A novel approach to the design of dirhodium(II) tetracarboxylates derived from (S)‐amino acid ligands is reported. The approach is founded on tailoring the steric influences of the overall catalyst structure by reducing the local symmetry of the ligand's N‐heterocyclic tether. The application of the new approach has led to the uncovering of [Rh2(StertPTTL)4] as a new member of the dirhodium(II) family with extraordinary selectivity in cyclopropanation reactions. The stereoselectivity of [Rh2(StertPTTL)4] was found to be comparable to that of [Rh2(S‐PTAD)4] (up to >99 % ee), with the extra benefit of being more synthetically accessible. Correlations based on X‐ray structures to justify the observed enantioinduction are also discussed.  相似文献

The Pd(0) complexes [(NHC)PdL(n)] (NHC=N-heterocyclic carbene ligand; L=styrene for n=2 or PR(3) for n=1) efficiently catalyse olefin cyclopropanation by using ethyl diazoacetate (EDA) as the carbene source with activities that improve on previously described catalytic systems based on this metal. Mechanistic studies have shown that all of these catalyst precursors deliver the same catalytic species in solution, that is, [(IPr)Pd(sty)], a 14e(-) unsaturated intermediate that further reacts with EDA to afford [(IPr)Pd(=CHCO(2)Et)(sty)], from which the cyclopropane is formed.  相似文献

We report the use of three enantiomerically pure and electronically tuned ruthenium carbonyl porphyrin catalysts for the asymmetric cyclopropanation and epoxidation of a variety of olefinic substrates. The D(4)-symmetric ligands carry a methoxy, a methyl or a trifluoromethyl group at the 10-position of each of the 9-[anti-(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8-octahydro-1,4:5,8-dimethanoanthracene)]-substituents at the meso-positions of the porphyrin. Introduction of a CF(3)-substituent in this remote position resulted in greatly improved catalyst stability, and turnover numbers of up to 7500 were achieved for cyclopropanation, and up to 14,200 for epoxidation, with ee values typically >90 % and approximately equal to 80 %, respectively. In one example, the axial CO ligand at the ruthenium was exchanged for PF(3), resulting in the first chiral ruthenium porphyrin with a PF(3) ligand reported to date. In cyclopropanations with ethyl diazoacetate, the latter catalyst performed exceedingly well, and gave a 95 % ee in the case of 1,1-diphenylethylene as substrate.  相似文献

Copper complexes with chiral iminopyridine ligands were screened for their catalytic efficiency in carbene (cyclopropanation) and nitrene transfer reactions (aziridination, C? H amidation). Both pre‐formed and in situ formed complexes were considered. The results highlighted the poor catalytic efficiency of these complexes in cyclopropanation reactions employing methyl phenyldiazoacetate as the carbene source, whereas better results were obtained in nitrene transfer reactions, particularly in the amidation of C? H bonds, albeit the enantioselectivity of the reactions was negligible in nearly all cases. Finally, copper complexes were also found to promote an interesting oxidative functionalization of alkynes with PhI(OAc)2 at room temperature. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The formation of polysubstituted cyclopropane derivatives in the gold(I)-catalyzed reaction of olefins and propargylic esters is a potentially useful transformation to generate diversity, therefore any method in which its stereoselectivity could be controlled is of significant interest. We prepared and tested a series of chiral gold(I)-carbene complexes as a catalyst in this transformation. With a systematic optimization of the reaction conditions, we were able to achieve high enantioselectivity in the test reaction while the cis:trans selectivity of the transformation was independent of the catalyst. Using the optimized conditions, we reacted a series of various olefins and acetylene derivatives to find that, although the reactions proceeded smoothly and the products were usually isolated in good yield and with good to exclusive cis selectivity, the observed enantioselectivity varied greatly and was sometimes moderate at best. We were unable to establish any structure-property relationship, which suggests that for any given reagent combination, one has to identify individually the best catalyst.  相似文献

This review focuses on a new approach to combinatorial homogeneous transition-metal catalysis which goes beyond the traditional parallel preparation of modular ligands. It is based on the use of mixtures of monodentate ligands L(a) and L(b), which upon exposure to a transition metal (M) form not only the two homocombinations [ML(a)L(a)] and [ML(b)L(b)], but also the heterocombination [ML(a)L(b)]. If the latter is more reactive and selective than the homocombinations, an improved catalyst system is formed without the need to synthesize new ligands. Thus, the control of enantio,- diastereo-, and regioselectivity is possible.  相似文献

