advantages in the unitary phase-space formulation are illustrated by a detailed discussion of the one-dimensional extended damped harmonic oscillator. One advantage is the ability to fully describe nonconservative constraint forces within a globally conservative system. Another advantage is that wider classes of gauge transformations are available to simplify the construction of smooth solution manifolds.

The invariant representation of generalized momentum

The relativistic-invariance representation of generalized momentum of a particle in the external field is proposed. In this representation the dependence of potentials of the particle-field interaction on the particle velocity is taken into account. An exact correspondence of expressions for the energy and potential energy for the classical Hamiltonian is established, which makes identical the solutions of problems of mechanics with relativistic and classical approaches. The invariance of the generalized momentum representation allows one to describe equivalently a physical system in geometrically conjugated spaces of kinematical and dynamical variables.     

A potential integration method for Birkhoffian system

This paper is intended to apply the potential integration method to the differential equations of the Birkhoffian system. The method is that, for a given Birkhoffian system, its differential equations are first rewritten as 2n first-order differential equations. Secondly, the corresponding partial differential equations are obtained by potential integration method and the solution is expressed as a complete integral. Finally, the integral of the system is obtained.

A generalized representation for dielectric dispersion

The generalized formulation for dielectric dispersion is extended for dielectrics exhibiting strongly overlapping arcs in the- complex plane. Subsequently, a novel network representation is developed whereby Negative Impedance Converters (NICs) are employed along with passive R-C elements. Satisfactory agreement is obtained in comparing the experimental results with those calculated using the new formulation.     

Form invariance and new conserved quantity of generalised Birkhoffian system

A form invariance and a conserved quantity of the generalised Birkhoffian system are studied. Firstly, a definition and a criterion of the form invariance are given. Secondly, through the form invariance, a new conserved quantity can be deduced. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the application of the result.

Cyclic integrals and reduction of rotational relativistic Birkhoffian system

The order reduction method of the rotational relativistic Birkhoffian is studied.For a rotational relativistic Birkhoffian system.the cyclic integrals can be found by using the perfect differential method.Through these cyclic integrals,the order of the system can be reduced.If the rotational relativistic Birkhoffian system has a cyclic integral,then the Birkhoffian equations can be reduced at least two degrees and the Birkhoffian form can be kept.An example is given to illustrate the application of the results.     

Hierarchical representation of generalized (nonadditive) thermodynamics

A recurrence relation leading to a probability distribution of microstates at different hierarchical levels of a nonadditive statistical system is examined (for the upper level the relation reduces to the Tsallis distribution [C.
