In this paper we develop an algorithm to optimise a nonlinear utility function of multiple objectives over the integer efficient set. Our approach is based on identifying and updating bounds on the individual objectives as well as the optimal utility value. This is done using already known solutions, linear programming relaxations, utility function inversion, and integer programming. We develop a general optimisation algorithm for use with k objectives, and we illustrate our approach using a tri-objective integer programming problem.  相似文献

Comparison of solutions in combinatorial problems is often based on an additive cost function inducing a complete order on solutions. We investigate here a generalization of the problem, where preferences take the form of a quasi-transitive binary relation defined on the solutions space. We first propose preference-based search algorithms for two classical combinatorial problems, namely the preferred spanning trees problem (a generalization of the minimum spanning tree problem) and the preferred paths problem (a generalization of the shortest path problem). Then, we introduce a very useful axiom for preference relations called independence. Using this axiom, we establish admissibility results concerning our preference-based search algorithms. Finally, we address the problem of dealing with non-independent preference relations and provide different possible solutions for different particular problems (e.g. lower approximation of the set of preferred solutions for multicriteria spanning trees problems, or relaxation of the independence axiom for interval-valued preferred path problems).  相似文献

Within the multicriteria aggregation–disaggregation framework, ordinal regression aims at inducing the parameters of a decision model, for example those of a utility function, which have to represent some holistic preference comparisons of a Decision Maker (DM). Usually, among the many utility functions representing the DM’s preference information, only one utility function is selected. Since such a choice is arbitrary to some extent, recently robust ordinal regression has been proposed with the purpose of taking into account all the sets of parameters compatible with the DM’s preference information. Until now, robust ordinal regression has been implemented to additive utility functions under the assumption of criteria independence. In this paper we propose a non-additive robust ordinal regression on a set of alternatives A, whose utility is evaluated in terms of the Choquet integral which permits to represent the interaction among criteria, modelled by the fuzzy measures, parameterizing our approach.  相似文献

We are interested in modeling interaction between criteria in multi-criteria decision making when underlying scales are bipolar. Interacting phenomena involving behavioral bias between attractive and repulsive values are in particular considered here. We show in an example that both the Choquet integral and the cumulative prospect theory (CPT) model fail to represent these interacting phenomena. Axioms that enable the construction of the preferences of the decision maker over each attribute, and the representation of his preferences about aggregation of criteria are introduced and justified. We show there is a unique aggregation operator that fits with these axioms. It is based on the notion of bi-capacity and generalizes both the Choquet integral and the CPT model.  相似文献

The Choquet integral preference model is adopted in Multiple Criteria Decision Aiding (MCDA) to deal with interactions between criteria, while the Stochastic Multiobjective Acceptability Analysis (SMAA) is an MCDA methodology considered to take into account uncertainty or imprecision on the considered data and preference parameters. In this paper, we propose to combine the Choquet integral preference model with the SMAA methodology in order to get robust recommendations taking into account all parameters compatible with the preference information provided by the Decision Maker (DM). In case the criteria are on a common scale, one has to elicit only a set of non-additive weights, technically a capacity, compatible with the DM’s preference information. Instead, if the criteria are on different scales, besides the capacity, one has to elicit also a common scale compatible with the preferences given by the DM. Our approach permits to explore the whole space of capacities and common scales compatible with the DM’s preference information.  相似文献

In this paper we tackle an important point of combinatorial optimisation: that of complexity theory when dealing with the counting or enumeration of optimal solutions. Complexity theory has been initially designed for decision problems and evolved over the years, for instance, to tackle particular features in optimisation problems. It has also evolved, more or less recently, towards the complexity of counting and enumeration problems and several complexity classes, which we review in this paper, have emerged in the literature. This kind of problems makes sense, notably, in the case of multicriteria optimisation where the aim is often to enumerate the set of the so-called Pareto optima. In the second part of this paper we review the complexity of multicriteria scheduling problems in the light of the previous complexity results. This paper appeared in 4OR 3(1), 1–21, 2005.  相似文献

This paper presents a special multiple criteria decision making approach for solving problems in context with fuzzy individual preferences. At first we briefly expose the proposed methodology. The individual preferences are explicitly given by a complete transitive relation R on a set of reference actions. The modelling of the decision-maker's preferences is obtained by means of fuzzy outranking relations. These fuzzy relations are based on a system of additive utility functions which are estimated by means of ordinal regression methods analysing the preference relation R.This is followed by a presentation of two real multicriteria problems which the proposed methodology has been applied to, i.e. a highway plan choice problem and a problem in marketing research dealing with the launching of a new product. In each application we tried to specify this method according to the specific structure of the problem considered.  相似文献

