The intercalation of amino acids for the Zn-Al-layered double hydroxide (LDH) has been investigated by the calcination-rehydration reaction at 298 K using mainly phenylalanine (Phe) as a guest amino acid. The Zn-Al oxide precursor prepared by the calcination of Zn-Al-carbonated LDH at 773 K for 2 h was used as the host material. The amount of Phe intercalated by the rehydration was remarkably influenced by the initial solution pH and reached ca. 2.7 times for anion exchange capacity (AEC) of the LDH at neutral and weak alkaline solutions, suggesting that Phe was intercalated as amphoteric ion form into the LDH interlayer. As Phe is intercalated for the LDH as monovalent anion in alkaline solution, the amount of Phe intercalated at pH 10.5 corresponded with AEC of the LDH. The solid products were found to have the expanded LDH structure, which confirmed that Phe was intercalated into the LDH interlayer as amphoteric ion or anion form. The basal spacing, d003, of the Phe/LDH was 1.58 nm at pH 7.0 and 0.80 nm at pH 10.5; two kinds of expansion suggested for Phe in the interlayer space as vertical (pH 7.0) and horizontal (pH 10.5) orientations. The intercalation behavior of various amino acids for the LDH was also found to be greatly influenced by the feature of the amino acid side-chain, namely, its carbon-chain length, structure and physicochemical property. In particular, α-amino acids possessing a hydrophobic or negative-charged side-chain were preferentially intercalated for the LDH.  相似文献

Hydrotalcite-like compounds are often used as host structures for intercalation of various anionic species. The product intercalated with the nonionic, water-soluble pharmaceuticals paracetamol, N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acetamide, was prepared by rehydration of the Mg-Al mixed oxide obtained by calcination of hydrotalcite-like precursor at 500 °C. The successful intercalation of paracetamol molecules into the interlayer space was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy measurements. Molecular simulations showed that the phenolic hydroxyl groups of paracetamol interact with hydroxide sheets of the host via the hydroxyl groups of the positively charged sites of Al-containing octahedra; the interlayer water molecules are located mostly near the hydroxide sheets. The arrangement of paracetamol molecules in the interlayer is rather disordered and interactions between neighboring molecules cause their tilting towards the hydroxide sheets. Dissolution tests in various media showed slower release of paracetamol intercalated in the hydrotalcite-like host in comparison with tablets containing the powdered pharmaceuticals.  相似文献

The intercalation of water-soluble p-sulfonated calix[4 and 6]arene (CS4 and CS6) in the interlayer of the Mg-Al and Zn-Al layered double hydroxide (LDH) by the coprecipitation method has been investigated, as well as the adsorption properties of the resulting CS/LDHs for benzyl alcohol (BA) and p-nitrophenol (NP) to prepare new microporous organic-inorganic hybrid adsorbents. The amount and arrangement of CS intercalated was different by the kind of the host metal ions. CS4 cavity axis was perpendicular for the Mg-Al LDH basal layer and parallel for the Zn-Al LDH basal layer, while CS6 cavity axis was perpendicular for both the LDH basal layers. In the BET surface area measurement, the surface area of the Zn-Al/CS4/LDH was four times than that of the Mg-Al/CS4/LDH, expecting that the former has higher adsorption capacity than the latter. In fact, the adsorption ability of the CS/LDHs for BA and NP in aqueous solution was found to be larger in the Zn-Al/CS4/LDH than in the Mg-Al/CS4/LDH. In addition, the adsorption ability of both the LDHs was larger in the CS6/LDHs than in the CS4/LDHs. These results were explained by the difference in the amount and arrangement of CS intercalated in the LDH interlayer space.  相似文献

An organic UV absorber has been intercalated into a layered double hydroxide (LDH) host by ion-exchange method using ZnAl-NO3-LDH as a precursor with an aqueous solution of the sodium salt of 5-benzotriazolyl-4-hydroxy-3-sec-butylbenzenesulfonic acid (BZO). After intercalation of the UV absorber, the interlayer distance in the LDHs increases from 0.89 to 2.32 nm. Infrared spectra and thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) curves reveal the presence of a complex system of supramolecular host-guest interactions. The thermostability of BZO is markedly enhanced by intercalation in the LDH host. ZnAl-BZO-LDHs/polypropylene composite materials exhibit excellent UV photostability.  相似文献

