Recently evidence was presented for the existence of magnetic charge from Zeeman splitting in meson states. The model by Akers predicted the existence of a new meson at 1814 MeV withI G(J PC )=0+(0–+). Experimental evidence for this new meson is cited and discussed.  相似文献

A status report is presented on the existence of quarks carrying the Dirac unit of magnetic chargeg = (137/2)e. The Paschen-Back effect in dyonium is discussed. From the dyonium model, Akers predicted the existence of a new meson at 1814 MeV withI G(JPC) = 0+(0–+). Experimental evidence now confirms the existence of the meson resonance.  相似文献

In the experiments at the SPHINX facility in 70 GeV proton beam of the IHEP accelerator the coherent diffractive production reactions on carbon nucleip+C [(1385)0 K ++C andp+C[0 K +]+C were investigated. The evidences for new baryon states were obtained in the study of hyperon-kaon effective mass spectra in these two reactions:X (2050) with massM=(2052±6) MeV and width =(35 –35 +22 ) MeV inM[(1385)0 K +] andX(2000) withM=1999±6 MeV and =91±17 MeV inM[0 K +]. The unusual features of these massive states (small enough decay widths, anomalously large branching ratios for decays with strange particles emission) make them very serious candidates for cryptoexotic pentaquark baryons with hidden strangeness.  相似文献

Distributions of the (J =0+, 1+, 2+, 3+, 4+) isoscalar and isovector strength in16O have been calculated in then particle —n hole (n=0, 1, 2) shell model. The isoscalar quadrupole giant resonance comes out fragmentated over eight peaks which exhaust 33% of the EWSR betweenE *=17 and 25 MeV. This result agrees nicely with the recent3He and alpha inelastic scattering experiments. Giant monopole isoscalar (isovector) resonance appears to exhaust more than 50% of the EWSR nearE *=30 MeV (E *=40 MeV). Several collective states of other multipolarities are predicted either near to 30 MeV or between 50 and 60 MeV. The ground state correlations of the 2p2h type give rise to a considerable strength redistributions as compared with the case of the closed shell ground state. On leave fromInstitute of Nuclear Physics, Czechosl. A systematic study of possible deuteronlike twomeson bound states, deusons, is presented. Previous arguments that many such bound states may exist are elaborated with detailed arguments and numerical calculations including, in particular, the tensor potential. This tensor potential which is crucial for the deuteron binding is shown to be very important also in the mesonic case. Especially, in the pseudoscalar3 P 0 pseudoscalar-vector and vector-vector channels the important observation is made that the centrifugal barrier from theP-wave can be overcome by the 1/r 2 and 1/r 3 terms of the tensor potential. In the heavy meson sector one-pion exchange alone is strong enough to form at least deuteronlike and composites bound by approximately 50 MeV. Composites of and states bound by pion exchange alone are expected near the thresholds, while in the light meson sector one generally needs some additional short range attraction to form bound states. The quantum numbers of these states areI=0, andJ PC=0–+, 1++ for the states andI=0,J PC=0++, O–+, 1+– and 2++ for the composites. In the states: b (10545), b1(10562) are predicted and in , one finds the states: b (10590), bQ (10582),h b(10608), b2(10602). Near the threshold the states: c (3870), c0(3870) are predicted, and near the threshold one finds the states: b0(4015), c (4015),h c(4015), c2(4015). Within the light meson sector pion exchange gives strong attraction for and systems with quantum numbers where the best non- candidates exist, although pion exchange alone is not strong enough to support such bound states. Thus, although one cannot conclude with certainty it to be the case, this fact does favour the picture that the (1440) and thef 1 (1420) are mainly composites and thef 0(1710) mainly a bound state, while thef 0(1515) andf 2(1520) could be predominantly composites. If the predicted and states are found, these would support this interpretation of the light states. In channels with exotic flavour orCP quantum numbers pion exchange is generally repulsive or quite weak. Therefore one does not expect that such deuteronlike bound states exist, althoughB*B* may be an exception.  相似文献

An analysis of data on is presented at beam momenta 600 to 1940 MeV/c. There is evidence for an I=1, JPC=2−+ resonance in ηηπ0 with mass M=1880±20 MeV and width 255±45 MeV, decaying strongly to a2(1320)η; it is too strong to be explained as the high mass tail of π2(1670)→a2(1320)η. There is tentative evidence also for weak decays to f0(1500)π. It makes a natural partner to the η2(1860).  相似文献

