A finite group G is called an MSN-group if all maximal subgroups of the Sylow subgroups of G are subnormal in G. In this paper, we determinate the structure of non-MSN-groups in which all of whose proper subgroups are MSN-groups.  相似文献

Let \mathfrakX{\mathfrak{X}} be a class of groups. A group G is called a minimal non- \mathfrakX{\mathfrak{X}}-group if it is not an \mathfrakX{\mathfrak{X}}-group but all of whose proper subgroups are \mathfrakX{\mathfrak{X}}-groups. In [16], Xu proved that if G is a soluble minimal non-Baer-group, then G/G ′′ is a minimal non-nilpotent-group which possesses a maximal subgroup. In the present note, we prove that if G is a soluble minimal non-(finite-by-Baer)-group, then for all integer n ≥ 2, G n (G′) is a minimal non-(finite-by-abelian)-group.  相似文献

Let $\mathfrak{F}$ be a non-empty formation of groups, $\tau$ a subgroup functor and $H$ a $p$-subgroup of a finite group $G.$ Let $\overline{G}=G/H_G$ and $\overline{H} =H/H_G.$ We say that $H$ is $\mathfrak{F}_\tau$-$s$-supplemented in $G$ if for some subgroup $\overline{T}$ and some $\tau$-subgroup $\overline{S}$ of $\overline{G}$ contained in $\overline{H},$ $\overline{H}\overline{T}$ is subnormal in $\overline{G}$ and $\overline{H} ∩ \overline{T} ≤ \overline{S}Z_{\mathfrak{F}}(\overline{G}).$ In this paper, we investigate the influence of $\mathfrak{F}_\tau$-$s$-supplemented subgroups on the structure of finite groups. Abstract

Let R be a local ring, with maximal ideal m , and residue class division ring R/ m ?=?D. Denote by R*?=?G L 1(R), the group of units of R. Here we investigate some algebraic structure of subnormal and maximal subgroups of R*. For instance, when D is of finite dimension over its center, it is shown that finitely generated subnormal subgroups of R* are central. It is also proved that maximal subgroups of R* are not finitely generated. Furthermore, assume that P is a nonabelian maximal subgroup of R* such that P contains a noncentral soluble normal subgroup of finite index, it is shown that D is a crossed product division algebra.  相似文献

This paper investigates subnormality and its generalizations in the universe of linear groups. Among other results, it is proved that in any periodic linear group serial subgroups are ascendant, while descendant subgroups are subnormal. We continue in this paper the study of locally minimal groups started in Außenhofer et al. (2010) [4]. The minimality criterion for dense subgroups of compact groups is extended to local minimality. Using this criterion we characterize the compact abelian groups containing dense countable locally minimal subgroups, as well as those containing dense locally minimal subgroups of countable free-rank. We also characterize the compact abelian groups whose torsion part is dense and locally minimal. We call a topological group G almost minimal if it has a closed, minimal normal subgroup N such that the quotient group G/N is uniformly free from small subgroups. The class of almost minimal groups includes all locally compact groups, and is contained in the class of locally minimal groups. On the other hand, we provide examples of countable precompact metrizable locally minimal groups which are not almost minimal. Some other significant properties of this new class are obtained.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the title groups which we call isomaximal. We give the list of all isomaximal 2-groups with abelian maximal subgroups. Further, we prove some properties of isomaximal 2-groups with nonabelian maximal subgroups. After that, we investigate the structure of isomaximal groups of order less than 64. Finally, in Theorem 14. we show that the minimal nonmetacyclic group of order 32 possesses a unique isomaximal extension of order 64. Summary A subgroup H of a group G is said to be π-quasinormal in G if it permutes with every Sylow subgroup of G, and H is said to be π-quasinormally embedded in G if for each prime dividing the order of H, a Sylow p-subgroup of H is also a Sylow p-subgroup of some π-quasinormal subgroups of G. We characterize p-nilpotentcy of finite groups with the assumption that some maximal subgroups, 2-maximal subgroups, minimal subgroups and 2-minimal subgroups are π-quasinormally embedded, respectively.  相似文献

We call a subgroup H of a finite group G c-supplemented in G if there exists a subgroup K of G such that G = HK and H ∩ K ≤ core(H). In this paper it is proved that a finite group G is p-nilpotent if G is S4-free and every minimal subgroup of P n GN is c-supplemented in NG(P), and when p = 2 P is quaternion-free, where p is the smallest prime number dividing the order of G, P a Sylow p-subgroup of G. Let D be an infinite division ring. A famous result due to Herstein says that every noncentral element of D has infinitely many conjugates in D. So, if D* is an FC-group, then D is a field. Now let N be a subnormal subgroup of GL n (D), where n ≥ 1, and M a maximal subgroup of N. In this article, we prove that if M is an FC-group, then M is contained in the multiplicative group of some subfield of M n (D).  相似文献