The anticancerous drug methotrexate (MTX) has been intercalated into an ZnAl-layered double hydroxide (LDH) using an anion exchange technique to produce LDH-MTX hybrids having particle sizes in the range of 100-300 nm. X-ray diffraction studies revealed increases in the basal spacings of ZnAl-LDH-MTX hybrid on MTX intercalation. This was corroborated by the transmission electron micrographs, which showed an increase in average interlayer spacing from 8.9 Å in pristine LDH to 21.3 Å in LDH-MTX hybrid. Thermogravimetric analyses showed an increase in the decomposition temperature for the MTX molecule in the LDH-MTX hybrid indicating enhanced thermal stability of the drug molecule in the LDH nanovehicle. The cumulative release profile of MTX from ZnAl-LDH-MTX hybrids in phosphate buffer saline (PBS) at pH 7.4 was successfully sustained for 48 h following Rigter-Peppas model release kinetics via diffusion.  相似文献

An organic UV absorbent has been intercalated into a layered double hydroxide (LDH) host by ion exchange of a Zn-Al-LDH-nitrate precursor with a solution of 2,3-dihydroxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid (DNSA) sodium salt in water. After intercalation of the UV absorbent, the powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern shows that the interlayer distance in the LDHs increases from 0.90 to 1.59 nm. The possible structure is that the interlayer DNSA anions arrange in a monolayer and in a perpendicular orientation toward the hydroxide layers. Infrared spectra and TG-DTA curves reveal the presence of a complex system of supramolecular host-guest interactions between layers. The thermal stability of the intercalated UV absorbent was investigated by TG-DTA and it was found that this material is more stable than the original organic UV absorbent at high temperature, showing that the thermostability is markedly enhanced after intercalation into the LDH host. The UV absorbent-intercalated LDHs exhibit excellent UV photostability in polypropylene composites.  相似文献

A large anionic pigment has been intercalated into a layered double hydroxide (LDH) host by ion-exchange of an Mg/Al LDH-nitrate precursor with a solution of C.I. Pigment Red 48:2 (the calcium salt of 4-((5-chloro-4-methyl-2-sulfophenyl)azo)-3-hydroxy-2-naphthalene-carboxylic acid), in ethane-1,2-diol. After intercalation of the pigment, the interlayer distance in the LDH increases from 0.86 to 1.72 nm. Infrared spectra and TG-DTA curves reveal the presence of a complex system of supramolecular host-guest interactions. The UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectra of C.I. Pigment Red 48:2 show marked changes after heating at 200 °C and above, whereas there are no significant changes in the spectra of the intercalated pigment after heating at temperatures up to 300 °C, showing that the thermostability is markedly enhanced by intercalation in the LDH host. The pigment-intercalated LDHs exhibits much higher photostability to UV light than the pristine pigment, in the case of both the pure solids and their composites with polypropylene, as shown by measurement of CIE 1976 L*a*b* color difference (ΔE) values.  相似文献

5, 5′-Thiodisalicylic acid (TDSA) has been intercalated into a ZnAl-NO3 layered double hydroxide (LDH) by an ion-exchange reaction. After intercalation of TDSA, the basal spacing in the LDH increased from 0.89 to 1.53 nm, suggesting that the TDSA anions were arranged in the interlayer galleries of ZnAl-TDSA-LDH as a tilted monolayer arrangement of dianions. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis (TGA-DTA), and UV-Visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis). The results show that the NO3 anions in the precursor have been completely replaced by TDSA anions to give ZnAl-TDSA-LDH having crystalline-layered structure. Detailed studies reveal the presence of a complex system of supramolecular interactions between LDH layers and TDSA anions. TGA-DTA curves suggest that the thermostability of TDSA was markedly enhanced by intercalation in the LDH host. Photostability tests show that the film of ZnAl-TDSA-LDH/PP possessed higher stability to UV radiation than either the film of TDSA/PP or pristine PP.  相似文献

Intercalations of mercaptocarboxylic acid and dithiodicarboxylic acid in Mg-Al layered double hydroxide and their adsorption properties for heavy metal ions were examined. During the intercalation of mercaptocarboxylic acids, mercapto group was oxidized, and the corresponding dithiodicarboxylic acids were intercalated in the interlayer space of Mg-Al layered double hydroxide. The intercalation compounds adsorbed mercury and silver ions effectively, whereas there was no adsorption of copper ion practically.  相似文献

