The evolution of a foam is determined by drainage flow of the continuous (liquid) phase and coarsening (aging) of the dispersed phase (gas bubbles). Free-drainage experiments with slow- and fast-coarsening gases show markedly different dynamics and elucidate the importance of the coupling of the two effects. Strong coarsening leads to drainage times that are shorter (accelerated drainage) and independent of the initial liquid content (self-limiting drainage). A model incorporating the physics of both drainage and diffusive coarsening shows quantitative agreement with experiment.  相似文献

A coherent transverse dynamics of scattered speckle fields that arises upon propagation of tunable laser radiation through stationary optically inhomogeneous bulk media has been discovered. The dynamic photochromic speckle effect can be observed experimentally if the deviation of the laser radiation frequency is comparable with or greater than the effective phase delays arising upon scattering of waves in a random or partly organized medium. It was found experimentally that, with an increase in the frequency tuning range of a probing laser diode (λ = 650 nm) or a compact YAG:Nd laser (λ = 532 μm), which can reach hundreds of gigahertz for multiply scattering bulk media from several millimeters to two centimeters thick (fluoroplastic phantoms), the two-dimensional correlation coefficient of speckle structures decreased monotonically, and the characteristic drop for thicker structures was observed at smaller frequency detunings.  相似文献

为研究高速摄影中激光相干噪声的影响因素,降低激光照明中散斑噪声对高速摄影成像质量的影响,对激光照射表面的粗糙程度与形成的散斑场统计特性之间的关系进行了研究。基于菲涅尔-基尔霍夫衍射原理,分析了高斯光束入射在随机粗糙表面上经反射形成的散斑图样,通过对大量散斑图样的数据统计,得出了激光散斑的信噪比、自相关函数、概率密度函数与入射表面粗糙度之间的变化关系。计算结果表明:粗糙度的增大使散斑场信噪比降低、相干程度减小、概率密度降低,即表面越粗糙散斑噪声越严重。  相似文献

We show by means of experiments, theory, and simulations that the slow dynamics of coarsening systems displays dynamic heterogeneity similar to that observed in glass-forming systems. We measure dynamic heterogeneity via novel multipoint functions which quantify the emergence of dynamic, as opposed to static, correlations of fluctuations. Experiments are performed on a coarsening foam using time-resolved correlation, a recently introduced light scattering method. Theoretically we study the Ising model, and present exact results in one dimension, and numerical results in two dimensions. For all systems the same dynamic scaling of fluctuations with domain size is observed.  相似文献

Experiments are presented elucidating how the evolution of foam microstructure by gas diffusion from high to low pressure bubbles can significantly speed up the rate of gravitational drainage, and vice versa. This includes detailed data on the liquid-fraction dependence of the coarsening rate, and on the liquid-fraction and the bubble-size profiles across a sample. These results can be described by a "coarsening equation" for the increase of bubble growth rate for drier foams. Spatial variation of the average bubble size and liquid fraction can also affect the growth and drainage rates.  相似文献

在激光鼠标工作原理的基础上,利用数字散斑相关方法对激光鼠标的定位原理进行了研究。设计实验得到散斑场并用数码相机拍摄。用图像采集卡采集CCD扫描数散斑图像得到的图像,将图像数字化,分析数据得到了图像最优采样的像素单元和图像位移两个参量。基于两个参量,实验采集散斑图像在一定的轨迹运动下的散斑场,用Matlab软件模拟,并比较分析了实验和模拟结果。结果表明,用数字散斑相关方法可以实现激光鼠标的定位功能,并且分辨力可达到1μm,远高于市场上激光鼠标30μm的分辨力。  相似文献

A two-dimensional Fourier transform analysis is presented for numerically processing the Young's fringes diffraction pattern from a double- exposure speckle photograph. The fringe spacing and orientation are determined using only one Young's fringes pattern without any other diffraction halo patterns. This algorithm is based on the 2-D FFT of the fringe pattern with 256 × 256 pixels. Therefore, it enables automatic analysis to be performed on specklegram with noisy and poor fringe patterns. The measurement of deformation by the laser speckle method can be carried out with high accuracy, reliability and speed.  相似文献

The influence of spatial and temporal coherence, as well as speckle dynamics, on animal organisms is studied in detail. Our theoretical and experimental studies reveal no biophysical evidence of the influence of light coherence on living systems at any level, as well as no specific effects caused by laser radiation. The effects of laser therapy used for treatment of a wide range of diseases of humans require further detailed investigation and possibly a revision of the existing concept.  相似文献

在散斑和半导体激光器的自混合干涉理论的基础上,提出了基于法布里一珀罗腔的自混合散斑干涉模型,对粗糙表面产生的激光器内自混合散斑干涉效应(SMSI)进行了详细的理论研究和分析,得到了粗糙腔条件下的激光动力学的数值解。模拟产生了高斯相关随机表面及其在夫琅禾费面上产生的散斑场,以及该散斑场与相干光场叠加所形成的光场,分析了这些情况中光强的统计特征,与已知实验情况进行了对比,模拟结果与已知统计结果相同。给出了粗糙表面运动时激光器输出增益的变化及其概率密度分布。对由于照明宽度和外腔长度的变化而给粗糙表面运动时激光器输出增益变化带来的影响进行了分析。实验结果和模拟结果相符。  相似文献

