In this article, we present a modern derivation of Jeffery’s equation for the motion of a small rigid body immersed in a Navier–Stokes flow, using methods of asymptotic analysis. While Jeffery’s result represents the leading order equations of a singularly perturbed flow problem involving ellipsoidal bodies, our formulation is for bodies of general shape and we also derive the equations of the next relevant order.   相似文献

This paper examines the problem of probabilistic characterization of nonlinear systems driven by normal and Poissonian white noise. By means of classical nonlinear transformation the stochastic differential equation driven by external input is transformed into a parametric-type stochastic differential equation. Such equations are commonly handled with Itô-type stochastic differential equations and Itô's rule is used to find the response statistics. Here a different approach is proposed, which mainly consists in transforming the Fokker–Planck equation for the original system driven by external input, in the transformed probability density function of the new state variable. It will be shown that the Wong–Zakay or Stratonovich corrective term and the hierarchy of correction terms in the case of Poissonian white noise arise in a natural way.  相似文献

Derivation of the Zakharov Equations   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This article continues the study, initiated in [27, 7], of the validity of the Zakharov model which describes Langmuir turbulence. We give an existence theorem for a class of singular quasilinear equations. This theorem is valid for prepared initial data. We apply this result to the Euler–Maxwell equations which describes laser-plasma interactions, to obtain, in a high-frequency limit, an asymptotic estimate that describes solutions of the Euler–Maxwell equations in terms of WKB approximate solutions, the leading terms of which are solutions of the Zakharov equations. Due to the transparency properties of the Euler–Maxwell equations evidenced in [27], this study is carried out in a supercritical (highly nonlinear) regime. In such a regime, resonances between plasma waves, electromagnetric waves and acoustic waves could create instabilities in small time. The key of this work is the control of these resonances. The proof involves the techniques of geometric optics of JOLY, MéTIVIER and RAUCH [12, 13]; recent results by LANNES on norms of pseudodifferential operators [14]; and a semiclassical paradifferential calculus.  相似文献

In this paper, we justify mathematically the derivation of the planetary geostrophic equations (PGE) from the hydrostatic Boussinesq equations with Coriolis force, usually named the primitive equations (PE). The planetary geostrophic equations, which are a classical model of thermohaline circulation, are obtained from the primitive equations as the Froude number Fr, the Rossby number , and the Burger number Bu go to 0. These numbers are supposed to satisfy and which is relevant to the thermohaline planetary dynamics. The analysis performed here does not follow the same lines as previous asymptotic studies on rotating fluids. It involves a singular operator which is not skew symmetric, and prevents classical energy estimates. To handle such operator requires to put the primitive equations under normal form, together with an appropriate use of the viscous terms.  相似文献

In this paper we derive the Forchheimer law via the theory of homogenization. In particular, we study the nonlinear correction to Darcy's law due to inertial effects on the flow of a Newtonian fluid in rigid porous media. A general formula for this correction term is derived directly from the Navier–Stokes equation via homogenization. Unlike other studies based on the same approach that concluded for the nonlinear correction to be cubic in velocity for isotropic media, the present work shows that the nonlinear correction is quadratic. An example is constructed to illustrate our theory. In this example, the analytic solution to the Navier–Stokes equation is obtained and is utilized to show the validity of the quadratic correction. Both incompressible and compressible fluids are considered.  相似文献

碳酚醛材料在航空航天领域有着广泛的应用,其高压力学性能的研究逐渐受到人们的关注。本文通过轻气炮实验,开展了新型碳酚醛材料冲击压缩力学性能研究。采用非对称碰撞直接测量法测量并计算了击波速度(D)与波后粒子速度(u),建立了D-u型的Hugoniot曲线,并由此推导了两种P-η型的状态方程。进一步,建立了该材料的Murnaghan状态方程,求得了相应的材料参数,并对Murnaghan状态方程和P-η型Hugoniot状态方程进行了比较和分析。  相似文献

The paper describes a domain decomposition strategy which allows high efficiency parallel simulations of turbomachinery flows. The implicit ADI parallel solver is based on the scalar approximate factorisation. The Navier-Stokes (NS) and turbulence model equations are discretised by centred finite differences. The results prove that the parallel calculations with domain decomposition, in which each sub-domain explicitly communicates with the adjacent ones at the end of each implicit iteration, may suffer from a considerable deterioration of the convergence rate. A simple sub-iterative domain recoupling strategy allows recovering the convergence rate of a single processor computation. The strategy is carefully analysed and optimised in terms of inter-processor data communication rate and algorithm memory requirements. The span-wise domain decomposition is particularly suited for turbomachinery flows and is applied to a radial impeller and to an axial turbine stator and stage to prove the validity and the accuracy of the proposed approach. The results indicate that the parallel recoupled algorithm usually reach efficiencies of 0.8, with peaks over 0.9 with up to 16 processors, thereby allowing a considerable speed-up of design and verification calculations.  相似文献

