The reaction C C has been studied at 36 GeV/c. A clear signal for the decaya 2 (1320) · is observed in the mass spectrum. The measured ratio of branchings is BR (a 2 )/BR(a 2 );(3.4±0.8±0.5)·10–2.  相似文献

An estimate of the temperature of protons and mesons in central He–Li, He–C, C–C, C–Ne, C–Cu, C–Pb, O–Pb, Mg–Mg interactions is presented. The results indicate an increase of the proton temperature with increasing mass numbers of projectile and target nuclei (A p ,A T ) fromT p =(118±3) MeV for He–Li toT p =(141±2) MeV for C–Pb. The temperature of mesons does not depend onA P ,A T andT 95 MeV. A satisfactory fit for mesons in C–Cu, C–Pb, O–Pb, Mg–Mg collisions can be achieved by using a form involving two temperatures,T 1 andT 2. The relative yield of the high temperature component (T 2) is 24% for C–Cu, C–Pb, and Mg–Mg interactions. The observed results forT P in C–Ne, C–Cu and C–Pb collisions are consistent with the prediction of the thermodynamic hagedorn model.  相似文献

Starting from an operator product expansion in the heavy quark effective theory up to order 1/m b 2 we calculate the inclusive semileptonic decays of unpolarized bottom hadrons including lepton mass effects. Most of the measured events on hydrogen, deuterium and neon targets from BEBC at CERN and the 15-foot Bubble Chamber at Fermilab are combined to measure spin-density matrix elements for 0 production in the current-fragmentation region in neutrino and antineutrino charged-current interactions. The spin-alignment parameter is found to be 0.08±0.11 for neutrino and 0.41±0.11 for antineutrino interactions. The parity-odd density matrix element Im(10+–10) is consistent with zero in both reactions. In the combined neutrino and antineutrino data an indication of parity violation is observed: Im 1–1=0.38±0.16 atx B >0.2,Q 2>8 GeV2 andz>0.6.  相似文献

Contact interactions are searched for using the differential cross sections for the reactionse + e e + e ,e + e µ + µ ,e + e + ande + e measured at 12 energies around theZ peak and corresponding to about 20 pb–1 of cumulated luminosity. Four-fermion contact term models assuming various chiralities of lepton currents are fitted to the lepton data and lower limits on the energy scale of such terms are set at 95% c.l. The limits vary in the range 0.9–4.7 TeV, depending on the model and on the lepton flavour. Theee contact terms are searched for assuming various chiralities. Limits on the energy scale between 79 and 130 GeV are extracted from the data. The results are compared and combined with those reported at lower energies.Deceased  相似文献

Evidence is presented for diffractive production of -mesons and of -systems invp and chargedcurrent interactions. In the (anti-)neutrino energy range 10 GeVE v <60 gev=" the=" cross=" sections=" for=" diffractive="> and diffractive production are found to be (0.64±0.14 (stat.)±0.08 (syst.))% and (0.28±0.08 (stat.)±0.04 (syst.))% of the charged-current cross section. The diffractive signal is consistent with being entirely due to diffractivea 1 production. However, the data cannot distinguish between diffractivea 1 and diffractive nonresonant production. The experimental distributions ofW, Q 2,x Bj andy Bj for diffractive and events are consistent with model predictions.  相似文献

An analysis of the decay --0 v has been performed using the ARGUS detector at the DORIS II storage ring. The branching ratio has been determined to be Br(--0 v =(22.6±0.4±0.9)%. The shape of the -0 invariant mass spectrum is found to be in good agreement with the predictions obtained using the conserved vector current (CVC) hypothesis, suggesting that the -0 system is produced in aJ P=1 state. An analysis of the measured decay angular distribution of the pions with respect to the flight direction of the -0 system demonstrates the vector nature of the coupling at the v vertex. It is shown that the field theory of massless particles has the internal symmetry groupG=U(1) AutU(1). The 5 and dual transformations of neutrino and electromagnetic fields are particular cases of the transformations of this group. TheCP transformations of massless field can also be included in the transformations of this group. The following formulation of Pryce (1938) theorem is given: Statistical properties of the composite photon in the neutrino theory of light are inconsistent with chiral (5) symmetry of neutrino and electromagnetic fields.  相似文献