We present the results of the current analysis of the partial wave IJ PC = 00+ + based on the available data for meson spectra ( ππ, KˉK,ηη,η,ππππ). In the framework of the K-matrix approach, the analytical amplitude has been reconstructed in the mass region 280 MeV < < 1900 MeV. The following scalar-isoscalar states are seen: comparatively narrow resonances f 0(980), f 0(1300), f 0(1500), f 0(1750) and the broad state f0(1200-1600). The positions of the amplitude poles (masses and total widths of the resonances) are determined as well as pole residues (partial widths to meson channels ππ, KˉK,ηη,η,ππππ). The fitted amplitude gives us the positions of the K-matrix poles (bare states) and the values of bare-state couplings to meson channels thus allowing the quark-antiquark nonet classification of bare states. On the basis of the obtained partial widths to the channels ππ, KˉK,ηη,η, we estimate the quark/gluonium content of f 0(980), f 0(1300), f 0(1500), f 0(1750), f0(1200-1600). For f 0(980), f 0(1300), f 0(1500) and f 0(1750), their partial widths testify the qˉq origin of these mesons though being unable to provide precise evaluation of the possible admixture of the gluonium component in these resonances. The ratios of the decay coupling constants for the f0(1200-1600) support the idea about the gluonium nature of this broad state. The spectrum of , Jp=0+, 2+ mesons is discussed. We have shown that due to instanton-induced forces the physical states are strong mixtures of theSU f (3) group basis states. The cross-sections for annihilation of the system into mesons are obtained. Thea 0(980) meson is considered as meson consisting of 9 f and 36 f plets. The branchings are also predicted for the cross-sections for production of thea 0(980) and tensor mesons in annihilation.  相似文献

The generalization of the two-dimensional soliton to four space-time dimensions is a magnetic monopole. If the Higgs field lies in the adjoint representation electric and magnetic chargesq andg can be defined. If further the Higgs self-interaction vanishes all the particle states obey the universal, dual symmetric mass formulaM=a (q 2+g 2).There is evidence that this is exact in quantum mechanics if the theory is madeSO(2) supersymmetric.Invited talk at the Symposium on Mathematical Methods in the Theory of Elementary Particles, Liblice castle, Czechoslovakia, June 18–23, 1978.  相似文献

On the basis of the decay couplings f 0ππ, K , ηη, ηη′ found earlier in the study of analytical (IJ PC =00++) amplitude in the mass range 450–1900 MeV, we analyze the quark-gluonium content of the resonances f 0(980), f 0(1300), f 0(1500), and f 0(1750) and the broad state f 0(1420 −70 +150 ). The K-matrix technique used in the analysis makes it possible to evaluate the quark-gluonium content both for the states with switched-off decay channels (bare states, f 0 bare ) and for the real resonances. We observe a significant change in the quark-gluonium composition in the evolution from bare states to real resonances, which is due to the mixing of states in the transitions f 0(m 1) → real mesons → f 0 (m 2) responsible for the decay processes as well. For f 0(980), the analysis confirmed the dominance of q component, thus proving the n /s composition found in the study of the radiative decays. For the mesons f 0(1300), f 0(1500), and f 0(1750), the hadronic decays do not allow one to determine uniquely the n , s , and gluonium components, providing relative percentage only. The analysis shows that the broad state f 0(1420 −70 +150 ) can mix with the flavor singlet q component only, which is consistent with gluonium origin of the broad resonance. The mass of 13 Be has been measured with the reaction 13 C(14 C,14 O)13 Be at E Lab =337 MeV. A Q-value of Q 0=–37.02(5) MeV was obtained and the mass excess is M.E.=35.16(5) MeV. If the observed line corresponds to the ground state,13 Be is particle unstable with respect to the oneneutron emission by 2.01 MeV. The observed line width of 0.3(2) MeV supports an assignment ofJ =5/2+ or 1/2, but excludesJ =1/2+. An excited state is seen at 3.12(7) MeV; there are indications of a second excited state at 6.5(2) MeV.  相似文献

The low-lying collective bands of positive parity states in (fp) shell nuclei are described in the deformed Hartree-Fock method by projecting states of definite angular momenta from ‘the lowest energy intrinsic states in (sd)−1 (fp) n+1 configurations. The modified Kuo-Brown effective interaction for (fp) shell and modified surface delta interaction (MSDI) for a hole in (sd) shell with a particle in (fp) shell have been used. The collective bands of states are in general well reproduced by the effective interactions. The excitation energies of the band head states are however off by about one MeV. The calculated magnetic moments of the band headj=3/2+ states are in reasonable agreement with experiment. Using effective chargese p=1.33e ande n=0.64e we get fairly good agreement forE(2) transitions. The hinderedM(1) transition strengths are reproduced to the correct order however they are slightly higher compared to experiment.  相似文献