This paper is intended to design goal programming models for capturing the decision maker's (DM's) preference information and for supporting the search for the best compromise solutions in multiobjective optimization. At first, a linear goal programming model is built to estimate piecewise linear local utility functions based on pairwise comparisons of efficient solutions as well as objectives. The interactive step trade-off method (ISTM) is employed to generate a typical subset of efficient solutions of a multiobjective problem. Another general goal programming model is then constructed to embed the estimated utility functions in the original multiobjective problem for utility optimization using ordinary nonlinear programming algorithms. This technique, consisting of the ISTM method and the newly investigated search process, facilitates the identification and elimination of possible inconsistent information which may exist in the DM's preferences. It also provides various ways to carry out post-optimality analysis to test the robustness of the obtained best solutions. A modified nonlinear multiobjective management problem is taken as example to demonstrate the technique.  相似文献

A technique for finding MINSUM and MINMAX solutions to multi-criteria decision problems, called Multi Objective Dynamic Programming, capable of handling a wide range of linear, nonlinear, deterministic and stochastic multi-criteria decision problems, is presented and illustrated. Multiple objectives are considered by defining an adjoint state space and solving a (N + 1) terminal optimisation problem. The method efficiently generates both individual (criterion) optima and multiple criteria solutions in a single pass. Sensitivity analysis on weights over the various objectives is easily performed.  相似文献

We consider individual's portfolio selection problems. Introducing the concept of ambiguity, we show the existence of portfolio inertia under the assumptions that decision maker's beliefs are captured by an inner measure, and that her preferences are represented by the Choquet integral with respect to the inner measure. Under the concept of ambiguity, it is considered that a σ-algebra or even an algebra is not necessarily an appropriate collection of events to which a decision maker assigns probabilities. Furthermore, we study the difference between ambiguity and uncertainty by considering investors' behavior.  相似文献

In this paper we present a new framework for identifying preferred solutions to multi-objective binary optimisation problems. We develop the necessary theory which leads to new formulations that integrate the decision space with the space of criterion weights. The advantage of this is that it allows for incorporating preferences directly within a unique binary optimisation problem which identifies efficient solutions and associated weights simultaneously. We discuss how preferences can be incorporated within the formulations and also describe how to accommodate the selection of weights when the identification of a unique solution is required. Our results can be used for designing interactive procedures for the solution of multi-objective binary optimisation problems. We describe one such procedure for the multi-objective multi-dimensional binary knapsack formulation of the portfolio selection problem.  相似文献

In this paper, a new methodology is presented to solve different versions of multi-objective system redundancy allocation problems with prioritized objectives. Multi-objective problems are often solved by modifying them into equivalent single objective problems using pre-defined weights or utility functions. Then, a multi-objective problem is solved similar to a single objective problem returning a single solution. These methods can be problematic because assigning appropriate numerical values (i.e., weights) to an objective function can be challenging for many practitioners. On the other hand, methods such as genetic algorithms and tabu search often yield numerous non-dominated Pareto optimal solutions, which makes the selection of one single best solution very difficult. In this research, a tabu search meta-heuristic approach is used to initially find the entire Pareto-optimal front, and then, Monte-Carlo simulation provides a decision maker with a pruned and prioritized set of Pareto-optimal solutions based on user-defined objective function preferences. The purpose of this study is to create a bridge between Pareto optimality and single solution approaches.  相似文献

In the framework of multi-criteria decision making whose aggregation process is based on the Choquet integral, we present a maximum entropy like method enabling to determine, if it exists, the “least specific” capacity compatible with the initial preferences of the decision maker. The proposed approach consists in solving a strictly convex quadratic program whose objective function is equivalently either the opposite of a generalized entropy measure or the variance of the capacity. The application of the proposed approach is illustrated on two examples.  相似文献

This paper presents a new method for multiobjective optimisation based on gradient projection and local region search. The gradient projection is conducted through the identification of normal vectors of an efficient frontier. The projection of the gradient of a nonlinear utility function onto the tangent plane of the efficient frontier at a given efficient solution leads to the definition of a feasible local region in a neighbourhood of the solution. Within this local region, a better efficient solution may be sought. To implement such a gradient-based local region search scheme, a new auxiliary problem is developed. If the utility function is given explicitly, this search scheme results in an iterative optimisation algorithm capable of general nonseparable multiobjective optimisation. Otherwise, an interactive decision making algorithm is developed where the decision maker (DM) is expected to provide local preference information in order to determine trade-off directions and step sizes. Optimality conditions for the algorithms are established and the convergence of the algorithms is proven. A multiobjective linear programming (MOLP) problem is taken for example to demonstrate this method both graphically and analytically. A nonlinear multiobjective water quality management problem is finally examined to show the potential application of the method to real world decision problems.  相似文献

The application of multi-attribute utility theory based on the Choquet integral requires the prior identification of a capacity if the utility scale is unipolar, or of a bi-capacity if the utility scale is bipolar. In order to implement a minimum distance principle for capacity or bi-capacity approximation or identification, quadratic distances between capacities and bi-capacities are studied. The proposed approach, consisting in solving a strictly convex quadratic program, has been implemented within the GNU R kappalab package for capacity and nonadditive integral manipulation. Its application is illustrated on two examples.   相似文献

In this article, we establish the existence of optimal solutions for a large class of nonconvex infinite horizon discrete-time optimal control problems. This class contains optimal control problems arising in economic dynamics which describe a model with nonconcave utility functions representing the preferences of the planner.  相似文献
