Abstract   The singular second-order m-point boundary value problem
, is considered under some conditions concerning the first eigenvalue of the relevant linear operators, where ()(x) = (p(x)ϕ′(x))′ + q(x)ϕ(x) and ξ i ∈ (0, 1) with 0 < ξ1 < ξ2 < · · · < ξ m−2 < 1, a i ∈ [0, ∞). h(x) is allowed to be singular at x = 0 and x = 1. The existence of positive solutions is obtained by means of fixed point index theory. Similar conclusions hold for some other m-point boundary value conditions. A classical Teichmüller sequence is a sequence of quasiconformal mapsf i with complex dilatations of the form , where φ is a quadratic differential and 0≤k i<1 are numbers such thatk i→1 asi→∞. This situation occurs in the Teichmüller theory when one moves along a Teichmüller geodesic toward the boundary. The central result is that if τ is a vertical trajectory associated to φ, then there is often, for instance if the sequence is normalized so thatf i fix 3 points, a subsequence such thatf i tend either toward a constant or an injective map of τ (Theorem 4.1). If the limit is injective, it is an embedding of τ if τ does not contain points such that τ returns infinitely often to every neighborhood of the point. The main idea is to composef i locally with a map ϱi so that the composed mapf iϱi is conformal and coincides withf i on τ. Normal family arguments are applied to the sequencef iϱi. Abstract For the multidimensional ARMA system A(z)y_k=C(z)w_k it is shown that stability(det A(z)≠0,z:│z│≤1)of A(z) is equivalent to the trajectory boundedness in the mean square sense(MSS)which,as a rule,is a consequence of a successful stochastic adaptive control leading the closed-loop of an ARMAXsystem to a steady state ARMA system.In comparison with existing results the stability condition imposed onC(z)is no longer needed.The only structural requirement on the system is that det A(z) and det C(z) have nounstable common factor.  相似文献

Consider the partly linear regression model ,where yi's are responses, xi = (xi1, xi2,…,xip)' and ti ∈T are known and nonrandom design points, T is a compact set in the real line is an unknown parameter vector, g(·) is an unknown function and {Ei} isa linear process, i.e., random variables with zeromean and variance o2e. Drawing upon B-spline estimation of g(·) and least squares estimation of 0, we construct estimators of the autocovariances of {Ei}- The uniform strong convergence rate of these estimators to their true values is then established. These results not only are a compensation for those of [23], but also have some application in modeling error structure. When the errors {Ei} are an ARMA process, our result can be used to develop a consistent procedure for determining the order of the ARMA process and identifying the non-zero coefficients of the process. Moreover, our result can be used to construct the asymptotically efficient estimators for parameters in the ARMA error process.  相似文献

In this paper,we explore some weakly consistent properties of quasi-maximum likelihood estimates(QMLE) concerning the quasi-likelihood equation in=1 Xi(yi-μ(Xiβ)) = 0 for univariate generalized linear model E(y |X) = μ(X'β).Given uncorrelated residuals {ei = Yi-μ(Xiβ0),1 i n} and other conditions,we prove that βn-β0 = Op(λn-1/2) holds,where βn is a root of the above equation,β0 is the true value of parameter β and λn denotes the smallest eigenvalue of the matrix Sn = ni=1 XiXi.We also show that the convergence rate above is sharp,provided independent non-asymptotically degenerate residual sequence and other conditions.Moreover,paralleling to the elegant result of Drygas(1976) for classical linear regression models,we point out that the necessary condition guaranteeing the weak consistency of QMLE is Sn-1→ 0,as the sample size n →∞.  相似文献

We extend the results of [T2] to the situation where there is a compatibility with the action of a Kleinian group. We proved in [T2] that if τ is a vertical trajectory associated to ϕ, then there is often, for instance if the sequence is normalized so thatf i fix 3 points, a subsequence such thatf i tend either toward a constant or an injective map of τ. If there is compatibility with the action of a non-elementary finitely generated Kleinian groupG, we can given a precise characterization which of these cases occurs. Suppose thatf i induce isomorphisms ϕi ofG onto another Kleinian group and that ϕi have algebraic limit ϕ. If the quadratic differential is defined on a component of the ordinary set ofG, if there are no parabolic elements, and if τ is extended maximally so that all branches coming together at a singular point are included, then we can state the main result as follows. The limit is a constantc if the stabilizerG τ of τ is elementary; and, if it is non-elementary, then the limit is injective. In the first case, ϕ(g) is parabolic with fixpointc whenevergG τ is of infinite order; and in the latter case, the limitf is an embedding of τ in a natural topology of τ, andf embeds τ into a component of the limit set of ϕG whose stabilizer is ϕG τ.
