The possibilities of quantitative dynamic headspace by use of a multiple extraction method and an internal gas standard system for various classes of organic compounds in polyethylene and polypropylene are demonstrated. Numerous compounds can be analyzed over wide ranges of concentration and vapor pressure. However, the present study shows that the precision of the desorption parameters is of critical importance for assuring good quantitative results. The possibilities of using a theoretical model are also described. The recovery may be determined and the use of repeated desorption cycles can be reduced.  相似文献

An experimental method for the analysis of volatile organic compounds in polymers is described. The technique involves dynamic headspace sampling, collection, and concentration of the volatiles in a cold trap, followed by capillary column gas chromatography/mass spectometry. Flow switching is carried out by the Deans switching technique. Four technical polymers used as pharmaceutical packaging materials have been analyzed in order to demonstrate the method.  相似文献

A novel dynamic headspace gas chromatographic system equipped with a wide bore capillary column was constructed for direct analysis of less volatile components in polymeric materials such as coating paints. With this system, the determination of typical paint additives such as hindered amine light stabilizers and ultraviolet absorbers could be carried out within a short time.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to test the suitability and performance of various stationary phases and column dimensions for dynamic headspace gas chromatography of food aromas. The trials were performed using an aqueous test mixture containing thirty seven volatile flavor components of intense aroma, and a sample of ripe Swiss Emmental cheese. The best performance with both samples was obtained with a capillary column coated with a thick film of polydimethylsiloxane. This column resolved the greatest number of compounds in the cheese sample and resulted in the overlapping of one pair of peaks only from the test mixture. Because of its other advantages, i. e. high capacity owing to its film thickness, and insensitivity to the high moisture content of some samples or traces of oxygen in the carrier gas, the polydimethylsiloxane column appears suitable for the analysis of the volatile and highly polar compounds present in complex mixtures such as food aroma.  相似文献

Focused cryogenic trapping has been used to maximize the high resolution capabilities of fused silica capillary columns during dynamic headspace and pyrolytic polymer analyses. Mass spectrometric detection with data system recording/processing provide sensitive, selective, and rapid results. The techniques described herein demonstrate the power of both dynamic headspace and pyrolytic analyses for troubleshooting applications with complex industrial polymer products.  相似文献

A specific, sensitive, and simple method for the quantitation of residual methanol, 2-propanol, 2-butanol, 2-methoxy-1-ethanol, 1-chloro-3-methoxy-2-propanol, 3-chloro-2-methoxy-1-propanol, and 1,3-dimethoxy-2-propanol in two non-ionic X-ray contrast media, has been developed. The headspace of a 25 % w/V aqueous solution of contrast media, obtained at 90–110°C in 15 min, was injected onto a capillary column coated with cyanopropyl, phenyl, dimethylpolysiloxane polymer. The internal standards used were 2-pentanol and 3-methoxy-1-butanol. The limits of detection were below 5 μg/g. The repeatability of the method at 50 μg/g of each solvent was below 5 %; and at 100 μg/g of the methoxypropanol compounds and 2-methoxy-1-ethanol, below 10 % (RSD, N = 5).  相似文献

The estimation of physicochemical parameters such as distillation points and relative densities still plays an important role in the quality control of gasoline and similar fuels. Their measurements according to standard ASTM procedures demands specific equipments and are time and work consuming. An alternative method to predict distillation points and relativity density by multivariate analysis of comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GC×GC-FID) data is presented here. Gasoline samples, previously tested according to standard methods, were used to build regression models, which were evaluated by external validation. The models for distillation points were built using variable selection methods, while the model for relativity density was built using the whole chromatograms. The root mean square prediction differences (RMSPD) obtained were 0.85%, 0.48%, 1.07% and 1.71% for 10, 50 and 90% v/v of distillation and for the final point of distillation, respectively. For relative density, the RMSPD was 0.24%. These results suggest that GC×GC-FID combined with multivariate analysis can be used to predict these physicochemical properties of gasoline.  相似文献

建立了顶空进样气相色谱法测定乳制品中硫氰酸盐含量的方法。乳制品中硫氰酸盐用水提取,然后用乙酸锌溶液沉淀蛋白质,将提取液离心,取上清液加入氯胺T将硫氰酸离子衍生为氯化氰,顶空进样,经BP10(14%氰丙基苯基聚硅氧烷)气相色谱柱分离,电子捕获检测器(ECD)检测,外标法定量,同时对衍生剂用量、顶空加热时间和保温温度进行了优化。结果表明: 硫氰酸盐在0.005~0.1 mg/L内线性关系良好,相关系数(r)为0.997,定量限(以信噪比(S/N)≥10计)为0.1 mg/kg。在1.0、2.0、10.0 mg/kg 3个添加水平下进行了回收率和精密度试验,加标回收率为90.0%~110.0%,相对标准偏差(RSD, n=10)为4.98%~7.89%。该方法操作简便、快速、稳定性好,可用于乳制品中硫氰酸盐的测定,能满足日常检测要求。应用该法对市售的18种乳制品进行了检测,发现所测乳制品皆含有硫氰酸盐,含量大约在0.5~10 mg/kg。  相似文献

