Gap functions play a crucial role in transforming a variational inequality problem into an optimization problem. Then, methods solving an optimization problem can be exploited for finding a solution of a variational inequality problem. It is known that the so-called prevariational inequality is closely related to some generalized convex functions, such as linear fractional functions. In this paper, gap functions for several kinds of prevariational inequalities are investigated. More specifically, prevariational inequalities, extended prevariational inequalities, and extended weak vector prevariational inequalities are considered. Furthermore, a class of gap functions for inequality constrained prevariational inequalities is investigated via a nonlinear Lagrangian.  相似文献

Jensen-Steffensen type inequalities for P-convex functions and functions with nondecreasing increments are presented. The obtained results are used to prove a generalization of ?eby?ev’s inequality and several variants of Hölder’s inequality with weights satisfying the conditions as in the Jensen-Steffensen inequality. The generalized trigonometric functions occur as an eigenfunction of the Dirichlet problem for the one-dimensional pp-Laplacian. The generalized hyperbolic functions are defined similarly. Some classical inequalities for trigonometric and hyperbolic functions, such as Mitrinovi?–Adamovi?’s inequality, Lazarevi?’s inequality, Huygens-type inequalities, Wilker-type inequalities, and Cusa–Huygens-type inequalities, are generalized to the case of generalized functions.  相似文献

We present several integral and exponential inequalities for formal power series and for both arbitrary entire functions of exponential type and generalized Borel transforms. They are obtained through certain limit procedures which involve the multiparameter binomial inequalities, integral inequalities for continuous functions, and weighted norm inequalities for analytic functions. Some applications to the confluent hypergeometric functions, Bessel functions, Laguerre polynomials, and trigonometric functions are discussed. Also some generalizations are given.  相似文献

The theory of gap functions, developed in the literature for variational inequalities, is extended to a general equilibrium problem. Descent methods, with exact an inexact line-search rules, are proposed. It is shown that these methods are a generalization of the gap function algorithms for variational inequalities and optimization problems.  相似文献

We present a new way to solve generalized Nash equilibrium problems. We assume the feasible set to be compact. Furthermore all functions are assumed to be polynomials. However we do not impose convexity on either the utility functions or the action sets. The key idea is to use Putinar’s Positivstellensatz, a representation result for positive polynomials, to replace each agent’s problem by a convex optimization problem. The Nash equilibria are then feasible solutions to a system of polynomial equations and inequalities. Our application is a model of the New Zealand electricity spot market with transmission losses based on a real dataset.  相似文献

Dual feasible functions have been used to compute bounds and valid inequalities for combinatorial optimization problems. Here, we analyze the properties of some of the best functions proposed so far. Dual feasible functions are used to get valid inequalities and lower bounds for integer linear problems. In this paper, we provide a simpler proof for maximality, and we describe new results concerning the extremality of functions from the literature. In the present paper, we introduce and investigate classes of analytic functions involving the Srivastava-Attiya operator. Basic properties for β-uniformly starlike functions of order γ are studied, such as inclusion relations, sufficient conditions, coefficient inequalities and distortion inequalities. The results are also extended to β-uniformly convex, close-to-convex, and quasi-convex functions. Relevant connections of the results presented here with those obtained in earlier works are also pointed out.  相似文献

A generalization of classical determinant inequalities like Hadamard's inequality and Fischer's inequality is studied. For a version of the inequalities originally proved by Arveson for positive operators in von Neumann algebras with a tracial state, we give a different proof. We also improve and generalize to the setting of finite von Neumann algebras, some ‘Fischer-type’ inequalities by Matic for determinants of perturbed positive-definite matrices. In the process, a conceptual framework is established for viewing these inequalities as manifestations of Jensen's inequality in conjunction with the theory of operator monotone and operator convex functions on [0,). We place emphasis on documenting necessary and sufficient conditions for equality to hold.  相似文献

Two decoupling type inequalities for functions of Gaussian vectors are proved. In both cases, it turns out that the case of linear functions is the extreme one.