New enantiomerically pure phenanthroline- and bipyridine-containing macrocycles have been synthesized by combination of the coordinating unit to inexpensive and readily available chiral templates. The catalytic properties of their Cu(I) complexes have been studied in the cyclopropanation of alkenes as test reaction. A simple structural modification of the chiral cavity allowed us to successfully control the trans or cis diastereoselectivity of the reaction.  相似文献

This contribution reports the discovery and application of phenoxy-imine-based catalysts for olefin polymerization. Ligand-oriented catalyst design research has led to the discovery of remarkably active ethylene polymerization catalysts (FI Catalysts), which are based on electronically flexible phenoxy-imine chelate ligands combined with early transition metals. Upon activation with appropriate cocatalysts, FI Catalysts can exhibit unique polymerization catalysis (e.g., precise control of product molecular weights, highly isospecific and syndiospecific propylene polymerization, regio-irregular polymerization of higher alpha-olefins, highly controlled living polymerization of both ethylene and propylene at elevated temperatures, and precise control over polymer morphology) and thus provide extraordinary opportunities for the syntheses of value-added polymers with distinctive architectural characteristics. Many of the polymers that are available via the use of FI Catalysts were previously inaccessible through other means of polymerization. For example, FI Catalysts can form vinyl-terminated low molecular weight polyethylenes, ultra-high molecular weight amorphous ethylene-propylene copolymers and atactic polypropylenes, highly isotactic and syndiotactic polypropylenes with exceptionally high peak melting temperatures, well-defined and controlled multimodal polyethylenes, and high molecular weight regio-irregular poly(higher alpha-olefin)s. In addition, FI Catalysts combined with MgCl(2)-based compounds can produce polymers that exhibit desirable morphological features (e.g., very high bulk density polyethylenes and highly controlled particle-size polyethylenes) that are difficult to obtain with conventionally supported catalysts. In addition, FI Catalysts are capable of creating a large variety of living-polymerization-based polymers, including terminally functionalized polymers and block copolymers from ethylene, propylene, and higher alpha-olefins. Furthermore, some of the FI Catalysts can furnish living-polymerization-based polymers catalytically by combination with appropriate chain transfer agents. Therefore, the development of FI Catalysts has enabled some crucial advances in the fields of polymerization catalysis and polymer syntheses.  相似文献

A series of novel quasi‐scorpionate CNC donor ligands, MeC(2‐C5H4N){CH2(imidazole‐R)} (R = methyl, n‐butyl, n‐propenyl), in which a chelating bis(NHC) core is supplemented by a hemi‐labile pyridyl donor, were prepared. The coordination chemistry of these ligands was investigated with silver, palladium, rhodium and iridium. The single crystal X‐ray structures of [Rh(NC2Me)(COD)]Cl 8a and [Ir(NC2Pr)(COD)]Br 9b were determined. The catalytic potential of the rhodium and iridium complexes was assessed in the transfer hydrogenation of ketones; the iridium complexes, which show superior performance, form very effective and stable catalysts. First polysulfoximine was synthesized and characterized. 4-Phenoxybenzenesulfonimidoyl chloride was prepared by the reaction of 4-phenoxybenzenesulfinyl chloride with anhydrous chloramine T. Acid-catalyzed polycondensation of the sulfonimidoyl chloride with 10% of anhydrous ferric chloride in nitrobenzene at 120°C for 48 h afforded 80% yield of polysulfoximine having tosyl group at the nitrogen atom (NTs derivative). The spectral characteristics of the NTs derivative suggested occurrence of the regioselective polycondenstion. The NTs derivative was treated with conc. sulfuric acid followed by neutralization with sodium hydroxide to give corresponding “free” polysulfoximine having hydrogen atom at the nitrogen atom (NH derivative) in 80% conversion. Benzylated derivative (NBz derivative) was obtained by benzylation of the NH derivative with benzyl chloride. Thermal properties of these polysulfoximines were examined.  相似文献
