We introduce and investigate the properties of Hochschild cohomology of algebras in an abelian monoidal category M. We show that the second Hochschild cohomology group of an algebra in M classifies extensions of A up to an equivalence. We characterize algebras of Hochschild dimension 0 (separable algebras), and of Hochschild dimension ≤1 (formally smooth algebras). Several particular cases and applications are included in the last section of the paper.  相似文献

Let Λ be an artin algebra and X a finitely generated Λ-module. Iyama has shown that there exists a module Y such that the endomorphism ring Γ of XY is quasi-hereditary, with a heredity chain of length n, and that the global dimension of Γ is bounded by this n. In general, one only knows that a quasi-hereditary algebra with a heredity chain of length n must have global dimension at most 2n−2. We want to show that Iyama’s better bound is related to the fact that the ring Γ he constructs is not only quasi-hereditary, but even left strongly quasi-hereditary. By definition, the left strongly quasi-hereditary algebras are the quasi-hereditary algebras with all standard left modules of projective dimension at most 1.  相似文献

An associative ring R with unit element is called semilocal if R modulo its Jacobson radical is an artinian ring. We continue the study of the polynomiality of the semicentre Sz(p) of the enveloping algebra of a parabolic subalgebra p of a semisimple Lie algebra g, motivated by its truth when g is of type A or C [F. Fauquant-Millet, A. Joseph, Semi-centre de l'algèbre enveloppante d'une sous-algèbre parabolique d'une algèbre de Lie semi-simple, Ann. Sci. École Norm. Sup. (4) 38 (2) (2005) 155-191] and when p=b, a Borel subalgebra [A. Joseph, A preparation theorem for the prime spectrum of a semisimple Lie algebra, J. Algebra 48 (1977) 241-289] and p=g (Chevalley).We construct a linear map of Sz(b) into Sz(g) and show it to be an isomorphism just in types A and C. We link this to the difficulty of proving the polynomiality of Sz(p) outside types A and C. It leads to “false degrees” defined by underlying combinatorial structure. These are the true degrees when the bounds in [F. Fauquant-Millet, A. Joseph, Semi-centre de l'algèbre enveloppante d'une sous-algèbre parabolique d'une algèbre de Lie semi-simple, Ann. Sci. École Norm. Sup. (4) 38 (2) (2005) 155-191] coincide and polynomiality ensues. We show that these false degrees always sum to which can fail for the true degrees when they are defined. Finally we prove the Tauvel-Yu conjecture on the index of a parabolic.  相似文献

The fundamental example of Gerstenhaber algebra is the space Tpoly(Rd) of polyvector fields on Rd, equipped with the wedge product and the Schouten bracket. In this paper, we explicitely describe what is the enveloping G algebra of a Gerstenhaber algebra G. This structure gives us a definition of the Chevalley-Harrison cohomology operator for G. We finally show the nontriviality of a Chevalley-Harrison cohomology group for a natural Gerstenhaber subalgebra in Tpoly(Rd).  相似文献

A method for establishing a Gerstenhaber algebra structure on the cohomology of Loday-type algebras is presented. This method is then applied to dendriform dialgebras and three types of trialgebras introduced by Loday and Ronco. Along the way, our results are combined with a result of McClure-Smith to prove an analogue of Deligne’s conjecture for Loday algebras.  相似文献

The aim of this note is to understand the injectivity of Feigin's map Fw by representation theory of quivers, where w is the word of a reduced expression of the longest element of a finite Weyl group. This is achieved by the Ringel–Hall algebra approach and a careful studying of a well-known total order on the category of finite-dimensional representations of a valued quiver of finite type. As a byproduct, we also generalize Reineke's construction of monomial bases to non-simply-laced cases.  相似文献

Since curved dg algebras, and modules over them, have differentials whose square is not zero, these objects have no cohomology, and there is no classical derived category. For different purposes, different notions of “derived” categories have been introduced in the literature. In this article, we show that for some concrete curved dg algebras, these derived categories vanish. This happens for example for the initial curved dg algebra whose module category is the category of precomplexes, and for certain deformations of dg algebras.  相似文献

The classical theorem of Cartier-Milnor-Moore-Quillen gives an equivalence between the category of connected cocommutative bialgebras and the category of Lie algebras. We establish an analogous equivalence between the category of connected dendriform bialegebras and the category of brace algebras. For a finite group G, let E(G) denote the near-ring of functions generated by the semigroup, End(G), of endomorphisms of G. We characterize when E(G) is maximal as a subnear-ring of M 0(G). A group G is an E-group if E(G) is a ring. We give a new characterization of finite E-groups and investigate the problem of determining, for finite E-groups, when E(G) is maximal as a ring in M0(G). We determine the L 2-Betti numbers of all one-relator groups and all surface-plus-one-relation groups. We also obtain some information about the L 2-cohomology of left-orderable groups, and deduce the non-L 2 result that, in any left-orderable group of homological dimension one, all two-generator subgroups are free. The Bröcker-Prestel local-global principle characterizes weak isotropy of quadratic forms over a formally real field in terms of weak isotropy over the Henselizations and isotropy over the real closures of that field. A Hermitian analogue of this principle is presented for algebras of index at most two. An improved result is also presented for algebras with a decomposable involution, algebras of Pythagorean index at most two, and algebras over SAP and ED fields.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish the Composition-Diamond lemma for associative algebras with multiple linear operators. As applications, we obtain Gröbner-Shirshov bases of free Rota-Baxter algebra, free λ-differential algebra and free λ-differential Rota-Baxter algebra, respectively. In particular, linear bases of these three free algebras are respectively obtained, which are essentially the same or similar to the recent results obtained by K. Ebrahimi-Fard-L. Guo, and L. Guo-W.