A search for e and oscillations has been carried out with the CHARM II detector exposed to the CERN wide band neutrino beam. The data were collected over five years, alternating beams mainly composed of muon-neutrinos and muon-antineutrinos. The number of interactions of e and observed is comparable with the number of events expected from flux calculations. For large squared mass differences the upper limits obtained on the mixing angle aresin 22 < 9.4=" ·=">–3 for oscillating to e andsin 22 < 4.8=" ·=">–3 for to , at the 90% confidence level. The most general angular decay distribution of the hadronic system in the decay of a polarized into one pseudoscalar plus a vector is calculated. Emphasis is put on decays ine + e experiments where the neutrino escapes detection and the restframe cannot be reconstructed. We propose a model for the decay intov involving both a vector- and a second class axial vector-current contribution. Then we present numerical results for this decay channel.  相似文献

Expressions are derived for the differential probability for the decay e(). As recently suggested by Degrassi, Marciano, and Sirlin, the electromagnetic form factor of the neutrino extracted from low energy elastic scattering cross sections ofv e and can be used to define the neutrino charge radius in the Standard Model in a gauge-invariant way. The complete one-loop contributions to the form factor consist not only the induced vertex but also the Z vertex corrections and theW andZ propagators arise from the counterterm diagrams, and theWW andZZ box diagrams. We show that the neutrino charge radius is a finite and gauge independent quantity in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We consider only the oblique corrections to the neutrino charge radius in our numerical work, because the vertex and box contributions are small. The dependence of the oblique corrections on the supersymmetric parameters in each of the three sectors: Higgs, scalar matter and gaugino sectors are studied by taking into account of the current experimental bounds from LEP.  相似文献

In the present paper, the feasibility of constructing a model of elementary and particles based on the Poincaré model of the electron [1] is examined with allowance for schemes of particle decay. The muon and pion in stopped states are considered as spherical resonators for virtual neutrino quanta excited inside an elastic lepton shell; the number of these quanta is determined by the scheme of the corresponding particle decay. In the model, the muon differs from the electron by two additional quanta of the neutrino field. The e, , and masses are calculated with the help of a single parameter. The ratio of and e masses is about (6c/e 2)2/3, and the ratio of ° and e masses is (3/2)2/3. The calculated e, , and ° masses are in the 0.547:105.71:134.963 ratios, which is in good agreement with the available experimental data. The calculated electromagnetic radius of the charged pion (±) = 0.5f is close to that calculated from the experimental data. The neutrino mass e is found to be m( e ) 0.02 eV.  相似文献

It is observed that the magnitude relationma 2 l P/c holds if the non-Euclidean incremental spatial volume associated with a fundamental particle of massm and radiusa is characteristically quantum gravitational in a Kaluza-Klein or superstringR 4×K N . HereR 4 is the four-dimensional Riemannian space-time of general relativity andK N is a small-scale, compact,N-dimensional space of characteristic quantum gravitational volumel P N , withl P (G/c 3)1/2= 1.61×10–33 cm denoting the Planck length. For the electron and electron neutrino (assumed to possess nonzero mass bounded empirically by <30 eV) the derived magnitude relationa(l P/mc)1/2 yields the estimatesa e 2.5×10–22 cm and 3.3×10–20 cm, spatial extensions which may be detectable by way of fine-scale effects in SSC experiments.  相似文献

The uniform nearest particle system (UNPS) is studied, which is a continuoustime Markov process with state space . The rigorous upper bound (mf) = ( – 1)/ for the order parameter 2, is given by the correlation identity and the FKG inequality. Then an improvement of this bound (mf) is shown in a similar fashion; C( – 1)/|log( – 1) for >1. Recently, Mountford proved that the critical value c=1. Combining his result and our improved bound implies that if the critical exponent exists, it is strictly greater than the mean-field value 1 in the weak sense.  相似文献
