We present and study the results for the standard model process $e^ + e^ - \to \nu \bar \nu b\bar b$ at c.m. energies 150 ≤ √s(GeV) ≤ 240 and for Higgs boson masses 60 GeV ≤ m H ≤ 110 GeV, obtained from all tree-level diagrams and including the most important radiative corrections. The matrix elements have been calculated by the ‘spinor bracket’ method without neglecting masses, which is presented in detail. The √s-dependence and the interference properties of the Higgs boson contributions and of various coherent background contributions to the total cross section are examined and compared. The important differential distributions for the Higgs boson and the background components are studied, providing information useful for choosing cuts in Higgs searches. We also examine the effect of a minimal set of cuts and evaluate the importance of the WW fusion for detecting a higher mass Higgs boson at LEP II.  相似文献

The sensitivity of data on the process $e^ + e^ - \to e^ + e^ - b\bar b$ at a future linear electron-positron collider to the deviation of the coupling of the Higgs boson to b quarks from the Standard Model predictions owing to the presence of a pseudoscalar Higgs boson state is analyzed for a collision energy of $\sqrt s = 500 Gev$ . The admixture of a new hypothetical pseudoscalar Higgs boson state in the $Hb\bar b$ vertex is parametrized in the form m b /v(a + 5 b). On the basis of an analysis of data on the process $e^ + e^ - \to e^ + e^ - b\bar b$ , it is shown that experiments at the future linear collider TESLA will make it possible to constrain the parameters Δa = a ? 1 and b as ?0.056 ≤ Δa ≤ 0.055 and ?0.32 ≤ b ≤ 0.32, respectively.  相似文献

The possibility of setting constraints on the couplings of the scalar or pseudoscalar Higgs boson to b quarks on the basis of data on the process $e^ + e^ - \to b\bar bv\bar v$ at the LEP II collider is investigated. The mixing of the scalar and the hypothetical pseudoscalar Higgs boson in the $Hb\bar b$ vertex is parametrized in the form $\frac{{m_b }}{v}(a + i\gamma _5 b)$ . An analysis of the differential distributions for the process $e^ + e^ - \to b\bar bv\bar v$ reveals that the contribution of the fusion subprocess WWH in the channel involving an electron neutrino enhances the sensitivity of data to the parameters under analysis. It is shown that the LEP II data at $\sqrt s = 200$ GeV and $\smallint \mathcal{L}dt = 600 pb^{ - 1} $ per experiment would make it possible to constrain the parameters Δa = a ? 1 and b as follows: ?0.75 ≤ Δa ≤ 1.4 at b = 0 and free Δa and ?0.97 ≤ b ≤ 0.97 at Δa = 0 and free b.  相似文献

CP violation effects in $e^ + e^ - \to t\bar tg$ are examined. CP-odd,T N -odd andT N -even observables can both be used to extract information on the real and imaginary parts of Feynman amplitudes. The two Higgs doublet model with CP violating phase from neutral Higgs exchange is used to illustrate possible effects. In this particular model the expected luminosity of the future colliders seems to fall short by about one order of magnitude to detect such asymmetries.  相似文献

The process with a distinctive “photon-plus-missing-energy” signal can serve as an important tool to search for new physics at LEP2. It can be exploited to measure the WWγ coupling, or to search for weakly interacting and invisible (s)particles. For meaningful comparisons of experimental data with theoretical predictions, higher-order QED corrections due to multiphoton emission must be taken into account. In the present paper we explain how the WWγ coupling has been incorporated into the KORALZ Monte Carlo program, which can now be used for simulations of events with higher-order QED corrections. The strategy of how to perform an experimental analysis in the presence of experimental cuts is proposed. The question of systematic uncertainties is addressed and some numerical results for the phenomenologically interesting case of anomalous WWγ couplings are also given.  相似文献

A calculation of the neutrino counting reaction \(e^ + e^ - \to v\bar vy\) is presented and implemented in a Monte Carlo generator of unweighted events. The non-photonic corrections are included following the star-scheme. The photonic corrections have been exponentiated following the “inductive” and the “structure functions” approach. For a realistic experimental set-up, the total corrections around theZ 0 pole amount to ~5% with respect to the one-loop result. The final precision achieved is better than 1%.  相似文献

A complete tree-level Standard Model calculation of the reaction $e^ + e^ - \to b\bar b + 2$ jets in the energy range of LEPII and the Nexte +e? Linear Collider is presented. The 2-jet system represents either aq $\bar q$ pair or two gluons. The matrix elements were calculated by means of the package CompHEP, and phase space integration and event generation were carried out with the computer programs BASES/SPRING. Cross sections of the Higgs boson, the total background and important subsets of background are studied as functions of the c.m.s. energy and the Higgs mass, taking into account possible interferences. Various event distributions calculated for realistic integrated luminosities indicate encouraging prospects regarding the extraction of the Higgs signal.  相似文献

