We consider the boundary-value problem of electroelasticity for a composite plate weakened by a crack crossing the line joining the media. The initial boundary-value problem, is reduced to a mixed system of singular integral and algebraic equations. The possibility of using the finite-element method for investigating two-dimensional problems on natural vibrations in the mechanics of composite materials with curved structures is considered. With the example of a hinge-supported strip made of a composite material with a locally curved structure, the influence of geometrical and mechanical parameters of the strip on its eigenfrequencies is examined. The results of short-term creep tests of a layered glass fiber/polyester resin plastic in tension at angles of 90, 70, and 45° to the direction of the principal fiber orientation are presented. The applicability of the principle of time-temperature analogy for the prediction of long-term creep of the composite and its structural components is revealed. In this paper, we propose a composite generalized Laguerre–Legendre pseudospectral method for the Fokker–Planck equation in an infinite channel, which behaves like a parabolic equation in one direction, and behaves like a hyperbolic equation in other direction. We establish some approximation results on the composite generalized Laguerre–Legendre–Gauss–Radau interpolation, with which the convergence of proposed composite scheme follows. An efficient implementation is provided. Numerical results show the spectral accuracy in space of this approach and coincide well with theoretical analysis. The approximation results and techniques developed in this paper are also very appropriate for many other problems on multiple-dimensional unbounded domains, which are not of standard types.  相似文献

The impact response of a laminate composite with a crack or flaw normal to the interface is studied in terms of the intensification of the dynamic stresses around the crack border. Analytically, the laminate is modeled by a single layer with the crack sandwiched between two other layers of dissimilar material. Fourier and Laplace transforms are employed such that the problem reduces to the solution of a system of dual integral equations. Numerical results for the dynamic stress intensity factor are obtained by solving a Fredholm integral equation. Conclusion An algorithm for calculating the dynamic viscoelastic characteristics of a composite reinforced with short fibers was developed and realized in the form of a computer program. An analysis was made of the dependence of the characteristics of the composite on the volume content and length of its fibers, as well as on statistical distributions of fiber length and orientation in the material. It was shown that a change in the parameters of the statistical distributions has a significant effect on both the elastic and the dissi-pative properties of the composite. The effect of a filler on the strength properties of polymers in tension is investigated. The thermostructural stresses that develop in the composite during cure are taken into account. Relations are given for the strength of the filled polymer as a function of the percentage filler content. In the process of analyzing the thermostructural stresses an analytic expression is obtained for the linear expansion coefficient of the composite with allowance for the structural distribution of the components. Calculated values of the strength and thermostructural stresses are presented for composites with different filler contents. Multicriteria optimization of the structure and geometry of a laminated anisotropic composite shell subjected to thermal and dynamic actions is considered. From the known properties of monolayers and the given values of variable structural and geometric parameters, the thermoelastic properties of the layered anisotropic composite are determined. The criteria to be optimized—the natural frequency and the thermal stresses—depend on two variable design parameters, stochastic properties of the composite, and temperature. Composite polymer materials based on PTFE containing ultradisperse -sialon (1–10 wt.%) as the cross-linking agent are studied. It is shown that the injection of small amounts of fillers (1–2 wt.%) increases the degree of composite crystallinity. A correlation between the structure, element distribution on the surface layers of samples, and tribotechnical characteristics of composites is found. Properties of a model composite based on an ED-22 epoxy binder, cured with polyprophylene polyamine, and disperse LiF crystals as a filler were investigated by the methods of dilatometry and X-ray diffractometry. It was established that the density of cross-links of the epoxy binder in the interphase layer was lower than in a block specimen. Therefore, the thermal expansion of the composite on heating to 120°C, in terms of that of the binder, grew significantly with the degree of filling ϕ, and the water uptake also increased at the initial stage. The presence of absorbed water led to considerable changes in the structure and properties of the composite interphase: the binder became more cross-linked, its structural ordering decreased, the thermal expansion at heating diminished by a factor of 3. 7 (at ϕ = 50%), and the glass-transition temperature increased. Numerical conformal mapping packages based on the Schwarz–Christoffel formula have been in existence for a number of years. Various authors, for good reasons of practical efficiency, have chosen to use composite n-point Gauss–Jacobi rules for the estimation of the Schwarz–Christoffel path integrals. These implementations rely on an ad hoc, but experimentally well-founded, heuristic for selecting the spacing of the integration end-points relative to the position of the nearby integrand singularities. In the present paper we derive an explicitly computable estimate, asymptotic as n→∞, for the relevant Gauss–Jacobi quadrature error. A numerical example illustrates the potential accuracy of the estimate even at low values of n. It is apparent that the error estimate will allow the adaptive construction of composite rules in a manner that is more efficient than has been possible hitherto.  相似文献

Conclusion Thus, we have developed an algorithm and program to calculate fields of moisture concentration in a laminated plate for steady external temperatures and moisture contents. A test calculation and comparison of some of the findings with previous results demonstrated the accuracy of the program for solving a number of diffusion problems. For example, the program can be used to evaluate the life of the moisture-protective properties of polymer products, as well as to model moisture absorption in fiber composites.Curves of moisture concentration were calculated for a unidirectionally reinforced (with organic fibers) plastic at different relative humidities. We also calculated sorption curves and isotherms, which were shown to agree satisfactorily with previous empirical curves. It was shown that it is possible to approximately evaluate the sorption behavior of a unidirectionally reinforced fiber composite by means of a three-layer model and to analyze the stability of the result against an increase in the number of layers. For the two-component composite examined here, sorption behavior deviates from the classical behavior described by Fick's law — although the components of the composite obey this law.The algorithm and program that were developed make it possible to evaluate the kinetics of moisture absorption in complex composite systems and determine the distribution of moisture among and within the components.The study described here was conducted under grant 93.176 from the Latvian Science Council.Translated from Mekhanika Kompozitnykh Materialov, Vol. 30, No. 4, pp. 502–511, July–August, 1994.  相似文献
