The cross sections for Ξ? and Ω? inclusive production in Ξ? Be collisions at 116 GeV/c have been measured in the kinematic domain [0.1<x F <0.9, 0<p T <1.7 GeV/c]. The integrated cross sections per nucleon are found to be about twice as large as in Ξ? p collisions. The invariant cross sections increase by a factor of 70 for the Ξ? s and of 100 for the Ω? s between the central region (x F ~0.2) and the projectile fragmentation region (x F ~0.8). In the central region, they have about the same magnitude as the ones for Ξ? and Ω? inclusive production inp nucleon collisions. The Ξ? and Ω? polarisations have been measured over the same kinematic domain and are found to be compatible with zero.  相似文献

The inclusive production of π+ for 0.4≤pT<1.0 GeV/c in pion-nucleus and proton-nucleus collisions at 4.3 GeV/c was measured. A strong A-dependence of the cross sections at high pT is observed to be persistent in the low energy region. The ratio of the cross sections for proton-nucleus and pion-nucleus collisions is also observed to be compatible with the quark-parton picture, for pT>0.6 GeV/c.  相似文献

The production of energetic π? at 0° has been measured in Ne+NaF and Ni+Ni collisions with incident energies between 1.3 and 2AGeV. In Ne+NaF collisions the investigation was extended to extreme subthreshold processes with lab momenta up to 4.5 GeV/c. In both systems at all incident energies the π? production cross sections deviate in a systematic way from thermal distributions.  相似文献

The cross sections for production of pions, kaons, protons, antiprotons and deuterons at zero production angle have been measured in proton-nucleus collisions at 70 GeV in the momentum range of secondaries from 1.5 up to 3 GeV/c. Thin Al, Cu and W targets have been used in these measurements. The data onA-dependence of the production cross sections and particle yield ratios in momentum range from 1.35 up to 3.0 GeV/c are presented.  相似文献

The collisions ofp,2H,4He and C with carbon and tantalum nuclei at 4.2 GeV/c per nucleon as well as the collisionsp-C andp-Ta at 10 GeV/c from 2-m propane bubble chamber have been studied. New results on nuclear stopping have been obtained from the examination of proton rapidity distributions and average rapidity of leading protons for collisions of various degree of centrality: our study points out that a proton projectile is fully stopped in the centralp-Ta collisions at 4.2 GeV/c but only partly stopped at 10 Gev/c. The proton multiplicity in the centralp-Ta collisions at 10 GeV/c can be described by the binomial distribution,P(n), which expresses the probability that the projectile meetsn protons among the nucleons being along the diameter of a target nucleus.  相似文献

Results on inclusive particle production in π? n interactions at 21, 205 and 360 GeV/c are presented. The invariant cross sections in both neutron fragmentation and central regions are found to be equal within errors to the corresponding cross sections for π? p collisions and exhibit the same energy dependence. A strong energy dependence of the invariant cross section ratios of negative and positive pions is observed. There is also an indication of transverse momentum dependence of these ratios. The η? correlations in the neutron fragmentation region show little variation with energy and are in agreement with the predictions of the naive quark recombination scheme.  相似文献

TheΞ - p differential elastic cross section has been measured in the SPS hyperon beam at 102 and 135 GeV/c. In the range 0.012, thet distributions are found to be compatible with the formA exp(Bt) whereB is 7.7±0.4(GeV/c)?2 at 102 GeV/c and 8.2 ±0.5(GeV/c)?2 at 135 GeV/c. The corresponding total elastic cross sections areσ el=4.9±0.7 mb andσ el=5.6±0.9 mb, respectively. These results are compared with the predictions of phenomenological models.  相似文献

The inclusive cross sections for production of prompt photons and π0 s by 280 GeV/c protons incident on a liquid hydrogen target, have been measured forp T in the range 4.0 to 6.5 GeV/c and for |x F |<0.45. A quantitative comparison of the prompt photon cross section with next-to-leading order QCD predictions using Duke and Owens structure functions is performed. 4He-p collisions at two values of4He momenta-8·6 GeV/c and 13·6 GeV/c — have been studied using the one-metre JINR hydrogen bubble chamber. Total, elastic and topological cross sections have been measured. The results are in agreement with other published data. The cross sections for π±, K±, p, and p production in pp collisions have been measured at transverse momenta from 0.48 up to 2.21 GeV/c at 70 GeV. The data are compared with results obtained at lower and higher proton energies and also with the quantum chromodynamics parton model (QPM) calculations. Common behaviour of the cross sections of the form g(p)?(x) in the energy range above 200 GeV does not take place at lower energies. Qualitatively QPM fits the data and the best agreement is for π+/π? and K+/π+ ratios.  相似文献