This paper reports a method for determining the carbonate content in barite ore using headspace gas chromatography. Based on the acidification reaction, the carbonate in the barite ore was converted to CO2 in a closed headspace vial. When the carbonate content was significant, the pressure caused changes in the CO2 and O2 signals and affected the measurement accuracy. It was found that carbonate content is proportional to the intensity ratio of the CO2 to O2 signals. Thus, the carbonate content in barite ore can be measured indirectly using a theoretical model. The results showed that the carbonate in 3 g of barite ore sample with a particle size of 74 μm could react completely with a hydrochloric acid solution (2 mol/L) at 65°C for 5 min. The method described herein had good precision (relative standard deviation < 4.14%) and accuracy (relative differences < 6.12%). Further, the limit of quantification was 0.07 mol/L. Owing to its simplicity and speed, this method can be used for the batch determination of carbonate content in barite ore.  相似文献

Routine analytical methods for benzo[a]pyrene and nitroarenes in airborne particulates are presented. Benzo[a]pyrene in airborne particulates was easily analyzed by a capillary GC/NCIMS. Analysis time was about 10 min and analytical values obtained by this method agreed well with those by HPLC/spectrofluorometry. Nineteen nitroarenes were analyzed by capillary GC/FTD following a simple clean-up procedure. Fifteen out of 19 nitroarenes analyzed were mutagenic for Salmonella typhimurium TA100 and TA98, and 4 nitroarenes were carcinogenic to experimental animals.  相似文献

The determination of organochlorine pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls in milks requires the use of efficient extraction methods. A rapid procedure has been developed, based on extraction of organochlorine residues from milk on to octadecylsilica solid phase extraction cartridges and elution with hexane. The addition of different organic solvents to the milk before solid phase extraction has been studied. The use of methanol to disrupt the fat globules enables almost complete recovery of the residues with minimum extraction of fatty substances. Recovery experiments were performed for eighteen compounds present at ppb levels in whole, two per cent, and skimmed milks. The average recoveries of the compounds from two per cent and skimmed milks were 73–84%; values for whole milk were lower. The residues were determined by gas chromatography using two kinds of capillary column (non-polar and semi-polar) and electron capture detection. The procedure shows low lipid carry over, and extraneous interferences are minimal. The method has been applied to the detection of organochlorine pesticides and nine individual polychlorinated biphenyls in commercial milks. The results obtained demonstrated the presence of very low levels of organochlorine residues in the commercial milks analyzed.  相似文献

A new analytical technique combining on-line supercritical fluid chromatography with capillary gas chromatography has been developed. The supercritical fluid sample effluent is decompressed through a restrictor directly into a conventional capillary gas chromatographic injection port. This technique allows for not only direct (100%) sample transfer from the supercritical fluid chromatograph to the gas chromatograph but also for selective or multi-step heartcutting of various sample peaks as they elute from the supercritical fluid chromatograph. Heartcut times are determined by monitoring the responses from the flame ionization or ultraviolet absorbance detectors on the supercritical fluid chromatograph. This report describes the operational setup and provides the results of heartcut reproducibility experiments using normal hydrocarbon and aromatic test mixtures. Results from studies where operational parameters were varied, such as GC injector temperature, will also be provided. The potential usefulness of this new technique for selective heartcutting will also be demonstrated using complex hydrocarbon streams.  相似文献

The performance of two commercially available systems employing dynamic headspace techniques for collection, enrichment, and injection of volatile compounds has been compared by GC analysis of test mixtures and dairy products. For technical reasons, it has not been possible to crate identical sorbent materials for both kinds of trap were not available, the most similar adsorbent available were chosen. The total quantity of volatile compounds from a test mixture at the column head was calculated using a theoretical model which enables comparable working conditions to be obtained. Under these circumstances special attention was paid to the repeatability of the data obtained from a test mixture in order to ensure reliable results in quantitative analysis. Significant differences in repeatability between the two systems seemed to originate from their distinctly different technical designs. A qualitative comparison of the systems has been performed using a sample of Swiss cheese. On the basis of the results obtained the systems have been dedicated to different applications in the laboratory of the FAM.  相似文献

A system for automatic analysis of volatile compounds by purge-and-cold-trapping/capillary gas chromatography is described. It is suitable for analysis of volatile compounds in a wide variety of samples, such as water, food products and environmental samples. Possibilities and limitations of the system are evaluated in relation to several parameters. The efficiency of different types of cryogenic trap (open tubular, coated, packed) is also investigated; it depends on purge-flow rate, temperature of trapping, and total purge volume. Examples of the analysis of volatile compounds in foods and water are given.  相似文献
