用批量乳液聚合法制备了苯乙烯(St)———甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA)二元共聚种子乳液S1以及St MMA 丙烯酸(AA)三元共聚种子乳液S2,通过连续法无皂种子乳液聚合合成了一系列不同AA或MAA(甲基丙烯酸)含量的St、MMA三元共聚乳液.将所得复合胶乳进行碱/酸分步处理,得到具有多孔结构的乳胶粒.用透射电镜对胶粒形态进行了表征,考察了不饱和酸种类和用量、碱处理初始pH值及溶胀剂对胶粒成孔的影响.  相似文献

The effect of the polymer composition on the formation of multihollow structures formed within submicron-sized styrene–butyl acrylate–dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate terpolymer particles by the “acid/alkali method” proposed by the authors was examined. The cationic particles were produced by seeded emulsion terpolymerization with 2,2′-azobis(2-amidinopropane) hydrochloride initiator. The dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate content and the glass-transition temperature of the terpolymer greatly affected the formation of the multihollow structure. The influence of nonionic emulsifier, included inside styrene-methacrylic acid copolymer [P(S-MAA)] particles during emulsion copolymerization, on the formation of multihollow structure inside the particles via the alkali/cooling method (proposed by the authors) was examined in comparison to emulsifier-free particles. Submicron-sized multihollow styrene-methacrylic acid (92.6/7.4, molar ratio) copolymer particles having high transition temperature above 100°C were produced by using the stepwise alkali/acid method proposed by the authors. The original particles were prepared by emulsion copolymerization of styrene and methacrylic acid. The variation of the morphology of a carboxylated polymer film cast from tetrahydrofuran solution, in which styrene/methacrylic acid copolymer particles produced by emulsion copolymerization were dissolved, before and after alkali treatment at temperatures higher than the glass-transition temperature was observed with a scanning electron microscope. The treated film had a porous structure. This result provides important evidence for the formation mechanism of the multihollow structure in submicron-sized, carboxylated polymer emulsion particles by the stepwise alkali/acid method and the alkali/cooling method which the authors proposed.  相似文献

The effects of nonionic emulsifier on the formation of multihollow structures formed within sub-micron-sized polymer particles by the “acid/alkali method” proposed by the authors were examined. The original acid-swellable particles were produced by seeded emulsion terpolymerization of styrene, butyl acrylate, and dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate. 采用完全无皂种子乳液聚合技术合成了粒径窄分布的P(MMA-EA-MAA)乳胶粒,通过对上述胶乳进行碱处理,制备出了具有空腔结构和多孔结构的聚合物乳胶粒,研究了交联剂的种类和用量对聚合过程、胶粒特性及胶粒结构形态的影响.结果表明,体系中加入交联剂后,单体转化率都有不同程度的提高;随交联剂用量的增加,乳胶粒粒径略有减小,交联剂用量较高时,乳胶粒粒径分布加宽;二乙烯基苯(DVB)的交联效率稍高于双甲基丙烯酸乙二醇酯(EGDMA);不加入交联剂及EGDMA用量低于0.5%时,处理后乳胶粒呈空腔结构,加入DVB及EGDMA用量高于1.0%时,处理后乳胶粒呈多孔结构,并且乳胶粒体积增量随交联剂用量的增加而减小.  相似文献

Emulsion polymerizations of styrene using poly(oxyethylene) nonylphenyl ether nonionic emulsifier were carried out at different emulsifier and initiator (potassium persulfate, KPS) concentrations to prepare polystyrene (PS) seed particles with incorporated nonionic emulsifier. Seeded emulsion polymerizations of styrene using the PS seed particles with different amounts of incorporated emulsifier were carried out to develop a novel method for the preparation of multihollow particles. When seed particles with a small amount of incorporated emulsifier were used, non-hollow spherical particles were prepared. However, multihollow particles were obtained in the case of seed particles with a large amount of incorporated emulsifier. Moreover, the higher the initiator concentration in the preparation of seed particles, the more effectively were hollow particles prepared. On the basis of the above results, a mechanism for the formation of multihollow structure was suggested.  相似文献

Soap-free poly(styrene-ethyl acrylate-acrylic acid) latex particles with narrow size distribution and with surface carboxyl groups were synthesized by semicontinuous emulsion polymerization, and the particles with homogeneous multihollow structure were obtained after alkali posttreatment. Effects of treatment conditions and crosslinking agents on particle morphology were investigated. Results showed that the multihollow structure can be formed inside the uncrosslinked particles only when the treatment temperature exceeded 50 °C, the pH was higher than 10.0, the amount of 2-butanone was more than 3.0 ml and the treatment time was longer than 30 min. Furthermore, the volume expansion of the particles increased with the temperature increased to 90 °C, the pH to 12.5 or the amount of 2-butanone to 7.0 ml, and this value increased first and then decreased with the treatment time prolonged. Fine pores can be generated in the shell of particles crosslinked by 0.2 g of ethyl glycol dimethylacrylate (EGDMA), while no hollow structure formed inside particles when 0.4 g of EGDMA or 0.2 g of divinyl benzene was used.  相似文献