An MgAl-NO3-layered double hydroxide (LDH) precursor has been prepared by a method involving separate nucleation and aging steps (SNAS). Reaction with iminodiacetic acid (IDA) under weakly acidic conditions led to the replacement of the interlayer nitrate anions by iminodiacetic acid anions. The product was characterized by XRD, FT-IR, TG-DTA, ICP, elemental analysis and SEM. The results show that the original interlayer nitrate anions of LDHs precursor were replaced by iminodiacetic acid anions and that the resulting intercalation product MgAl-IDA-LDH has an ordered crystalline structure. MgAl-IDA-LDH was mixed with low density polyethylene (LDPE) using a masterbatch method. LDPE films filled with MgAl-IDA-LDH showed a higher mid to far infrared absorption than films filled with MgAl-CO3-LDH in the 7-25 μm range, particularly in the key 9-11 μm range required for application in agricultural plastic films.  相似文献

We report the preparation of mesoporous mixed metal oxides (MMOs) through a soft template method. Different amounts of P123 were used as structure directing agent to synthesize P123-templated Mg-Al layered double hydroxides (LDHs). After calcination of as-synthesized LDHs at 500 °C, the ordered mesopores were obtained by removal of P123. The mesoporous Mg-Al MMOs fabricated by using 2 wt% P123 exhibited a high specific surface area of 108.1 m2/g, and wide distribution of pore size (2-18 nm). An investigation of the “memory effect” of the mesoporous MMOs revealed that they were successfully reconstructed to ibuprofen intercalated LDHs having different gallery heights, which indicated different intercalation capacities. Due to their mesoporosity these unique MMOs have particular potential as drug or catalyst carriers.  相似文献

In this work the synthesis and characterization of a magnetic composite is described. It was prepared by deposition of Nap‐Mg‐Al‐LDH on Fe3O4 by a coprecipitation method. The structures of the obtained products were studied by powder X‐ray diffraction, FT‐IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis. From the X‐ray diffraction results, it was found that Fe3O4 was successfully distributed into the layered double hydroxide (LDH) phase. Furthermore, the increase in the basal spacing of LDHs from 0.881 nm to 2.157 nm shows that naproxen was successfully intercalated into the interlayer space. The particle size was estimated using transmission electron microscopy. Thermogravimetric studies indicate that the thermal stability of naproxen was enhanced after intercalation. Moreover, in vitro drug release experiments in phosphate buffer solution (pH = 7.4) were investigated.  相似文献

Three representative nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug molecules, Ibuprofen, Diclofenac, and Indomethacin, have been intercalated within the galleries of an anionic clay, Mg-Al layered double hydroxide (LDH). X-ray diffraction, IR and Raman vibrational spectroscopy and (13)C cross-polarization magic-angle spinning NMR have been used to characterize the confined drug molecules, while molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were used to probe the interlayer structure, arrangement, orientation, and geometry of the intercalated species. All three drug molecules are arranged as bilayers in the interlamellar space of the anionic clay. But while the structure of the intercalated Ibuprofen is identical to that of the molecule outside the layers, spectroscopy as well as MD simulation shows that there is a change in the geometry of Diclofenac and Indomethacin upon confinement within the galleries of the LDH. The change in geometry of Diclofenac and Indomethacin upon intercalation is shown to originate from the electrostatic interaction between the electronegative chlorine atoms on the drug molecule and the positively charged metal hydroxide sheets of the anionic clay. It is shown that these changes in the geometry of the intercalated drug molecules allow for the observed interlayer spacing to be realized without the bilayers having to interdigitate, which would otherwise have been necessary if the structure of the drug molecules had remained identical to that outside the layers. Comparisons of experimental measurements with simulation have provided a more detailed understanding of the geometry and organization of flexible drug molecules confined in the anionic clay.  相似文献