Drainage and coarsening are two coupled phenomena during the evolution of wet foam. We show the variation in the growth rate of bubble size, along the height in a column of Gillette shaving foam, by microscope imaging. Simultaneously, the drainage of liquid at the same heights has been investigated by Raman spectroscopic measurements. The observations made in these two sets of experiments indicate the coupling between drainage and coarsening in wet foam. We could explain the correlation between our observed data on drainage and coarsening by the empirical relation, proposed by others, in the literature.  相似文献

Angular dependence of speckle contrast of speckle pattern projected out of a multi-mode fiber connected to a high-power blue laser module is investigated. The laser module has nine high-power InGaN/GaN blue laser diodes arranged in a three-by-three array. Each of the arrayed laser diodes have slightly different incident angle to the fiber. We have successfully extracted the fine screen speckle pattern from the projected pattern mixed up with the coarse fiber speckle pattern by processing the measured data. It is found that the speckle contrast of the both screen and fiber speckles are larger around the center area where the guided-light component closest to the paraxial direction is projected. This is because the output of the center laser in the array is likely to couple into the paraxial mode more than the rest. Speckle contrast behaviors when applying the speckle reduction methods, fiber vibration, diffuser, and spinning diffuser are also investigated.  相似文献

In inertial confinement fusion research, uniform laser irradiation on a fusion target is a key issue. We propose a new method of beam smoothing in which we use three-directional spectral dispersion to reduce the coherent speckle that is unavoidable in the usual two-directional spectral-dispersion scheme. We have used this smoothing technique in a Nd:glass laser system and have demonstrated that the coherent speckle is reduced by a factor of 2.9 from that in two-directional spectral dispersion.  相似文献

We investigate the dynamics of bubble rearrangements in coarsening foams, using a time-resolved multiple light scattering technique. We measure the average duration of such events as a function of the foam confinement pressure. Rearrangements slow down as the pressure is decreased toward the jamming point. Our results are explained by a scaling law based on the balance of pressure and Darcy flow, highlighting an analogy between wet foams with mobile interfaces and suspensions of hard grains.  相似文献

噪声是影响激光相干场高分辨成像系统像质的重要因素,激光相干场成像系统既受背景光加性噪声影响,又受激光乘性散斑噪声影响.为解决激光相干场成像系统受激光乘性散斑噪声和背景光加性噪声叠加引起的成像像质退化效应问题,从噪声抑制角度提高激光相干场系统高分辨成像像质,研究建立了激光散斑乘性噪声和背景光加性噪声对大气下行链路激光回波场信号影响干扰模型,并基于该模型提出了一种基于同态滤波和稀疏基追踪级联复合去噪算法.首先基于同态滤波理论将激光乘性散斑噪声转化为加性噪声,再由高通滤波器滤除散斑噪声,最后采用基追踪稀疏理论方法抑制背景光等加性噪声对像质的影响.研究表明,较现有单一去噪方法,该级联复合去噪方法可一次性消除激光乘性散斑噪声和背景加性噪声两种不同性质的噪声,有效改善了激光相干场成像质量.  相似文献

The reduction mechanism of speckles appearing in laser-microscope images is studied theoretically and experimentally when an object is illuminated by laser light through a rotating multimode optical fiber. The principle of the speckle reduction is based on independent addition of microscope images with boiling-like speckles as a result of the rotational motion of the optical fiber used for illumination. Especially, the speckle reduction is evaluated from first-order statistics of the speckle intensity in which its saturation effect is taken into consideration.  相似文献

成像型任意反射面速度干涉仪(VISAR)是激光驱动聚变实验中诊断冲击波速度的重要设备。由于采用了激光照明靶面的方式,所获得的速度条纹图中不可避免有激光散斑的干扰,严重影响动态条纹的质量。介绍了该系统的激光散斑形成原因和散斑对速度分析的影响,提出了一种频谱面滤波的方式去除高频散斑噪声的方法,并通过搭建散斑光路、合理设置滤波孔位置和大小,对该方法进行了验证。结果表明,该方法对影响条纹图的高频散斑噪声具有抑制作用,适合应用于成像型VISAR系统。  相似文献

Designer foams find applications in a wide range of industries. Foam quality is mostly determined by its complex cellular structure which defines its texture, rheology and stability. In addition to formulation design, the formation process is crucial to the development of a foam with an optimum structure. There is, therefore, a need for techniques that can assist in the generation of controlled foam structures. The work described in this paper demonstrates the potential of using high-intensity ultrasound to control foam structure during production. Foam generated in the presence of ultrasound usually exhibits a narrower bubble size distribution, i.e. a more uniform texture. Such enhanced homogeneity in texture is desirable to reduce the presence of aesthetically unattractive large cavities, and to reduce the destabilising effects of foam coarsening. In addition, a smaller mean bubble size and a slower rate of foam collapse usually result when ultrasound is applied. The work shows the effects on foams stabilised with different surfactants.  相似文献

We present the results of two experiments where cold cesium atoms are trapped in a speckle field. In the first experiment, a YAG laser creates the speckle pattern and induces a far-detuned dipole potential which is a nearly-conservative potential. Localization of atoms near the intensity maxima of the speckle field is observed. In a second experiment we use two counterpropagating laser beams tuned close to a resonance line of cesium and in the linlin configuration, one of them being modulated by a holographic diffuser that creates the speckle field. Three-dimensional cooling is observed. Variations of the temperature and of the spatial diffusion coefficient with the size of a speckle grain are presented.