An analytical solution to the one-dimensional solute advection-dispersion equation in multi-layer porous media is derived using a generalized integral transform method. The solution was derived under conditions of steady-state flow and arbitrary initial and inlet boundary conditions. The results obtained by this solution agree well with the results obtained by numerically inverting Laplace transform-generated solutions previously published in the literature. The analytical solution presented in this paper provides more flexibility with regard to the inlet conditions. The numerical evaluation of eigenvalues and matrix exponentials required in this solution technique can be accurately and efficiently computed using the sign-count method and eigenvalue evaluation methods commonly available. The illustrative calculations presented herein have shown how an analytical solution can provide insight into contaminant distribution and breakthrough in transport through well defined layered column systems. We also note that the method described here is readily adaptable to two and three-dimensional transport problems.  相似文献

In recent years, some new phenomena have been predicted theoretically on the basis of the Burnett approximation. These include thermal-stress and concentration-stress convection [1–3], and also effects due to the influence of a magnetic field in a multiatomic gas (viscomagnetic heat flux, etc., [4]). It has been shown theoretically (see [5]) that under certain conditions various terms of the Burnett approximation must be taken into account in the expression for barodiffusion. The conclusions relating to a viscomagnetic heat flux have recently been confirmed experimentally [4]. The predicted phenomena follow rigorously from the Burnett equations. However, many hydrodynamicists adopt a sceptical attitude to these equations, which is due partly perhaps to attachment to the classical Navier-Stokes equations, which have served theoreticians without fail for a century and a half. In this connection, we discuss the evolution of ideas relating to the validity of the Burnett approximation. We discuss the minimal assumptions which must be made in order to derive the equations of slow [Reynolds number R = 0(1)], essentially nonisothermal [ ln T = 0(1)] flows of a gas as a continuous medium (Knudsen number K O) in the case when the derivatives of the thermal Burnett stresses in the momentum equation have the same order of magnitude as the Euler and Navier-Stokes terms of this equation [1–3].Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 77–84, November–December, 1979.We thank G. Matched asymptotics are used formally in the linearized Navier–Stokes equations, the so-called Oseen approximation, to derive a nonlinear law for the flow of a single-phase, incompressible Newtonian fluid through a rigid porous medium. Summary We consider an integro-differential equation describing a Newtonian dynamics with long-range interaction for a continuous distribution of mass in R. First, we deduce unique existence and regularity properties of its solution locally in time, and then we investigate a scaling limit. As limit dynamics a nonlinear wave equation is determined. Technically, we rely on the connection of the Newtonian dynamics to a system of an integro-differential equation and a partial differential equation. Basic for our considerations is the study of the regularity properties of the solution of that system. 与传统有限元法相比,无网格法具有节点形函数高度光滑、易于形成高阶近似等优势,更适合于以薄板弯曲问题为代表的高阶偏微分方程的数值求解。然而,高阶无网格法的形函数是非多项式的有理函数,导致弱形式的区域积分难以得到精确计算,通常采用的高阶高斯积分方法需使用大量积分点,计算效率低且精度不高。本文针对薄板弯曲问题的高阶(三阶)无网格法分析,首次发展了与该高阶近似相一致的曲率光顺方案,并基于背景三角形积分单元建立了相应的数值积分格式,大幅度减少了所需的积分点数目。所发展方法的关键在于计算刚度阵所需的形函数的二阶导数由形函数及其一阶导数通过散度定理确定,而非对形函数直接求导获得。数值结果表明,基于标准的高斯积分方案的高阶无网格法精度不高,不能精确再现纯弯曲和线性弯曲模式,且得到的弯矩场分布存在严重的虚假数值振荡。而本文所建议的基于曲率光顺方案的高阶无网格法能够方便高效地求解薄板弯曲问题,尤其是它能精确反映纯弯曲和线性弯曲模式。与标准的高斯积分方法和目前主流的常曲率光顺方法相比,本文方法在计算效率、精度、弯矩分布等方面均展现出显著优势,因而具有较好的应用价值。  相似文献

We derive a one-dimensional model for the displacement and torsion of an elastic string starting from a cylindrical three-dimensional linearized prestressed elastic body with small diameter. The prestress is due to the prior elastic deformation of an isotropic, homogenous, elastic body. We deduce the scaling of forces by a formal asymptotic expansion. Then we prove that the family of solutions of three-dimensional problems converges to a limit that is the unique solution of the string model. Coefficients of the string model depend on the three-dimensional elasticity coefficients and the tension due to the predeformation.  相似文献