A zinc/aluminum LDH was precipitated with recycled ammonia from a chemical vapor deposition reaction. The LDH presented a crystalline phase with basal distance of 8.9 Å, typical for nitrate-containing LDHs, and another phase with a basal distance of 13.9 Å. Thermal treatment at 150 °C eliminated the phase with the bigger basal distance leaving only the anhydrous nitrate-intercalated LDH structure with 8.9 Å. Intense N-H stretching modes in the FTIR spectra suggested that the expansion was due to intercalation of ammonia in the form of [NH4(NH3)n]+ species. When additional samples were precipitated with pure ammonia, the conventional LDH nitrate structure was obtained (8.9 Å basal distance) at pH=7, as well as a pure crystalline phase with 13.9 Å basal distance at pH=10 due to ammonia intercalation that can be removed by heating at 150 °C or by stirring in acetone, confirming a unusual sensu stricto intercalation process into a LDH without exchanging nitrate ions.  相似文献

In this study, we have demonstrated the synthesis and delamination of a rarely studied NiGa layered double hydroxide (LDH) system. Hydrothermal treatment under agitation conditions at 200 °C for 4 h resulted in the formation of highly crystalline NiGa LDHs in a shorter time than those synthesized without agitation. The LDH was delaminated into the individual nanosheets in formamide. The most significant finding in this study is the electrochemical behavior of interlayer ferricyanide anions intercalated with the layer-by-layer (LBL) assembly method. The morphology of LBL film with one layer is also monitored with atomic force microscopy. The cyclic voltammogram is similar to potassium metal hexacyanoferrate systems with its unique two-peak wave. Raman spectrum of the film revealed that the metal center of the interlayer cyano complex is in interaction with the Ni2+ of the host layer. It was concluded that the two-peak cyclic voltammogram of the film is a result of two different forms of the hexacyanoferrate in the interlayer.

2,5-dichloro-4-(5-hydroxy-3-methyl-4-(sulphophenylazo) pyrazol-1-yl) benzenesulphonate (DHSB) anions, namely acid yellow 17 anions, have been successfully intercalated into Zn-Al layered double hydroxides (LDH) to produce a novel organic-inorganic pigment by a simple method involving separate nucleation and aging steps (SNAS), and the dye-intercalated LDH was analyzed by various techniques, e.g., XRD, SEM, FT-IR, TG-DTA and ICP. The d-spacing of the prepared LDH is 2.09 nm. Furthermore, the incorporation of the DHSB aims to enhance the thermal- and photo-stability of the guest dye molecule, for example, the less color change after accelerated thermal- and photo-aging test.  相似文献

Carboxy-methyl beta-cyclodextrin (CMCD) cavities have been intercalated within the galleries of anionic clay, Mg-Al layered double hydroxide (LDH). The cyclodextrin functionalized LDH has been reported to adsorb neutral and nonpolar guest molecules. X-ray diffraction, IR, and Raman vibrational spectroscopy and (13)C CPMAS NMR have been used to characterize the confined CMCD molecules, whereas molecular dynamics simulations have been used to probe the interlayer arrangement and orientation of the intercalated species. Spectroscopic measurements as well as MD simulations show that there is no significant change in the geometry of the CMCD cavity on intercalation. Within the galleries of the anionic clay, the CMCD anions are arranged as bilayers with the carboxy methyl substituents, located at the narrower opening of the bucket-like cyclodextrin toroid, anchored to the LDH sheet. This arrangement leaves the wider opening of the CMCD anion facing away from the layers allowing the interior of the cyclodextrin cavity to be accessible to guest molecules. Finally, the hydrophobicity of the anchored cyclodextrin cavity has been characterized using fluorescence from pyrene included within it.  相似文献

The inner surfaces of inorganic layered compounds such as aluminium dihydrogen-triphosphate (ADHP) and layered double hydroxide (LDH) were modified by azo compounds. Upon intercalation of 4-phenylazoaniline and 4,4-azodianiline into ADHP, the interlayer spacing increased from 6.4 to 21.5 Å and 20.6 Å, respectively. The intensity of IR peaks due to P-–OH of ADHP and amino groups of guests decreased by the thermal treatment of the intercalates. The interlayer spacings also decreased to 16.9 Å and 16.7 Å, respectively, indicating a dehydration reaction between P–-OH and amino groups. The LDH inner surface was modified by the reaction with trans-p-phenylazobenzoylchloride (PAB-Cl). Upon surface modification, the interlayer spacing increased from 7.6 Å to about 27 Å. The absorption of this surface-modified LDH near 410 nm increased upon irradiation with UV light and decreased upon irradation with visible light, indicating the occurrence of trans–cis isomerization of PAB-Cl between the layers.  相似文献