Glass transition temperature (Tg) of submicron-sized, carboxylated polymer particles dispersed in aqueous media, which were prepared by emulsion copolymerization of styrene, iso-butyl methacrylate, or methyl methacrylate with methacrylic acid, was measured at alkali or acidic pH region with a power compensation-type high sensitive differential scanning calorimeter. The Tg of relatively hydrophilic polymer particles was obviously decreased by the neutralization of the carboxyl groups with KOH, whereas that of hydrophobic polymer particles was not changed though water was absorbed therein. These results indicate that water absorption state, which means not only the amount of water absorption but also the heterogeneity of the ionized carboxylated polymer particles, markedly depends on the hydrophilicity of their base polymers. This strongly supports the formation mechanism of multihollow particles by the stepwise alkali/acid or the alkali/cooling treatments of carboxylated polymer particles proposed by the authors.Part CCLXIX of the series, “Studies on Suspension and Emulsion.”  相似文献

In order to clarify the formation mechanism of multihollow structures inside styrene–methacrylic acid copolymer particles prepared by the stepwise alkali/acid method, which we proposed in 1990, the evaporation behavior of water from aqueous dispersions of the original carboxylated particles and those after the alkali treatment and the stepwise alkali/acid treatments was examined. Submicron-sized styrene-methacrylic acid copolymer particles, which were produced by emulsion copolymerization, were changed to those having multihollow structure by treating stepwise the emulsion as follows. First alkali treatment was carried out at higher temperature than the glass transition temperature and subsequently the emulsion was cooled by keeping it at room temperature. This was named alkali/cooling method. Micron-size monodisperse polymer particles having multihollow structures were prepared as follows. First, micron-size monodisperse polystyrene/poly(styrene-divinylbenzene) (PS/P(S-DVB)) composite particles were produced by seeded copolymerization of S and DVB with 2,2-azobisisobutyronitrile as an initiator in the ethanol/water (76/24, weight ratio) medium in the presence of 2.37 m-size monodisperse PS seed particles produced by dispersion polymerization. The molar ratio of S/DVB was changed in the range of 1/110/1. The uncrosslinked polymer within the composite particles was extracted with toluene under reflux. For the highest DVB content (S/DVB=1/1, molar ratio), one large hollow was observed in a part of the composite particles after the extraction. For the middle DVB content (S/DVB=4/1, molar ratio), multihollow structure was observed in all the particles. For the lowest DVB content (S/DVB=10/1, molar ratio), fine multihollow structure was observed in all the particles.Part CXLIII of the series Studies on Suspension and Emulsion  相似文献

The effects of ionic emulsifier, sodium dodecylbenzene sulfate (SDBS), on the formation of the multihollow structures in sub-micron sized polymer particles produced by alkali/acid posttreatment were investigated. The original latex particles with narrow size distribution were synthesized by a new sequence emulsifier-free/emulsifier emulsion copolymerization of styrene (St) and methacrylic acid (MAA). Results indicated that the pore size decreased and the pore number increased with the increase of SDBS amount, and the morphology of the posttreated latex particles was also significantly influenced by the introducing time of SDBS in the preparation of the original latex particles, and a suitable introducing time was 3 h of polymerization.  相似文献

A new and effective process has been developed for fabrication of novel cage-like multihollow polymer particles by using sulfonated polystyrene (SP) particles as the templates, with heptane as the phase separation agent, in an ethanol/water medium. The ratio of water/ethanol and the heating temperature play important roles in the formation of these multihollow particles. It was found that the cage-like polymer particles could be obtained when the ratio of ethanol/water is 5:5 (w/w), with a temperature above 50?°C. After a detailed study, the formation mechanism was proposed based on an SP swollen (ethanol and heptane penetrating process) and phase separation process. This new method for fabricating the cage-like multihollow polymer particles has a great meaning not only on confirming the formation mechanism, but also on providing an effective way to prepare the special hollow core/porous shell polymer particles, which could have wide range of potential applications, such as catalysts, sensors, and drug release.  相似文献

We herein present a novel and simple synthetic strategy for fabricating multihollow superparamagnetic magnetite/polystyrene nanocomposite microspheres via water-in-oil-in-water double emulsions. Amphipathic magnetite nanoparticles surface-modified with oleic acid act as an oil-soluble emulsifier and sodium dodecyl sulfate acts as a water-soluble surfactant in the system. The final products were thoroughly characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and field-emission scanning electron microscopy, which showed the formation of multihollow magnetite/polystyrene nanocomposite microspheres. Preliminary results of magnetic properties of multihollow magnetite/polystyrene microspheres were reported. The effect of the content of amphipathic magnetite nanoparticles on the morphology of nanocomposite microspheres was studied. Furthermore, the mechanism of formation of multihollow magnetic nanocomposite microspheres was also discussed.  相似文献