A simple recursive relation is derived for the momentsM n ,n=1, 2,..., of the Percus-Yevick correlation functionh(r) for identical hard spheres. TheM n are rational functions of the volume fractionw occupied by the spheres; the first ten are given explicitly, and a single-term asymptotic form is obtained to suffice for the rest. Applications of theM n(w) include testing different approximations forh by numerical integration ofh(r) r n . We compare exact moments with shell approximationsM n [h s ] corresponding to integration fromr=0 tos+1 fors=3–8, and with hybrid approximationsM n [h s +h a ] which supplement the shell approximations with integrals of an asymptotic tail froms+1 to . For a givens, the hybrid approximation is better forw increasing than the shell approximation, andM n [h 3+h a ] is even better thanM n [h 8]  相似文献

By the application of a linear mass spectrum to a composite system of both the pseudoscalar and scalar meson nonets, we find three relations for the masses of the scalar states which suggest the assignment for the scalar meson nonet a0(1320), K 0 * (1430), f0(1500), and f0 (980).  相似文献

The reactione + e - e + e - 00e + e - 6 has been analysed using the full data sample taken with the Crystal Ball detector at the DORIS II storage ring at DESY. The 00 invariant mass spectrum is dominated by the ', for which we determine the radiative width (') to be (4.5±0.3±0.5)keV. Near 1.9 GeV/c2 we observe a second enhancement in the 00 mass distribution. Assuming that these events are created by the production and subsequent decay of a wide resonanceX(1900), we have investigated the decay modes, the invariant mass distributions of the 0 and 00 subsystems and the angular distributions of the final state mesons. We find that the data is best described byJ PC=2. For thisJ P assignment the resonance parameters are (X) BR(X)=(0.95±0.27±0.20) keV tot (X)=(221±92±44)MeV, andM(X)=(1881±32±40) MeV/c2.Deceased  相似文献

We investigate a special concept of quarkhadron duality in meson physics at low and intermediate energies. With a relativistic propagator for confined quarks, we calculated masses and widths of the mesons which areS- andP-wave states ofq¯q (J P=0?, 1?, 0+, 1+c, 2+) as well as meson-meson scattering amplitudes at energies up totrs ≤ 1.3 GeV by including light pseudoscalar and vector mesons into the interaction dynamics. Our investigation shows that the influence of the light meson dynamics resutls in:
  1. a contribution to the constituent quark mass of approximately 200 MeV.
  2. the appearance of a new soft confinement force barrier responsible for the formation of the highly excited meson states.

Leptonic decay constants of all pseudoscalar mesons are determined in QCD by means of a new QCD sum-rule method. In the light meson and heavy quark limit the results are very similar and also agree with the well-known PCAC and scaling predictions respectively. The corrections to light meson pole dominance are generally small while those to the heavy quark limit are found to be sensitive to the binding energy (i.e. meson and quark mass differences). For standard values of quark masses we obtainf =132 MeV,f k=161 MeV,f B=128±28 MeV,f D=175±13 MeV,f Bs=144±30 MeV andf Ds=193±12 MeV.Work supported by Bundesministerium für Forschung und Technologie (BMFT) under contract No. 06MZ758  相似文献

The decay asymmetries (A) in polarized12B and12N have been measured as a function of -ray energies (E). The coefficients ± inA = ±P(p/E) (1+± E) have been determined to be (12B) =+(0.31±0.06)%/MeV and +(12N) = –(0.21±0.07)%/MeV. The experimental value, +=(0.52±0.09)%/MeV, is larger than the prediction according to conservation of vector current which includes no second-class current, + CVC0.27%/MeV, and indicates the existence of the second-class induced-tensor current. This work has been done in collaboration with I. We have studied the andK systems centrally produced in proton proton collisions at 300 GeV/c and +/p proton collisions at 85 GeV/c using the CERN spectrometer. Clear evidence forS */f o(975) production is observed. An analysis performed on the + mass spectrum in the 1.0 GeV region, using a coupled channel formalism, shows that it is possible to describe theS */f o(975) effect with one single resonance once interference of theS */f o(975) with theS-wave background is introduced. The resultingS */f o(975) parameters arem o =979±4MeV,g =0.28±0.04,g K =0.56±0.18 corresponding to a pole position on sheet II at (1001±2)–i(36±4) MeV. Evidence is also found for a structure having a mass of 1472±12 MeV and a width of 195±33 MeV.  相似文献

From the pole dominance approximation for transformation an estimate of the M d or the mass difference of D L 0 and D s 0 meson has been found out. The results obtained are close to that of Donoghue et al. Two gamma decay width of D0 meson has also been calculated. Further calculations from the box diagram approach for this meson have been carried out by modifying the CKM matrix in the light of recent observation of top quark massm t=174 GeV while maintaining the prediction for the K0 meson undisturbed.  相似文献