Absolute cross sections for inclusive electron scattering on H, D, Be, Al, and Si have been measured in the kinematical region 0.08 (GeV/c)2<Q 2<1.0 (GeV/c)2 and 0.3 GeV<v<6.5 GeV. The measurements have been performed at incident energies of 3, 5, 6, and 7 GeV and at the fixed scattering angle of 10°. A careful treatment of radiative corrections due to elastic electron nucleus scattering, quasielastic and inelastic scattering on the bound nucleons has been applied to the measured cross sections. The comparison of the nuclear cross sections with the elementary ones leads to a value ofA eff<A with a rapid onset of this effect at small values of the scaling variablex′.  相似文献

The inclusive cross sections for η production by the interactions of 280 GeV/c momentum π?, π+, and proton beams in hydrogen have been measured. The kinematical range covered is ?0.45<x F <0.45, and 4.0<P T <7.0 GeV/c for Feynmanx F and transverse momentum respectively. The η to π0 cross section ratios are given for the three reactions. The ratio of π? p to π+ p cross sections for η production in the above kinematic ranges is 1.22±0.08±0.11.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for the process γp → pη have been measuredd at c.m. angles of 28°, 35° and 42° at incident energies between 2 GeV and 2.8 GeV. Data from an earlier experiment below 2 GeV have been re-analysed and corrected. The whole set of data is compared with the form (s?M2)2 dσ/dt, which fits data at higher energies. A sample of 58e+e? events with an invariant mass greater than 11 GeV/c2 produced in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 62.3 GeV is discussed. Differential cross sections in the t-range between 0.02 and 1.5 GeV2 have been measured for the elastic scattering of particles and antiparticles on protons at 6.4, 10.4 and 14 GeV for K±p and 10.4 GeV for π±p and p±p. Large statistics have been achieved and systematic uncertainties have been minimized. The relative systematic uncertainty between particle and antiparticle data is less than 0.5%. Accurate measurements of the position of the first crossover between particle and antiparticle differential cross sections have been performed. As the energy increases from 6.4 to 14 GeV the K±p crossover moves to smaller values by 0.010 GeV2 with a statistical error of 0.006 GeV2 and a systematic uncertainty of 0.005 GeV2. The crossover positions at 10.4 GeV for π±, K± and p± scale approximately with the interaction radii.  相似文献

The formation of cumulative nuclei of 4He in 16Op collisions at a momentum of 3.25 GeV/c per nucleon was investigated for the first time under conditions of 4π acceptance. The slope parameter of the invariant cross sections for the formation of cumulative nuclei of 4He was determined, and new data on the correlations between the yield of these cumulative nuclei and the yield of charged particles and fragments in 16Op interactions were obtained.  相似文献

Differential cross sections of single particles and multiparticle systems produced in K?p interactions at 110 GeV/c are presented. At large values of transverse momentum (p) we find the multiparticle cross section to be an order of magnitude larger than that for single particles. This and other features of our data are consistent with results obtained at 200 GeV/c, that have been interpreted as evidence of a new dynamical mechanism in hadron-hadron interactions. However, similar features are observed in a K?p experiment at 16 GeV/c.  相似文献

A detailed analysis ofK s 0 production in \(\bar pp\) |<2.5 the average transverse momentum is found to be 0.53±0.07 GeV/c at 200 GeV and 0.62±0.08 GeV/c at 900 GeV, which is an increase with respect to data at c.m. energies below 60 GeV. TheK s 0 production cross sections in inelastic collisions are 29±4 mb at 200 GeV and 63±6 mb at 900 GeV, showing an increase compared to lower energy data. The central kaon density is found to increase as a logarithmic function of energy. At 900 GeV, where statistics are sufficient to allow one to draw conclusions, the average transverse momentum is higher in events with large charged multiplicity than in events with low multiplicity.  相似文献