A new method for computing critical exponents based on renormalised Quantum Field Theory is presented. It arises from a new regularization procedure based on Stochastic Quantization. A version of this procedure, containing a dimensionless parameter ρ, allows an expansion analogous to the ε-expansion. Results to leading order are presented, showing at least the same accuracy as other methods to this order.  相似文献

A new procedure is devised to evaluate the proton form-factor at the ¯pp threshold from experimental data on ¯ppe + e annihilation at rest. Comparison of the ¯ppe + e and¯pp + processes reveals that annihilation ranges for various channels are ranked in line with quark dynamics. This work has been funded in part by the German Federal Minister for Research and Technology (BMFT) under the contract number 06HD756  相似文献

In the reaction \(e^ + e^ - \to v\bar v\gamma \) , the influence of the unknown masses of heavy fermions for three and four fermion generations is studied, which arises via virtual 1-loop corrections in the framework of the standard model. These masses are the top quark massm t and in the case of 4 generations the lepton massm t, wherel ? is theSU(2) partner of the fourth generation neutrino. Increasing the fermion masses from 50 GeV to 250 GeV, the maximum of the total cross section is found to decrease by a few percent.  相似文献

We calculate the differential cross section for the processe + e ?γ for longitudinal or transversal polarization of the electron positron beams. The resulting formulae are evaluated using Monte Carlo methods to find measurable effects of the weak interaction, in particular those exhibiting parity violation.  相似文献

Since weakly decaying particles are their own polarimeters, reactions like \(\eta _c \to \Lambda \bar \Lambda , \psi \to \Lambda \bar \Lambda ,e^ + e^ - \to \mu ^ + \mu ^ -\) , etc. are interesting for testing the non-locality of quantum mechanical predictions. Although such reactions, in principle, do not exclude all classes of hidden variable theories, they can be used to complement current experiments with external polarimeters. The reaction \(\eta _c \to \Lambda \bar \Lambda \to \pi ^ - p\pi ^{ + - } \bar p\) is conceptually the simplest and most useful as agedanken experiment, although it has not yet been seen experimentally. The reaction \(e^ + e^ - \to \Lambda \bar \Lambda \to \pi ^ - p\pi ^ + \bar p\) near threshold or at the φ resonance can be used for essentially the same test. This is feasible with presently available data and would be the first EPR experiment involving weak interactions.  相似文献

In the framework of a minimal supersymmetric (s) extension of the standard Glashow-Weinberg-Salam theory, creation of s-partners of known leptons and gauge bosons in the -annihilation is studied. The angle distributions and total cross sections of s-particle creation are investigated in detail. The comparison with similar processes with the participation of known particles is performed. The possibility of an experimental identification of s-particles in the -annihilation is analyzed.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 10, pp. 68–74, October, 1989.The authors thank I. The conserved charges of non-abelian gauge theories are systematically investigated in the framework of the manifestly-covariant canonical formalism. An internal-symmetry superalgebra consisting of 4n+5 generators is found in the Landaugauge case of the Yang-Mills theory, wheren denotes the dimension of the gauge group. Likewise, a superalgebra consisting of 4×6+5 generators is found in the internal-Lorentz (local-Lorentz) part of the vierbein formalism of quantum gravity. It is pointed out that there is a complete parallelism between both superalgebras.  相似文献

Based on the conserved-vector-current (CVC) hypothesis and a four-ρ-resonance unitary and analytic VMD model of the pion electromagnetic form factor, theσ tot(E v lab ) and dσdE π lab of the weak \(\bar v_e e^ - \to \pi ^ - \pi ^0\) process are predicted theoretically for the first time. Their experimental approval could verify the CVC hypothesis for all energies above the two-pion threshold. Since, unlike the electromagnetic e+e?→π+π? process, there is no isoscalar vector-meson contribution to the weak \(\bar v_e e^ - \to \pi ^ - \pi ^0\) reaction, accurate measurements of theσ tot(E v lab ) that moreover is strengthened with energyE v lab linearly could solve now a widely discussed problem of the mass specification of the first excited state of theρ(770) meson. As a by-product, an equality \(\sigma _{tot} (\bar v_e e^ - \to \pi ^ - \pi ^0 ) = \sigma _{tot} (e^ + e^ - \to \pi ^ - \pi ^0 )\) is predicted for \(\sqrt s \approx 70 GeV\) .  相似文献
